Let me start by saying, in no way are their actions justifiable, however, it will be note worthy that this story may not be entirely true.

When you are arrested, you seldom write your own statement, this is mostly the case if you are young or uneducated, the police write the statement based on the charges they want to charge you with. This is the only explanation as to how an illiterate can write a fine and well articulated statement.

First, one of the charges leveled against the boys is that they stole a blackberry phone from the victim, on which of the victim's phone then did they call to place the ransom as stated by the police.

Secondly, the victim claim she became unconscious after a ring was stroke against her chest, however in her unconscious state, she was able to remember where she was taken to, she was offered alcohol, and in her unconscious state she consumed the alcohol.

Are Ghanaians Stupid, Ignorant and Lazy?

I read your recent article titled “Ghana is FOR SALE, Who Wants to Buy? | The Chinese, the Koreans or the Americans?” with extreme joy and to be frank, I love the way you were straight with things. Indeed, Ghana is being and has always been ran by people with little or no clue about governance, with no sense of direction and no strong plans for the country despite their many high education titles.

However, even if we sell Ghana to the Chinese, the Americans or the South Koreans as you suggested and bring their leaders here to take charge of affairs; nothing will change because the problems of Ghana are mainly due to the over 22 million citizens and not the few people in power.

Sorry to say, Ghanaians by default are lazy and stupid and as the years go by, they’ve become even more stupid, ignorant and lazy. Ghanaians do not think and they operate as if they have no ability to think. They will rather let some supreme being in heaven do the thinking for them while they pray that things around them be fixed by divine intervention.

Ghana is one hell of a big JOKE and the comedians are the citizens who have no working ethics, resulting in poor productivity which strengthens the chain of poverty.

Look, let me tell you and those who may read this the truth, Ghana will not get any better unless the people begin to behave and think like human beings by starting to use their thinking faculties and borrow the hard working ethics of others. And while at it, they should let go their low self-esteem which controls their desire to be others, admire the food and lifestyle of others without any respect for who they themselves are and what they have.

Once again, let me say that Ghana is a joke and if there is indeed HELL, Ghanaians are already living in hell and are being punished for being so stupid, greedy and lazy.

A Ghanaian does not want to sweat and work hard, but he wants to live like a Queen or a King and they believe their God will do this for them. Instead of working two jobs to improve their condition, they will rather attend church services twice a day to increase the prospects of their prayers being heard. What a bunch of idiots put

Where in this world will you have so many people as foolish as Ghana, believing in superstition and all manner of nonsense—literally, refusing to critically think and make good use of their brains? It is as if the Ghanaian brain has been injected with ‘stupidity’.

The Educational system in Ghana in itself is pretty useless, all students do is chew and pour, studying stupid subjects like Swahili with no job prospects and when they come out, they blame the economy. What the heck is really wrong with us as people?

Did you not see how sane Ghanaians were fighting over second hand clothes of white men in that BBC documentary with some even saying; they prefer such clothes to the Ghanaian one even if they can afford the latter? We are just useless in thinking, in walking, in running and in making anything better for ourselves.

The leaders of Ghana are Ghanaians so what do you expect? Just like the people, the leaders have the same mind, attitude, work ethics and low thinking speed.

Tell the Ghanaian the truth and he will turn around to insult you. Present a Ghanaian the evidence or the fact and he will opt for superstition and disconnected beliefs.

Offer the Ghanaian a reliable route to change and he will opt for miracles by waiting on God to answer his or her prayers. For Christ sake, there are billions of people in this world praying to God, so why will any sensible person think he or she is so special that his or her prayer will be answered first or immediately?

God has given us brains but we have refused to use that brain, still waiting on God to do the thinking and fix everything for us. So God has come to a realization that we are stupid and he will not even bother with us.

Sometimes, I settle for the assumption that, Ghanaians are doomed. What else will explain our gross stupidity and ethics?

Go and see the Ghanaian gutters and the environment, who makes all those rubbish and puts them in the gutters? We all know it is not the government, rather the people. And when mosquitoes breed and begin to
kill them through Malaria, they start blaming the Government, forgetting that they are caused of their own deaths.

