First Work Will Test Our Patience

First work is quite hard for some to get. Frustration builds up. The reason you are not getting your first work is because other guys have more experience and reviews than you. Clients would prefer to go for an experienced person than a fresher unless ofcourse the price parameter crops up. Experienced person always bid at the higher range where beginners provide them at cheap rate to get reviews. So keep your bids low and convince people with your bidding description and dont give up.

Second thing is you have to be online nearly all the time. You can do your work in the foreground and keep the tab open in the background, because you clients may contact you anytime and they wont wait long for your response because someone else has already started convincing them who is at par with your quality. So be sure to respond in time.

Now the point to be noted is that client before awarding a project to the best person, communicates with many people to judge the best person for the job. So once client pings you after checking out your bid and your profile, greet him and explains how you are going to implement the project(an action plan) and the time span required and what additional things you will provide. Always add payment only after satisfaction. This may be risky but believe me it will work and dont worry about payment rather go and check the clients profile and his reviews so that you dont end up with a fraud client for your first work.

Dont be impatient while talking with a client, always be polite even if he asks a question several time. Also a few questions to clarify from your side would add to clients confidence on you and will show your deep interest in the project. State you have done similar project or at least a module of the project in another project you have done previously under someone else. The point is make him/her comfortable with you, be polite and interactive and stats shows that the longer the conversation goes, the greater are your chances of getting the project. Dont be rude or reply in bad mood when the client is taking his/her time to reply back, understand this is a professional life, what you give is what you get. I have also seen cases where client does not award the project but due to ones polite behavior, client promise to ping one for the next project.

Thank You for following this trend... I've been busy with a client's work.

Now, let's continue:

Account For Payment Transaction-

Now before proceeding, you must have an account in paypal because all money transactions from freelancing sites to you will happen via paypal. If you don’t have paypal account, open one because it is very easy to open and link your credit/debit card or even bank account and thereon, very easy to handle. In place of paypal, different freelancing sites also support money transfer through different third party site like escrow, but kindly check the site details for those if you have one such account for money transaction. But the best option is wire transfer(direct transfer to your bank account) because in this case, less money(commission) is deducted in comparison to third party sites like paypal and others. That is because money is transferred to paypal from freelancing sites and then to your card or bank account but in wire transfer it is directly from freelancing sites to your back account.

Communication Channel-

Though almost all sites have the facility of online chatting with clients, but having a skype(a desktop software and even available as a mobile app) account for communication is must. Most clients prefer to chat via skype and clients are like God. Plus, you will be in touch with clients in future through skype very easily by pinging them from time to time asking about how the project is running and requesting them for recommending you to people around them and select you for future projects and so on. But I personally prefer to chat via freelancing sites because you will have a record to things in the site and It will be very handy when a conflict arise between you and your clients, say refusing to pay the money even if he/she had approved that your work is completed. In such cases, support team of freelancing sites goes through your workstream/chat conversation and release the money in favour of you. Anyways dont even think of negativity. Prefer to chat via sites online chat system and at the end of the project ask the skype id of our client.

Personal Profile-

Put your original name. Dont put any fancy or unprofessional name. Instead of a name, if you put your self-owned company name, that wont be bad as well. But initially, I would recommend you to start as an individual. Once you have enough feedbacks and reviews and a live (works you have already done for clients) portfolio, you can change your profile to your self-owned company. This is the ultimate trick. Because everyone knows individual offers cheap rates than branded company especially when you are a beginner in it.
Put your address in such a way so that atleast people can understand the region, dont go into too many details. City and Country will suffice. You can put fake qualification to impress clients. The thing is that you are literally selling yourself. So, a little exaggeration is not a sin. Finally put a professional profile picture, keep your fancy photos and selfies away for social networking sites. Link your transaction account like paypal or whatever option you have. Complete 100%.

