Politics / Were Chadians With PVCs Arrested At The Border As Charly Boy Claimed? Fact Check by Clevite(m): 7:01am On Feb 25, 2023
Were Chadians with PVCs arrested at Nigerian border as Charly Boy claimed?

A viral post on social media claims that 100 trucks conveying over 1 million Chadians to Kaduna were arrested ahead of the presidential elections.

On Thursday, Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy shared the post via his verified Instagram handle, @AreaFada1, to his 192k followers.

In the post, the popular songwriter claimed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo had intercepted 1 million Chadians from entering Nigeria to Kaduna to vote.

Oputa added in the post that the Chadians had permanent voters card (PVC).

“Obasanjo Blocked 100 Trucks Containers Carrying Nearly 1Million Chadians From Entering Nigeria To Kaduna To Vote APC,” the post reads.

“Obasanjo received a call from a junior immigration officer (name withheld) that unknown 100 trucks carrying over 1 million Chadians got access to the Nigeria border and were heading to Kaduna.

“Obasanjo responded immediately around 2 pm in the afternoon, Obasanjo called the immigration boss but no response from him, Obasanjo asked his personal security officials to block all the roads leading to Kaduna and finally, the trucks were captured.

“The trucks with no plate number have nearly 1 million Chadians all with Nigeria PVC when they were interrogated, they pretend not to hear English, Obasanjo ordered that the PVC be collected and destroyed immediately.

“Chad President was phoned immediately by Obasanjo and he denied knowing about such incidents, since there was no place to keep such a multitude of people, the trucks were ordered to turn back to Chad.”

On Instagram, the post attracted over 9,925 likes and 1,635 comments as at the time of this report.

Various news platforms and blogs also shared the post.

VERIFICATION

Nigeria shares a border with Cameroon to the east, to the west with Chad, and to the west, is bound by Benin. Niger is to the north of Nigeria while the northeast of Nigeria is bordered by Lake Chad, according to World Atlas.

Comparing the borders, the one between Nigeria and Chad is the shortest, it runs for 54 miles as it is easier linked to Borno state.

According to the post which claims that 100 trucks were filled with nearly one million Chadians, doing the maths would imply that about 10,000 persons occupied each truck.

From the pictures posted with the Instagram post, none of the trucks seems to have the capacity to convey 10,000 individuals.

TheCable also subjected one of the pictures to Google reverse image search which showed that the image is old. One of the pictures has been online far back as 2020.

To confirm the arrest, TheCable also contacted Kaduna’s police command. Mohammad Jalige, the spokesperson of the command, denied the incident.

He said the post was false as the police would have released an official statement if such ever happened.

“This is not true. We are not aware of anything like that. It doesn’t even make sense. The last time 15 people were arrested, it was all over the news not to talk of 1 million, ” he said.

VERDICT

The viral post by the popular entertainer, Charly Boy is false.

Politics / 2023 Poll:Every Christian That Votes For Obi Is Voting For Tinubu –Daniel Bwala by Clevite(m): 2:31pm On Feb 24, 2023
As Nigerians finalize their preparations for the 2023 presidential election, which will be held tomorrow, Saturday, February 25, Daniel Bwala, a member of the Atiku-Okowa presidential campaign council (PCC), has stated that every Christian vote cast for Peter Obi is a vote for Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mr. Bwala claimed that Tinubu was instrumental in Peter Obi’s success at some of his campaign rallies across the country because he knew that a vote for the latter would benefit him.

The PDP presidential campaign spokesman, speaking on Channels Television’s “The 2023 Verdict,” stated that he received an intelligence report several weeks ago that Tinubu was knowingly paying people to attend Obi’s rallies in order to keep the Labour Party campaign going.

Bwala said, “I’m speaking about Peter Gregory Obi because the questions we get usually suggest that Obi is a modern phenomenon and that he is this and that. Let me even touch on religion, and I’d like to address my people. In this campaign, he used religion to stir people’s emotions and sentiments.

“On one side, there is jihad, and on the other, there is a Christian war. Let me tell you right now that every Christian who votes for Peter Obi is also voting for Tinubu. That is why APC is keeping an eye on things.

“I received information not more than three weeks ago that Bola Tinubu and the APC were paying people to attend Obi’s rallies in order to keep him in the race. They believe that as long as Obi’s campaign is active, he will steal PDP votes.”

Politics / INEC Probes Claim Of PVCs Found In Anambra Forest by Clevite(m): 1:54pm On Feb 24, 2023
Okoye wondered how PVCs were found in millions for a local government with about 200,000 registered voters.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has started an investigation to verify claims that Permanent Voter’s Cards were recently found in a forest in Anambra State.

