Between Mathematics and Computer science, which one is advisable to study?

Computer science.
I almost studied Maths because of my love for the subject when I was in secondary school. But an uncle advised me to study computer science for employment opportunity and good career. Also it requires knowledge of mathematics, this way I’m not leaving maths totally.

Hey pls help me o i want to study computer science in a university (unilorin) and my dad and other people advised me not to study it that i can study it in a cafe or a computer institute but from what i have about the course i really love it can someone explain to me why they said so?

Wow, this seems like my writing. I was in your shoes around 2014. And I was planning to apply to same school, my parent gave the same reasons as yours and I still didn’t feel convince. I applied and got admitted for computer science that same year in UNILORIN. My dad was annoyed because he thought I choose Medicine. Today I’m done with University and currently serving(I have 2/3 months left). If I can go back in time, I will still choose the same course bro, I’m a developer today because I made use of the internet for learning while I was in school. I have created few android app for organizations, project student and my own personal project. I facilitated Andela Learning community for 3 versions among all, all this while in the university and I also made Second class(upper).

Follow your heart, if you go wrong then you have no one to blame. Do something you have passion for and most of all that will be useful in the nearest future and also fetch you some money. They are many career path in computer science than being a typist or some business center attendant because I feel this is the though of your dad. Someone already mention few above, as me myself I’m thinking of going into Artificial intelligence soon.

The rich man wants to have more money while the poor man keeps praying instead of putting in the work that requires. When prayer comes to bless his effort, it end up not finding any effort to bless.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: My Embarrassing Interview Situations You Need To Learn From by CodeBlooded: 3:32pm On May 13, 2019
I use to be ashame of talking about them, i guess am talking about them because am some steps up the ladder now.

The first was immediately after my service year it was a big one the pay figure (like i gathered)  was  mouth watering and i was already calculating what i will do with the money and at that time i needed money bad.
on the D-day i was ask to read a paragraph from a book and yours truly was shaking all over like a leave on water it was so embarrassing, it never happened to me before. Believe me, am  very bold and good with presentations.

The cause
My head was calculating the pay and suddenly a fear of what will happen if i don't get the job gripped me

Lessons
1. Never count your chicks before they harsh
2. Go to the interview with a sport mind set  i.e you either win or loss
3. Don't  place all your value on the monetary aspect alone

My second experience was with a bank, i was just not prepared. I got the invitation  a day before the interview
and a dress code was specified.  I went in an oversized suit the top different from the bottom. The first thing the interviewer asked me was if am for the interview embarassed

Lessons
1. Always be prepared, do all you can and leave the rest to God
2. Get all the tips on dress code here.

A 2008 post made it to front page in 2019. This life ehn, just don’t give up.

Hi, I’m just thinking of creating a laravel thread where people can learn laravel easily. You surely need knowledge of PHP and a bit of OOP.

I need your opinion, what do you think about it.

You can't employ a confirm programmer like us, you can engage us as a freelancer because the cost of keeping me in a company for one month is should be in the range of 400 to 700k per month.

Don't ask me how, cos I see me self as a company itself. Checkout my signature for my latest work.

I checked your work but I’m not impress, if this is what you have to brag about. I know better people on this forum.
