Politics › Re: Nigeria And Corruption: A Societal Scenerio by cokoduck: 5:44pm On Jun 26, 2016 |
thomasthomas: During President Buhari's political campaigns in 2015, he talked about fighting corruption, he really emphasised on fighting corruption! Now elections have come and gone and he is doing what he said he was going to do. Why are people angry and against this fight against corruption?
First, I'll use the family scenario to describe. Imagine a boy who is 16 years old (16 years of democracy) who has not been taught anything by his parents, no good morals and behaviour, discipline and self control suddenly finds himself staying with a disciplined uncle who wakes him up by 6am to prepare to go school, he comes back to attend to some house chores and doesn't eat as he likes as against a boy the mother will beg to get up by 7:30am and prepare for school and he always goes to school late and when he is back he goes out with firneds to play games all day without doing any house chore at home. I mean a boy who hasnt sweep the house in 16 years. Imagine how that boy will hate that uncle who is trying to reform him. Out of ignorance, the boy will despise him.
Secondly, imagine someone who got his or her job through nepotism 16 years ago, this fellow was used to collecting bribes before he or she does his official duty. Is either you pay or oga, leave am nah. For 16 years, he was used to illegal funds everyday from the office which helped him or her buy a car, build a house in choice cities, open a business and suddenly a new boss comes in and there's no bribery, he or she is forcedmto attend to people speedily, all staff report to work early by 8am for the first time in 16 years. as against 10am to close by 2pm. Do you think such a boss will be loved? No! But who is doing the right thing? The boss
Thirdly, imagine a country where things were done wrongly for 16 years and all of a sudden, someone wants to correct the ills of the society. Do you think the people will accept it easily? The answer is No, hence the hatred on the President.
I have always said it that most Nigerians lack discipline and self control. We lack good morals and sincerity. Most Nigerians do not know what it means to tell the truth and stand by it and this cuts across all regions and religions.
The opposition President Buhari is getting is that for 16 years of democracy most Nigerians have lived a corrupt life and have benefitted immensely from corruption and they had thought that Nigeria will forever be like this but sadly things are changing and because things are changing these group of individuals because they are highly placed have taken to the media space to preach hate to the equally corrupt less privileged who do not know what's actually going on and the effect of corruption on them. Because of this, there is a transferred aggression of their situation on the President whom the corrupt highly placed individuals are thriving on for their support.
Whoever is corrupt or was corrupt should be made to face the law devoid of tribal, ethinic, regional or religious sentiments. Corruption is killing us all. Imagine the list AMCON released of loans that companies owe. That is enough to cripple the economy and to even imagine that these monies were borrowed a decade ago gives credibility to my analysis.
Nigeria we need a new moral compass, the churches and mosques have failed to give the societal a moral compass, oh how sad! Today a greater percentage wenr to church and now the Muslims are havingntheir fast, will it translate to the moicu needed new moral compass we seek in this country? That will be a discussion for another thread. so Nigeria began in 1999, and not on October 1 1960? Nonsense. |

malvisguy212: because God is a trancendant being. Our physical law does not apply to God. You speak like this because you limit God ability to human level. Your god(intentional small letter g) abi? definitely not Jehovah God, the Grand Author of the Bible, who created the universe and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is not a Father of confusion but of orderliness, but your father the devil is a liar and a manslayer and no atom of truth can be found in him and he is the father also of confusion and disorder, he is the one who brought all these pagan beliefs in a move to dilute the Truth of life so that we may all perish with him. ice the theory of Trinity, which was smuggled in, in the council Nicea in Byzantium, through the emperor Constantine of Constantinople the capital of the Byzantine empire, because he knew very well that a Christian can not be a political figure, instead of resigning he allowed the devil to use him, Look my friend, don't be like Constantine. Nobody can be two persons at a time and not be a Liar and a confusonist. Looking for who to deceive. |

malvisguy212: jesus in the flesh, pray to God his father, he did so because that was the duty of man. It was God the son that made His dwelling on jesus , God the father is in heaven. Twista should be your name, hahaha, If that what you are saying is true then Jesus is a big joker and a Liar. Where in the Bible did you see " It was God the son that made His dwelling on jesus "? Then if God the father is in heaven, why then did you say he is one person, how can ONE person be at two different places at a time, one does something and the other eulogises him, one prays to the other, but they are not two persons but one same person? Christianity and confusion is like 5 and 6 because of you people. |

The question you people should you should ask your self is, who brought Paul into Christianity? Jesus said that he will use Paul as a special vessel to advance the gospel, didn't he? And Paul did not take anything for granted, did he? So Jehovah told Jesus and Jesus told Paul what to do and what to write, just like the Apostle John. |

malvisguy212: when jesus speak this word, He did not know when He will come back again, YES, He is Fully God and at the same time, He is fully Human, His origin is unknown (from ancient of days) But when jesus take up the form of human, is a decision He made, philipian 2:7 say "he emptied Himself by taking the form of a servant" He voluntarily restricted that omniscience to only those things God wanted Him to know during the days of His HUMANITY ( John 15:15). He is God, He emptied Himself for the purpose of his earthly ministry. Nonsense! during the transfiguration, when Peter spoke up, what happened? During his Baptism by John the Baptist, Who spoke from heaven? Towards his final days here on earth, when he and his disciples visited the temple, who spoke to the hearing of everyone in the temple? Who did Jesus pray to when he prayed in the garden of Gethsemane? When he said, FATHER, please take this cup away from me, but not MY wish, let YOUR wish take place, (just summarizing), so if Jesus was God and emptied himself, (of course he did, but as the Son of God not God himself) and now he is on earth and in heaven at the same time, he does one thing here, and I don't know, speaks from heaven at the same time, and he no longer knows certain things, then Jesus must be mankind's biggest joker. I mean it doesn't make any sense. |

