Career / Re: Travelling To Canada And Starting A Pure Water Business In Nigeria. by cjbaba2011: 5:01pm On Jun 02, 2018
eezeribe:
Your case is different...
9 million is big on paper, but when it enters the battle field, logistics will come and choke it...
Manufacturing is not as easy as most people think,it involves a whole network of logistics, most people who succeed in manufacturing actually gained experience and contacts from their days in buying and selling viz wholesale, retail, distributorship, etc
If you can settle in Canada with a PROFESSIONAL JOB,it will be nice...
Otherwise I will suggest you think of another line of business, starting with buying and selling before growing into manufacturing...

I don't know much about manufacturing but I have lived in Canada for 3 years. It is not easy to get professional job here with your Nigeria certificate. You have to know that you have to work survival jobs for sometime while going to school or challenging the examination in your field if your field of study is regulated. Regulated professions are engineering , account , medicine etc. After getting your license to practice then you have look for job.
The found thing about Canada is that even if you have 20 years of experience here in Nigeria they prefer someone that have even one month Canadain experience in that field you may find it hard to get jobs in your profession after having the licence to practice. The is true for all professions expect medical related like medical doctor (although their qualification exam take longer time), nursing, medical lab. But medical course related qualification exams are more harder, costly and takes time.
In unregulated professions is even harder to get a job the employer will prefer someone with grade 12 certificate( equivalent to our secondary school) with experience than you with masters degree.
The hard thing about Canada is that empolyers find it hard to give someone that don't Canadain experience opportunity.

Going to school here and study courses that are demand here is another way to make it here. I have seen someone that read political science in Nigerian and go back to school here and read nursing because is in demand here.

Since you are single you can work 2 or more surivial jobs and will be able to make some money first. Here cost of living is high and tax is high too. But overall is still better than Nigeria. And also don't give up when you come here or give up in your dream and end up working 2 to 3 survival jobs for the rest of your life here.

Cheap car undecided
I read your comments and also the one later that you said that you will never settle down with someone that has that kind of cheap car. I bet you that you don't have a car and possibly can't afford one. Buying expensive cars don't tell you how much someone worth. Also don't expect people to give you something if you can't afford it yourself.

Politics / Re: Ken Saro Wiwa Vs Nnamdi Kanu: Sarowiwa Was Intelligent - Gen. Akinrinade by cjbaba2011: 8:39pm On Jun 26, 2017
The truth is that the current federal structure we have in Nigeria is not working and need to be changed. We need to reduce the power in the central government give states and cities more autonomy like is done in USA or Canada. Give the states or region more power to control and develop their resources. Each region will develop in its own pace. Our current form of federal system give most of the power to the central government. Also we will be open to discuss/dialogue about things that divide us and find a way forward and renegotiate the terms of our unity. Our politicians liar to us when they said that the Nigeria unity is non negotiable. Quebec province in Canada have referendum for independent twice. If federal government want to put the agitating brifans off they should dialogue and possible hold referendum if the dialogue do not work. British did the same with Scotland. If most brifans veto to go they should be allowed to go but if most veto down the referendum to leave then the agitating brifans will be put off for good. Unity by force do not work and is like marriage in which the partners are unwilling and don't want the unity.

Romance / Re: Ladies, Ask That Abroad Bobo These Before You Marry Him. by cjbaba2011: 1:48am On Apr 12, 2017
Is this same in developed countries. I have live in Canada for 2 years now. Is virtually impossible to buy house without borrowing money for your bank. We buy slot of this using credit card because interest rate is very low and banks are willing to give you credit. There is nothing bad in buying your car or house in credit is just that you will know how to manage your credit and pay your mortgage/payment on time.

Considering jobs is a bit but to get licencing for your profession here. Like if you are engineer like me from Nigeria you have to take some exams before you are academically qualified to practice here. So for some people it that them 2 or more years to do so. So they will be working survival jobs. I work security jobs and home support worker here before a start my professional exams to enable me to work as engineering here. The true is that most of this jobs are easy and you can make between $1000 to $2000 every 2 weeks doing two survival jobs. Most people I know from Nigeria that are here do not practice what they read from university.
So doing odd jobs do not need that you can't get married and feed your family.

The true is that with the current model of our system of government thing will never work. Why will we not give the regions the power to handle there natural resources. If we are practicing real federalism where each state is independent and managed there own resources thing would have been better. The problem of Nigeria start where federal takes over the control of the natural resources from the regions. Having live in Canada for sometime I notice the each province (states) are independent and manage there own resources. The province also manage there own electricity generation, education, have different tax system. We have to realize that each states is unique and will grow at its own pace. The problem with Nigeria is also that states are created for political reason that why some states is not economical viable. We need to go back to regional government or recreate states so they will be economical viable and reduce power in the federal level. In Nigeria we look up to federal government for everything. Most states just wait when the federal alocation will come. The will never make us productive. Canada, Australia and other advanced countries used this system and it works. Our productivity as a nation started to decline when the power was take from the regional government to the federal level. For people that is afraid that the unity of Nigeria will be compromise by this system of giving more power to the regions. The unity of any nation will always be better if the terms of the unity is negotiated and accepted by majority of the people. Like in Canada Quebec province is like a nation within Canada. If Switzerland so province are also like that. Power and responsibilities that is in the federal level in Nigeria is so big that it can't be manages effectively that why states will be better is more power and responsibilities is given to them.
I will end my argument by saying power in all forms corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely like the federal system we operates. Thank you.

Education / Re: Nigerian Universities With The Fastest Masters Degree Programmes by cjbaba2011: 7:11pm On Apr 23, 2015
My dear do not consider UNIZIK if u want to do ur Masters in Electronic and computer Engineering. I am a victim there my Reg is 2011 and we are still doing our defence(internal). For Master in the department u will do three(3) internal defence(Ist, 2nd and 3rd) , one faculty defence and an external defence. Each of the internal defence u pay ten thousand naira for it. And they panel may told u to come back and re-defence (repeat) the defence(Note this is very common u will see someone repeating 1st , 2nd or 3rd defence many times). The department fix defence at most 2 times in one year. They have backlog of people( like 2010, 2011,2012,2013,2014 sets). For 2010 set only 8 has graduated, for 2011 set only one person(he finish last Dec) . 2012 and all other sets above have not even finish course work. When u are through with department u will wait for at least 4-6 months for them to fix ur faculty defence( u may also be told to repeat faculty defence it very common ). Then u will have to also wait for ur external defence. The PG in department of electronic and computer engineering will just waste 3 - 4 year or more of ur life. Many people realize if after their course work and quit.