A viral video some days ago showed where numbers of PVCs were being displayed with the claim that a hunter found them while hunting inside the forest in Nnewi North, Anambra State.

But speaking on Channels Television’s The 2023 Verdict on Friday, INEC’s National Commissioner, Festus Okoye, questioned the legitimacy of the claim, calling on those with the claim to come and provide more information on where and how they found the PVCs.

“We are aware that there are some people and some forces that want to delegitimize this particular election. Now the total number of registered voters in that particular local government hovers around 250,000 but I watched that video and they were talking about millions of PVCs that were found.

“Incidentally, in that particular local government, we have almost over 99% of PVCs already collected. Now we have instructed our Resident Electoral Commissioner and Electoral Officer for that particular local government to make a report to the DSS and to the police.

“And then those people responsible for that particular incident must be invited, let them tell us where they found those PVCs, how they found those PVCs because we need to investigate and know whether the PVCs are from the Commission or whether some people cloned those PVCs in order to delegitimize the work of the Commission and also delegitimize the electoral process,” Okoye said.

Assuring that the INEC has made necessary reports on the issue, Okoye wondered how PVCs were found in millions for a local government with about 200,000 registered voters.

He said the people that found the PVCs and the radio station it was allegedly displayed should be called in the Department of Security Services for more explanations.

“So, if the PVSc were found in millions for a local government that registered just around 200,000 then some people have a question to answer, let those who found the PVCs and the radio station where those PVCs were displayed go to the DSS and police and make a report and if they don’t make that particular report.

“We have also instructed that the report should be made and they should be called in to come and account for how they found the PVCs because we have not heard of a situation where hunters are now hunting PVCs rather than hunting animals in the forest. So let them come and explain to us how they came about hunting PVCs in the forest,” Okoye added.

These people called Obidients are more touchy and aggressive now that the fate of Peter Obi their candidate is getting closer to be determined at the poll. They seem to have seen defeat staring them in the face. Now they are looking for just anyone to transfer their aggressions to. They see any pastor that does not join the craze of pulpits endorsements they have been vigorously seeking for Peter Obi as enemies. They are just going for any Pastors that cross their mind to cancel them out.

Politics / RCCG Trends As Adeboye, Kumuyi Keep Mum Hours To Presidential Election by Clevite(m): 11:37am On Feb 24, 2023
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) led by Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye has been trending on social media in the last 48 hours over the clergy’s ‘refusal’ to openly endorse any presidential candidate ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Naija News reports that some renowned pastors and prophets in Nigeria have openly told their congregants their preferred presidential candidates and as well urged them to vote the same.

Data from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) earlier, revealed that 93,469,008 Nigerians registered and are ready to vote in the coming elections. The commission, however, on Thursday updated its portal, noting that a total of 87,209,007 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) were collected by eligible registrants for the elections.

As it stands, over 87 Million Nigerians are expected to go tomorrow to exercise their civic duty and elect the next president of Nigeria. Saturday’s election is for the Presidential election and National Assembly candidates.

However, less than 24 hours before the poll, Adeboye and his counterparts, the Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), William Folorunsho Kumuyi, and Founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (a.k.a Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, have all remained silent about the Saturday election.

Recall that the major contenders for the presidential election on Saturday are the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi.

Hours into the poll, Nigerians are worried that Adeboye, Kumuyi and Oyedepo ‘shunned’ the most critical event that will shape the country in the next four years.

Naija News understands that a series of speculations are made on social media about why the clerics have refused to speak God’s mind since they all claim to hear from him.

It could be recalled that RCCG’s Adeboye was criticized in 2015 for allegedly endorsing President Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, to lead the country.

It was said that prayers were held for Osinbajo at the church and he was admonished to remain a good ambassador of the church while in office. Sometime in 2017, Osinbajo, who is a spiritual son to Adeboye and a Pastor in the RCCG, said his spiritual father permitted him to accept Buhari’s offer to be his running mate in 2015.

Adeboye, however, has since debunked the claims that he endorsed Buhari and Osinbajo. Naija News observed that Adeboye usually receive presidential candidates, like his counterparts in his Church and would pray that the will of God be fulfilled in their ambition.

However, since top Christian and Muslim clerics are already informing their followers who to vote for come Saturday, there are many anticipations that Adeboye, Oyedepo and Kumuyi will also speak their minds, or better still reveal what God has told them about the poll.

