the story in Nigeria today is just like the story of Joseph and pharoah in the bible. Joseph interpreted pharaohs dream, 7years of abundance and 7years of hunger. Gods warning as at the time to pharoah, to store up enough to cover the lean years that was to come. we failed to store up treasures during the time of our plenty, now we are to suffer for our leaders ineptitude in these lean times. #history always have avway of repeating itself

Olu20090:Mr man your reply is weak and very impratical. if there were to be a topic now that says a Nigerian caught in drug deal or internet scam and the name reads boldly OLU. The name checkers association here on nairand will simply and easily assume its the afonjas disgracing nigeria. no one will say it could be the ipods since olu can be coined from oluchi or oluka . so you reasoning is weak bruh, try something more convincing |
Olu20090:I am not surprised by your showboating anyways, chinua achebe said so in his book "there was a country" with this quote: There is no doubt at all that there is a strand in contemporary Igbo behaviour that can offend by its noisy exhibitionism and disregard for humility and quietness”. #by the way, why are you claiming to be Igbo when your moniker reads olu? |
Olu20090:Mr man keep kwayet, the other day on nairaland was a thread stating how onitsha mall was gradually dying. the afonjas mocked us telling all and sundry how Igbo peeps were not used to buying or doing business in an organised setting or saying how broke they were to afford products at the mall. your type was no were to be found to defend the igbos at that thread, to brag to the afonjas how untrue the report was. to remind them bout igbo business or investmen money, instead yalll succumb and accepted defeat on that thread, now you are here again to showboat. gerrareher mehn, by the way i am Igbo. |
Chibuking81:wow I never knew one could trade online, men technology is truly limiting human labour, talk of me being mY own broker. all the same thanks, now I got the info I was looking for. |
with the way most of y'all comments here, I am forced to think that you guys trade stock on a weekly basis. I always used to think that stock investment was something to be done for a long time say at least a year. I am a novice tho and i want to ask. if truly certain people here buy and sell stocks almost on a daily basis, how do you do it without boring your broker ? I believe your broker will be contacted every now and then to buy and sell on your behalf since its an active bizness for you, that must be a very tiring and cumbersome process for newbies to emulate. isn't it? |
Chigold101:baba no mind them, naira landers have been fond of serving us fake gist. not once not twice only to come back few days later to clear the air. my fellow igbo fellas like to show off and brag. to be seen at such vicinity gan dey hype their moral. economy just bad so business fit slow for now . i fear news media oooooor |
tinsel:bug lie BRI. nigerians are that set of people that like to show off. if you sell a shoe worth 3000 at main market , if a customer sees that same shoe in a well tushed boutique packaged wellaz, he will buy the shoe for way higher price and brand your own as counterfeit. that's how Nigeria are irrespective of the tribe. and the typical igbo Boi or girl likes to show off. i am telling you the reason why that place may be empty now is because of the way economy is. people are getting poorer not that osha main market is stealing customers |
crap crap crap. the mall isn't booming now is as a result of the economy, its affecting the purchasing power of the people. come to lag, cold stone ice cream and dominos pizza wey people dey rush wellaz before every weekend. these days their fast food outlets has been looking like a shadow of its former self. you will find fewer cars at the parking lot. dont believed this crap written here, low patronage is something affecting the whole nation. peoples purchasing power has been eroded these past months. look around you and you will tell for urself #fear the news media ooooo |
Adex097:Mr man you are a quack simple. for that statement you uttered shows your level of exposure. your kind will cause great danger to any company if made a head of a finance dept. an economist who formulate policies but doesn't check if his policies are yielding positive results for her company is a quack!!! vent all you want. |
somebody will just visit Google and type nigerians caught in drug deal, then filter the one that contains Igbo or Yoruba so he or she can post the news on nairaland and make FP. its a shame. just look at the yeye link op went to dig out this news so we can engage in a tribal e war."khemrstein.com" okay oh kontinuu |
handysuzy:dude just put his readers in suspense and left them hanging. he started by quoting figures and when it got to the end part where he supposedly hammered, dude just dull the tori. didn't tell us if he now earns triple or if he succeeded in building His own house. for what its worth, op may still be owing the babe loan if 250k......the tori no sweet . no pic of a car or his house, abi na suit we wan use know say e don blow lol |
Adex097:if you don't give a flying f about accounting profits, then you are a quack. simple as that. its on these reports that seasoned economist can use to predict the performance of the stock market. well you are a quack tho so I don't expect you yo know the correlation between the reports and it's effect on the economy |
i used to have respect for this man , not until we got reports of the huge loan he owed union bank. I mean with all his common sense mantra, he couldnt apply any of it to his business. if that bank had gone bankrupt, depositors money would have gone in thin all because of one mans loan defaultment. most of all these billionaires you see on TV, na borrow pose lifestyle them dey live. |
