The issue of electricity in Nigeria is getting worse
each day. Residents of ITAM area in UYO akwa Ibom
summoned some fiery looking EKPO masquerades
after getting a message from NEPA that there will
be mass disconnection in the entire Akwa IBom State
if they do not pay their electricity bill.

Residents were angered by the fact that they only receive
9hours of electricity during the night each day
which is not enough to carry out their daily business activities

Elders poured libation on transformers and T-junctions
on major streets and dared PHED officials to disconnect them.
Some PHED officials lamented the way in which the community
handled the issue and also complained about huge outstanding
debts of ITAM community which is a major set back for the company.
