Peppermintflav:Congrats also check if the reservoir cover and the hose connection is good. Your radiator cover isn't looking so clean so I'm wondering how the inside may be. If it's having a clay colour I suggest flushing it after your test is done |
Jamie1000:Oil consumption can happen even to 4 cylinder engines same as misfire and transmission issues. Just ensure you are getting a v6 from year 06 upward and use only honda dw1 genuine fluid from reliable sources. Avoid buying an abused vehicle. |
graceyg:May be best you reach out to luvinhubby for your peace of mind |
kasillars:I personally dislike hardex oil but I guess it works for others . I'd rather go for coastal oil to be honest . Vtm4 is referring to your axle . It could be bad or the fluid inside is low, empty or requires replacement. You need to get your mechanic to find out which. When my CRV had that light on, I found my self replacing the axle cos I never knew it uses fluid . Wasn't cheap. |
Jamie1000:Amazing vehicle, very quick very reliable so long as it's maintained and my God it's super silent. Mine sounds like an electric vehicle from inside the cabin and Fuel consumption is very ok so long as all catalytic converters and o2 sensors are functioning properly. The only con that bothers me personally is that it uses timing belt. Maybe because it's my first timing belt car but then again all honda v6 uses timing belt. The engine is an interference engine meaning that if your timing belt snaps the piston will hit the valve and the valve will bend. But hey like everything else timing belts have change intervals and they last as long as 5 to 7 years or 70k miles so long as you get the original. I enjoy mine and my preventive measure is for my mechanic to inspect my timing belt every 4 months |
Burchester:My mechanic Is in Lagos as am I. Hopefully someone here has one at Abuja |
Burchester:My goodness if that mechanic welded the camshaft without your permission please replace that mechanic. IV had such experience with a Camry I once owned. If it's Indeed welded with I'm sure @Dozieson's guess is correct, kindly replace the camshaft. Infact replace the mechanic and the camshaft. If you need a mechanic just ask here or around |
Burchester:P0341 camshaft position sensor A is faulty. Simply replace P0420 Your bank 1 (facing the firewall also known as the back of the engine) catalytic converter is bad and needs replacing or rekitting. P0128 coolant thermostat needs attention. Hope the fans weren't connected directly. You need a rewire to check this. |
sandammy:Modern cars uses injectors so I see no reason why it should have a hard time starting when parked for 3 weeks maybe unless your battery was flat but I'm guessing your battery had some charge. If your check engine light is on , probably scan it incase it has a code related to that issue. Hard starting can be caused by alot of things example dirty throttle body, faulty or dirty mass airflow sensor, plugs, etc. For the humming sound when you turn your steering. It's causd by the power steering pump. Check if your steering fluid is guaged. If the sound doesn't go in a few days of driving, then u have two options. One is to fix or replace the pump and two is to use it like that so long as the steering is soft as before |
Timblogga:Go ahead and get the v6. I personally drive a 2007 accord v6 and I love it. It's quick , solid on the ground and silent. The 2013 upward will be even better |
nickyosas:P2184: Coolant temperature sensor issues. Get a rewire to check it out or replace it. P0533: AC refrigerant pressure sensor issues. P0133: Bank 1 Oxygen sensor slow response. Check for exhaust leaks , vaccume leaks , a broken oxygen sensor wire else replace if your checks seems ok P0010: check oil control solenoid usually found at the left side of the engine |
Timblogga:I don't know much about this year but what I do know is that all honda v6 engines are interference engines and they use timing belts. So long as you follow the maintenance schedule and replace with OEM parts on the due date you are good to go. As for speed it's pretty quick and reliable. Just try not to wait till your timing belt snaps. Oh and I think they use electric power steering so not sure how that works too I'm still in the hydraulic era lol |
baba4thegehs:Instrument cluster is where your speedometer and other guages are displayed |
baba4thegehs:No doubt, that's the security light. It will keep flashing so long as your door is locked. There is also security light on the radio for higher trims of that model. For my accord security light flashes both on the instrument cluster and the radio |
bobkezel:Oh yeah it's a DIY device. All you need is the Odb2 device and your android phone. Then you download torque lite app or infocar or any other vehicle diagnostic app from playstore. Insert the scan tool in your cars OBD2 port, turn on your Bluetooth and location service, open your app and that's all. |
bobkezel:I have a 2009 accord with a 4 cylinder engine available aka evil spirit going for 1.6m if interested |
bobkezel:Oh yea . Cars from 1996 till date can be scanned using this tool. |
Ernesttoby30:Call 08029741950 his name is Aliu |
Burchester:P0970: your transmission shift solenoid is bad. Image as shown below. This can cause poor shifting or delayed engagement. P0171: System too lean. Cars use air and fuel to a certain ratio. If too much air enters more than fuel then it causes problems same with too much fuel than air. In this case too much air. Check for a crack or leak in your intake hose the one attached to the throttle body. Also use electronic cleaner to clean your maf or map sensor, clean or replace your air filter and clean your throttle body. If your hose is indeed broken please replace it and don't fix it unless the fixer is a pro P0420: your catalytic converter is bar. Doesn't lose much of a problem just a slight decline in fuel economy. Fix or replace P0128: something is wrong with your coolant thermostat. Let a rewire check it out
|
Ernesttoby30:If you are in Lagos I'd recommend someone for you before you make a final decision. Basically he is the final Decision. |
dayjeee:Whenever I hear conversion here in Nigeria I become uncomfortable because I don't know the level of expertise that went into it. Are you ready for the wahala that may happen in the future if something goes wrong? I'd say avoid it |
baba4thegehs:Take a picture of the light please |
iamlarry99:What's your rpm when it's idle and also when the gear is engaged and AC is on. If you are in Lagos I can recommend a mechanic that can help diagnose it. If your engine mounts are good but the car vibrates it could be anything ranging from the throttle body, maf sensor, nozzles etc. You need a pro to check it out |
sylvez:This may need physical checks. If your in Lagos I have a mechanic who can take a look |
emadamysy:Check your engine and transmission mounts. Also scan the car Incase you have codes relating to sensors that may cause vibrations |
iamlarry99:If you have the check engine light on, kindly scan your car. Anything including the nozzles can make it vibrate excessively but I'd start with a scan . |
sylvez:Can you describe the vibration noise a bit. Is it that the transmission makes a noise when you switch to drive or reverse or you feel heavy vibrations when the gear is engaged |
Themi06:I have a great mechanic at ejigbo Lagos which is why I asked |
Get your vehicle scan tool today. We have alot of inexperienced mechanics out there ooo them no Sabi anything but to spoil motor #5k only Delivery is nationwide DM for yours |
temi4fash:Honda isn't just synthetic blend but also fully synthetic. Fully synthetic is able to withstand high engine temperature better and it doesn't break down easily compared to synthetic blend. In as much as synthetic blend isn't bad fully synthetic is better |
Viking07:Looking forward to hearing from you |
tolajay:So long as you are using the original dw1 it will last however if the transmission fluid is pink then you are good but brown means it's oxidizing and needs replacement soon |
