No I haven't. But Google says it's mainly an electrical fault. Make sure your oil is in other, though.

It's your rocker arm control solenoid. The wiring may be damaged. Let your mechanic or rewire check the wiring around this particular part. Check online to see what it looks like for your vehicle and where it's located

Good evening house, I have a couple of questions.
I have a 2010 crosstour, I serviced the car two weeks and I checked the computer today it’s showing 70% is that normal? I serviced with Mobil 5w20.
Secondly I recently noticed while driving when I try to accelerate sometimes rpm won’t go beyond 3000 and 60km. To fix this I park and turn the engine of and on and it sorts it self. What could be the issue?

For the first query did you reset the computer to 100 percent after the service and what engine oil did you buy. For the second one your car is on limp mode . The VTEC solenoid should be the culprit. If it's blocked by dirt it would happen

5w30 vs 5w20 Engine oil
Which should i use please

Honda Accord 2008

Also what transmission oil is recommended pls
Honda DW1??

Kind help please

A quality 5w20 or 5w30 from a trusted dealer will work. For the transmission, only use dw1 fluid. Beep Rowland for your original dw1. Ensure the engine oil you buy is as top quality as Mobil 1 or Castrol edge or even Pennzoil from a trusted dealer

What do you all think about Naija used Honda Civic 2004/05?
Is it still a good and trouble free car that can offer another 2 years service to a new owner?
What are the common problems to expect and general reliability?
Lastly, is it a safe car for a learner?

Thanks

So long as you get a good unit, it's a very reliable car. It uses a timing belt so ensure to inspect it too

Yeah I understand what you mean especially concerning the gearbox being a cvt.

But the reality is that, so far so good, Honda has actually perfected their cvt technology at that year. Their gearboxes in those 1.5L turbos don’t give issues at all like other manufacturers do/did. Make your findings.

I make bold to say the cvt gearboxes in those models are really solid. I will like the 2.0T but for this tinubu regime na the 1.5T I go jejely manage go house grin

Makes sense

Why? Because of the fuel dilution issue?

Oh no, because it's faster and it's transmission is not CVT

Good evening all

Please I plan on getting a 2008 Accord . I notice that when the key is turned to position 2 (without staring the Engine). All dashboard lights comes on except the check Engine Light.

I believe it’s meant to show when the ignition is turned and disappear when the engine is started.

Is it a serious flag pls?

Make sure the check engine light isn't blocked from the instrument cluster. People do this to hide the fact that something wrong with the car. They simply open the instrument cluster and cover the indicator

Good day car gurus. Thanks for all the assistance here.

My Honda Accord 07 doesn't revv beyond 3000rpm. Again if I step on the clutch pedal forcefully for fast acceleration, the car will be jerking and when I release my foot, car drives fine if I press pedal gently.

Cars idles fine. No jerking while idle only jerks when I forcefully step hard on the pedal. What could likely be the challenge?

Service or replace the VTEC solenoid. It's located behind the engine at the passengers side

Hi best Auto engineers available here
My Honda accord 2005 American spec (EOD) 4plugs doesn’t accelerate properly
Once I slow down and try to accelerate I’ll have to be patient a bit before it gets up to speed and once it does, it just picks up once.
Once the AC is on it becomes worse, cos it’ll seem like the AC is slowing the engine down
I’ve tried countless mechanics, non seem to be able to get the problem.
Please anyone with any idea on a possible solution?
Also please how much is steering rack for Honda accord 2005 American spec (EOD) 4plugs

Do you have the check engine light on? Also have you checked if your exhaust flow is excellent

It still remained the same after servicing the caliper.

I will do what you asked me to do.

11k but if your tyres roll freely then your caliper is fine

I changed my transmission fluid in July this year after I had a blinking D.

I serviced my brake callipers a month ago. I had a check brake system warning on my intrument cluster notification. After servicing the callipers, that warning has disappeared.i did that servicing Last week of November. Other things I have done because of this issue includes rotating my tyres, buying a new tyre for that side, grease have been added to the shaft seal,i have done wheel balancing and alignment four times at four different places and I have changed the hub. And it seems to be getting worse. I am tired honestly.

The moment you serviced your caliper did it get any better? I had same issue with you 2 months ago and it was my break caliper. I once serviced it and the issue stopped then a month later it continued. I had to replace the calipers. Jack your vehicle up and rotate the front left and right tyres with your hands. If it's stiff or very tough to turn then just know your caliper is stuck and needs replacing. Ensure your gear is in neutral and the engine shut off. I hope you are using the original dw1 for your transmission?

Please recommend a good Honda mech within Kosofe/Shomolu Lagos.
My 08 accord vibrates a bit when accelerating. Took it to a mech, he said ball joints need changing; bought the pair. After changing on the driver side, he said the passenger side is still okay. Did alignment thereafter but still notice the vibration.

Check your brake caliper. I suspect it's seizing the rotors when the temperature rises.

Alert me when you find a solution. I am facing same issue. I have done everything. It still persists. Have even changed hub. Four mechanics have checked my shaft and tie rod and ball joints and said they are OK. I have done three alignments. Done tyre rotation. Even bought a new tyre for the side I feel the vibration. Still it still happens.

Two things to check.

1: check your front brake caliper. If they are locking up your car will vibrate on motion.

2: change your transmission fluid because if it's contaminated, it will cause what is called transmission shudder. Transmission shudder is when your car vibrates when you get to a certain speed especially at 35 to 40kmh but the moment you let go of the throttle pedal, the vibration stops

I have a 2008 Honda Accord, 4cl. I recently changed the radiator after the previous radiator was leaking seriously.

I noticed rising engine temperature when in traffic with ac on. I have taken it to the mechanic for inspection, the radiator and condenser fins have been flushed and the fans have been inspected, the water too. The car does not overheat at all when I'm moving fast.

Once I get into traffic for 15-30 minutes. The temperature gauge passes the half mark.

One of the mechanic believe it's a blown head gasket problem while the other mechanic is suggesting I change the radiator.

The current radiator in the car is a double cell eod radiatorand I have no thermostat. All the mechs are saying the radiator should work just fine.

I'm about to pour some money on purchasing a new radiator tomorrow. But I am not Soo sure that's the solution to the problem. I would appreciate response from the car gurus or anyone with similar experience

Does the radiator fluid dry up?

Good day guys

So I have this experience on my HONDA CIVIC 09
When I startup in the morning, it moves smoothly, when when the temperature rises to the optimal, it drags until I force pedal before it pick normal speed.

Scanned the vehicle but no error code, serviced the pump, nozzles, EGR, changed plug, serviced the gear solenoid still the same. Sometimes it even forces itself when changing gear( you will feel the hard shift and will shake the vehicle). Do you think my gear is bad or what?

Kindly help please.

Check your air filter, check if your maf sensor is dirty and also check if your throttle body is dirty

it Nigerian used, we is it expensive or too cheap for the deal

It's not too cheap..go with a good mechanic. Ppl sell their honda v6 cheap because it's a v6. It's naturally undervalued from the start. Test properly, check everywhere including the under for oil leaks and rust. Check the windshield for any signs of replacement, drive and monitor the gear selection. Listen to the engine sound. Don't forget to scan the vehicle

Thank you sir, I am based in Abuja. I experience mild traffic in the morning when going to office ( this can be addressed if I wake up a little earlier). From your experience how what are the sign of missing catalyst, because I believe that particular version of Accord use timing chain.

Accord 4cyl made from 2003 uses timing chain however all honda v6 uses timing belt. Kindly inspect the timing belt also. I too didn't know that it uses belt till I bought it however it's not an issue at all
