Travel / Re: Can USA Visitor's Visa Be Granted To A First Time Traveler? by Coefficient(m): 11:37am On Sep 01, 2016
There are no particular documents required. In fact, you're not submitting any. You can only take any document that can help prove that you have strong ties to your home country with you.

Most times, the Consular Officer will not ask for these proofs. All that is required of you is being truthful and have a genuine reason for your visit. Think of it as a conversation rather than an interview.

And yes, first time travelers are granted visiting visas provided you can do as stated above.

Good luck!

Price range for pre-owned cars as in the cost of the cars or the income you should expect from them? For cost of pre-owned cars, it depends on whether it is foreign pre-owned (tokunbo) or local pre-owned (Nigerian used). You can get some ideas on carmudi.com or jiji.com, etc. Be careful when buying pre-owned cars in Nigeria as there are no certified pre-owned cars here. For earnings, we give N40,000 per week.

Good day TokyoBulls.

I mean cost of buying a pre-owned car, both foreign and local pre-owned (Nigerian used)

Thanks for your interest. From my perspective, there are four possible options:

1. The car owner is the same as the driver. In this case, the car owner is a partner-driver and the car must be 2009 or newer with less than 100,000 km mileage. The car must pass Uber car inspection (which takes place at Yaba or Lekki) and the partner-driver must possess Driver's License and Lagos State Drivers' Institute Card and go through Uber Drivers' Onboarding and pass the assessment.

2. The car owner hires a driver to use the car on Uber and earn an income. Same conditions for the car and driver. In this case, the partner (car owner) must have sufficient time, energy, skills, gut, etc to manage both the car and the driver to ensure optimal usage of the car and earnings.

3. The car owner appoints a registered Uber partner to manage the car and driver and get a fixed income for the car every week, usually on Saturdays. This is where my company plays. We have well-trained drivers and an operations team to ensure the cars are well used and only on Uber. We pay our clients a fixed amount for each car on Saturdays.

4. Hire-purchase or drive-to-own where the car owner gets a driver and the driver remits a fixed amount weekly to own the car at the end of a period.

You can buy very good pre-owned cars in great conditions. The cars do not have to be new. I am available to answer any further questions in order to guide you in this investment decision making.

Hi TokyoBulls,

Sincere apologies for my belated response. Your input is helpful and highly appreciated. I look forward to doing business with you soon.

I'd like to know the price range for pre-owned cars as well.

Thanks

You welcome, are you aware they now accept cars as small as Picanto, Aveo, i10, Xcent and co....

Oh! Not at all!

That's nice. I'm really keen on this Uber thing. They're yet to update this info on their website I believe.

Ur car review after being on Uber is based on riders rating and feedback... So regular maintenance does the trick grin

It's the reason we still have 2008 cars on Uber, The 2016 policy of 2009 cars and above doesn't disturb it.

It's also the reason after ur car clocks over the stipulated mileage still remains on the platform.

It's all about the car Maintenance and Riders Feedback.

Thanks for the response; much appreciated.

I have a few question on this Uber partnership.

I want to believe that Uber reviews it's policies and conditions for partnership periodically. And this includes the type and year of manufacture of preferred cars. Currently, they accept cars made in 2009 or newer models.

If I have a 2009 car in Uber service now, how long can I stay in the service with such car?

How will Uber policy review affect me as a 2009 car owner in the service?

TokyoBulls, raykas, any help, please?

Too many sickening comments here. It's really baffling to see people blame the guy. I don't think it's too much to ask for emotional support in trying times from a woman who claims to be your wife!

that is fayose boy. he persuaded him to come to the house of assembly. the illiteracy no get part two. he turned his certificate of return upside-down during inauguration. when I see the pix I will post here. 70 of ekiti house of assembly members fall into this category. there are two musicians in that house

I have to agree with you!

Without prejudice to the person of Dayo maxima, I have to say he's not the right fit for a lawmaker. I know him from way back and I'm not sure he has changed or become a seasoned and learned fellow such that he'll become a lawmaker just like that.

Fayose has sufficiently trivialized governance, especially in Ekiti.

With the likes of Dayo in the House, I guess the rest are a bunch of jokes who are at the beck and call of Fayose.

Interestingly, I did same yesterday.

I showed up at work in a semi-casual wear, forgetting I had a meeting with executives of a top auditing firm. The white lady in attendance didn't even look bothered. But the rest gave me that 'What!' look. I could feel the stares on me at the meeting. I prayed the meeting to end quick all through. LOL

I'll never forget to set meeting reminders again!
