Igemburg:
Good day guys

So I have this experience on my HONDA CIVIC 09
When I startup in the morning, it moves smoothly, when when the temperature rises to the optimal, it drags until I force pedal before it pick normal speed.

Scanned the vehicle but no error code, serviced the pump, nozzles, EGR, changed plug, serviced the gear solenoid still the same. Sometimes it even forces itself when changing gear( you will feel the hard shift and will shake the vehicle). Do you think my gear is bad or what?

Kindly help please.
Check your air filter, check if your maf sensor is dirty and also check if your throttle body is dirty

Good day all, my Honda Accord 2006 is giving me serious headache recently. The car can just choose to start today, and refuse to start tomorrow. These have been going on for 2weeks. The mechanic checked the car and said the fuel pump is ok.
Please, what could be the issue?
Scan the car if the check engine light is on then post the codes. Please let's avoid guess work

P0102 clean or replace your mass air flow sensor. It is located on the air box hose or close to the airbox.

it Nigerian used, we is it expensive or too cheap for the deal
It's not too cheap..go with a good mechanic. Ppl sell their honda v6 cheap because it's a v6. It's naturally undervalued from the start. Test properly, check everywhere including the under for oil leaks and rust. Check the windshield for any signs of replacement, drive and monitor the gear selection. Listen to the engine sound. Don't forget to scan the vehicle

Thank you sir, I am based in Abuja. I experience mild traffic in the morning when going to office ( this can be addressed if I wake up a little earlier). From your experience how what are the sign of missing catalyst, because I believe that particular version of Accord use timing chain.
Accord 4cyl made from 2003 uses timing chain however all honda v6 uses timing belt. Kindly inspect the timing belt also. I too didn't know that it uses belt till I bought it however it's not an issue at all

Please what are the pros and cons of Honda Accord 2011 model v6 engine I planned getting a Nigeria used. But our local mechanic are telling me to avoid v6 engine because of fueling, expensive spare part and low resale value
I personally drive an accord 2007 v6 and it's awesome. The fuel consumption is very ok and the maintenance is ok. In this part of the world honda v6 particularly has low resale value because it's a honda with a v6 engine. That car is very powerful, balanced, fast and doesn't vibrate due to AC load. If you are in Lagos and you wish to use the car everyday to and fro your office then it may not make economic sense because of the traffic here however I'll reiterate the fuel consumption isn't that bad. I use to own a 4 cylinder eod and since I switched to the v6 I really don't notice much difference. Just make sure you get a good unit with complete catalytic converters. Inspect the timing belt. Make sure it's not abused

Good morning everyone. Some few days ago my Honda crv started making this very loud noise from the engine bay. Immediately I start the car, the noise will start very loudly, but once I put it in gear, D, it will instantly reduce like almost disappear, but starts again when I press the throttle. Since the noise started I noticed the engine performance has reduced, the gear change struggle to change from gear 1-2-3-4 and the car doesn’t move as fast

What could be happening? Want to send it to the mech but also have an idea what’s happening so they
won’t play me.

Please help
If the check engine light is on then please scan and share the results

I don't change it twice a year because the maintenance light always comes on every 3000miles and i don't like driving it like that when the maintenance light comes on.
Synthetic oils can go longer . Use miles to measure instead. You can do 5k safely so long as the oil is original. Make sure it's fully synthetic from top brands . Biko don't buy the cheap stuff then run it for too long ooo

Thanks bro. you just saved a soul!

Kindly assist with the followings:

1. Any Idea where can I get the original "Honda ATF DW1" and cost in Lagos.
2. Alternative ATF that is also good that I can buy - car is EOD, 4 cyl.

Apologies for the troubles.
Get the original dw1 from luvinhubby. You can tag him as he is in this group. Also I won't advice anything else but the original

Okay Sir...

Pls what's the difference between Full Synthetic and Synthetic Blend?
Synthetic blend is a mixture of conventional oil with fully synthetic while fully synthetic stands tall. Fully synthetic is best in every way and doesn't cause sludge build up like conventional. Fully synthetic can be driven for longer miles compared to semi synthetic while semi synthetic beats conventional. It all depends on your pocket cos semi synthetic still gets the job done and it's pocket friendly. In reality I have used both and they are awesome though I'd never advice anyone to use conventional oil. Fully synthetic and semi synthetic is the way to go.

Please I just noticed some water sloshing sounds on my accord 2005 when I brake or accelerate. I had my air conditioner on all day because it was raining and the sound was consistent anytime I brake. I checked my trunk and all around the car and inside the carpets and they're all dry. I thought it was from my fuel tank but my tank was over half tank. What could be making this sound?

Any advice or suggestions are welcome. Thank you
Take your time to listen to it so that you can better pin point the source of the sound. Right now we aren't sure if it's at the front or back, left or right.