chiedu7: OP you must be one of those who dont know the God nor His word!
John the baptist said that he John the Baptist came before Jesus but Jesus is before Him. That's confusing to people like you but John the Baptist was born before Jesus but Jesus has alway been before Him.
John 1:15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
Again Jesus said that no man born of a woman has been greater than John the Baptist,
Matthew 11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
so does it mean that John the Baptist is greater than Jesus, when John the Baptist Himself said that he is not worthy to untie Jesus's shoe laces. Let alone being greater than Jesus.
John 1:27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
Likewise Jesus is saying that only the Father knows His coming.
Matthew 24 (KJV) 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
So only the Father knows, and who is the Father. According to the old testament, Jesus is the Father as God.
Isaiah 9:6 (KJV) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
And Jesus agreed that He and the Father are one.
John 10:30 (KJV) I and my Father are one.
So as human, He does not know but His divine part knows all things. Thats why Jesus said that it's benefical for Him to go to heaven when He is in only His divine state.
John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away:
In His divine state Jesus said He comes soon. So He does know now in His divine state
Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. There is this US rapper called Twista, you own that name now. I no longer know the difference between ALMIGHTY and mighty. Even Jesus called the devil the god of this world. |

A SaharaReporters investigation into criminal activity in the United States by one Aisha Buhari confirms that the perpetrator is not the First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari. SaharaReporters began its latest investigation following the circulation of reports that Mrs. Buhari—wife of President Muhammadu Buhari—was involved in a bribe scheme in 2002 in which she wired the sum of $170,000 to disgraced former US Congressman William Jefferson. The current hysteria around allegations that Mrs. Buhari was involved in this fraudulent transaction as retaliation from the embattled Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, who had some of his Zenith bank accounts frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Mr. Fayose, who is prone to public outbursts, has been at the center of several high-profile scandals including the Ekitigate scandal in which he faces allegations of using money from the Office of the National Security Adviser to rig the gubernatorial election in 2014. Following the freezing of his bank accounts earlier this week, Mr. Fayose resumed attacking President Buhari and his wife, accusing them of corruption. He has also reportedly been sponsoring fabricated stories connecting the First Lady Aisha Buhari to the William Jefferson scandal. The genesis of the allegations linking the current First Lady with the $170,000 transaction has arisen from a sentencing memorandum concerning Mr. Jefferson, who was convicted of corruption in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. In the memorandum, “Aisha Buhari” appears once, on page 22, stating that the money was transferred to Mr. Jefferson from a Nigerian bank account in her name. New York Times reporter Barry Meier published an elaborate report in 2007 titled “Teed Up: Golf, K Street and Nigeria” which prominently featured Mr. Jefferson, “Aisha Buhari,” and the former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Victor Attah. Mr. Meier wrote at the time of “an unlikely cast of characters” seeking “a multimillion-dollar public spending spree initiated by Mr. Attah, an ambitious politician who wanted to be Nigeria’s next president.” According to the account, middle-aged Aisha Buhari entered into the story when, by happenstance, she entered a non-descript Washington DC-based pharmacy and began chatting with a security guard. During that conversation, she allegedly told him that she was the daughter of the former military ruler, General Muhammadu Buhari. Following that conversation, the security guard later introduced Aisha Buhari to DC-based lobbyist Richard Hines. The assembling of these personalities, more than ten years ago, laid the foundation for the criminal activity that followed. SaharaReporters could not ascertain when or how the tale of Aisha Buhari evolved from a US-based woman claiming to be the daughter of former General Muhammadu Buhari to the Aisha Buhari, who is married to present-day President Buhari. However, SaharaReporters investigation into the events around the illegal financial transactions involving an Aisha Buhari and any connection with the First Lady of Nigeria led our investigators to multiple sets of court records in Virginia courts. SaharaReporters found no fewer than six legal cases involving an Aisha Buhari in the Fairfax County General District Court. The earliest date of these cases in the registry is October 19, 2012, with the most recent heard on March 31, 2016. Most of these cases involve debts or wage garnishment. Also notable is that one case, which was heard on December 3, 2015, was appealed by a defendant named Aisha M. Buhari at a time that Nigeria First Lady Aisha Buhari was clearly in Nigeria. This is in addition to a pattern of alleged civil and criminal cases against an Aisha Buhari following the incidents reported by the New York Times in the mid-2000s—a time when now First Lady Aisha Buhari was living in Nigeria. SaharaReporters investigation found that there is another Aisha Buhari, living in the Virginia area: the same Aisha Buhari who claimed to be President Buhari’s daughter but who actually has no relationship with him. During the course of our investigation, we found that a property was sold on June 27, 2014 by Aisha Buhari to one Chiagozia Agbarakwe for $380,000. Evidence shows that that Aisha Buhari purchased the property in 2013 for the sum of $335,000, putting her in Fairfax County, Virginia, during that period. In addition to court evidence, property records, and a list of known addresses belonging to an Aisha Buhari living in the United States, the New York Times in 2007 photographed the Aisha Buhari, who claimed to be the daughter of then General Muhammadu Buhari. SaharaReporters has also obtained a copy of Aisha Buhari’s Nigerian International Passport, which shares the same profile as the photograph published in the New York Times, but she clearly looks nothing like the First Lady Aisha Buhari. SaharaReporters contacted many of the aggrieved individuals who filed legal cases against Aisha Buhari, or their legal counsel, but none wanted to go on record due to the sensitive nature of their legal proceedings. Several of them did, however, confirm that Aisha Buhari was in the United States during the time her alleged activity took place. Source http://saharareporters.com/2016/06/23/aisha-buhari-us-different-nigeria-first-lady-aisha-buhari-saharareporters-finds Who is Shari'a Reporters?
