Good Afternoon House. I have Honda Accord 2004. Recently I noticed some vibrations from the front wheel when I’m accelerating and this vibrations will start from 40km/h up till 80km/h and vehicle starts running smoothly from that point until I’m starting over again.

I visited a mechanic to help me check the from wheel shaft and all. He complained about the skeleton/bearing in the shaft cup for the right shaft (the long one) and said the other shaft bearing I.e the driver side is manageable but this vibration still persist after changing the passenger side shaft bearing bearings. The vibration is more prevalent on the driver side recently. All engine mounts are intact.

What could be the problem? I’m considering changing the brake disc for the driver side cos I kinda notice friction and also try and replace the bearing for the driver side too. I need expert advise from the house before making my decision.

Thank you all.

Change your transmission fluid. You can do a research on Google with the search parameter "transmission shudder". It is caused by contaminated gear oil making the car vibrate from 40km/h however the moment you stop throttling the vibration stops.

Hi guys
Please is it possible for a civic 04 Japan not to have O² sensor
I scanned the car and it brought
p0133
We checked for the o2 sensors and none was there...... There's no even port for the sensor all tru the exhaust.

It also brought one code about throttle body.......but my kazeem adjusted it and the code isn't coming again but the throttle isn't functional at 100%
Also the inner CV joints (spider Boris/Bearing) as always been breaking....now we wan go lapido to buy complete shaft. But he said we should go for new inner cup n bearing since the shaft isn't making any noise.

I'd Change my mechanic though However I have never seen any Morden vehicle without an O2 sensor especially a Honda

Morning guys, I just scanned my car now and it brought up this code. P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1

Does that mean I need to change catalyst? It was confirmed that catalyst was in the vehicle but I’m now confused

Your catalytic converter is bad. Replace it

My steering is hard to turn when entering corners or a roundabout.

The pump is good and my mechanic thinks it is the steering rack.

I don't have much for new one.

The car is Honda Accord 2007.

Questions

1. Should I rebuild it?

2. Should I buy toks or must buy a new one?

Please I need your help on this.

Thank you all.

I rebuilt mine and I'm enjoying it.

Hello, please kindly help me out

My Honda DC, Only moves for like 2 to 3minute and later stop moving while on drive and doesn't Reverse. sometimes the D light will start blinking but when I press Thottle it's make sound like humming and jerk as if it's work is not complete and Off.
I thought it's was shortage of transmission oil fluid so therefore I added Holt oil fluid but stil the same...
Please your advice

Were you using Holt's to service the transmission? You may need to replace the transmission entirely but for now u will need a mechanics advice. If u ask me I'll say u should scan the car and find out which of your transmission solenoid is failing. Replace the solenoid in order for the D light to stop blinking, remove the fluid and replace it with original oando ATF from their filling station. If you do this and the symptoms persist, then you may have to change the transmission entirely but if it's ok for a month, then you will have to drain and refill with oando again after about month you drain and refill with thr original dw1. Good luck

Good afternoon and thanks for the help

IAT : CLEAN ELSE REPLACE (clean the sensor first then wipe fhr code and test drive for 20 minutes. If symptoms persist then replace)

MAF: CLEAN FIRST ELSE REPLACE . Also replace the air filter and service thr throttle body

fuel system too rich caused caused by a bad or dirty MAF sensor,

EGR: Get it unclogged if clogged. Replace if necessary

P2176: Your throttle body has failed to learn it's appropriate positioning based on the way you depress the pedal. Clean throttle body thoroughly and check the wiring. If it still persists then replace

P2185 : Engine coolant temperature sensor. Inspect and or replace. I hope the radiator fan isn't connected directly.

Get a rewire to check all your fuses both the one inside your vehicle in the drivers side and in the engine bay. Sometimes failed fuses causes some codes to pop up. This is especially true for the EVAP code. Replace your transmission fluid. P0172 is more than enough to make your car have driveability issues trust me I'm a testimony and the funny thing is everything asides EVAP causes drivability and fuel economy issues so it's a miracle that the car even drives

Good evening everyone. Honda CR-V 2008 has been acting funny recently. I noticed if I accelerate over 60, one of three things is bound to happen.