Professional Profile-

This is more important aspect because before awarding you any job, your client will first visit your profile to find whether you are trustworthy and capable of doing the job.
First thing first, dont put a very high hour rate. Keep it low to moderate and as you working experience and reviews and feedbacks start growing, you can increase it from time to time. So it is another trick to keep in mind.
Then another important feature is some websites ask you to give a short bio about you. Dont waste words explaining who you are, use the words to explain what you are and what you are capable of.List the skills and your experience in the field. Even if you have no practical work experience, putting up a certain year of experience will help your cause. This is vital to make the first impression proper so that they proceed to check your portfolio. So before writing the description about you, check a few best sellers in that particular website pertaining to your category and merge a few popular profiles descriptions to make a new and best one for you.
Another point is that you have to choose your skill set which would also be show to the clients, so dont choose something where you have no idea. Always choose those skill set that are related to your category of work. Say, if you are a web developer, choose web designing, web development, UI design, PHP, CakePHP, Javascript , jQuery. BUT suddenly dont choose blogging because that does not go well with your skill set. Once you become popular enough, you can always edit those skill set to showcase your multi-talents. For now, just be specific and follow one channel with its branches.

Showcase Portfolio-

This is the most important part in setting up profile and here you have chance to convince your client to the maximum extent and nail them. Even if you dont have high class projects to showcase, download a few glossy screenshots and banners regarding popular projects and add understandable descriptions to describe it.
At least show three big projects in your portfolio in the category where your expertise lies. And if possible make or download a doc for each project you showcase in your portfolio so that when your clients ask anything about the projects you have done or show in portfolio, you can upload the doc and ask them to review it. This is a super cool trick to nail them further. Make/modify the doc(DFD, how each page works with screenshot, database, languages used and specialities of the project) so that it is understood that you have done it. Now lets proceed to even more important aspects.

THIS IS FREE TUTORIAL TO MAKE MONEY by Sola Mathew, the Visioneer of CCN

We gonna start a class here

Slow And Steady Start

Freelancer is a better term for self-employed.
Major types of freelancing work which are popular on internet are Web Development, Graphics Designing, Article/Content Writing and Data Entry. But freelancing is all about the stuff that you can do the best and offering it to the clients who require your service in exchange of a price.

The Line Of The Century - If you are good at something, never do it for free. Now-a-days, a very popular skill that is on the rise of freelancing platform is SEO and Digital Marketing.
Almost everything that you can think of doing as a service, it will find a category in almost all freelancing sites, say from audio-video editing to blog-commenting and even virtual assistance.

Here Are The Top Ten Freelancing Platforms:

1.www.freelancer.com
2.www.elancer.com
3.www.upwork.com (Previously oDesk)
4.www.peopleperhour
5.www.guru.com
6.www.99designs.com (Specially for graphics designer)
7.www.fiverr.com (Service Oriented)
8.www.toptal.com
9.www.ifreelancer.com
10.www.freelancewritinggigs.com

These are the most popular and famous ones. Once you decide what you are good at, I dont think it will be hard for you to Google the top ten freelancing sites for that particular skill set or category.
For example, if you are good at web development, sites like freelancer, elancer and upwork have lots of projects waiting for you. Similarly, for graphics designers, 99designs and fiverr open the gate of opportunity.

Trick To Begin With:

As a beginner always try to find a few freelancing sites which are relatively new in the marketbecause it is not yet crowded with experienced people. Therefore, you will have greater chances of getting a project awarded sooner than later, simple reason for that is, almost all will have few to no reviews at all.
Now, once you have found out what you are good at and noted down the sites(both old and new ones) especially suited for your skill, it is time for opening a profile in those sites. Lets go. This is just the introduction, so you can imagine the exciting time ahead.

Hi, Thank you for showing interest. We would like an expert like you to work with us, can you share some of your demo writings on Horticulture / gardening with us (if any), as want the content to be structured in a technical fashion yet very narrative in nature.
We have a mobile app on gardening & the content existing already is little technical which we want to be structured in a creative writing, I am sure with your resume, it should not be difficult, but we just want to see how we understand each other thus I can share a raw content write up which if you could refine upto 100 words & revert, we can take up the decision based on the writing.
Please let us know soon.

