Part 2 hehehhe

I woke up feeling mild cramps at 12:51 am on Saturday.

I tried to time the contractions but I didn't understand the difference between them and when to go to the hospital. No mucus plug and my water didn't break. I didn't want to go and be sent back home. I woke my husband and told him it may or may not be time. I tried to use the toilet but it was like my rectum was blocked.

The cramps was around my waistline and bu*tt. I went to the sitting room and asked my daughter's nanny to heat up water for me. I had my bath and my husband got ready. Now the big question was, to go or not to go to the hospital? I checked Google and realized you have to go if the contractions are five minutes apart. I showed my husband the ones I timed and he said it was 1-3 minutes apart. The pain was mild and we just kept looking at each other.

I said I can endure until 2 am but after a while, I decided to come to Nairaland for help. I was searching for a birth story that involved contractions and remembered mama MercyMercy and I told my husband see oo, we can wait until Saturday evening

Then I became nauseous and went to throw up in the bathroom and my husband said, it's the nausea that's making me uncomfortable

We went back to staring at each other and after a while, I said, let's go and let them check me. My husband grabbed a small baby cot because the hospital doesn't have one and I was like, we are just going to check my bp, urine and cervix nau. He said let's go with it. When we got to the main gate of our street, my husband was shouting at the security to open the gate that I was in labor and I was just looking because the cramps had ceased and I didn't want to tell him it was false alarm

Once he started driving again, cramps resumed and I said, thank God oooo! When we got to the estate that leads to the hospital, the small gate was open but big gate was closed and no security in sight. It was same thing that happened with my last baby.

We parked outside the estate and I grabbed my purse containing my urine sample container and hospital card. Half way down the road, I told my husband, grab the hospital bags in case they want to keep me overnight.

He ran back to get them and we walked to the hospital and knocked for the security to wake up and let us in. There was no light, every where was dark and my husband started fuming. I don't know why I prefer this hospital to the Behind ones around me maybe it was because it was the same hospital I used during my ttc journey. When we got there, we went upstairs and I told a nurse I had bad stomach pains. She brought my card and took me to the doctor. The doctor said, what's the problem and I said I had stomach pains. He asked when I was due and I said it's supposed to be today according to LMP. Then I told him I wanted to use the toilet and was suddenly pressed to go.

He asked that I should be taken to the labor room and I tried to use the toilet but the pains had increased. The doctor checked me and I prayed in my head that I should be at least 5cm gone but he said, I was 9cm dilated and asked if my water had broken. He wore gloves, inserted his fingers in my cervix and brought out a thin layer of mucus and then I felt a sticky water gush down my leg. He left and I asked the nurse, what next?

She said, we go wait and I said for who? And she said for baby to come. I asked her, what should I do? Should I walk around?

They didn't try to shave me or do an enema like the last time. The other nurses were just checking my bags and complaining. I told them I deliberately left some items out because I wanted to buy from the hospital. All they were concerned about was money, and I was getting pissed.

One nurse came and rudely asked why I didn't buy jik and I told her, they should sell to me because it was my intention to buy from them and then she said, no tissues? I said sell to me, I forgot to put them in the bag. I tried to walk but pain was unbearable. I tried to use the toilet and none of them followed me. I was afraid of having the baby in the toilet and I went back to the labor room. I climbed the bed and one nice nurse said, when you feel the pain again, push. I tried to get up and told her I wanted to use the toilet but she said push, it's time. I told her it was toilet I need and at that same time

Two giant ones came out and that nurse complaining slapped my arms twice and I asked her why. She said I didn't bring tissues. I let it go. They put a new underlay and suddenly I felt the need to go again. I didn't even wait, started to try to go and was screaming as the pain trippled.

The nurses were screaming too, wait, na baby, you go tear ooo. I felt a sudden pull through my VJ and baby came out. One nurse grabbed the baby and I raised my head and said, thank you Jesus!

That wicked nurse came again and wiped me something on my face and said lay back. I shouted on her and she said if I have complications I would blame them. She's not the one handling the delivery o, she was handing out items. The nurse handling the birth looked at me and realized she knew me. When they realized I wasn't a teenager, she thought I was, me and my small body

She came over and started acting nice. I made up my mind to report her to the MD because she was a joy killer. The nurse handling the birth started explaining that her colleague was afraid the placenta would go back in when I lifted my head. I said, no problem. They said you have a boy and I said okay. They started cleaning up baby and it took them forever to put diaper on him.

