Conservatives are heavily anti regulations because they are bought over by big corporations who hate to spend money on making sure their products are safe for consumption. They convince their supporters that this is what small govt means. We are watching the results in real time as more and more people get sick from the shoddy practices of these corporations.

Same pattern was notable during Trump’s first administration. He relaxed regulations on companies and they started putting out dangerous stuff out there, resulting in major recalls at the time. It’s happening again now and it seems to be happening at a higher rate.

BREAKING🚨 Marco Rubio personally signed off on stripping a cartel witness of his protection from torture, and eleven days later ICE put him on a plane to Mexico.

The man, a Mexican national in his late 40s identified in court papers only as John Doe, lived in Maryland and showed up for every ICE check-in he was given. In January, ICE detained him at one of those check-ins and shipped him to a detention center in Louisiana. Last month, with no notice and with a habeas case still pending, he was flown to Guatemala.

Guatemala refused him, because he isn't Guatemalan, and handed him to the Mexican consulate. A Mexican consular official learned he had protection from deportation to Mexico and declined to take him. He was back in the U.S. the same day.

Days later ICE flew him straight to Mexico. Mexico refused a second time.

On July 21 he was served notice that his protection under the Convention Against Torture had been terminated. The notice was in English. He speaks Spanish.

It said the State Department had received assurances from the Mexican government that he would not be tortured, and that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and acting ICE Director David Venturella had consulted and decided those assurances were reliable. U.S. District Judge Stephanie Gallagher, who is handling the case, noted in a footnote that this kind of termination requires a Cabinet member and is extremely rare, and that no one explained why the two men involved themselves in this one case.

On August 1 he was deported to Mexico without his phone or his belongings. "He has been in hiding since that date," Gallagher wrote, "fearing that the cartels that he provided information against will find him and torture or kill him before he can return to the United States."

Personally, I already hyper focus on the source of produce, particularly fresh produce and this doesn’t make it any easier. We are now seeing more disease outbreaks related to fresh produce. I really worry about those on SNAP benefits and access to quality produce of known source.

A black teenager was charged with attempted murder of a police officer, but the body camera footage just cleared the case. Now, 18-year-old Dailen Brewer is suing the City of Indianapolis and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Sgt. Robyn Frazier, accusing the officer of fabricating the story that put him behind bars.

According to federal court records, the Dailen Brewer lawsuit was filed July 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana and seeks a jury trial over alleged civil rights violations.

The case traces back to April 12, when Brewer drove into Riverside Park with a friend. According to reporting from the Indianapolis Star, police had begun diverting traffic from the park because congestion could have made it harder for emergency vehicles to get through. Brewer entered his red Honda HR V and parked before Frazier followed him and approached the vehicle.

What happened next became the center of the case.
Frazier wrote in a probable cause affidavit that she saw Brewer pointing a revolver in her direction. The affidavit stated:
"While Sgt Frazier began visually scanning the vehicle, the driver identified as Dailen Brewer appeared to be pointing a revolver towards Sgt Frazier at the door panel... Sgt Frazier saw the barrel end of the revolver point in her direction. Brewer raised the revolver, then dropped then gun and raised both hands."

But when the body camera footage was released, the video did not show Brewer pointing a gun at Frazier.
According to a second Indianapolis Star review of the nearly six-minute recording, Brewer's hands are not visible during every moment of the footage, but when Frazier opens the driver's door, both Brewer and his passenger can be seen with their hands raised.

To be a successful pastorpreneur, you have to totally deconstruct the belief system.

I think people who are excited about eating cheap ground beef under Trump’s administration should be extra careful.

Because does it have to be ground? If he’s interested in making beef affordable, why not all beef? Why not the steaks, the roasts, the T-bones, etc.

Why not make the recognizable parts of the animal affordable? Why does it have to be ground (arguably more processing steps) only to sell it cheaper.

I read it when you posted this and I was like that is weird that it has to be ground beef and not all beef, so I decided to investigate more and this is what’s happening.

Now ICE is trying to deport Skoro, who has an American wife and three children, back to Kosovo.

Previously in 2022, an immigration court granted Skoro permission to remain in the United States. It ruled that not only is Skoro at risk of being tortured and killed should he return to Kosovo but that his work in stopping al-Qaeda should allow him to stay in America.

Skoro put his life in jeopardy to help bring 9/11 terrorists to justice. Now, ICE is committing a grand injustice by trying to deport him.

What even is conservative research?

Scientific research has nothing to with conservatism or otherwise. Science is an unbiased practice and all credible scientific data are peer-reviewed and reproduced repeatedly to prove or disprove results.

If you feel like conservative research isn’t getting the attention or funding, then it’s more than likely that it's flawed and not credible information.

Heidi being a doctor should KNOW that peer review and evidence-based practice is what has improved modern medical research and medicine to where we are able to cure things that were erstwhile incurable.

I hate when people who should and do know better sell their souls for money and acquiescence to power.

For them it means "thoughts and prayers" going forward. Clearly many of Trump’s picks for the CDC/FDA own companies that sell wellness products/supplements or shill for supplement companies, and/or own stock in them. The goal of these "leaders" is to make healthcare unaffordable, make Americans afraid of prescription meds, make them distrust physicians and medical procedures.

Remove trust in evidence-based medicine and Americans will begin grasping at anything online (like their ivermectin craze) that promises to cure their illness or injury. It also feeds into the ultra right-wing mindset of "just pray your sickness away".

It makes vulnerable, frightened people more susceptible to religious influences. As a Christian, I’m sick of watching grifters using religion to get rich and gain political power.