It's a new car I got recently...Naija-used.
I don't know much
Buy Mobil 2000 5w30 from any Mobil fuel station. Drive it for 2k miles or slightly more. Check for ouk shortages weekly or daily depending on your paranoia also monitor for leaks since it's a used vehicle. If everything is cool then you can get a more expensive fully synthetic or semi synthetic oil. Note Mobil 2000 5w30 is also semi synthetic and very good. Oh , Castrol, Mobil 1, liqui moly, Pennzoil, supertech, shell rotella, royal purple, valvoline. The listed are world renowned so you can't go wrong with any so long as you get it from a reliable source.

Good morning House...
My car Headlights Look dull and I want them to appear almost-brand new.

Should I take it to the mechanic village where I can find those specialized in washing it, OR to an Auto Spray painter workshop?

Which of these can I achieve best results?
There are professional that can make the headlights as clear as possible. If the headlights exterior is brown, any car painter that knows his onions can make it clear however if it's dull but in and out, there are ppl that can make it clear

Hello anyone who can
My Honda accord 07 RPM is on the high side when idling, it goes between 1500-2000. I want to take it to the mechanic this morning, Please what should o yell him to check.
I'd guess the throttle body needs servicing or replacing but then again I always advise that the cars be scanned first. Rpm surge can be caused by a number of things but if it's me I'd service my throttle body first

The car doesn't shift from 2-3 with ease, it delays before shifting to hear 3, and this morning the D light was blinking and after I noticed it, I parked, waited for like 5mins, and restart the car and it stopped, I recently changed the gear oil and I use the Honda recommend oil
Scan your car and post the codes. Avoid driving it till you do

LIQUI MOLY Oil
It's your choice however liqui moly is too high end to be replaced every 3 months. This is what I do. If I buy a fully synthetic fluid that says 10k miles for example, I divide that value by two meaning I'll change my oil at 4000 or 5000 miles although I don't know how often you drive but I personally barely drive and I serviced my car since December 2021 and till now I'm yet to service my car cos IV only done 1600 miles and my oil is original supertech fully synthetic fluid. My advice is if you have a good grade oil like liqui moly , you can safely do 4k or even more miles without having to spend so much. But ultimately it's your choice. Always ensure you get a quality oil filter if you are the type that uses fluids for longer miles

However, as I’m about to service my mechanic noticed a engine oil leakage and claims that the rubber around the place for the engine isn’t there hence why the leakage occurred. Then also my AC compressor is giving a weird sound and he said that’s bearing.

However I’ve scanned the car recently and it was clear.

Who has any idea what this is before I tell him to proceed to fixing.

Thank you
Can you take a picture of the area?

That’s what I thought of too but I now realized that when I went to service it at Honda place they used SN 5W30.

Is it safe or can I still use that or I need to use the 0w20 back
5w30 though it isn't the recommend grade , it's not too far off so you can use it comfortably anytime you can't find 0w20. Basically you can use 5w30, 5w20, 0w30 but most preferably 0w20. In the future if you can't find 0w20, please look for 5w20 next then 0w30 then maximum 5w30 in this order . If you are in Lagos you can call 0703 166 2339 for your semi synthetic or fully synthetic fluid. He also does doorstep delivery

Good morning. Thanks for this information. I will ask my mechanic to check the spider bearing and see if that fixes the issue.

The noise is really giving me concern. Where is the “small boy” located? Do you mind sharing his details? I live around Ikeja environs in Lagos.

Thanks.
Well if all fails then you can try my mechanic at Ejigbo Lagos. He is really good luckily Ikeja isn't distant from ejigbo. You can call him at 08029741950 Aliu

here are the error codes..
1. TP Sensor (A) Voltage Low
2. HO2S (A/F Sensor) S1 AFS Line Voltage High
3. Baro Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem
4. Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Switch (A) Circuit Low Voltage
Please what does this mean?

Mechanic says he needs to change sensor/switch which he says costs 15k and another 10k for workmanship
Now the issue you are experiencing is caused by the rocker arm sensor. Tell your mechanic to service it and ensure that the wires have no issues. If he does it and you test it, it should be rectified however if it continues then you need to replace it. Whenever the Rocker arm sensor fails you won't be able to over rev it will hook at 2k or max 3k rpm . If you force the rpm, the car will jerk as if you have gear problem but trust me your gear is fine.

You also need to meet a good qualified mechanic to find out what's wrong with your other sensors cos your car isn't performing optimally

Thanks for the response, Conner44.

Do you have a check engine light?

No, I don't. I have also comprehensively scanned the engine and the gear, and both came out clear.

Break Caliper and wheel bearings?

They have both been checked repeatedly without any issues.

The mechanic I met here checked and said it had to do with the gear, as I guessed and thats the scary part.
Do not touch the gear box so long as you have no check engine light