While others are thinking forward with a rocket speed, Ghanaians are thinking backwards with a snail speed. We do not think logically and examine things logically to find solutions to our problems; we wait for help from heaven or from foreigners. Why must we always be rescued by others and not by ourselves?

Ghanaians are just losers who love to blame others for their own-caused problems. They will blame everybody but not themselves.

The Nigerian National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 36-year-old food vendor for concealing wraps of cocaine in her v-agina. some oversized shitnigerian v-agina
Chinelo Okorom Lynnette was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos during the inward screening of passengers who arrived via an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia The NDLEA said Chinelo has already “excreted” 685g of cocaine and remains under observation.
“The suspect tested positive for drug ingestion and vaginal insertion”, Commander of NDLEA at the airport, Hamza Umar said.
“She, however, expelled a total of 685 grammes of substance that tested positive for cocaine while under observation at the airport”.
The suspect confessed to the crime, but claimed that she was lured into drug trafficking on the pretext that she would be importing female bags.
“I am a food vendor at Ajangbadi, Lagos and have never been involved in crime. I am a victim of man’s cruelty to man”, she lamented in her statement.
“My husband abandoned me with four children two years ago. I work hard to pay their fees and ensure their proper upkeep. The last straw that devastated me was when the landlord forcefully ejected me. I had nowhere to turn to for solace”.
Chinelo said she was “crying like a baby” when a man appeared out of the blue to offer a shoulder to cry on, asking her to wipe away her tears and promising to introduce her to importation business.
“I felt he was God-sent until he sponsored my trip to Addis Ababa”, she said. “When I got to Ethiopia, he told me to take cocaine to Nigeria. Initially I disagreed, but he threatened to recover his investment at all cost”.
Also speaking, Chairman of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade observed that drug traffickers are fond of always changing their routes and tactics, but they could not possibly outsmart the NDLEA.
“Going to Addis Ababa to smuggle cocaine into Nigeria is one of the tricks employed by drug trafficking syndicates” Giade said.
“Cocaine is not known to come from Addis but, we were able to detect it because of our vigilance. We are prepared to counter the activities of drug kingpins and bring them to justice. We look forward to fruitful progress in our investigation”.
While confirming that the suspect will soon be charged to court, he implored the public to be wary of the manipulative tendencies of drug traffickers.

Three suspected robbers have been nabbed by the police for allegedly stealing 291 boxes of assorted footwear valued at Ghc145,500 from a warehouse located at Old Fadama in Accra.

Bright Asante, 38, resident of Breman in Kumasi, was arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police Command while Aminu Bukari and Mallam Fari, aka Red, were busted by the James Town police in Accra, acting upon vital information from their colleagues in Kumasi.

The trio allegedly broke into the warehouse of Lenenki Company Ltd, a Chinese company at Old Fadama, which deals in different kinds of footwear.

The police have since been able to retrieve 120 boxes of the stolen items from Asante.

He (Asante) and the retrieved boxes of footwear have been sent to Accra where the police are conducting further investigations into the case.

Briefing Daily Guide, ASP Edward Bright Asante, Formed Police Unit (FPU) Second-in-Command, said in the night of September 8, this year, some people broke into a warehouse which contained assorted footwear belonging to Lenenki Company Ltd.

He said the hoodlums ransacked the warehouse and ran away with 291 boxes of the item.

According to ASP Edward Bright Asante, the robbers contacted Bright Asante in Kumasi, and he (Asante) traveled to Accra to convey the stolen items to Kumasi.

The police, ASP Obeng Boateng said, acting upon intelligence, arrested Asante, who was in possession of the stolen items at the Kumasi Central Market on September 12.

He said upon interrogation, he (Asante) mentioned Aminu Bukari and Mallam Fari – all in Accra - as his accomplices.

Ghana - Are we a country of beggars?

Taking a walk through the streets of Accra, what you will see is mostly very hard working citizens grafting hard to make ends meet. From the street vendors vocally advertising their wares and running to and fro to complete a sale, to the taxis, tro-tro drivers and their mates conveying passengers around the city, everyone’s working hard in order to make their daily bread.

