The Anglican Church of The Pentecost, Diocese of Lagos Mainland on Sunday honoured Lady Tina Okafor, two others with Ezinne title.

The amazing mother was honoured in a grand style in the church during Mother's Day Celebration. According to the Chair lady of Mothers Day/Award Committee, Mrs Nkechi Ezenwa: "Lady Tina was given Ezinne title due to the fact that the Women of the Anglican Church of the Pentecost considered her Marriage of 30 years a success.

"The marriage has produced well behaved Children and Grand Children. A true devoted woman of God. She is never tired of rendering her services to God in her Parish, the Archdeaconry, the Diocese and her fellowship (SFI).

Her family is one of the pioneer members of the church and till date they are not tired of rendering their Services to God," Ezenwa extolled.

She further stated: "She has been a pillar and a huge support both to the younger women and the elderly in the church in the fellowship and in her social work and services. Young women fondly call her Mummy Tee. Again she has been and has remained the only women leader in the parish till date due to her good deeds, kind hearted and love for the women and everyone around her. Little wonder when the opportunity of the Honor of the title of Ezinne came up her nomination was expressly approved by the majority. This didn’t come as a surprise to anyone. We are happy to introduce her to the world as EZINNE on merit."

Talking about her career, Lady Tina is an independent TV Producer and Presenter. She produced and Co-presented a TV talk show on NTA channel 10 Lagos also CEO of CUCIOIC Ltd, an SDG Ambassador on Humanitarian and Social Development. She is an Assistant Superintendent of Police (SUPERNUMERARY) shows her soaring achievements in resume.

The Anambra state born philanthropist is currently a Diocesan Board Member of Lagos Mainland Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Okota Archdeaconry Board Member. She is the Bishop’s nominee at the PCC level and one of the oldest standing members of the PCC of The Anglican Church of Pentecost Okota. She is the women leader; a position she occupied since the Inception of the Church over 15 years ago.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie has landed an endorsement deal worth millions of naira with Rowe Oil company for the nationwide promotion of the company's product.

The deal was signed in Enugu at the launching of company's engine oil with top executives of the company in attendance.

Speaking at the unveiling of the product, the Managing Director, 9th Integrated Energy Solutions Limited, Engr. Benjamin Okechukwu said the event was to officially unveil Pete Edochie as the brand ambassador of Rowe Oil Nigeria.

Represented by his Managing Director during the unveiling, the Chairman of 9th Integrated Energy Solution and CEO Rowe Oil Nig, Chukwudi Nnaji well known as Onwa Igwurubeze said the endorsement deal will run for two years and it is renewable.

"We believe the deal is for a lifetime considering Pete’s age and we believe in the entire Africa not only Nigeria even beyond the shores of Africa that he is the most reputable movie star at present and because of the impeccability of his character and integrity. It is a multimillion naira deal because we know his value and the value of the oil and we are glad we did the deal," he said.

According to him, this chapter summarises what the Lord has done for him and his family. "And He gave us a new son whom we are pleased to name Daniel."

A former Commissioner in Ogun State, Author and politician, Alhaji Suleiman Adebodun Onabiyi is dead. He transited on Sunday 22nd of October as the family confirmed his death.

The elder statesman was known for his grassroots politics and a philanthropist to his community and beyond which earned him a book entitled, "Prince of the Grassroots" a biography of Chief Suleiman ONABIYI Okanlomo of Egbaland.

In celebration of World Teachers' Day, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, announced the immediate employment of 1,000 Ogun Teach Interns to address teacher shortages and improve the pupil-teacher ratio in public schools. Additionally, 2,000 new OGUNTEACh applicants will join the previously engaged 2,000 interns.

The Governor also recognized the exceptional contributions of teachers by awarding bungalows and cash prizes to those who have excelled in their roles. He stressed the importance of education and the state government's commitment to improving the welfare of teachers.

Governor Abiodun outlined various initiatives aimed at enhancing education in the state, including training STEM teachers and implementing an education trust fund to support educational infrastructure. He emphasized that teachers play a pivotal role in society's development.

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has directed security agencies in the State to rid Sagamu and its environs of the menace of cultists and cult-related activities in the State.

The directive came in the wake of renewed clashes among rival cult gangs in the town at the weekend, raising tension and panic among residents of the town.

Meanwhile, security agents are already on ground in the troubled town to restore normalcy.

Governor Abiodun, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, regretted the avoidable loss of innocent lives and wanton destruction of properties by the hoodlums.

According to him, the police and sister security agencies have been given a matching order to deal ruthlessly and decisively with those disturbing the peace of the town.