Yes, you can make good money on fiverr as a Nigerian.

*I work on fiverr everyday.
*I make money everyday.
*I am a level 2 seller on there.

I do not about other types of services using Nigeria as there country and the success rate. But mine is a perfect example.

The thing is, I used to be a blogger. I joined fiverr because, at some point, I wanted to optimize my blog for google search (SEO optimization).

So i joined in 2014. After the optimization, it worked for my blog, rather, it OVER-WORKED for my blog, and google banned me from ther adsense programme because my blog started experiencing surge in unusual traffic. I became very discouraged. I attempted starting several other blogs, but i had lost the passion for blogging. Instead I wanted another means to make money online. I hated adsense with passion....I still do.

Almost a year later, after intense research,

*I re-discovered fiverr.com.
*I created a gig in dec 2015.
*Made my first withdrawal in Jan 2016.
*You can see how much I have made so far in february.
*You can also see my country is Nigeria.
*I attained Level 2 status in about 1 month.

I have attached screenshots as proof.

As we go along, I will tell you more about how you can succeed. Be free to ask me questions

just got my first offer today which is very hard! the secret on how got the offer without buyer request was staying online with fiverr app!

buyer message: I am looking for a developer who can build an app website where graduates can load their Curriculum Vitae, graduation results, certificates & letter of reference in a set format.

The CV must start with a biography of the person and then follow with the obvious CV listings as per normal graduate CV's. There must be a minimum of 3 references. Note the reference's & their contacts details of the graduate may not be available for search to the public. Only people who are searching for graduates can see it if they pay the admin fee per CV. There obviously has to be a trolley / basket to add a number of CV's before paying for them. I want the payment option or gateway to please have options of paying with paypal, Credit Card, South African Debit cards ant EFT's. This app is currently for South Africa and should be in South African Rand.

Build into the CV collection we must also have an option or tick box of graduates that are willing to work as interns. Minimum of 3 months but a maximum of 12 months.

There should be 2 maybe 3 different integrations / logins. Graduate's, Employers and Maybe Recruitment agencies.

Most likely app will be used by Graduates & Web by employers

nb: this one is beyond me, I just know how to convert website to adriod app!

lock up the school gate disallowing students
and other staff from entry.
No one knows the major reason behind this
but a source said it is because of the two

It has been reported earlier that the VC has
employed about 500 staff recently thereby
inhabiting the regular payment of salary.
We hope that the school gate opens soon.

