Common sense senator, Ben Murray Bruce, will not cease to be sarcastic.
Lol

The senator in a tweet explained what he will do now that the price of fuel has now skyrocketed to N145. He said:

”Somebody is asking me for advise on how he can survive fuel price increase. What can I say? Personally I’m even considering buying a horse!”

FamilyRe: HELP! Dad Died Intestate In Nigeria 10 Years Ago, Who Gets What Going By L Of A? by cogbuagu:
Your story is too long and I couldn't read more than half of it but I think is not a difficult case.
Below are tips to help u guys.

I'm not a lawyer but I think I can still advise because my own case made me know more about other cases.

In this case the basis is that your father died intestate oo.

Question: was your mother legally separated with your father?
If YES. Your mother is out of the equation. She will not partake in any thing belonging to your father.
If NO! she owns a big stack in the properties depending on the power of Attorney given to your father's sister by your father.
Your father most have given her sister Power of Attorney. You need to get a copy of it and ask a lawyer to interpret it for you. If it was written that your farhers sister to administrate, it gonna be big case to take it out from her. You guys have to sue that she deceived your father in putting it that way. She is ment to remit rents only.

Most important thing is to get letter of Adminstration. Who can get it?
Who ever has your father's death certificates.
Where do I apply for the letter of Adminstration?
I'm not sure if it will be in Nigeria or country where the properties are. But ask if it's possible to get it in country where the property is. For sure they will ask of the wife during its processing.
In my case my step brother tried doing it with his name he was forced to call my mother. He only succeeded in putting his name and mothers name. Luckily for us when it was begin prepared they put my mother's name first. This means alot. Now we my mother's children are out of the equation because our names aren't there The sharing is to be down by two of them. I'm only advising my mother I can't partake in the sharing.
Note: the properties will be shared to only those in the letter of Adminstration. Who ever his or her name appears first in it is the lead or will take first when shared. If it's only one person's name in it. The property belongs to that person only. Do not allow your brothers name only to be in it. All of you guys names should be included.

Info:
If you mother is to get the letter of Adminstration she should prepare it with her name only or all of your names including hers.

I see your brother trying to use your mother to prepare it with his name only. If he succeed in doing that then you all are out of the equation including your mother.

Forget that you guys are ibos. The property is not in ibo land nor Nigeria.
The government of UK where it is, is to share it for you guys not your town men oo in Nigeria. I'm sure your brother will want them come in because tradiction will favour him. No gree.

UK government will share it qually to all of you. If your mother was separated legally with your father. If not your mother will get half or one third of it and the remaining will be shared equally to you all.

SportsIfeanyi Ubah Elected As Chairman, Anambra State Football Association by cogbuagu(op): 11:59am On May 04, 2016
IFEANYI UBAH ELECTED AS CHAIRMAN, ANAMBRA STATE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION.

The Proprietor of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has been elected the Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association (ASFA). The election held yesterday in Awka.
Chief Ubah, a prominent sports financier, business entrepreneur and newspaper publisher, received the overwhelming support of other prominent members of the state FA to sweep into office as the Board Chairman – in an election witnessed by prominent sports personalities like former National Head Coach, Ambassador Fanny Amun.

Dr. Ubah was elected with 24 votes to zero against Olisa Aniuno at a 26-member delegate congress in Awka.

Also present at the election were Mr. E.C. Chukwuemeka (NFF Electoral Committee Chairman); Sir Chidi Nwafor Okenwa (NFF Appeals Committee Chairman); Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau (NFF President’s Representative and the Chairman of Chairmen’s Forum); and Sen. Obinna Ogba, former NFF Executive Board member and the Chairman, Senate Committee on Sports.
Others present were delegates, members of the congress, guests and members of the print and electronic media.

The former Vice Chairman of the board, Mr. Jude Obikwelu, was returned to his position with 24 votes to zero against his opponent, Obiefuna Akonam. The Chairman of the normalization committee, Ephraim Chukwuemeka had on April 28 at a stakeholders' meeting announced that the election into the ASFA would hold in May.

Speaking at the occasion, the President of the Nigerian Football Federation, through his representative, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, congratulated the Anambra FA for the successful election and called for unity of purpose amongst the members.
In his acceptance speech, Ubah said he was accepting the post with a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to the development of the game of football in Anambra State in particular, and Nigeria as a whole. He pledged to serve with genuine commitment, integrity, honesty and transparency.
He said he would turn around football in Anambra and Nigeria and make it a big industry and a major tourist attraction.
“It is a new dawn for football development in Anambra State. I urge every stakeholder to eschew rancour and collaborate with this new board as we aim to foster the massive development of football in Anambra State. I will deploy my vast network and goodwill to attract private investment as well as improved government participation in football in the state.

It is also to use this opportunity to make sports, particularly football a tourist attraction to the state. The football industry will not only be an entertainment outfit for our people but will also afford them an opportunity to fraternize, unite and strengthen peaceful co-existence amongst all communities and associations irrespective of their religious, cultural, professional and geographical divide. We will also make football a revenue spinner for Anambra state and Nigeria.