Politics / Re: PDP Collapses It's Structure In Kano Into NNPP by Clevite(m): 10:27pm On Feb 22, 2023
Kwankwaso was in PDP in 2019 and together with Atiku fought APC in Kano State. Kwankwaso left PDP and since then PDP has been in a near comatose condition in Kano. The remnant of PDP now collapsing its structure into NNPP is more or less a return to 2019 status quo when Kwankwaso fought APC in Kano using PDP as his battle armour.

Little or nothing has changed. It only amounts to a bigger minus to Atiku's chance all the same and nothing more. It less affects APC Tinubu's chance in Kano State.

The only difference now is the Buhari's factor of 2015/2019 that is not so much there for APC. But still, none of Kwankwaso and Atiku is as highly influential as Buhari in the North to be able to pull the kind of electoral clout that Buhari had pulled.

All the polls can be damn wrong. This is because none of the 'polls' can take the place of INEC that has its presence in 774,000 local governments in Nigeria. None of the polls has in its custody the register of over 93.4 million eligible voters in Nigeria. In fact, none of the polls conducted its polls in all the 176, 876 polling units scattered across Nigeria. Above all, none of the polls has its independence and transparency guaranteed in electoral matters like INEC.

Obi has a headstart advantage of potential lead in two whole regions: South East and South South. He also has a higher advantage over Kwakwanso as regards spread votes into some other regions. He will surely have some pockets of votes in South West States, North Central States and in Christian communities in some North West and North East States. But these will not give Obi an overall win and the needed two-third spread.

Kwakwanso obviously has his stronghold in Kano and a higher potential votes spread in some other North West and North East States than Obi.

Obi will surely have an overall higher votes than Kwakwanso.

I pick Obi to come 3rd and Kwakwanso 4th in the overall results nation-wide.

Politics / Soyinka Disowns Viral Political Quotes On Social Media by Clevite(m): 7:06pm On Feb 19, 2023
Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has disowned viral political quotes attributed to him, on social media.

One of the fake quotes reads: “Quote me anywhere, Nigerians don’t need the likes of Atiku and Obasanjo to lead them again. We have tasted (sic) the two: Atiku Is Corrupt and Obasanjo is a liar. Both of them are greedy and self-centred…”

Another says: “Anybody, any cabal, any Viju milk activist, attempting to humiliate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, must have me to contend with. An average PDP man is angry with Asiwaju because he brought them to their knees. If anyone thinks that bringing down Asiwaju is his project, that mission will not only crash but it will boomerang. He owns Lagos! I hear you! Ask your grandfather and parents how they acquired your so-called family land. Is it God that allocated it to them?…”

But the elder statesman, in a statement on Sunday, disowned the quotes and described them as falsehoods.

He said, “I did NOT at any time or any occasion issue such statements. It is simply the works of peddlers of FAKE News and FALSEHOOD, who profit from misinformation to gain political advantages.

Average Penis Size Has Increased In Last Three Decades —Study

By Jerusalem Post Health & Wellness
Published: FEBRUARY 19, 2023

This could be an even bigger problem men did not anticipate having.

The average length of a penis has increased by a large percentage over the last three decades, according to a new study published last week.

According to the study, which was published in the World Journal of Men's Health, the average penis size has increased by 24% since 1942. Researchers from departments of urology and public health programs in the United States and Italy compared studies between 1942 and 2021 to better understand this phenomenon.

Led by Michael Eisenberg, MD, who works at Stanford University's School of Medicine, his team conducted research to find key answers: Is the average penis size growing? And if so, what is causing this? Using his knowledge from his time as a urology professor in addition to practicing medicine as a male fertility and sexual function specialist, Dr. Eisenberg's team made conclusions.

More than 75 studies were sampled over a lengthy period of time, in which measurements were gathered of erect joysticks across more than 55,000 men worldwide.

Can geographic location determine one's penis size?
According to researchers, data pertaining to penis length showed variety based on one's geographic location. However, controlled data for each region (analyzing region, subject age, and surrounding population) revealed that the average penis length increased by 24% in the last 29 years.

According to Scope, a blog produced by Stanford University's medical programs, Eisenberg sees a cause for concern. The study intentionally set out to prove an increase in length, after realizing that plenty of studies had been conducted on sperm count and testosterone decreases, congenital birth defects surrounding the penis, the improper descending of testicles, and so on.

"We looked at flaccid, stretched, and erect lengths and created one large database of measurements. What we found was quite different from trends in other areas of male fertility and health. Erect penile length is getting longer, from an average of 4.8 inches to 6 inches, over the past 29 years," Eisenberg told the Scope blog in an interview.

Eisenberg's primary cause for concern is the major growth in a relatively short period of time.