Reiterating the state government's zero tolerance to acts of brigandage and lawlessness, Prince Abiodun warned that those responsible for this current crisis will find themselves to blame.

He said: " As a responsible and responsive government, we are very sad with the resurgence of activities of criminal elements under different outlawed groups, raising unnecessary tension in the sleepy town of Sagamu and it's environs.

"Let me categorically state that we are more than determined to put an end quickly to these nefarious activities of these hoodlums and enemies of our people; who are hellbent to truncate the peace of our land.

"Let these urchins be rest assured that the State will be too hot for them to operate as we are reevaluating the security architecture for greater surveillance and tactical operation".

The governor noted that the new security approach would be implemented in collaboration with the traditional institution, community and religious leaders, youth groups as well as other critical stakeholders.

Abiodun, therefore, appealed to the people to provide adequate and useful information to security agents for prompt response to prevent future occurrences.

Ogun State Government has officially declared DATKEM Plaza in Ijebu Ode as an illegal structure without an approved plan, stating that it also breaches the state's physical planning regulations. The announcement, made through a statement from the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Engr. Olayiwola Abiodun, highlighted multiple structural defects in the building.

Efforts by the state government to halt further construction on the site had been fruitless, including requests for the structural engineer's assessment of the building's stability, which were ignored.

The statement emphasized the importance of proactive measures in light of past building disasters across the country, some resulting in tragic loss of life. The partial demolition of the non-compliant structure was described as a precautionary action.

Engr. Abiodun challenged the owners to provide evidence of government approval for the construction. He also noted that, for a commercial building of its scale, there must be adequate parking facilities, as required by law.

The building was found to lack stage certification, which is typically issued at various construction phases. Notices, including contravention, stop-work, and demolition orders, were served between May and October 2022, all of which were disregarded.

The statement traced the building's history, with DATKEM Enterprises Limited originally submitting an application for an office building in 2009. However, observations during monitoring revealed significant deviations from the approved plan, including modifications and an additional storey.

Despite multiple warnings and notices, construction continued, leading to the site's sealing in August 2023. An appeal for unsealing was temporarily granted to evacuate belongings, but a final quit notice was served in August 2023.

The Ogun State Government reaffirmed its commitment to citizen safety and vowed to demolish any structurally defective buildings across the state to protect lives.

Igbo Women Assembly Champions Language, Culture across Nigeria 

For the Igbo Women Assembly, it is time to preserve the language and culture of the east for fear of losing their identity and going extinct. 

In a meeting in Lagos to mark the International Mother Language Day observed every 21st of February, the National President of Igbo Women Assembly, Odozieaku Nneka Chimezie, expressed delight that the group has established seven schools in some parts of Lagos. 

"We join the rest of the world also to celebrate our Igbo language. To celebrate this, we tell people we need to promote the language more, especially in our home," she emphasised.

According to Chimezie, the Western world predicted that in 25 years, the Igbo language would go into extinction. "And It's been 10 years since they gave that prediction. From all indications, it seems real.  

"Most parents do speak the English language to their children, and we try to find out why these parents feel their mother tongue is not important for them to learn as well. I feel your language is more important than any other language."

She added that from their findings, shying away from the language and culture is a misplaced priority, and some people feel inferior. "Now we are trying to tell them that there's nothing wrong in teaching your child both languages," says the president. 

With this year's theme Multilingual Education – A Necessity To Transform Education, "We also have registered the Igbo Language and Culture School, where we teach our children Igbo language and culture."

As a sequel to this, the Igbo Women Assembly plans to open an additional three schools to make them 10 on ground. "Students only pay stipends like N1,000 to maintain the teachers. This is our way of encouraging people to learn the language and culture."

One of the indigenous at the meeting and lecturer of the Igbo language at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Maazi Chigozie Bright Nnabuihe, spoke on the relevance of preserving the Igbo culture. 

"It is necessary for identity preservation. The foremost culture anyone has is language. Foreigners say that one understands oneself best in his language. 

"Whatever you teach a child in his language, he will understand it better. One also expresses himself best in his language. It helps a child to be well nurtured, so when he grows, he doesn't deviate from the norm," Nnabuihe added. 

Just like the lecturer, another indigene, Mr. Ezenwaka Joh Paul, is utterly delighted about the resolve of the women's group. 

"It is a very wonderful idea. For those of us who would always strive to ensure the Igbo language does not go into extinction, it's awe-inspiring!" he expressed.

To further get the message across to other indigenous in the country, John Paul lent his voice. "Charity, they say, begins at home," he reminded them. 

"Every Igbo person should try and make sure to implement the use of the Igbo language. Let's go back to the basics. Speak the Igbo language more often, especially at home, so it does not become extinct."