They checked the time and baby was born 2:16, weighing 3.4kg. They checked for tears and thank God, there was none. I was glad God came through for me. The nurse scooped out blood clot, dipped a pad in me to soak out more blood and then put one more pad in and asked me to leave it for a while unless I was pressed. She cleaned me up and they were all trying so hard to be nice. They gave me a wrapper from my bag to tie, cleaned me up and helped me into the ward which had three people. We requested for a private ward and they said it was filled up. We brought in our own baby cot and baby started crying for food. I asked if I could breastfeed him and the nurse said yes. After a while, a nurse rushed back in and said, are you not aware of your status?
Fear catch me

I said, which status? And she said you are A negative.

I told her I knew and we were getting the injection at daylight. She said I wasn't supposed to breastfeed the baby and I told her this is my second baby, I breastfed my first baby after birth. She said I should wait until I took the injection. When she left, we checked Google and confirmed we could breastfeed. I put baby to breast and my foodie son sucked and sucked even though there was no milk. He slept off and I came online to update my teamies. I rested a bit and the hunt for Rhogram injection started.

We are going to the hospital today for me to take it. I didn't report the nurse because she came over, didn't apologize but rubbed my legs and asked if I was okay. She's probably feeling like she's old enough to birth me as per African reasoning and I decided not let her cloud my joy. I let it go.

By 10 am, we paid the bills and left with our sonshine and grandma, aunties, cousins and baby's big sister who came to see us.

P. s now I understand why mamas don't have the time to drop birth stories, e no easy especially with toddlers. Despite the many hands, my daughter suddenly became clingy, asking me to carry her, somebody that loves clinging to her dad or grandma when she is around.

I woke up to pee this morning , realized everyone was asleep and my mind told me, it's now or never oooo.

Glory be to God for his mercies, may his mercy go around and may other mamas have a speedy delivery like mine, 20 minutes.

I pray for healthy babies and quick recovery for moms and plenty blessings for the entire families. I was once called a barren woman but today, I am a mom of two within two years. May God who answered me answer my sisters believing for a child and bless them with multiple babies.

I don hang boot, would have loved one more cute princess and call her Olivia but husband said we are done and after my experience with this pregnancy, I am done too. I can't wait to officially handover to November cappo

Birth story! Birth Story!

Part 1

On the 15th of February, I decided to do a PT test because I was feeling bloated and wanted to sign up at the gym.

I had been exercising and doing all I could to lose some weight but I felt that going to the gym would be better. So, on the 15th of February I did a test and saw two faint lines. Thank God I was home alone. I kept screaming and shouting in disbelief... How? How is this possible? My daughter had barely been weaned over two weeks and I had a period in late January. I called my friend, and she told me to do a blood test. I rushed down to the hospital and the blood test came out positive!
It was a shock! A miracle! I wanted to face the fibroid seedling that has been disturbing me this year and also write my books and publish them. I had no idea we would conceive so fast.

When my husband came back, I asked him to open a shoe box I kept on the table and he thought I wanted to prank him. He said there was no new shoes in the box and I said, I know. Just open it. He opened it and saw the result. He quickly checked the date to be sure it wasn't a prank and his question was, How When We had conceived a miracle baby!
I remembered that I had a dream in December and my sis-in-law gave me a baby boy and said his name was Emmanuel.

My mother-in-law also saw a boy in her dream and she said his name is Emmanuel.

Trouble started around week 6. I had malaria and thyphoid. I couldn't keep anything down and was so miserable. The doctor said they wanted me to wait it out and some people suggested I go to another hospital. I decided to endure and wait it out.

Morning sickness lasted until around Week 14. Saliva o, excess body pain and crazy heartburns continued until week 19. Around Week 16, I started feeling baby's kicks and it got more pronounced around WEEK 18. I hated perfume so much, and air freshner. I hated everything happening to my body but had to endure. Most of the pregnancy symptoms lasted until a few days to delivery.

At week 20, I found out I was going to have a boy and I was happy. Because of the issues I had with ovulation and irregular periods dem bin don say person like me no fit born boy, forgetting that they are not God.

Labor

Everything happening with this pregnancy was new to me and it was like I was a new mom. I didn't know what to expect. LMP said EDD was 22 of oct but the scan dates kept changing, dragging me into November. My body was tired.

In September, I started having on and off cramps and I thought I would port like I did with my daughter but suddenly all symptoms stopped. My mom kept calling to ask how far and I told her to come at the end of the month. When the pregnancy app showed I was approaching 40 weeks, I went to the hospital to ask for an induction and asked for it to be done today, 23rd, but the doctor asked me to come on the 5th of November.

