Gurus please educate me on this issues.
1. Can parking car for a long time like 3 weeks cause it not to start quickly? My civic 07 Asian type gave me this issue before it finally start.

2. Is it normal for car engine to change sound while car is idle and the steering is turned left or right? I mean I turned my steering and heard this humming sound and can still be heard even when I turn while driving.
Mechanic said it's normal for power steering to make such noise.
Cc. Collione et al

Modern cars uses injectors so I see no reason why it should have a hard time starting when parked for 3 weeks maybe unless your battery was flat but I'm guessing your battery had some charge. If your check engine light is on , probably scan it incase it has a code related to that issue. Hard starting can be caused by alot of things example dirty throttle body, faulty or dirty mass airflow sensor, plugs, etc.

For the humming sound when you turn your steering. It's causd by the power steering pump. Check if your steering fluid is guaged. If the sound doesn't go in a few days of driving, then u have two options. One is to fix or replace the pump and two is to use it like that so long as the steering is soft as before

Good afternoon Sirs.
I scanned my car, a Honda CRV 2008 with today and got the following codes:
P2184
P0135
P0141
P0533
P0113
P0010
I want to know in what order of severity and expenses should i start to fix them.

Thanks!

P2184: Coolant temperature sensor issues. Get a rewire to check it out or replace it.

P0533: AC refrigerant pressure sensor issues.

P0133: Bank 1 Oxygen sensor slow response. Check for exhaust leaks , vaccume leaks , a broken oxygen sensor wire else replace if your checks seems ok

P0010: check oil control solenoid usually found at the left side of the engine

Please I wanna upgrade to this 2013-2015 Honda Accord. Please who has any opinion on the V6 models so I don’t make any mistake. Thanks

I don't know much about this year but what I do know is that all honda v6 engines are interference engines and they use timing belts. So long as you follow the maintenance schedule and replace with OEM parts on the due date you are good to go. As for speed it's pretty quick and reliable. Just try not to wait till your timing belt snaps. Oh and I think they use electric power steering so not sure how that works too I'm still in the hydraulic era lol

Thank you...by instrument cluster you mean dashboard? Because this particular one is on the dashboard.

Instrument cluster is where your speedometer and other guages are displayed

Here is it

No doubt, that's the security light. It will keep flashing so long as your door is locked. There is also security light on the radio for higher trims of that model. For my accord security light flashes both on the instrument cluster and the radio

OK, thanks. Is it a DIY?
Can you throw more light on it, if you don't mind....

Oh yeah it's a DIY device. All you need is the Odb2 device and your android phone. Then you download torque lite app or infocar or any other vehicle diagnostic app from playstore. Insert the scan tool in your cars OBD2 port, turn on your Bluetooth and location service, open your app and that's all.

Hi all, How can one diagnosed this codes

P0970: your transmission shift solenoid is bad. Image as shown below. This can cause poor shifting or delayed engagement.

P0171: System too lean. Cars use air and fuel to a certain ratio. If too much air enters more than fuel then it causes problems same with too much fuel than air. In this case too much air. Check for a crack or leak in your intake hose the one attached to the throttle body. Also use electronic cleaner to clean your maf or map sensor, clean or replace your air filter and clean your throttle body. If your hose is indeed broken please replace it and don't fix it unless the fixer is a pro

P0420: your catalytic converter is bar. Doesn't lose much of a problem just a slight decline in fuel economy. Fix or replace

P0128: something is wrong with your coolant thermostat. Let a rewire check it out

Pls house, I am about to buy a honda civic 2007 hybrid, owner has converted it to a normal system. Is there any issue with vehicles converted from hybrid to normal?

Whenever I hear conversion here in Nigeria I become uncomfortable because I don't know the level of expertise that went into it. Are you ready for the wahala that may happen in the future if something goes wrong? I'd say avoid it

Hello friends, I noticed a red light blinking on my Honda accord 07 dashboard, this is entirely different from the anti theft light.
This is the first time I'm seeing such, and if I could recall it happend after my key remote system stopped working for like 2 weeks I had to resort to manually open and lock the car, but I recently changed the batteries on the key and it's working again, but the red light still blinks anytime I lock the car.
Not sure of what this is

Take a picture of the light please

No check engine light

What's your rpm when it's idle and also when the gear is engaged and AC is on. If you are in Lagos I can recommend a mechanic that can help diagnose it. If your engine mounts are good but the car vibrates it could be anything ranging from the throttle body, maf sensor, nozzles etc. You need a pro to check it out

Thanks for response,

It's like an humming sound with vibration, it makes the same sound but a bit lighter when I switch on the ac

This may need physical checks. If your in Lagos I have a mechanic who can take a look

I noticed this too heavy vibrations when the gear is engaged when I am in traffic and foot on the brake, but when placed on neutral it stops.