AnyiAnyi Cultural Association charges FG on free, fair election


As the presidential and gubernatorial election is in top gear, a non-profit organisation, AnyiAnyi Cultural Association, has charged the federal government to ensure free and fair elections.

The group noted this in a statement made available to the press through its National Executive Council in Enugu from Monday, February 13 to Tuesday, 14, to deliberate on the nation's state, especially the 2023 national elections.

While commending the government on its efforts for a credible outcome of the forthcoming election, the group hoped that the commitment would be sustained in the interest of "Our electoral democracy and to honour the collective will of the people". 

The group, however, urged the federal government to create an enabling environment for a free and fair election. 

"Freedom for political prisoners easily comes to mind, especially those whose cases have been adjudicated by the courts. This will go a long way to ensure peace in the southeast region of Nigeria," the statement read in part. 

The AnyiAnyi Cultural group appealed to security agencies to see their responsibilities as an opportunity for a new Nigeria, considering the nation's current state.

As noted in the statement, the group urged the Independent National Electoral Committee (INEC) to approach this assignment with renewed vigour.

It added, "INEC should ensure freedom for about 200 million Nigerians who have been victims of high-level politicking by the authorities of power and status quo. 

"We also appeal to the electorate to see this election as a battle between freedom and corruption."

The group also reminded the youths, "Who is waiting for instructions to unleash mayhem on innocent voters, that one who kills his brother will never be a warrior and one who betrays his brother will never be trusted by the man who sent him. The proceeds or monetary reward for instigating violence can destroy the beneficiary".

Nigerians should promote competence and relegate ethnicity with political affiliation using the 2023 elections in the interest of economic stability in the Country. This becomes achievable if Nigerians can emulate Ndigbo, who had never given a block vote to any of their own since the era of democracy in 1999, even when theirs constantly featured on the ballot; this they have continuously done for their belief in the best candidate.

Therefore, looking at the antecedents, manifesto, genealogy and personality of the candidates, it becomes clear who the best candidate is only if we are people of conscience, equity and fairness.

"We appeal to Christians and Muslims who stand by the truth to behold the Star, which could have risen from any direction.

"We discovered that while governors leave the office to enjoy their fat and unbelievable retirement benefits forever, this man ruled his State in this Country Nigeria, but refused even a dime from his State as pension till today."

"He is so passionate to see Nigeria rise again for no personal gain; he wants us to accept him, not because of his origin, but based on his competence, which is clear to all. If our national problems did not know religion, ethnicity or political differences, why trace the solution along the same lines?"

"The man has no structure, but the commoner immediately volunteered to be the structure. He has not assumed office yet but has changed the age-long practice of electoral democracy in Nigeria.

"And that man is Mr Peter Gregory Obi. He has the integrity, capacity and competence to lead Nigeria!"

As a sequel to this, the AnyiAnyi Cultural Group, therefore, called on Nigerians to hit the polling units en-masse to vote for Peter Obi/Datti Ahmed. This is the best opportunity for Nigeria to rise again.

"It is important to note; while other candidates rely so much on their structures and economy to wrestle power as usual, the movement we are witnessing is nothing but a divine mandate," the group emphasised.

These are now the characteristics being exhibited by some of those who have being listening to Simon Ekpa's serial lies, deceptions and blackmails for over 15 months.

In the struggle for an incoming nation, a leprosic Simon Ekpa finds glory in fanthomly calling other persons criminal but himself, while he is leprously infecting his gullible viewership with fabricated mendacity that leaves a people look so stupid and polarized.

It was sickening to to listen to how a certain Simon Ekpa was fooling himself on a social media threatening a Nigerian foremost lawyer Barrister Ifeanyichukwu Ejiofor for no just cause. We note Barrister Ejiofor to be a notable erudite lawyer, who with his team of lawyers have been risking their lives while handling and defending Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other Ipob cases for years in cases which no lawyer wants to touch in Nigeria for fear of their lives being targeted or harmed by Nigerian government forces. Video evidence and court judgments have shown that Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor has on a number of times been a victim of police brutality and so are many of his clients who are being identified as indigenous persons of Biafra.

