adrusa: Disconnect the AC output and see if your tester is still illuminating. Ensure that the misconnection is not coming from your house wiring before technicians start playing with your inverter. This test was done but no changes. It's frustrating because asides from the shocking everything else works perfectly |

bassdow: There's defintely leakAge somewhere. A technician could assist with that.
Also you didn't inform us if said inverter is connected to Grid (NEPA / PHCN), neither did you inform us if said system is earthed. Thanks for your feedback it's connected to the grid but even with grid absent and this is at night it still shocks. The inverter is earthed. From the pv port on the body of the inverter with a tester you will see the AC current flowing. Once the SPD is connected and earthed everything will start shocking. I suspect the current leaks from the pv port to the SPD and to the earthing wire which causes the shock. The house is earthed but the way. |

Hello house. I have a 6kw deye hybrid inverter the plastic body that's trending. Anyways the PV port seems to be outputting AC current somehow. If you put your tester in the port it illuminates and if you connect the PV breaker to the SPD and then earth the SPD my inverter and appliances will be shocking. How can I solve this . Is the inverter having factory issues? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Collione: 4:58am On Apr 05 |
bassdow: Actually, you must not use both PV inputs. You could use just 1 except using a single one wold exceed the max PV input of the inverter. Don't forget, using both PV inputs is similar to running two sets of solar installations as you need extra PV cables, breakers, etc.
Also insituations such as this, using 600w or 650w solar panels becomes an advantage since Oga landLord dey count panels.
if it help, get started while Oga landlord no dey so He doesn't get to see them all BECAUSE him FIT SHOCK if HE SEEs HOW BIG AND WIDE those panels are. Since 2 of una dey same compound, you suppose don know him movement hence should know whether to start very early in the morning or late in evening and finish up the next morning. Thanks for the feedback. This helps |

Hello everyone. With a 6kw deye inverter with 2 PV input. Can I do 3s on pv1 and another 3s on PV 2 with 550 watt bifacial panels mounted on the roof. Note the landlord won't permit more panels |

FerrariBaron: Ok thanks for the candid advice, tubular erased from my mind lol, i will get the 5kwh 48v lvtopsun lithium battery tomorrow and then get either the lvtopsun 5kva 48v inverter or the Growatt 3.5kva 48v or 5kva 48v inverter.
So please will 4 panels of 550 or 605 watts be okay for the setup? Thank you. Yayy the lvtopsun gang . It's a great battery and both inverter choices are good as they can both communicate with the battery. Id stick with a 5kva 48v personally Incase your load increases tomorrow |

If i didn't get haisic, it'd definitely be mr reeds.
I would cry after spending that much money and seeing mr reeds price. I do know the feeling. After seeing his price my mind shake lol however my battery is solid so far. If there is a next time I'll definitely patronizse him. We learn everyday. Lvtopsun brand is great too |

Obnoxious2001: I think it ought to be able to communicate with the battery.
Select pyl on your inverter and connect to can port of the battery. It ought to work The inverter doesn't have this setting. Maybe because it's a transformer based hybrid inverter. Either I give up on this venture or I look out for a professional that can assist. It's tiresome |

The pylon setting, is it on the battery side? |

I want to take this opportunity to appreciate this group in my inverter journey. I love my set up so far. The 10kwh battery is monstrous for my daily usage so much so that I barely consume 10 percent every night with fridge and fan on and the Firman inverter is a champ although I'm still disappointed that it can't communicate via BMS still but I set the parameters as bulk 54.4v and float as 54.0v keeping my battery at 96 percent full charge not 100 though the recommendation is 55.2 bulk and 54.4 float. If anyone is able to communicate Firman with lvtopsun I'd like to hear it as it's important to me. God bless you all for your amazing work |

Whenever I connect my Firman inverter to the lvtopsun battery and then turn on gbf BMS function, the inverter stops supplying power instantly all my light goes off unless I turn off the BMS function. I need help resolving this please |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Collione: 10:38am On Jul 25, 2025 |
mctfopt: That was fast.
What was the issue? The inverter is a Firman inverter 5kva 48v transformer based hybrid while the battery is lvtopsun 51.2v 200ah. I simply reset everything by turning off the inverter and battery for a few minutes then turning them back on again. Somehow it resolved the issue. I attached some images. The first is the battery reading from the inverter while the second is from the battery when fully charged. Is this normal

lets see how that goes

olopan: All is fine from this angle if the battery is a 16s battery.
can you please send a picture of the sticker on the battery? I am having this feeling it's a 15s battery.
@15s the batteries will all be more than full, which is 3.68V instead of sticker of 3.65V, which for long-time usage is pretty bad. Good morning . So sorry for the delayed feedback. Because of the way the battery was placed getting a picture was tricky. Please find attached. Thank you

Jbond: When an issue is stressed upon it obviously becomes like a must. If it is my choice to make like you mentioned, i am sure the buy from mr this nd that on almost every of my post wont have been this much to the extent when i ask a question, the reply will be mr this and that can make this for you, buy from mr this and that haba.
Whenever i ask a question, some people here were helpful, while most were more bent on buy from mr this and that and were not even bothered about what i asked even when i took my time to explain why i dont buy things online, then the matter turn to hostility from their subsequent replies, anyway na my fault. I have been reading your responses and it doesn't tally at all. What I see so far are people who genuinely wish to help you. They have shared their advice and experience but instead of appreciating this you just came out guns blazing. Shitting on their efforts with your negative aura. They had the option to stay quiet but regardless they were more than happy to help. I'm able to get the right set-up thanks to this group. If you knew that this isn't your first rodeo then I believe you are already well equipped. Don't forget, like you we are all human and we should act accordingly ,professionally and with empathy. |

Valto: select *USE* or *USER* profile on your firman inverter , then edit the low voltage disconnect to 48v. also edit charge voltage to what your battery manufacturer specified! Thanks for the feedback unfortunately I can't seem to find Lvd on the manual just the battery lockdown voltage which I'm not sure what it means |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Collione: 9:59am On Jul 21, 2025 |
olopan: You need to check the manual for a more in-depth explanation of the lockdown voltage.
But in my own opinion, I believe you should set the lockdown to 48V for safety or precaution. Thanks for your feedback. Please find the image attached

Hello good morning everyone.im having challenges setting up my battery settings on the inverter. It's a 5kva firman inverter with an lvtopsun battery. For lvtopsun the battery cut off voltage is 48v. Honestly I don't know the meaning of cut off voltage. However for the firman it says the battery lock down voltage is 42v . Is lock down voltage and cut off voltage the same? I don't want a scenario whereby the battery goes lower than it should as the BMS doesn't seem to be communicating |