Christianity EtcNigerian Man Almost Killed After Converting To Christianity by CLOUDGOSSIPS(op): 11:59pm On Jun 01, 2016
Brent Hail, a Jacksonville resident and Tyler
firefighter recently traveled to Nigeria for the
first time to visit with missionaries who are
supported by Fellowship Bible Church in
Jacksonville. He and the missionaries
traveled to northern Nigeria to pick up Musa
who was allegedly prosecuted and almost
killed after converting to Christianity. Read
his story below:
"The day started pretty early because
we had a long way to go. We were
going to pick up a man in a town in
northern Nigeria. The story had gotten
back to us of an amazing way God
had delivered him at his village from
being killed for his faith. As the van
left with me and five other travelers, I
wanted to see God in an amazing way.
I wasn’t disappointed.
This story is about a man named
Musa, who, this past January, almost
lost his life for converting to
Christianity. As we headed northeast
in northern Nigeria, I could tell that we
were heading into areas that were
almost completely Muslim. We were
traveling to the village where it
happened. I had heard about Musa
and his incredible story through one
of the missionaries our church
supports.
Four hours later we finally pull up to
the spot where it all happened. Musa
walked us to the mud house where it
all took place. He began by telling us
that two years ago he became a
Christian as a result of one of the
outreaches to his village.
Most of the village was either pagan
or Muslim, so when he converted he
was seen as an outsider of sorts. Let
me say quickly that Islam is not the
enemy here. There is a much bigger
enemy who uses Islamic radicals to
carry out horrible things against
people.
After his conversion, Musa told people
in his village that he was a Christian
and that he wanted them to know that
Jesus truly cared and loved them. The
leaders of the village didn’t like that,
so they were going to make it difficult
for him.
They took his wife and married her to
another man in the same village. They
then approached him with a large sum
of money wanting to denounce his
faith and come back to Islam, but
Musa refused. They then brought him
several women for the same purpose,
but he still refused.
One night, two people from his village
came to his mud hut at midnight,
kicked in his door and told him that
this was going to be his last night on
earth. One of them had a gun. As the
man fired, Musa reached around to
feel the exit hole from the bullet, but
it wasn’t there. The man was standing
approximately five feet away, so surely
he couldn’t have missed.
As Musa was crying out to Jesus to
save him, the man then swung a
machete. Musa put up his left arm in
defense, and the machete cut off his
left hand. The man swung again, this
time cutting off his right thumb. Musa
said he suddenly felt a surge of power
come over him, and he was able to
punch the guy with the arm, which
was missing his hand, knocking him
down.
Musa ran to his neighbor’s house
where the wife answered the door, and
fainted after seeing what had
happened to him. The husband then
took him to the Christian church that
was about a half mile away to seek
help from the pastor. They carried him
to the hospital, which was an hour
and a half away, where they finally
were able to care for his wounds.
From the time his hand was cut off, to
the time he was sewed up, sixteen
hours had transpired.
At times, doubt creeps in to invade my
faith. I don’t want it there, but it still
manages to make its way in. I believe
God understands this, and allows
amazing stories like Musa’s to cross
our paths to let us know that there is
a God who truly loves and cares for
us. It strengthens my faith all the
more from seeing the way that God
delivered Musa.
I was able to see the amazing power
of God work through Musa, because
he told us that he loves and forgives
the men. He also has had four men
from the village come to him secretly,
telling him that they had placed their
faith and trust in Christ because of
his witness. It has opened my eyes to
see that God cares as much for the
Muslims as he does for me. I thank
God for allowing me to see this
personally and to meet Musa. We can
all learn a lot from his story."

EducationNOUN Admits 20,000, Pledges Quality Education by CLOUDGOSSIPS(op): 1:08pm On Mar 22, 2016
The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has said it has admitted more than 20,000 fresh undergraduate and postgraduate students across its 72 centres nationwide, promising to pursue quality assurance excellence through the National University Commission’s Benchmark for Academic Standards (BMAS).

The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Abdalla Adamu, who took part in the matriculation ceremony at the institution’s Mushin Centre in Lagos at the weekend, said the initiative would be achieved by reviewing the university’s curricular and streamlining them with approved guidelines in every discipline. Adamu noted that it would take into consideration, new academic narratives that were more accessible through institutional sharing and collaboration around the globe.
Adamu added that the initiative would also introduce and enhance more student-based input on the study centres as well as decentralise examination processing to reduce incidences of missing results and others.
According to him, despite the challenges NOUN was facing, many of them highly exaggerated, it had not deterred young Nigerians who year for quality education from making the bold decision of making the institution their choice.

During the last time EKSU HEALTH WEEK by The Health City, various students from different departments of different faculties turned out en mass for the two days program and 162 students were tested for HIV.

According to one of the participants we interviewed, Jennifer who is a graduate of Ekiti State University (EKSU), the program is the first of it's kind in ESKU. She said the program was totally free. All you needed do was to go for the program. She added that anyone that was tested was tested for free and students could ask questions from the Professional Doctor that was available.

Another participant and co-organiser of the program, Oyinlola, said the program is a shift for so many youths.
