They put a U.S. citizen in a chokehold just because of how he looked.

It’s happening here in Minnesota - now.

This week in Cedar-Riverside, federal immigration officers chased down a U.S. citizen, tackled him, put him in a chokehold, and dragged him through the snow.

Mubashir told them repeatedly he was a citizen. ICE agents wouldn’t listen.

Instead, they handcuffed him, threw him in a car, drove him to ICE offices, and took his fingerprints. Only then, hours later, did they look at his I.D. and release him. No apology - they just told him to “walk home” 6 miles in the blustery cold.

This is a U.S. citizen - born here, who lived in Minnesota his whole life.

Federal immigration agents were lying across the road leading to the farm. I identified myself as a U.S. citizen and a veteran, but that didn't matter. Agents smashed my window, sprayed tear gas and pepper spray into my car, dragged me out. I was choking on gas, unable to breathe while officers shouted conflicting commands, even after I complied.”

“They pinned me down, one kneeling on my back and another kneeling on my neck, while my hands were already behind me. I was first taken to a Navy base where agents collected my DNA, and after that I was taken to a detention center and held for three days without charges. No phone call, no lawyer, no medical care, even though my skin burned from the chemicals. I wasn't allowed to shower.”

The Trump administration pulled legal immigrants at the last minute before their naturalization ceremony. Immigrants lined up to become U.S. citizens in Boston on Dec. 4 were pulled out of line by USCIS officials moments before taking the oath. These were people already approved to be naturalized, yet they were stopped solely because of their countries of origin. MAGA keeps saying, “If they wanted to be in this country, they should have done it the right way.” Well, they did. And the administration still blocked them. Cruelty is the point.