It is on record, that Barr Ejiofor has been winning all the Ipob cases in Nigeria and has never lost one. For someone from nowhere with a criminal intent interest threatening this great Igbo son (Barr Ejiofor) calling for his head to go down for no just cause, while some ‘gullibles’ are clapping over the threat against Ejiofor is very offensive and unacceptable. And you begin to wonder whether they people making and supporting this threat really Igbo persons? Are some Igbo persons this fickle minded and capricious in nature with no emotional intelligence? How can people be this childishly excited over empty decorated head who has ask you to be paying $10,000 per that he has bought warship from North Korea? How can Igbos so mumuish that an illitrate like Simon Ekpa tells you that he has made a money deposit for fighter jet and you believe him. How can Biafrans be so gullible that an illitrate like Simon Ekpa told you that he has signed a bilateral agreement between Biafra and Government of Finland and you believe him?. How can a people be alive with no discerning mind of their own?... tufiakwa... I refuse to associate with such a sickening set of human beings.

Unofficial sources have revealed GSM call cards worth N5000 to branded with the face of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu, who is seeking re-election next year, along with the APC logo, allegedly to induce voters to support their party come 2023.


Nigerians are shocked and social media has been awash with stories of the call recharge cards of Sanwo-Olu, the APC candidate in the election, who would be going for a second and final term of four years, if elected again. Former Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Protocol Matters, Barr Nonso Henry Nwaebili is vying for House of Representative in Anambra comes 2023, has said that the country is in a state of emergency as the Government has failed Nigerians to provide enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

He added: “I also intend to Make bills mandating and monitoring companies to carry out Corporate and Social Responsibilities, that way much reliance will not be on Government but will create a synergy which energizes the saying that "Nations building is a Joint Taskforce."

Rotary Club of Victoria Island East unveils Rotn Kola Oluyemi as new

Inspired by the plight of the less advantaged persons, Rotarian Kola Oluyemi as a teenager vowed to reach out to those in dire needs, he joined Rotary Club, today Rotary Club of Victoria Island East unveils him as the 34th president of the club as he promised to fulfil his childhood dream to bring succour and support to less privileged people.

Commenting about his background that led him into humanitarian services, Oluyemi said:

"I grew up in a home that I have a Rotarian as an uncle, one incident happened to me when I was small and that really held deep in my heart, I was still a teenager I think 13years and in secondary school, my mother wanted us to clear the house for Christmas so that we would have some decongestion and we took out some clothes, washed them because she wanted us to take them for charity. There were some that we felt nobody would want, so we packed all of them and put them at our trash-can because everything wouldn't fit into the trunk as we only got one truck box. I happened to be playing soccer with my friends when the maintenance guys came to collect waste from the garbage trunk and there were two people by the trunk, they got down and ran towards the trunk box that contain all the clothes that we thought nobody would desire and they opened it and started struggling over those clothes, that really touched me because I never thought that there are people that would really want any of those clothes. So I made up my mind that when I grow up and every time I have the opportunity to render such help, then I would always give. That incident was really what inspires me into giving back to society.

According to the elected president, Oluyemi who went down memory, revealing how it all started for him, he said:

"Before I became a Rotarian I floated a charity organization unofficial with my friend Abiodun Esho when I was in First City Monument Bank and every Christmas my place of work would always be occupied with gifts by all the vendors, so instead of taking those gifts home I would re-pack them with my friend and take them to Makoko. So yearly they always look forward to such give away from us until around the year 2015 I couldn't do the charity and my friend requested to know the reason, I told him I didn't have money, so he suggested that instead of using my money I should join Rotary club and that was how I joined like-minded people in Rotary and together we started giving back to the society.

He added his journey to Rotary club by saying:

"I wasn't even thinking I would become the president as at the time I did, I was just ready to serve. I came trying to make a change and impact lives, so it just so happened that the election came up and they nominated me as president and I got voted in as the president. For me it makes no difference, it only makes the work more intense as regards the direction and the shouldering of all those things that are still hanging on your neck but basically it is the same thing as we are out to affect lives and make a change.

He explained that his tenure will focus on these key issues affecting the communities.

"Basically, part of my target or direction is to focus on schools as a lot of schools especially in Victoria Island do not have good toilets while some have toilets without water so the children just defecate and no one to clean. We have already identified six (6) schools where we are going to be making a change, refurbish the toilets and build new ones for the schools that do not have them. Our focus is not just on schools, we have also discovered some primary health centers in this Eti-Osa that do not have the basic equipment particularly in their maternity suites, so we have been able to identify four (4) of them and the cost of equipping one is roughly 4million if we have to consider things such as the beds, incubators, and all other equipment.

He continued: "We are also doing things such as career talks for children as it is not just about fixing physical things but also about the minds of these children. A lot of children do not know what they want to do or become in the future, and their parents for those not educated and learned are not able to guide them so we are going to those schools giving career talks and leveraging what I call our eco-system of professionals and enlightening people to affect lives positively. So with that, we are also shaping the lives of these children and giving them the necessary information they need to create a future for themselves.
