meforyou1:Oguta is among my desired places to visit before the end of this year. |
chino11:The type of extortion we suffered by hemp smoking, arms wielding thugs and children on this road yesterday was terrible. At a point, even girls and women were joining to block every road in front of every compound extorting N100 each from every vehicle, there were more than 25 small check points passing through the villages of Umuapu-Umuokanne. This is a very wicked act, very very barbaric, what is this nation turning into? |
Rumuokoro is a very important junction in Port Harcourt city. This junction connects the East-West road to northern and southern portions of Ikwerre road and many other parts of the city. There has always been a congestion of vehicles trying to link several areas through Rumuokoro, and the experience is not always funny. The activities of both transport operators who brazenly flaunt the laws and load their vehicles along the road, and petty traders who set up mini shops all around the road both constitute a choke on this road. So, how can the state government under Nyesom Wike succeed in winning this traffic fight? Suggestions like a new flyover has been muted, as well as the ongoing demolition of petty traders shops, but we need more action to be taken to rid this place of long vehicle queues and its attendant delays to human and materials movement. A normal neighbourhood in Achara layout, Enugu. New Street, new houses, new occupants.
|
The most surprising thing here is not the huge number of buildings, its the speed of construction. This house started 3 months ago.

Houses grow here like flowers ![]()

The suffering is so openly displayed that it is surprising why people still keep quiet. Thousands of people drive pass this roads everyday and its like a journey through hell. Many have been robbed, (openly) beaten, and money openly extorted before you will be allowed to pass. Both the federal and state governments are completely unmoved, the people of Umuapu, and all other people unfortunate enough to try and pass through this road has resigned themselves to fate. Imo state government even refused to do the small side road passing this community, as the federal government abandons us here. In the following pictures from the blog link below, you will see young men shamelessly blocking the damaged roads and demanding money before you could drive through. You would have spent at least N500 to pass the many illegal toll gates. How else do I pass this dangerous spot, if I am to get to Rivers state from Imo? Any helicopter services? erico2k2:You are correct, but let me add that even when you use equal ratios and a mechanized mixing system, the results might still come out wrong if the operators are bad or packing wrongly done, many blocks crack at the point of lifting after they have been made. And this is why I am careless about manual or vibrated blocks, some vibrated block makers will add more sand and hope the vibration will somehow make the blocks stronger, |
chuche60:No, those paying on installments are not to be penalized. I will not like to collect money from new people who wants to pay and pay back those who are owing. |
EgunMogaji:I will try as always, but nobody will want to risk government chasing him around because of a failed work, so they might refuse. |
EgunMogaji:And that is why structural guys are adding as much columns as possible for supports. And even the strong solid blocks we are talking about, are they cheap? What made them produce the lower quality is us, when the owner beats down the whole prices? |
What we want now, is someone to walk the talk. Someone to bring his land, money and lets build him a house with all these methods we are describing her, I know it will work perfectly, but who will bell the cat? 1. Foundation without over-site concrete 2. Slim partitioning walls made with anything but Nigerian bricks 3. Clay pot decking 4. No chain lintels 5. Aluminium parapet fascia 6. Aluminium roofing supports Volunteers wanted urgently ![]() |
erico2k2:Yes I think every little change to be constructed should first be calculated, drawn, approved before being implemented on site. |
eagleeye2: u9johns:I will keep all of us informed as soon as negotiations start to mature, we are still talking price, size, and other conditions. |
NL1960:Yes, I know the company and they are here in Irete. Their piece of land is not too far from where I want to acquire. They are also my close neighbors at Ogbeke Nike, Enugu. |
PeoplesArmy:Negotiations for price and other conditions are underway, We are set to make this really big! |
spygadgets:Ok, in order to get everyone to pay up in time so we can start all our promised works like the culvert and the royal palms, it is becoming necessary to fine everyone who has not paid up by end of this month a 10% charge on the amount they owe. |
20pounds:Enugu is in good hands. |
Ezegozie:I tell you, things dey happen. |
mandax:Really? |

You would not believe that this is a part of Nigeria. This is a village in the center of nowhere, but the roads here are so clean, so paved that you would think you are in the US. All the gutters here have drains, both sides of the road. There are gutter crossings, even where there are no compounds, ha! The culverts are neatly done, the roads have never seen any potholes, this is serenity redefined, but where is this village? This is Udi, Enugu state of Nigeria. The job of our elected officials should be the provision of needed amenities for the masses as well as taking care of their well-being. The job of the populace is to draw the attention of government to their suffering and as well, pay their taxes and rates, as well as being law abiding. The job of the press is to draw the attention of both the government and the governed to situations which they both seem to forget, or are tired of. What do you think about the condition of roads at Umuguma, Owerri, Imo state? See more pictures here.... http://amazingviewpoints..com/ cc. lalasticlala, ishilove, afam4eva