“I intend to use this opportunity as Chairman of Anambra State Football Association to provide employment for our teeming unemployed youths in our proposed Football Academy," he said.
Dr. Ubah announced that, in due course, he would unveil a number of programmes/projects designed to actualize the set goals of the Anambra State Football Association. These programmes include the following:
• Anambra Traders Unity Cup
• U-17 Academicals Football Games
• Ifeanyi Ubah Unity Cup
• Anambra Football Hall of Fame and Awards Night
• High Level Training for Football Coaches, Referees and Football Administrators
• Bidding to host 2016 Federations Cup Finals
• Launching of Anambra State Football Association House
• Giving prominence to female football competitions and programmes.

His words: “Indeed, there is no victor and no vanquished in this election. I enjoin everyone to bring whatever he or she has to the table as we start this new journey towards achieving greatness. It is important that we all key into this new football revolution that is coming to Anambra state and every one of us will be happy to part of this success story.

“By the powers conferred as the State FA Chairman, I and the Board hereby declare that every suspension and sanction imposed on any player, coach, referee and any other person during the controversies arising from the State FA election is hereby lifted with immediate effect. Such persons are hereby reabsorbed and advised to go back to his or her association as a free person. We shall forthwith inform the NFF of this decision.
“I wish to also thank the NFF, the electoral body and the Anambra State Government for their roles in the success of this election. Finally, I assure you that Anambra State Football Association will be great again and emerge as a key stakeholder in the sphere of football at the national and continental level.”

The official results of the Anambra State elections into the Executive Board are as follows:

1. Anambra North: Joe Amene; Emeka Raphael and Udu Kingsley (Members).
2. Anambra Central: Dr. C.C. Amuze; Sir Bebeto Anthony Udennaka; (Members). Barrister J.B.C. Obikwelu (Vice Chairman).
3. Anambra South: Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah (Chairman); Sir Albert Chinwe, Mrs Ada Yotchi Edward (Members).

PoliticsThe Coup Speech That Overthrew Buhari On August 27, 1985… by cogbuagu(op): 5:17am On May 01, 2016
I, Brigadier Joshua Nimyel Dogonyaro, of the Nigerian Army, hereby make the following declaration on behalf of my colleagues and members of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Fellow country men, the intervention of the military at the end of 1983 was welcomed by the nation with unprecedented enthusiasm. Nigerians were unified in accepting the intervention and looked forward hopefully to progressive changes for the better. Almost two years later, it has become clear that the fulfillment of expectations is not forthcoming.

Because this generation of Nigerians and indeed future generations have no other country but Nigeria, we could not stay passive and watch a small group of individuals misuse power to the detriment of our national aspirations and interest.

No nation can ever achieve meaningful strides in its development where there is an absence of cohesion in the hierarchy of government; where it has become clear that positive action by the policy makers is hindered because as a body it lacks a unity of purpose.

It is evident that the nation would be endangered with the risk of continuous misdirection. We are presently confronted with that danger. In such a situation, if action can be taken to arrest further damage, it should and must be taken. This is precisely what we have done.

The Nigerian public has been made to believe that the slow pace of action of the Federal Government headed by Major-General Muhammadu Buhari was due to the enormity of the problems left by the last civilian administration.

Although it is true that a lot of problems were left behind by the last civilian government, the real reason, however, for the very slow pace of action is due to lack of unanimity of purpose among the ruling body; subsequently, the business of governance has gradually been subjected to ill-motivated power play considerations. The ruling body, the Supreme Military Council, has, therefore, progressively been made redundant by the actions of a select few members charged with the day-to-day implementation of the SMC’s policies and decision.

The concept of collective leadership has been substituted by stubborn and illadvised unilateral actions, thereby destroying the principles upon which the government came to power. Any effort made to advise the leadership, met with stubborn resistance and was viewed as a challenge to authority or disloyalty.

Thus, the scene was being set for systematic elimination of what, was termed oppositions. All the energies of the rulership were directed at this imaginary opposition rather than to effective leadership.

The result of this misdirected effort is now very evident in the country as a whole. The government has started to drift. The economy does not seem to be getting any better as we witness daily increased inflation.

The nation’s meager resources are once again being wasted on unproductive ventures. Government has distanced itself from the people and the yearnings and aspirations of the people as constantly reflected in the media have been ignored.

This is because a few people have arrogated to themselves the right to make the decisions for the larger part of the ruling body. All these events have shown that the present composition of our country’s leadership cannot, therefore, justify its continued occupation of that position.

Furthermore, the initial objectives and programmes of action which were meant to have been implemented since the ascension to power of the Buhari Administration in January 1984 have been betrayed and discarded. The present state of uncertainty and stagnation cannot be permitted to degenerate into suppression and retrogression.

We feel duty bound to use the resources and means at our disposal to restore hope in the minds of Nigerians and renew aspirations for a better future. We are no prophets of doom for our beloved country, Nigeria. We, therefore, count on everyone’s cooperation and assistance.

I appeal to you, fellow countrymen, particularly my colleagues in arms to refrain from any act that will lead to unnecessary violence and bloodshed among us. Rest assured that our action is in the interest of the nation and the armed forces.

In order to enable a new order to be introduced, the following bodies are dissolved forthwith pending further announcements: (a) The Supreme Military Council (b) The Federal Executive Council (c) The National Council of States. All seaports and airports are closed, all borders remain closed.

Finally, a dusk to dawn curfew is hereby imposed in Lagos and all state capitals until further notice. All military commanders will ensure effective maintenance of law and order. Further announcements will be made in due course. God bless Nigeria.
