Greeting guys!

Yesterday, my civic 06 suddenly went off while driving, after making clicking sounds. Tried to start and the clicking sound continued repeatedly, waited for some minutes and it started.
Today, same thing happened, it pulled a code P0685 - ECM/PCM power relay control malfunction.

Pls gurus in the house, gazzuzz, kingreign, luvinhubby, how do I resolve this?

The error code is pointing to your ECM relay. Get a professional rewire to check every fuse and relay located in the engine bay of the vehicle and let him replace the ECM relay in the fuse box.

É dey pull leg. There's nothing they can do about it. Please buy the Toyota that doesn't pull leg at all

Get your information straight my man. The so called leg from 08 upwards is more reliable. Are you saying that Toyota doesn't pull if not maintained or are you saying that a well maintained Hondas tyre will pull. Don't misinform others please. If you don't know, ask questions. Dont infect this thread with your childish 1950s Toyota syndrome

Pls house help! My car, 2008 Honda Pilot recently brings out blue smoke from exhaust when I accelerate. I recently changed engine oil, that was on October. I used Hardex 5w20.
However, I didn't use the car often because I wasn't around. It was mostly packed.
NB: I used the same Hardex 5W20 earlier & didn't have any such issue.
Aside the blue smoke coming out from the exhaust, no other issue seen.

What could cause the blue smoke coming out?
Do I need to change the oil again?
What should I do?

Thanks

I for one do not like Hardex or support the use of it. It's possible that your car has been smoking but you never noticed it till recently however it's also possible that the oils viscosity isn't up to standard on high temperature which is why I always recommend the usage of high quality oil like Mobil 1, Pennzoil, liqui moly etc especially when you want to stick to 5w20 in temperate regions. I'd suggest you visit any mobile filling station and buy their Mobil 2000 5w30 oil and service your vehicle again and see what happens.

Please how much is Honda civic front passenger hub? And is knacking bearing into it advisable?

Cc luvinhubby Gazzuzz etc

A good bearing Job should suffice it depends on your pocket. In the market today you can barely tell which hasn't been tampered with and which has unless u have a good plug. Basically both options are ok in my opinion

That's too long ago for a car used in Nigeria. You will need a good mechanic to inspect if it's really what you wish to buy

I'd start with scanning the vehicle. What transmission fluid do you use?

I managed to get the car to a repair workshop. The scan indicated P1659.The auto mechanic changed something in the fuse box and told me to test drive it.Right there in his workshop the noise ceased when the gears were engaged. When I got back to the road I stopped to get something and the problem resurfaced again!Any one with experience on this please help!

Sorry about your experience. Whatever relay or fuse he fixed is bad again. Take it back to him and let him change the bad fuse or relay entirely. They are relatively cheap. If somehow it still occurs again then there is a bridge in your wiring somewhere causing the relay to get damaged. E.g my o2 sensor wire got melted on my exhaust and kept causing a fuse to blow. Your case needs to be properly diagnosed and damaged parts replaced and not managed

My acura mdx 08 vibrates when I put it on drive and hold the break with the AC on. Though the vibration is not visible to the eyes but u feel it when u tough the steering . What could be the cause? I have changed plugs yet no solution. Engine shows no codes

Check your engine mounts . A broken engine mount won't be able to dampen vibrations. If it's so much on the steering, it's most likely the rear mount but check them all first.

Thanks for your prompt responses. I tried clearing and it came back almost immediately once I turn of the Ignition and put it back on.

Can you help me identify this fuse? Or what to look out for.

Just meet a good rewire to go through all the fuses in your car (engine bay fuse box and drivers left feet side fuse box). If he encounters a bad one let him replace it and not bridge it with a wire.

Please how can i buy this scanner and how much?

It's what I sell actually. #5k. You can DM me via 08124145301 if interested. It's always good to have.

P.s because your transmission is involved , you need to scan your car with much bigger diagnostic tool than the one I'm selling. Those ones can scan transmission better. I'd also recommend that you stop driving the car for the time being. If you don't mind me asking, where is your location?

Abuja

Mine is Lagos. The Evap system is split into two . One is located inside the engine bay and the other is near the fuel tank under the car. It can be triggered by a number of things from a faulty wire , burnt out fuse, disconnected hose , clogged cannister etc. Try clearing the check engine light. If it returns immediately it means a fuse somewhere is bad but if it doesn't return immediately but only return when you have driven for a while at higher speeds then it means something is wrong with the Evap system somewhere.

I drive a 2008 Honda Accord and it recently developed an issue. When I engage the gear in reverse or drive it makes a 'kpoom' sound and the engine vibrates for a split second. When moving it takes a while for the car to pick up speed and climbing a hill is now difficult.Someone suggested I check the engine seating, which I did.The engine seating is intact. What could be the problem?

Kindly scan the car and post the codes here if any. What kind of transmission fluid do you use?

Good afternoon All…
I just recently replaced my 02 sensor on a 2008 civic 1.8L. And only this stubborn code keeps popping up P0498 there by making my CEL stay on.

And I don’t even know what to solve it once and for all

P0498 is your evap cannister. Did you get any work done on the car recently? Like change your throttle body or something?

I noticed today my temperature gauge rose above the usual point (like second line after c) today to mid point between H and C

should i be worried??

Start with the simple things. Inspect your radiator and reservoir covers. If they are bad, kindly replace them. If your radiator is dirty after a visual inspection, you can take it to a specialised car wash to get it cleaned up in order for air to flow through it better. Also if you are using water, it's not a great coolant for modern vehicles.

Guys please what’s the best oil for 2013 civic ( kindly refer a reliable source if you know ) and what are the traditions to follow when one just buys a Tokunbo car. Thanks

1:Oil type is 0w20 or 5w20 fully synthetic from any reputable brand like Mobil 1, Pennzoil, liqui moly, Castrol, super tech , Honda e.t.c Don't go cheap on oil. These oils can go as long as 5k to 7k miles depending on the brand.

2: Ensure to service your transmission with only genuine Honda transmission fluids. You can get it from luvinhubby.

3: use only coolant in your radiator. You can also get the OEM coolant from luvinhubby. If you can't afford to, you can use the coolants sold at total fuel stations.

Just keep a good maintenance history with an experienced mechanic along with a scan tool and the car will serve you. Congratulations on your awesome ride.

1: it's universal
2: yes it can be adjusted provided you monitor the installation or do it yourself
3: dland bi-led projector.
4: it's mounted in the dim section ( it got a low and high solenoid that works perfectly with your car light switch that's if you do the connection well)

They are very bright and well focused on the road.

Updated : looks on the car.

This is amazing. How can I reach you for tips on how to get this done on my EOD.

My questions are
1: Does it have a specific size or is the size universal
2: can it be adjusted Incase for some reason the light isn't pointing at the road properly.
3: is there a specific make that I should look out for in order to get a very bright version.
4: is it mounted in the dim or full light area of the headlight chassis.
