Religion / Re: Religious Leaders Are The Real ENEMIES Of Nigeria. by Coded200(m): 5:57pm On Jun 13, 2012
Jakumo's post - "Very good write-up, AcidTalk. The quaint, archaic obsession of most Nigerians with all things religious, paranormal or mystical is the reason the world will have to wait for at least another generation before Nigeria ever records a single feat of scientific or technological discovery.

There is precious little space left for analytical or logical reasoning in any mind that remains burdened down with the dead-weight of superstitious and paranormal beliefs, given that such a mindset places ALL emphasis on hocus-pocus, prayer to a multitude of deities, sacrificial offerings and ritual murder, as the chosen means to achieve objectives in a real world that is ruled by the laws of physics and technological innovation, rather than by the musings and ramblings of Juju witch-doctors, religious charlatans and money-grubbing "prophets"."

People, no need to argue back and forth. Jakumo nailed it. Forget whatever religious affiliation you belong to (after all, religion was imperialists' export to their colonies - originally, our ancestors were animists). The "koko" is we live in a logically driven world, your spirituality has nothing to do with the outcome of your existence. What would be, would be - good or bad. We were born, we WILL die. Until Nigeria realistically wakes up (sadly, I fear that's not happening in my generation), but we never know.

Politics / Re: MEND Declares Ceasefire In Niger Delta by Coded200(m): 9:59pm On Oct 03, 2008
@Ibime
you made sense,the more reason  because you actually lived in the ND and know more about the issues first-hand than what the  media would report and feed to the rest of the country.Please people how the heck can you trust the Federal Governmet,well we all see whats happening in the U.S now, Bush and his lies,lies upon lies until Wall Street decided to bring Main Street down with it.His pathetic arse was pleading with congress to pass the bailout plan.
    Generally speaking - Am in my mid-twenties,and i have to painfully admit that our fathers have seriously messed things up for us hopefully not the entirety of our future ( For those of you saying God would see us,i just hope you stop the insult to God because heaven help those who help themselves, its funny to note that the help seem to apply to anyone be you a sinner or not),from all i have learnt about Nigeria from elementary history right from the slavery boom to the present day ND bombshell.I can see that half the people commenting on this issue want the long age crisis to come to an end amicably which is desired of everyone even those totting the guns now, but there is always a reaction to every action be it negative or positive.With all humility i wont open my mouth and ran blames on the Militant inasmuch as my biased human nature wants to,for the FG i give them kudos for a job well done(sarcastically - brewing the whole wahala in the first place).
    Am proud to be a Nigeria for reasons beyond me,you wonder why?because with all the nonesense going on i should not even wanna raise my hand if a nationality roll call is made,but i guess its simply that i just have to be patriotic - born and bred with all the up's and down's of the daily struggle to survive.It has only been soccer and some few notable individuals that have made us proud that kind of lightens once mood.
   If the amalgamation had taken place in 1914 purely out of the selfish needs of the British(cmon the county was already in three parts ,look at how river Niger and Benue gracefully did the job for us but i can understand we were still saying Yes Sir to the Brits and still amazed at their white skin,if only we knew their motive was black) perhaps the yorubas to the west,the hausas to the north and the igbos  to the east please note each tribes along with the minorities based in their respective geographical regions would be peaceful co-existing neighbours? A strong hunched Yes to that.
   If the igbo's have actually succeeded in their attempt during the Biafra War would they have been able to sustaining their free country with or without the ND(Adaka Boro was a leader who fought for the ND pursuit from the FG before War was declared on the igbos, at the end of the day he was enticed by the FG to canvass his people to fight against he igbos and duh you dont want to hear about the conspiracy surrounding his death,the enemy bullet of the FG who sweet-talked him) as part of them?With what i have seen of igbos after the war,HECK YEAH THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN THE CHINA AND CRADLE OF AFRICA COMMERCIAL HUB.
   I was chatting with a buddy back home today and he was asking how i spent my Independence,just old him i went to work and just chilled,i asked him and he told me the President said it was  time for sober reflection, uhm sober reflection on what,achieving basically nothing in all our years as a country not even unity, it looks like a hopeless situation,what diplomacy or round table talk in the book has not been exhausted, maybe we should just split and go our various ways?maybe somehow unfathomably a revolution would take place and we wipe out all those big stomachs that have been rotating power since 1960 and inject new fresh patriotic leaders?maybe i should personally not bother and rather  bother about the green house effect on the earth in the nearest future since it looks like my effort on that would be appreciated but i know that charity and repair begins at home, 2/3 of our youth worship money now , be it yahooze,drug-trafficking, and all other lower level crimes since they are simply looking up to the higher level corruption been carried out by the big boys in power.All that lies ahead is a bleak and black future but i sincerely hope there is light somewhere in the distance,at this stage am not even thinking of myself or life again but that of my children,your children,our children - they are going to be our examiner.
@A-town
When you stereotype,it directly invalidates any reasonable points you tender.We dont need to haul insults and sadly you instigated it.I for one know am no monkey just coz someone who has my body anatomy acts like one.Man was made in God's image and Darwin before his death refuted his claim on evolution,i can take it that we are higher animals and your blind assumption (you said assumption is the mother of fuckers = not fuckers my friend, its Bleep-ups,you obviously did not get the movie line properly),just to let you know i have seen some smart monkey pets coz u totally made it sound like all monkeys are just retard and can never be trained.