I had a trace of protein in my urine and my legs were starting to swell. With my last pregnancy, I had pre-eclampsia so I was afraid. The doctor asked me to keep an eye on my bp which was still at a good range. I went back home and started walking around the compound, squatting in the bathroom and watching out for labor signs. I didn't know the on and off cramps were labor signs because during my last pregnancy, I lost mucus plug in bits and my water broke at home.

I was waiting for my water to break before I carry my bag to the hospital. My husband kept calling every second we were apart, how far, water don break? Every bathroom visit was a chance to check for mucus plug but there was none.

After visiting the hospital on Wednesday, I started to lose hope of having the baby in October and settled my mind in joining November mamas. On Thursday, the next day, I decided to take my 'operation baby must come' to another level and I trekked to go give my husband snacks at work. As I was passing by one church, I felt a pull to worship with them but realized I was wearing joggers and I am on tinted dreads so I just waka pass. On my way back, I saw two women, looking around, like they were searching for someone. When they approached me, I started to wonder what they wanted and had prepared an answer to tell them, that I was new in the area. Two women don thief my phone before under the guise of asking for an address.

The women approached me and said the prophetess in the church I passed by, wanted to see me. I decided to go with them. They gave me wrapper and headtie to use. When I got in, I realized it was a deliverance service. The woman told me she saw my enemy lying dead in labor room and that baby is due and baby must come out this week. She prayed for me and gave me anointing oil. She prayed on a pure water, drank half and asked me to drink it. I was scared too because I don't like deliverance churches but used faith and believed I was victorious. She asked me to go and be serious with worshipping God.

That evening, my husband and my 2 year old dragged me outside to do more exercise. When it was around 9pm, I started feeling cramps but it stopped. The next day, Friday, I had watery cm and was happy that I will soon start loosing the mucus plug. I rubbed the anointing oil on my belly and went to sleep on Friday night.

we are here still pushing it ooo. Have passed my due date and am asked to still wait till 42 weeks, may be because I was induced during my first,I have tried exercise, long walk, sex and co and am very sure of my Lmp but uptil now no show ooo...

Hi mamas, good evening. Please, is it normal for baby not to kick for 2 days? I'm 35weeks 5days.

Did scan, everything seems to be normal but during the scan of about 10 to 15minutes baby didnt move but heartbeat was regular at 141bpm.

Take something cold and lay on your side and observe. If no movement, go to the hospital.

I give thanks to God for preservation of my life and that of my baby.
At around 39 weeks, I was frequenting the toilet to urinate almost every 5 minutes. It was so stressful.
By then I was already tired of being pregnant and can't wait to have my baby. I was tired of going for antenatals too, the doctor tested me and said the OS abi na cervix is still closed. We met with the MD of the hospital to ask about epidural analgesia, which we added as part of the labour pain reducing options, they also said it is best injected when labour has reached around 6cm or so. I was gearing for 6cm so we can request for it at the hospital, so it was devastating hearing OS is closed, not even at 2cm.
I was doing this labour inducing exercise that I saw on YouTube. I did the exercise for two days, on the 5th day which was a Friday I saw the mucus plug came out, I have been having contractions like mild menstrual cramps, I decided to continue the labour inducing exercise. On Saturday, another mucus plug came out with droplets of blood. I went to my sister's place with my tired body as a way to exercise.
The contraction increased Saturday night/Sunday morning, so was unable to go to church on Sunday morning. My husband and I went to the hospital and met the same doctor that's been handling my file since, he checked again and said OS is still closed, the doctor said I should back home, the nurse said it's because I'm a first timer that's the reason I'm acting drama, in anger I told her I'm not acting drama that I know how I'm feeling, she later apologized. The doctor said nothing to be done, that even if I'm to be induced it will be week 41. I was so weak and could not argue anymore, so we went back home same morning. On getting home, the cramps reduced, I was relieved.
Later that Sunday evening, the cramps resumed and became so unbearable. Since we just returned from hospital that morning, I didn't want to go again, I managed till Monday morning, the intensity of the contraction increased to like every 10 minutes. Around 2pm Monday afternoon when the contraction didn't stop or reduced, I made up my mind to go for induction at the hospital cos I was so frustrated. My family friend and I went to the hospital, while we told my husband to stay back cos we don't want neighbors suspecting I'm going to the hospital.
We met the same doctor that kept saying OS is closed, he tested again, same closed OS, we told him to admit me at the hospital, he was reluctant to do so but later agreed after calling the MD. The MD said he would be around in the evening, I was in the room I got admitted into but was going through intense contraction, my family friend went home which is close by to get my hospital bag. My husband came some minutes later (all the efforts for landlady not to suspect I'm at the hospital proved abortive, you know Naija people and their shine shine eyes ).
