Throwback: It is not weird by the American standards we love to copy and want to relocate to.
Any profession can become any kind of Minister or Commissioner.
Only the Ministry of Justice is exceptional because same Minister/Commissioner serves as the Attorney General who sometimes has to appear in court on behalf of the government.
If I was President/Governor, I would never appoint a Medical Doctor as Minister/Commissioner of Health.
I could appoint another medical expert like Pharmacist/BioChemist/MicroBiologist or even a Biologist or Food Scientist or Nutritionist as Minister/Commissioner.
I would tackle health from the proactive standpoint of healthy eating and living. you will never in any of your lives, now or the next be either governor or President. |

Dancebreaker: Sorry dude. I doubt you know grades in medicine. Certainly, in various specialties, pass mark can range from 79 to 95%. Just to pass. Minimum marks to get 1.1 grades in many other disciplines (around 70%) would often be a fail grade in med. I am not talking of cpga in whatever other other courses. Pass mark in anatomy can be set at 81% but psychiatry can be 95%. This is later weighted using a formular to become 50% or 60% taken as minimum pass mark. Absolute crazy stuff. Nor be joke. In the UK for example. It would sound implausible to the uninitiated.
The reason is simple. If your doc correctly diagnoses only 80% of patients' illnesses and the remaining 20% die or suffer worsened health, that would not be acceptable, would it?
Please respect any top graduating med, vet or dentistry graduate. He or she just topped a class of the brightest people of that generation. I know what I am talking about. It's immaterial if they call it 1.1 or not. This lady would be considered 1.1 in any job application. nobody is downgrading anyone. If she is the best graduating, she is the best graduating. Why lie about 1st class. Not all best graduating students are 1st class. Fact remains medicine degree is never graded anywhere in the world. She was never awarded any 1st class in any university. How you guys reason and defend nonsense beats me. In the real world, this is forgery cos she has no degree stating 1st class In medicine. If she has, show it. If it's immaterial whether it's called a 1st class or not, why not call it what the school called it? |
Education › Re: Udeh Chiamaka Victoria Graduates With First Class In Medicine In Russia by chukel(m): 2:37pm On Jul 12, 2023 |
Dancebreaker: May be not. I have not seen it in Western education systems but you have with Distinction. Being given the medal of Best Graduating Student, we can assume it would be similar to 1.1 classification.
Congrats to her. there is still nothing like 1st class. You can be best graduating in a course with 65%. Means the highest score obtained is 65% which is not a distinction. 1st class is based on cgpa system. We don't do it in medicine. That you are best graduating in other courses doesn't translate to first class. A best graduating may actually have a second class degree upper division. |

A Nigerian lady, Udeh Chiamaka Victoria, has graduated with a First Class Honors in Medicine from Stavropol State Medical University in Russia, IGBERETV reports.
Stavropol State Medical University is one of the oldest universities in Russia. She took to Twitter on Monday, July 10, 2023, to celebrate her achievement.
does not grade degree anywhere in the world. As a result, nothing like first class, second class, third class or pass in medicine. It's either you pass or fail. Yes, there will always be best graduating. But for the girl to claim she had a first class is a lie from the pit of hell. You bloggers are a huge error to the world. No form of investigation before posting nonsense. |

All these are useless. The communication tax suspension was done by buhari. The tax amendment on imported vehicles had not been put into place. Extending its commencement to a future date has no effect. He should have reverted to old custom tariff as he removed the multiple exchange rate. Timing is of the essence. Most of these policies will strangulate the economy as crime rate will be on astronomical increase. Civil servants will loot like never before. Public institutions will collapse. Undertaking federal projects like Owerri -Orlu road and Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia federal highways.
This will surely open up Imo and bring more developments to the state add owerri to okigwe that he has completed. Hope is getting another term. The only governor that did these roads was Achike Udenwa. |

IVORY2009: You are very funny, most of the cars that are imported from the united States are accidented cars, and the vim are flused out, and repairs are done when the arrive Nigeria, and the sellers would claim the cost of clearing was high, with high selling cost, go to mobile.de and see German branded cars, I know the newer the year of manufacture, the lesser the amount for clearing, na today I dey clear cars I wasn't wrong when I said you know little or nothing. Accident or not, it's still the same duty. There was no place I mentioned non accident cars. Try and import a car even if it's accidented from U.S. Then come back and tell us your experience. I don't know what you mean by "vim flused out". The VIN of any car you import legally from U.S is intact. |

IVORY2009: I live in Germany, and to ship a car from Dortmund to Lagos port is 420 euros, I am not saying your analysis are wrong, then as per clearing of cars in Nigeria, it depends on the year of the car, the newer the year the more expensive the clearing cost would be. did I mention euro there? I stated dollars. That should have told you I was referring to the United States. I believe you know little to nothing about clearing cost else you would know that relatively , newer cars have cheaper duties. A 2004 matrix will a slightly higher duty than a 2013 or 2014 now cos of over age. |

How much do you think this car can be purchased abroad? Cheapest is around $1900 CheapestTrucking and shipping $1800 Old Exchange rate NGN750/$ Old custom duty NGN 1.2m Gives you landing cost of NGN3.97m. Cost of fixes not included. Profit not included. Miscellanous not included. |
