Speaking for PPSB reporting my own version of the Director speech today, he said we should comply with the directives to submit bank statement of account for those affected in the non payment saga that the money is no longer in the pipeline but available to be paid once the directives has been observed this week as a grace for that. And that he spoke with the governor on our behaves concerning the non biometric no payment issues that the governor agreed to pay us our salary without it, and he gave nursing mothers one thousand naira each for there children.

. Do you actually believe this? Esp the 1k for nursing mothers? I refuse to be gullible abeg.

I am not surprised. The whole bragadoccio was for him to used billions of Rivers State money to Finance the PDP National Convention.

Some people almost bit off my head in my school when I was stating my disapproval for Wike. I hope they're now satisfied with the recent state of events. I pray that God rescues us from this ONE CHANCE we've entered.

there is no news like that, I just search through online. Our dear governor is after the ghost workers not the the genuine ones. He is also after those that suppose to retire but are still in the service always changing their year of birth , I believe that is why international passport, driving license, voters card, and BVN were among the requirements, because each of them have your date of birth and if conflicted with the year you have in computer, that mean something is wrong.

Ok, I sincerely hope so.

Just got news now that some new teachers appointment has been terminated by wike. Pls someone should pls confirm.

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has
directed the immediate payment of April salaries
and allowances of workers in the State on Tuesday,
the 3rd of May.
Governor Wike, who gave the directive at the 2016
Workers’ day celebration in Port Harcourt, said the
slight delay on the April workers’ salaries was as a
result of the ongoing verification exercise, which he
said will definitely be resolved immediately after the
public holiday.
Wike, represented by his Deputy, Ipalibo Banigo
commended workers in the State for their
cooperation and support in the ongoing verification
and staff identification exercise.
Banigo, while appealing to workers in the State for
their continued understanding on the challenging
tax of rebuilding Rivers State, noted that the
request made by the Labour leaders currently
affecting workers in the State will be forwarded to
the Governor of Rivers State and will be addressed.
She said, “His Excellency has directed that
payments of April, 2016 salaries and allowances will
commence on Tuesday. The slight delay in April
salaries occasioned by the staff identification
biometric exercise will definitely be resolved
immediately after this public holiday.”
Earlier, in her speech the State chairperson of
Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Beatrice Itubo while
assuring the State Government of the unflinching
support and cooperation of workers in the State,
appealed to the Rivers State Government to
consider the payment of salaries of staff of the
Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency,
RSSDA, Greater Port Harcourt City Development
Authority, arrears owed TIMARIV workers before the
Agency was disbanded as well as Civil Servants in
various categories in the twenty three Local
Government Councils.
The State Chairman of Trade Union Congress, TUC,
Chika Onuegbu had commended the Rivers State
Government for using Bank Verification number to
eliminate duplicate personnel and ghost workers in
the State.

To all those clamouring mistakes from heads of schools and the lackadasical attitude from the board. Did these heads of schools suddenly developed eye problems and became prone to mistakes just after the supreme court judgement? Did the staff at the various boards developed lukewarm attitude over night? How come all this insensitivity to staff welfare started after somebody won at d court? Take note, you can't beat politicians in their game!

Now it‘s very clear for everyone to understand that the Governor was only pretending to be good at the initial stage.
We should get prepared because we are going to experince more of this in the future.
This Governor who forced himself to power, was never a better choice for Rivers people.

Anyway, my God would NEVER allow anyone to tamper with anything due to me in this job HE gave me. Access bank alert received. One month, no arrears. Seems our arrears have entered voice mail. Is my intuition being proved right? Hmmmm....still praying.

. Ok, I think those that'll collect arrears in March are those who last received for the Month of Nov which was paid in the 1st wk of Dec. So yours might come together with April salary. I'm writing with the belief that you're in Ppsb. #KeepingOurFingersCrossed.

I feel you but I suggest you have a little patience till all these hullabaloo about 'ghost workers' settles down. Mnwhl there's a no that has been posted here a no of times for those in ppsb who need transfer. Can't remember the poster anyway, but just go through the posts.

Well, that's a good point you made but have you thought of the fact that the so-called Board isn't an autonomous/separate entity from the Rivers State Government? Would Wike pretend he's not aware of the salary logjam? Why is it that nobody has resigned for gross incompetence? Why hasn't somebody been fired for causing untold hardships on hapless workers? Why hasn't any official statement been released by the governor himself in relation to the wicked delay of salaries? If he's not part of the problem, why hasn't he addressed civil servants already? Well, I could ask plenty of whys. But I guess the answer lies exactly in the obvious fact that this is really what the "NEW Rivers vision" is all about, right? By the way, what is really new or ingenious about putting old wine in a new wineskin? Or can a leopard easily get rid of the spots on its skin? Indeed, old habits really do die hard. Even the much maligned Amaechi didn't treat us this bad. It's a shame how myopic we Rivers people are. It's a big shame!

No need of going to the board because we where there this morning, and were asked by the pay roll director to go home that they have returned back the list to finance. He also told us that they have taken care of everybody especially the new teachers, that it will not affect our salary

Before this new administration and the first few months after it took the reins of power, workers' salaries were paid hitch-free. After a while, they told Rivers citizens that the wage bill was over bloated, hence they embarked on a gruelling 4-week verification exercise in order to expunge the ever-lurking names of "ghost workers" from the payroll. But from the information I got today, the mixup in the February salaries is based on the fact that they are using the old vouchers to execute payment of salaries. So, the question is: what was the essence of subjecting people to undergo a verification exercise that lasted for over three weeks, if you have to turn around to continue using the old vouchers? As if the pain and suffering weren't enough, we were given a new set of forms to fill out and attach our passport photo, all in the name of verification.
Why are people in authority busy causing confusion in the system? Why?

. I have always said the TRUE colours of this governor will show after elections. A yuwa....Anyway I wouldn't want to say 'This is just the beginning' cos I pray it doesn't continue like this.

. Seems it's true. M colleagus just called me and said he's there and the crowd is something else. Once you confirm that your name is there, you write ur I'd and computer no, bank acct no and bank, then submit to the acct officer. Said it's been on since last week.

Pls how true is this info? Just got it now: PPSB should go to the board an check the list pasted there, if ur name falls there, it means you'll be paid March salary.

That's what I thought. I think those paid arrears were mistakenly done so, and if true, all will be rectified, and d amount deducted from their salary. Let's see how March salary will be anyway.

Haba! Are we still supplying excuses? The audit was to map out those without valid BVN so anyone with valid BVN should be paid by now.. omo,if we can't do this simple math. It just as well we don't deserve to be paid.

I tire oh for all these excuses. Seems this people can't read the handwriting on d wall, or they can, but are pretending they can't see anything. Where are all these rumours even coming from? My friend that works at the state judiciary has not been paid neither does she know anyone who's been paid. So who actually is fooling who?

3rd week in March and yet to receive Feb salary. If we want to be frank to ourselves, we'll remember that during Amaechi's time, some banks have received alert by this time.