naturalwaves:well I think your set of clients, are people of top class or very high middle class. I am quite sure that if you visited any school along agbara ota road where I schooled, the likes of corona ,loral, faith academy or bells where boarders fee for a class should be about a million or more by now. I can say for sure you will be disappointed by the figures you will hear. maybe lekki residents are generous lol. |
naturalwaves: |
naturalwaves:because u charged 50,000 doesnt mean its the norm. i have siblings that do private lessons, none ever crossed 20,000naira as charges. the teachers are from the school they are in, and their school fees isn't cheap. so don't make it seem like its the norm. |
coulisse:baba no be by school fees oh. Nysc peeps were not paid while I was a student but our school fees was high. even uptill now that salary of 200k na lie . no be by school fees o, some schools na aka gum |
i can bet most of you commenting didn't watch the race. well I did and that don't look like the typical dive you would see in a football or rugby match. according to the replays she just fell on the ground gasping for air. how can someone who planned to dive , be seen gasping for breathe instead of rising up immediately to celebrate her victory. most of you should go watch the highlight to understand better. |
anitank:it was a legal move. whether its fair or not us up to you but according to the rules, she cant be found wanting. |
i was really keen to watch how Chamberlain oguchi will turn this one around. oguchi hasn't really been at his best. its like I am watching a shadow of the that terrorized opponents at the all African games last year. |
vislabraye:yes you are right. during the first two quarters, while they were shooting 3pointers, they had no man under the basket for the rebound . a mistake they corrected in the 3rd quarter. speaking of the defence I don't know why ibekwe didn't start from the onset, one tall very lanky guy. he made enough blocks and was strong in defence. our defence improved immediately he was put forcing the Brazilians to shoot from outside...........the team did well tho, Brazil has always had a good basketball team.

the way certain mischievous nairalanders keep seeking negative news from Kenya so they can get the topic on front page is just the same way CNN or BBC keeps seeking out negative stories about Africa, portraying us in a bad light as undeveloped or messed up continent. whoever it is that keeps promoting this trend on nairaland, pushing any news that's drug related, or scam related so we could start a tribal e war , I urge you to stop. you are setting a bad precedent here. it may seem funny now but i tell you, you are starting a revolution here that will negatively tell on naira land brand in future if you don't nip in the bud. a word is enough for the wise |
Rizin:in other words you are saying its possible so it means the upfront interest will be zero. because the whole account has been cleared when bid goes successful if yes, then that's a new move because no one here has mentioned doing something like that |
zamirikpo:its a move I wan to attempt that's why I came here to ask if its possible. the advantage is that you will make more money. u can throw a bid of 1.1million when you have just 1million in the account as long as you meet the discount amount, that's my point. so instead your money grows at 1m, it grows higher. what I still don't get is where the upfront interest will come from. knowing fully well that my account has been cleared empty. that's a part unite 4real didn't explain |
unite4real:oh thanks . now you are more clearer. I am confident in my chosen bid rate .now u have clearly stated that I can actually invest more than what one actually has in the acct. so long I meet the discount amount. thanks, now it means it makes no sense to say you want to invest with one million naira at your own rate because that's all you have in account when one can actually play smart an invest with something higher if he has donw his calculatiozns well. thanks again bro |
unite4real:thanks for your reply but you still dot get my question. I am not asking if my bid rate will be accepted. I am asking if my bid amount will be accepted even when I have less but have the exact discount amount. my questions lies with the bid amount not the rate. feelamong I still your reply. |
I have a question to ask, feelamong your input will be highly appreciated. my questions goes thus Say for example I want to invest 10,000naira and the discounted rate is 10%. I know fully well that the bank will debit 9000 and leave 1000 as the upfront interest right? Well, what if I had ONLY 9000 in my account but in my t.bills form I wrote a bid of 10,000naira knowing fully well it's just 9000 that will actuallu be debited, do you think the bid will be successful. Because I am thinking of playing a fast move that may pay off nicely. Incase you still don't get my questions: lemme make a story Say Mr chuks walks to the bank to invest in t.bills and on his form he wrote that he will like to invest with the sum of 110,000 naira at a discount rate of 10%. He knows if his bid is successful the government will just debit 100,000 and pay him 10,000 upfront interest. But the thing is mr chuks has just the exact 100,000naira that will be deducted, nothing more nothing less. So Will his bid be successful, yes or no? Advice is needed. |
Okay bro. If salary earners is what u mean, I'm cool with ur school of thought then erico2k2: |
slegerman:What it means is that ; by june u would have earned an 8.16% interest. That 8160 is for one year, divide it by 12months. That's 680naira u'v earned. Its wack. I'll advise you move to treasury bills now the rates are high. Your money will grow @ 22% annually with the current rate in T.bills. That's a massive difference of 14% from the yeye fbn mmf. Infact I no go near this mmf until t.bills rate crash |
feelamong:I'm telling you oh....by next week I'll go down to their office to liquidate my funds. Their online response is too slow. & with 6months t.bills rate @ 18%, ha! When I compare it to the bull shit rate FBN is offering me, I go crazy. I bette cash in now the trend is bullish. |
), I transferred my funds back to money market.