1. Burning Smell from the front of the car.
2. The car can lose power mid speed. Especially if I ply a rough road or speed bump. It will just stop accelerating, acceleration pedal stops working, the battery light comes on, AC stop chilling. I’ll have to park the car and restart it before I can continue my journey.

This happened 4 times today at very risky places; third mainland bridge, eko bridge, Lekki-Epe.

I’ve recently changed the fuel pump just yesterday with hopes it will stop doing that and also jerking.

I just bought this car Nigerian used it’s not up to a month and I’m tired.

I need advice please. Thinking of selling it off cos this one was a total rookie mistake on my part being my first car. Pls help.

I'll also advise that you park the car until you get it scanned. Burning smell usually points to a burning transmission fluid cos of its poor quality. Happened to me when I once used a fake dw1 transmission fluid

Hi house,

My Honda Accord 2009 consumes a lot of fuel 5k fuel doest last me one week regardless of putting on the AC highest 3days. I have catalyst or could it be the 02 sensor in the exhaust.

Can you tell us in simpler terms how your movement is on a daily basis? Like where exactly is point A and where is point B. Do you experience heavy traffic and how long are u usually on the road a day with the car on. Don't ever compare your 2.4 liter engine to a 1.8 corolla engine this is big misconception. If your check engine light is on too then kindly scan

My 2014 honda accord alarm keeps blaring randomly. Any idea on how to permanently disable the alarm?
A rewire guy said it can only be done with a computer or so.

One of the catch sensors or door sensors is malfunctioning. There is one on the boot, doors, fuel closure and bonnet. You have to find out which one is having an issue

I am currently facing a similar but more severe issue.

I am also a first time car owner, here are my issues:

1. Got a 2008 Nigerian used honda accord car on 22nd Dec 2021 for N1.8m
2. I went with a friend who has been driving honda cars for over 11yrs, he brought his mechanic that has been fixing his car for over seven years.
3. Him and the mechanic confirmed the car ok before I paid, though the car was making noise but the car dealer convinced us that it was just a catalyst that we need to buy.
4. The mechanic drove the car to his workshop to do the necessary servicing and to fix the catalyst, I transferred 120k to him to buy and change everything necessary, he checked the legs, fixed new catalyst, changed the tires and changed oil using 5W-30 oil since we could not get the 5w-20.
5. After servicing the car that same day, the noise reduced but still loud, the car also vibrate on ac and on idle, I took the car back to the mechanic, he was afraid to tell me that it is an engine problem.
6. So I called the car dealer, he brought his mechanic and they confirmed that the noise is coming from the oil pump and top, I gave him 50k to change it on 28th December 2021.
7. On 20th January 2022 the same sound returned, this time it was louder, I took it to the mechanic and it was the oil pump again, this time, the price of oil pump has increased because I went with them to buy it myself, I spent 60k to fix the oil pump again on 25th Jan 2022
8. Fast forward to yesterday, 6th Feb 2022, the sound returned again.
9. Today 7th January 2022, I took it to the same mechanic, he said the parts seller sold bad oil pump to me that I should tell him to change it for me, the parts dealer is insisting that the oil pump he sold to me was ok.
9. The parts dealer brought his mechanic, they call the Mechanic 'Awilo' at Willoughby here at Oyingbo, Awilo said that he'll have to dismantle the engine in order to confirm every fault with the car, but he's suspecting that the crankshaft will be bad, that I should budget N200k.
10. I went back to the mechanic, and he advised me that I should not allow them to dismantle the engine that he is very sure that the problem is the oil pump.
10. With all the repairs that has been going on, the car still make a very loud vibration except when on motion, the ac cools well only when on motion or when the weather is cold i.e morning and evening time

Dear Nairalanders, I am regretting the fact that I used my money to go and buy wahala worth N1.8m, you guys should please help me with what I can do. I live around Oyingbo, Lagos.

I'm sorry about your experience. It's painful. I'd advise you stop fixing that engine and replace it when you can . You can reach out @luvinhubby when ready

Hello Conner44, Luvinhunby and other great engineers. You deserve an honorary degrees in Automative engineering. Thank you for the great work. You are indeed a blessing to us and may God multiply your joy.