"Any overall change in development is concerning because our reproductive system is one of the most important pieces of human biology. If we're seeing this fast a change, it means that something powerful is happening to our bodies. We should try to confirm these findings and if confirmed, we must determine the cause of these changes,"
Eisenberg added.

So, what is it that caused this rapid growth below the belt? Researchers believe that chemical exposure from pesticides and even hygienic products could have a greater impact on genetic hormonal makeup.

"These endocrine-disrupting chemicals — there are many — exist in our environment and our diet. As we change our body's constitution that also affects our hormonal milieu. Chemical exposure has also been posited as a cause for boys and girls going into puberty earlier, which can affect genital development," Eisenberg said.

Now, the researchers have their work cut out for them. Next steps, according to Eisenberg, will require looking at patterns in the reproductive health systems of females and children.

Tinubu's spot-on performance in that dialogue session was like a cold water to a deeply thirsty soul. It was so soothing and relaxing. To say his conceived intervention to Nigeria's problems is excellent can not be an overstatement.

However, the NESG dialogue did not come to me as a surprise, I had the positive impression about Tinubu as soon as his Manifesto document was out then and I ran through it. I still adjudge his manifesto as the best among those of the frontline candidates that I have read.

He only reinforces further my impression by his practical articulation of ideas at the NESG dialogue. To believe otherwise will be needlessly bias. And that would be most unfair to the man Tinubu.

Politics / El-Rufai: Naira Scarcity Crisis Plot For Interim Govt Led By Retired General by Clevite(m): 10:57pm On Feb 16, 2023
BREAKING: Naira scarcity crisis plot for interim government led by retired general, says el-Rufai

Nasir el-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna, has alleged that the scarcity of naira notes and petrol is part of a plot to disrupt the elections in order to ensure an interim government takes over.

In a state broadcast on Thursday, el-Rufai said the current cash scarcity is part of efforts to ensure that Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), loses the election.

“It is important for the people of Kaduna State, and indeed Nigeria, to know that contrary to the public pronouncements and apparent good intentions, this policy was conceived and sold to the President by officials who completely lost out in the Gubernatorial and Presidential Primaries of the APC in June 2022,” El-Rufai said.

“Once Asiwaju Bola Tinubu emerged as the candidate in June 2022, and subsequently did not pick one of them as his running mate, this currency redesign policy was conceived to ensure that the APC presidential candidate is deprived of what they alleged is a humongous war chest.

“They also sought to achieve any one or more of following objectives: Create a nationwide shortage of cash so that citizens are incited to vote against APC candidates across the board resulting in massive losses for the Party in all the elections;

“Ensure that the cash crunch is so serious, along with the contrived and enduring fuel shortage existing since September 2022, that the 2023 Elections do not hold at all, leading to an Interim National Government to be led by a retired Army General;

“Sustain the climate of shortage of fuel, food and other necessities, leading to mass protests, violence and breakdown of law and order that would provide a fertile foundation for a military take-over.”

Politics / Tinubu Rally: Adeleke Under Fire For Withdrawing Market Women’s Vehicles by Clevite(m): 8:26pm On Feb 12, 2023
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke is under fire for withdrawing the official vehicles of market women that attended the presidential rally of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Osogbo.

The Nation reports that the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign rally was held at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo on February 2, 2023.

The market women including their leaders attended the rally.

All the official vehicles of the women across the 30 local government council areas of Osun State and the Area Office were subsequently withdrawn by the government.

It was gathered that the state government officials in the company of police operatives and some civilians forcefully retrieved the vehicles from the women.

The Iyaloja General, Chief Awawu Asindemade, confirmed the development to our correspondent.

She disclosed that the official vehicles withdrawn by the Adeleke administration were given to the women by the administration of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Asindemade said: “We are not a bastard, we attended the rally of Tinubu in Osun State; it is our choice and we have the right to it. We back Tinubu’s presidency, it is our turn. We have lost the chance for 60 years running now; he will emerge by God’s grace.

“The present government of Osun met us in the state; we worked with his elder brother (Isiaka Adeleke) who was the governor. They did not collect the official vehicles of other unions but they collected ours.

“We work with the government of the day; I attended the swearing-in programme of Adeleke and several programmes of the new government.

“Before they got to power, they created several factions of their market women that they are now recognising. He will not be the first to be the governor and not the last, history will always be there.”

The leadership of APC, Osun State through its Acting-Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal described the withdrawal of the vehicles as insensitive, inconsiderate and vindictive.

Meanwhile, the caretaker chairman of PDP, Dr. Adekunle Akindele, in a statement, said that they should not be dragged into the “market women union tussle”, saying, “It is a bid to seek sympathy.”