Mingling amongst the public is also another class of citizen, the beggar. Through no fault of theirs, these are the disabled and disadvantaged in society, who due to the non-existence of solid and reliable assistance from the state, have to resort to begging on the streets. At times they have able-bodied assistants who help them in their resolve to collect alms, which begs the question (no pun intended here), ‘don’t these able-bodied assistants have anything else worthwhile to do?’ I answered my own question with a further ponder, ‘Partnering to help these disabled people may be the best prospect that they may have, in the high unemployment climate of the country. It could be that they are a relative and there were no other means of putting food on the table.’ Rather than just sweeping it under the carpet as is becoming the norm in Ghana, can something be done about this? How long shall this concept exist without any action being taken to permanently support people in such unfortunate circumstances? I suppose this is not an immediate concern of the Government but it’s gone on for so long and I think that by now something should have been done.

Those who are also gainfully employed still persist in the same sort of habits. Any government institution that you may visit has an issue of this sort, with workers unashamedly asking customers for tips and bribes. Increasingly, you will find people asking you to give them some money for a service they have provided, which is the job they are being paid to do in the first place! Whether they’re being paid or not is a matter to be resolved through the right channels. People need to know their rights and where they stand with employment issues. Here’s a hint to the lawyers out there. Offer your services where such help is needed, please. At Kotoka International Airport, there is no longer the problem of self-appointed baggage handlers. These guys used to heckle travellers at the airport arrivals, begging to help them carry their baggage for a tip, sometimes fighting each other to gain the upper hand. They are no longer at the country’s only International Airport but some staff who work here also make suggestive comments to passengers to give them tips. I was recently the last passenger to board a flight to London and was told quite casually by the check-in assistant of the airline (name with-held), ‘oh sir, what about the late fee?’ Hinting that she had helped me attain my boarding pass despite me being late (which I hardly was) and so deserved a reward. It didn’t end there. At the immigration window, the officer checking my passport was trying to engage in conversation, suggesting that he was the one who had stamped my passport upon my arrival into the country 16 days earlier. This was just a ploy to get me to show some gratitude by handing him some money but I merely thanked him with a smile and moved on to the security check. Once again the man here asked for change, to which I responded that I had none left on me. As you see, this is just at the airport where the workers interface with many foreign visitors to the country. This should not be allowed to carry on. It’s irrelevant whether this occurs when they’re arriving or departing. Could this be the first impression visitors are getting about Ghanaians? That we are a country of beggars?

The same applies to other institutions on various levels. I will not list any others here as I’m sure readers are aware and may have had such experiences, or at least know someone who has. Even the police would either beg or extort depending on their mood and the nature of the alleged offence. At night some set up check-points and use these as their personal money collection-points. Although some may argue that setting up check-points deters armed robbers, what I am saying is this, where money-making is the objective, how long will it take before the two opposite parties join forces and turn on the innocent unsuspecting citizen? These things do harm to our reputation as a country and neither is it showing that the rule of law exists, if the enforcers are willing to stoop so low and go unchallenged. Government officers also get in on the begging action when they seek aid and investment from other richer countries when there are other methods available to raise money as a country. Loans and investment funding are some of the quickest ways to enrich themselves and the ordinary Ghanaian is suffering as a result of the government officers being side-tracked by such monstrous greed. Whatever happened to the proceeds from the oil reserves off Ghana’s Western coast? Why is the Ghanaian economy in such a sad state presently?[i][/i] There are many questions that need to be answered but I doubt a truthful answer will be forth-coming anytime soon. I certainly will not be holding my breath for that.

Let us stop being a country of beggars. Let’s exhibit some pride and self-respect in our jobs. I also challenge the government officers in charge to get their priorities straight and to be more resourceful in jobs creation and professional development of their staff. This should initiate better standards in customer care and service which will go a long way to help us all as a country. God has blessed our homeland Ghana. It’s our attitude that’s making us less great and weak. Remember, the whole world is watching. The Black Star in the Ghanaian flag is a shining beacon to others so let us set a better example to Africa and the world, fulfilling our destiny. God Bless Ghana.