Romance / Re: My Boyfriend Relies On Me For His Financial Needs by Coded200(m): 9:15am On Oct 02, 2008
Before i say anything i cant believe the subject of some threads, some people cant just think for themselves again until you let someone make common sense (well i heard somewhere that sense is not common afterall ) decisions on your behalf.We all did comprehension in school so i'd paste her headache below and lets just drew 2 simple inference which funny enough she highlighted,talking about reverse retardedness

Hi nairalander,

Please i really do need help fast. The person I call my boyfriend relies so much on me for his financial needs.

I understand that he might not have a job (while I do, one i just got recently anyway) but he should sometimes wear the pants in this relationship and not me. I do most of the spending and he sees no big deal in asking me for more. His response would always be "afterall you are my wife" which I find very annoying.  The way i was brought up, men do the spending while ladies lend a helping hand. How I found myself saddled with him, I swear I do not know.

Do I love him?  That I do not know. But I understand that money isn't everything. I can count on one "finger" how much he's spent on me. But me,  please don't ask!

Its not like I buy the world for him, no! But when we are together, he's always broke & tells me that i should be the one with money since I work. I've tried explaining (albeit aggressively since i alwayz feel so MAD Angry ) that i don't work in a bank's vault & I make enough money just to cater for my basic needs, he doesn't seem to care as much.

Whenever I go visiting his folks, I know how much I spend doing "big girl" or "in-law" Sad

Yet he's never spent a DIME on my people.  Never even bought "coke" or even sweet for anyone in my house. He claims he is forever broke yet encourages me to spend on his family & on him.

Maybe he does feel something for me, I wouldn't doubt that, but sometimes I think that's the only reason he's with me.

Guys always feel that we ladies are with them for the money even when they hardly spend a dime on you! I only console myself with the fact that sometime in the future, he might be man enough to actually strike gold, but what happens if he doesn't eva? Would I be indebted to a life of misery forever?

One thing i know about him is that, financially, he is not mature at all.  By the way, I'm 24 while he is 31.  I should be grooming myself for the altar not 4 doom!

Please understand my plight.  I'm not looking for a ready made man.  I want someone I can grow wit in all aspects of our lives.  But with his financial attitude, I doubt if I can stand it.  Maybe I didn't mention one little detail.  He is really good in bed Grin LOL  maybe that's why I still hang around I don't know.

Ladies, you should be in the best position to help out here. Should I just ditch him until i find another replacement or hope against hope that things get better in the nearest future, or just enjoy the sex until i find another replacement?!

No yaps, snide talks or insensitive comments please.  If you don't have any useful comments, kindly keep the unnecessary ones to yourself. My heart is too heavy to take any insensitivities please.

1.Do I love him?  That I do not know
-This day and age you go into a relationship without at least loving the person(liking the person is not enough!)even if its a fling you never know how its gonna end,its simply gonna be a disaster regardless who is leaning on who for  financial reliance,what irks is that you don't even know if you love him or not,if you had said no i would have still have had some ounce of respect for you yet still you had the guts to come out and ask everyone when there are some genuine quagmire life situations we all can positively contribute to,you got to be kidding me.

2.He is really good in bed Grin  LOL
-All the women that left their abusive husband home must be stupid to have left despite their hubby's extraordinary cloud 9 projection skills.Basically you are leading us to believe that the sex is the reason you're still rocking the boat with him,you were even grinning and lolling us, if you call that sense of humour with the dire situation you'r in then obviously it doesnt pay you to be sarcastic coz you got its time-table twisted,well then consider his financial needs as a payment of his unparalled sexual services to you.One thing is for certain that we all know - YOU ARE IN LUST WITH HIM AND LOST IN TRANSIT TO YOUR INNER WISHES.

Well spoken and the only one who had tangible words to give not that it would always work all the time.

@General Viewers  undecided
Truly its has turn into a pretty scary sisituation always get lucky  mainly because i guess i stare at them straight in the eyes (its like we all just feel guilty of been Nigerians these days!!) or God just says Son its not your turn today coz i know they would harharass on one of the trips soonest.I got disturbed for the food stuff though it was returned only to find out that my aunt who accompanied me bribed the guy (i quarrelled her later, only to get a so-u're-not-grateful cold stare).The question is :are we like gradually turning into Sodom and Gomorrah? coz it seems everybody everywhere in all sector is been oppressive mostly with bribes.Am even too ashamed to mention some pretty bad experiences which would only expose the cankerworm depth of rottenness.Our leaders are busy looting the treasury despite this and that panel.I have weeped for Nigeria and still not comforted.

Am now based in the States and it pains me to see that our people actually deserve more than they are getting  at the moment,i heard that sometimes during the 70's the naira was equal to the pound and some fraction higher than the dollar,we know the scores today.

Are we really one or what is the problem(its definitely not spiritual),as a kid growing up in the church for the past 20yrs  we have always had prayer points about God taking control of the country's situation,maybe the ibo's actually had the answer some 3 decade ago.Soccer,the only activity that bounds us together is been messed up no thanks to the Administration.UEFA Champions league better have their next year Finals in Abuja.

I remain a full blooded *confused* Nigerian Youth in the diaspora.
P.S-Many of my foreign friends complain alot about our country mainly on fraud,corruption and they often stereotype us to be bad folks even when these individuals are quite liberal & open-minded by nature ,i on my part have always  done a good job of countering them because aside from been a Nigerian (why am stand-by defensive),all countries have their issues to deal with(they just dont dramatise theirs like we do ours, i recall obasanjo going to ireland during his 1st term and telling the Govt. there  to return Nigerians back home that they were bad people, that coming from a President).I watched a movie at the cinema some days back, the moral from it was that one should have love his  country and  not aberrate because of  the leaders or the present condition!)
P.S.S-Please forgive any grievous remark that might  hurt anyone's feelings AS I SAY IT AS IT IS! cry.
