How? Em you withdraw (or transfer) from the bank and sell to mallam or bdc.

N220 ke? Today's rate is N230.

There's nothing special or ridiculous about having a domiciliary account.

Any bank will do. They are all about the same.

Create a support ticket on Payoneer and tell them you want to change your local bank details to a different account ( your domiciliary account ). Make sure you specify it is a USD account.

They then requested my local bank details.

I provided them the Account Name, Account Number, Account Currency, Bank Name and SWIFT Address.

Today I got a $400 job awarded to me which I have to accept in 35 hours . Now the question is: if - accept the project won't freelancer stop my withdrawal and take their $40 share? Or will they just make a -$40 on my account? Which is ok by me. On the other hand if I don't accept the proposal will the seller really cancel the project? What exactly can I do ? My brother today I even thank God for this $20. I've been paying $50+ for over 7 years prior.

If you can help it, why don't you have them send you one payment per month? That will save quite a bit on the fees.

Not a problem. If you use a savings account I believe that will result in you receiving your funds in NGN (converted using lower market rate ).

Better to use a dom. so you can withdraw and convert your dollars with black market rate.

I'm not sure any bank charges for opening an account. If you meant account opening minimum, I had to open another current account which required N250k before they opened the domiciliary. I was told this was because I was opening a corporate domiciliary account. If you open a personal current, the requirement should be lower.


In today's Nigeria, remember you cannot pay in cash dollars, so they can't request USD from you to open an account anyway.

Your inverter battery charger will not have more than a 10a charger at best (this is an estimation), it might be even 5A.

So...charged it for 7hrs x 10a = 70Ah, this is not a full charge if the batteries were dead or near dead

In the past I have used Diamond Bank and GTB for inflows- to receive wires from Freelancer directly.

I changed to Standard Chartered last month. All up to this point I always got hit an additional $25, after Freelancer's own $25. Even with SCB.

With this last Payoneer method, charges was $20: $15 ( Payoneer). I'm not sure who took the extra $5.

On withdrawing, Diamond Bank used to charge me 1% of the amount, then I dropped them 2 years ago, for GTB.

GTB charges me 0.5%.

So far with SCB, I have not been charged for withdrawals.

Funny thing is I've known about this Global Bank Transfer but for some crazy reason did not explore it ( mostly because I knew of someone who did it but received the funds in Naira (converted with the official CBN rate) )

Anyway so I successfully got the Payoneer Bank Transfer setup and received my withdrawal in USD to my local domiciliary account.

The total fee was $20 compared to the $50 I've been paying for many many years doing wire transfers directly from freealancer.

Payoneer charged me $15, and somewhere along the line another $5 was removed. No biggie! I am still stoked.


Process

In my freelancer account there is no Payoneer bank option.

I contacted their support and requested that I wanted my method to be changed from "Card" to "Bank Transfer".


They sent me a link ( which did not work ). I replied to them that it did not.
(It takes them up to 3 days sometimes to reply a message and sometimes I had to nag)

They requested I verify my Payoneer details via email. I provided.

They then requested my local bank details.

I provided them the Account Name, Account Number, Bank Name and SWIFT Address.

They asked me to provide a statement for the account. I sent.

All the above, was via email communication.

Got back to me about 3 days later ( their support is slow).

They had changed my method to Global Transfer.

I made a Freelancer withdrawal and chose my normal "Freelancer Card" option. I received the funds in USD on the next business day in my dom account.


From start to finish the process took about 2 weeks.

Frankly, I stopped using the card ages ago, because the rate was a rip off. I still had it and used it though for backup and emergencies.

I've been using WIREs a long time on freelancer. Most cost effective (even with the $50 charge). PayPal is also a possibility if you have a means of withdrawing from that PayPal.

Meanwhile, I am in the process of signing up for Global Bank Transfer via Payoneer. Will update you guys on the outcome. This should effectively reduce my $50 wire charges to $25 or $35, lets see.

That price included batteries, solar panel, a roof rack a charge controller, a Victron inverter and an installation kit.
I will like to see a 5 Kva Xantrex at that price with all that included. I will be the first to buy.

Thank you for your comment. The link is correct. That Victron model goes from 800 VA to 5 Kva. The 5 Kva unit alone retails for over N500k in Nigeria. Some Inverters are more equal than others. Victron commands a higher price than SMA in Europe. That says something does it not.

It's a matter of efficiency and quality.

I see respected brands like Prag and Xantrex in the 5kVA range for much less than that.

The charging of the batteries depends on the charger on the inverter ( if it has a charger ).

You might need to get a separate charger if you find that it does not charge it well enough.

You can buy batteries anywhere. They are on Jumia, Konga, Oshodi, Alaba, Computer Village.

Whereabouts do you live?

Assuming your total wattage is around 400W per hr, lets approximate you will drain 20Amps per hour.

You have a total of 100AH, that means 5 hours but you do not want to run your batteries down all the way or they will not last as long as they ought to.

So when you have 100AH, operate with a mindset of 50AH.

On that 50AH, your 400W will last 2.5/3 hours.

I can't remember the last time I withdrew from an ATM with my Payoneer card. The rates @justi4jesu will give you are better than any rate you can get through the ATM. Also as good as what you will get through the black market if you choose to do wire transfer to your Dom acct.

I however leave small amounts of dollars in the Payoneer card for use in online purchases. I have nevernever had any problem with the card since December last year I started using it.

Don't get your account blocked by freelancer. Seeing withdrawals from multiple accounts to one paypal email to them seems like you are operating more than one freelancer account.