Check your engine and transmission mounts. Also scan the car Incase you have codes relating to sensors that may cause vibrations

Good morning bosses kindly help me with this issue

After starting My Honda Accord 05 this morning the engine was shaking seriously, called my mechanic is said it's the nozzle, could that be the problem, so I won't waste money, kindly help me, thanks in advance

If you have the check engine light on, kindly scan your car. Anything including the nozzles can make it vibrate excessively but I'd start with a scan .

Hi Nairalanders, I just got an honda accord 08 model, Anytime I shift the gear to D or R it makes this vibration noise but it'll stop if the vehicle is on neutral

They have checked the engine seating and some other things yet the noise still persists.

Please what could be the problem.

I also need a good Mechanic at Willoghby at Oyingbo

Can you describe the vibration noise a bit. Is it that the transmission makes a noise when you switch to drive or reverse or you feel heavy vibrations when the gear is engaged

Honda oil is a blend. It is not fully synthetic

Honda isn't just synthetic blend but also fully synthetic. Fully synthetic is able to withstand high engine temperature better and it doesn't break down easily compared to synthetic blend. In as much as synthetic blend isn't bad fully synthetic is better

Omo, the matter tire me oooo. Thank you.

Meanwhile, how often do you advise the change of transmission oil? Last I changed was in July. The dipstick level still looks fine.

So long as you are using the original dw1 it will last however if the transmission fluid is pink then you are good but brown means it's oxidizing and needs replacement soon

Please i use to use Honda Oil for my Honda City Service but due to the high cost of the oil, Can you please recommend another oil that i can use for it.

Any world renowned fully synthetic brand will do. But in reality most are expensive. Avoid name brands that are unheard of . And please only buy from a reliable source.

Sure, I reset the counter to 100%.

Used Performance Plus Oil.

The degradation happened so fast.

What I do know is that the oil minder is fairly accurate/reliable. It uses sensors to determine if the oil is still in top shape based on trips, temperature, speed and other variables. Short trips and stop and go traffic wears oil faster. I'd suggest you change your oil soon since you have done 2k miles anyway you can push it to 2500 or 3k so long as the oil is fully synthetic but my real advice is to service your car to avoid stories that touch. Engine cost my guy

My oil life percentage got to 0% really fast, and I have only driven like 2000 miles after changing the oil in September.

In fact, it's now at -50.

But the oil level on the dipstick is still much but thw dashboard oil life percentage is already low.

Must i change the oil ASAP?

Your thoughts please Collione luvinhubby, kingreign, heavenlybang, presegs

So when you serviced it initially, did you rest the oil life monitor back to 100 percent because it doesn't do so automatically. And what engine oil are you using.

Hello guru in the house,

I use honda pilot 2006, for a month now i noticed when i brake within speed limit 20-40km/hr after driving on highway at 80-100km/hr, there is this clamping sound i hear from both back leg of my vehicle.

This sound occur simultaneously occasionally or one after the other on both leg. It is now irritating to hear.

I need your advise on what to do. My mechanic has checked the brake and didn’t see anything wrong.

He is suggesting changing all the bushing at the back leg which means he will remove the leg completely to change them.

Im scared of all this mechanic and their way of troubleshooting make i no waste money.

Sorry about your experience unfortunately it's hard to diagnose your vehicle's issue online. If you are in Lagos I have a great mechanic that can resolve your issue without stress

I'm more frustrated than you are trying to convince people. So, once they come with the leg pulling discussion, I dismiss it by referring them to get their Toyota

Lol now I understand your Train of thought. Sometimes it can be annoying but I don't even bother again. Everyone has a right to think like that. Nigerians definition of reliability is drive it till you hear noises everywhere and even if you hear noises drive it some more we forget that all these parts have replacement intervals.

Good afternoon everyone,
Pls I just scanned my Honda Accord 05 and these codes popped up

cp09747
cp0713

Whats the issue related to such codes

Reason Doe scanning was because when I start the car and put gear on D it takes time to engage

Let your mechanic inspect your transmission solenoids and/or switches and also change your transmission fluid . Use only genuine Honda dw1 fluid from a trusted dealer cos na fake full market
