Dear Nairaland Girls,
I am writing this letter for myself more than it is for you. To be frank this letter is not directed to anybody and it is just a way to vent out my thoughts. People often ask me if I am depressed,sad, lonely and lost. These would have been the case if i had recently lost someone dear to me
or broke up with someone dear to me. This is actually a true life story, my name is Ray.

I rarely talk to people, I smile less,keep to myself and play less with the ladies folks. Infact I am an introvert.

I grew up in a very religious home, Mum was a deeper life member while dad was a prayer warrior in Mountain of Fire - we were cautioned not to go near female folks because it was a sin to keep and talk to female friends.

As if that was not enough dad enrolled me in an Boys' school. I never got along with girls right from small. My secondary school life was lonely,programmed and very predictable. Dad wasn't that well to do and mum was a teacher, so i had to manage 100naira everyday from Gbagada to my school in Akoka.



I quickly adjusted to Boys' secondary school life and made some friends in school because i needed someone to go home with;unfortunately for me my three new friends were all introverts.. We saved some money by lapping each other,

We always fantasized and talked about dating Queen's College and Ola girls. There was something spectacular about Queen College Students, they glowed with beauty,beamed with confidence ,they were intelligent,well mannered and "bad" according to our Seniors.

Our obsession for these girls made us cancel our lapping arrangements whenever we encoounter them in a bus;we sit comfortably like big boys from Akoka to Bariga, then trek from Bariga to Oworoshoki.

By September 23, 2006, I was 17 years old and done my waec. I was soliloquizing under the orange tree at the front of Iya Bose's shop ,when i suddenly heard a voice say "hello ?", i looked up and couldn't believe who i saw, it was Lizzy - the finest girl in the neighborhood. I turned back to be certain if i was really the one she was talking to,"hello ?" she said again, I became a stammerer and I finally stuttered "hello !". The next morning was different, I woke everyone up and lead the family devotion. I swept the house, washed the plates for the first time and brushed my teeth twice in the morning. I was full of energy, I felt like i was being powered by an external source of energy and looked very handsome anytime i looked at myself in the mirror.

I KEEP ON GETTING NUMBERS EVER DAY AND DELETING THEM WITHIN A WEEK. MOST BAES I MEET SAY I AM TOO NICE AND THEY DONT REALLY DESERVE ME. I HVE NEVER LOVED A BAE BUT I DO TRY ONCE IN A WHILE TO START A RELATIONSHIP AND IT IS THE SAME STORY, IT ENDS UP BEING BORING AND DISASTROUS. MOST OF THESE GIRLS DONT HVE ANYTIN TO OFFER AND THEY LEAVE YOU WORSE THAN THEY MET YOU. I JUST KEEP FEMALE FRIENDS FOR NOW, NO HARD FEELINGS. ONE MORE THING I YAM INTROVERTED BUT I AM TRYING TO CHANGE THOUGH.