Please I am in between opinions based on the jerking issues I had after using Jeezco palm oil for my Honda City 2006 which I earlier explained.
Please how long can I still drive it before changing the transmission. I learnt transmission is 200k and it's not within my reach now.
Also Original Honda CVT it around 6,500 per litre or so, can changing the oil help reduce the jerky and gear shifting issues, and the occasional blinking of the Drive D signal when engine is started? and for how long can I keep managing that before changing the transmission. I intend scanning the car perhaps there are other issues to be addressed too aside the gear and what are the chances of repairing the Body Value of the CVT gears pending when a new one will be procured. Sincerely I need experienced and sincere counsel. The deed has been done. Thank you all. I am grateful.

First and foremost no one is above mistakes. The purpose of this forum is for learning and Sharing ideas. That being said, stop driving your car to avoid more damages. Yes it's very possible that your transmission it's last legs but do the best you can at the moment. Scan the car and share the codes here. Amongst those codes it will reveal the sensors causing issues on your CVT transmission. Secondly drain that transmission fluid too . When you have replaced the bad transmission solenoid and also replaced the fluid, drive the car for a week. If the car doesn't display any further problems, drain the transmission fluid again and put in a new one. But if it still gives issues after all this, then manage it till you can afford another. Times are hard and I know how you feel. Scan the car and let's start from there

Hello House,
I just got this 2012 Accord Tokunbo(150,000 miles) and i will like to know
- Should i use 5W-20 or 5w-30(Is there a particular brand)
- Water or coolant?
- How often to change the ATF
- What is the best way to increase ground clearance as it seems very low for our roads
Thanks so much.

I tap from your blessings ooo. Very beautiful ride. Make God open way for me too make I buy this beat too.

So long as it's tokunbo you can use any. Yes 5w20 is recommended but 5w30 won't hurt it either. However please don't use substandard fluids. Use popular name brands with good API and dexos rating. Oils like mobile, liqui moly, Pennzoil, super tech, valvoline are very nice . Ensure you get it from a reliable source in order to avoid stories

Coolant is recommended get the OEM from luvinhubby.

If your routes aren't filled with bad roads and you vont carry load you can leave ity car is as high as yours However you can get bigger tyres if you Wana increase your clearance.

Id say you should change your transmission fluid every 2 years of you drive very frequently I. Order to keep it clean and lubricated. High temperature causes transmission fluids to oxidize quickly. The more it oxidizes the quicker it deteriorates

I decided to start from easier fix.
I changed the radiator cap and everything seems normal now. I've driven the car in 20mins hold up, under hot sun, no hissing no temperature rise.

The old cap..

Congrats also check if the reservoir cover and the hose connection is good. Your radiator cover isn't looking so clean so I'm wondering how the inside may be. If it's having a clay colour I suggest flushing it after your test is done

Oil consumption can happen even to 4 cylinder engines same as misfire and transmission issues. Just ensure you are getting a v6 from year 06 upward and use only honda dw1 genuine fluid from reliable sources. Avoid buying an abused vehicle.

Hello house,
1. please which engine oil can u recommend for Honda pilot 03, used to use Mobile Xhp... But, it's become scarce and too many fake out there ... Is Hardex gold 5w-30 ok.. my mechanic recommends it
2. What could be the cause of VTM4 and VSC light showing on the dash board

I personally dislike hardex oil but I guess it works for others . I'd rather go for coastal oil to be honest .

Vtm4 is referring to your axle . It could be bad or the fluid inside is low, empty or requires replacement. You need to get your mechanic to find out which. When my CRV had that light on, I found my self replacing the axle cos I never knew it uses fluid . Wasn't cheap.

Honda Accord v6
Who have an experience of the car. I want to know the pros and cons

Amazing vehicle, very quick very reliable so long as it's maintained and my God it's super silent. Mine sounds like an electric vehicle from inside the cabin and Fuel consumption is very ok so long as all catalytic converters and o2 sensors are functioning properly. The only con that bothers me personally is that it uses timing belt. Maybe because it's my first timing belt car but then again all honda v6 uses timing belt. The engine is an interference engine meaning that if your timing belt snaps the piston will hit the valve and the valve will bend. But hey like everything else timing belts have change intervals and they last as long as 5 to 7 years or 70k miles so long as you get the original. I enjoy mine and my preventive measure is for my mechanic to inspect my timing belt every 4 months
