With whatsapp video chatting now available, it is highly recommended you video chat with anyone you trading with.

While this is impressive, it's still a travesty how Western Union and other remittance companies are taking advantage of Nigerians living abroad. They exchange at a rate of 375/$ plus fees which actually decrrases the rate to around 345/$, they take that same dollars and sell it in the black market at the rate of 490/$. If this is not exploitation then I don't know what is.

Bros na 410/$ I dey usually buy from my sellers and co-workers, even see my thread that's my advertised rate. The guy screwed up, but to say you will remit the naira funds after a week at your own rate get as e be. At worst, deposit the exact USD cash next week.

Me wey dey find dollars. Make I serve as arbitrator for this matter; Elot wire the money to my US Bank account today at the rate of 425/$ and I will fund Tooltip's naira account today. This solves two problems:
(1) Elot wouldn't have to withdraw the cash as the money will be sent via email, phone or wire transfer to any US Bank of his choice. Also, the transaction wouldn't look suspicious as they can trace where the money is going to. Or you can send with your other accounts in bits.

(2) Tooltip wouldn't have to wait till next week to get back his money nor would he settle for a 420/$ exchange rate.

Just wanted to know how possible it is to have a foreign whatsapp number that also receives regular phone calls and text message. You guys said it's possible, I no need expo, just prove it by calling on whatsapp and making a regular phone call with the same number.

No fake international number can be on whattsapp. No way! The only way to make sure the person using international number is actually international. Search the number up on whattsapp. If it is there, then it is the real one. If not, change your thinking sharp sharp. Don't let anyone fool you with international number. having it as well.. But I'm right here in naija. It's just a way to reduce cost of calling those abroad.

Well said. To make sure the person is really abroad, send them a message on whatsapp, then also make a phone call. There's no way to have a foreign whatsapp unless someone overseas sets you up with the confirmation code. But then they will be unable to receive phone calls or text messages. I've come across naija scammers sending text messages with fake American numbers whenever I list laptops on craigslist, I just check whatsapp and try calling their numbers, of course neither goes through.
