Claireenny: @Claraben: Please, which university did you get your Masters from? I applied to the University of Saskatchewan for a PhD in Nursing as well and got admission but I was informed that I would take make-up classes. I was not given any funding either, were you? Hello Claireeny, Msc from University of Worcester, UK. I need to offer additional courses too. Yes I got some funding and also a graduate award. Sent you an email. |

4evaco: I think you should send your transcript if it is one of the requirements. I didn't send mine to my school and I was given a conditional offer so I had to quickly request the schools I attended to send them so that I can meet the conditions before applying for visa.
Okay, my status is reading department recommend and I have also received an email to that effect. However, I am also supposed to receive an official letter from the school graduate commission which I can then use for my visa application. I am wondering if I need to start sending my transcript now or do I wait till the official letter comes? Can you please help me out (any one in the thread who is knowledgeable in this area) as school starts end of August and I wouldn't want to waste time. Thank you so much dear sister and congratulations on your admission. I will do just that. Hope we meet someday. |

Tormentor: I had this same problem. Although I didn't get interviewed for my course, but I did not wait for long after my application.
I sent them a Mail stating hw keen I was to study in the term I applied for (fall winter spring etc) I also stated how long Nigerias visa process takes.
I urged them to give me feedback so I can plan accordingly. I got the letter in less than two weeks.
Hope this helps. Was the response positive? What university? Mine is a PhD application. |

Glowingx: In same boat but for UG, anyway the academic advisor said course outline when submitted to admission is dispatched to department for evaluation and approval. Might take 6-8 weeks or less depends on how fast admission gets result back. Hope you find this useful. So be calm and hopeful Thank you so much for your support. Must confess the waiting is not easy. |

Mofpearl: Uni of Manitoba? You can email them to confirm if they received it and if that's what they were asking for. Try to stay calm and positive. On a lighter note, it nice to meet someone who studied nursing as well. University of Saskatchewan, so pleased to meet you you here too. Austacus: If you eventually get the Ph.D. in nursing admission which am pretty sure it will attract full funding and graduate assistant job then you are super lucky . Keep praying and praying and praying Ph.D. is a sure bet for visa 8 out of 10 usually get their visa approved within weeks I am 100% sure Austacus: If you eventually get the Ph.D. in nursing admission which am pretty sure it will attract full funding and graduate assistant job then you are super lucky . Mofpearl: Do you have copies of your course outline? I have already sent the course outline Thursday last week, no response from them yet. Been checking my status and it is reading complete, ready for review. This was before I sent the course outline. |

Austacus: Alright bro Take your mind off nursing or any medical related courses because even Canadians don’t obtain a spot in the Canadian medical school. They usually travel abroad for it, very few of them do it in their country It’s very competitive and medical education in Canada is very expensive Talking about Nursing admission, I applied for a PhD in Nursing program at the University of Saskatchewan last year October. I submitted all required documents. However, last week I got a mail from the school requesting for additional documents that has to do with the courses offered at my masters degree. I emailed my tutors and one of them wrote back assuring me that all the additional courses were met at the masters degree program. I have emailed them attaching the tutor’s email and all the courses and the learning outcomes offered at the masters program. I have not heard from them yet. I am really scared as I do not know my stand now. |
