How e take change from Liberian to South African? |
Jakpon: You ibos are thieves. Anambra state has got no oil it belongs to KogiShouting to high heavens that it belongs to Kogi doesn't make it true, even Kogi people know that. |
AlfaSeltzer: Who did I insult?Ijaw people. For no good reason. |
AlfaSeltzer: We don't need any chest beating. The reality is starring you in the face. At this time, 2 pm in the afternoon, most of your relatives are already drunk while mine are getting either education or money. And seeing the way you are talking here, I'm quite sure you are also under some influence of alcohol.I hate this nonsense, you don't need to insult others because of the provocations of an impostor. The guy is at best a Lagosian wo doesn't even know the way to his waterside village and was only told by some people that he is ''Ijaw''. Learn to Ignore. |
Litmus: I don't believe the North would have done anything different. In a sense, the north did have the oil since for the majority of Nigeria's independence they ruled Nigeria. Judging by the comments made by Nigerians generally, the North did not accumulate all the wealth in Northern Nigeria since Nigerians say that the North is more underdeveloped than the rest of Nigeria. Also and i note that this seems controversial Nigeria benefited much from northern agriculture. The only thing i remember adults complaining about when i was young in relation to perceived inequalities during the days of northern heads of state was Northerners having greater access to scholarships and what not.How did Nigeria benefit from northern Agriculture? Too many wrong info flying around on nairaland 1. Before the advent of oil, Nigeria practised regionalism, every region used what it had to develop itself, i.e. The north used its proceeds form agriculture to ''develop'' itself. 2. Every region was involved in agriculture and concentrated on where it had advantages. Example Nigeria was the number one exporter of palm oil then, not a drop of it came from the north, ditto for cocoa. So saying Nigeria benefitted from the north's agriculture is just not true. |
Rawani: FlaTTheaded LIAR. I don't have time for your type, attend to ya makateWhere is the lie? How could you have said this The traces of crude oil in SE states is the same found in Lake Chad Basin and Sokoto state, when we have over 200 functioning oil wells in Igbo land and more than double that amount when you add the ones not being exploited yet? You always console yourself with imaginary minerals when people are talking about reality. Prophet |
aguiyi: you are thinking about planting and harvesting, it goes beyond that.Well, I have been reading about this Agricultural mantra for long on Nairaland and what I have been able to understand from their comments is planting and harvesting alone. Your postition on converting what you don't have in abundance is wrong, most of the agricultural products in Africa are exported to countries that don't have them in abundance where they are processed to finished products. I gave an example of Nestle which isn't even a country but a company, it buys most of the cocoa exported from Ghana and Ivory coast, but is richer than both countries combined. The key is manufacturing not agriculture. |
Hmmm I will just quote an old post of mine. Collynzo16: I watched an Interview of the Liberian president on BBC or CNN can't remember. She said something like people thought Ebola was a Liberian problem and refused to do anything about it until it started spreading to their countries. I think they intentionally brought the disease to Nigeria. |
IGBOSON1: ^^^If we had continued on the same upward trajectory in agric' that the likes of Okpara, Awo and Sardauna were taking their respective regions in the 60s, we would have been somewhere by now! This agriculture stuff is really overrated, there is a reason why they chose to focus on oil. I agree that every country should take agriculture seriously and be at least food sufficient, but the way some of you make it look like agriculture can turn a nation to paradise is what I don't agree with. There are several African countries that practise Agriculture to the level you guys dream of and beyond, but it hasn't really taken them out of poverty. A good exam is comparing Chad or Niger with Northern Nigeria, those countries have the same soil type with northern Nigeria, have a larger land mass than Nigeria as a whole and depend on Agriculture as a nation, but how has it helped them? The money they make from Agriculture isn't even enough to get them irrigation dams and subsidised fertilizer like what is obtainable in Northern Nigeria courtesy of oil money. We should by all means take Agriculture more seriously, but it doesn't mean that oil is a curse. We will be worse off without oil if the only alternative we have is agriculture. Examples are abound world wide. Ghana and Ivory coast sell most of their cocoa to Nestle, but that company is richer than both countries put together, how much more Switzerland where the company is rooted? |
Rawani: These parasitic chestbeaters have started again. What I find amusing is that the North is far, far more blessed with natural minerals than the whole of erosion ravaged SE, yet in their usual ignorance they ignore their utter emptiness to castigate a region that has been clipping their wings and dictating their future since 1967. What does the SE produce apart from kidnapping and drug trafficking? What do they add to the GDP apart from fake drugs? How many barrels of oil did they see in Kano that has made them abandon their barren red soil and constitute a nuisance that almajiri's never fail to despatch to the great beyond?Unlike your imaginary oil in Sokoto and Lake chad, the ones in the east are already being drilled and exported. From Abia to Imo, there are oil wells owned by both local and multinational oil companies, Abia has about 53, Imo has over 160, do you know what one oil well is worth? Don't compare your imaginary minerals in the north with reality. I didn't expect an Almajiri to know that anyway. |
kraftykc: Like? You can pick any poor African country of your choice. Also tell me one country you know that got rich by depending on Agriculture. |
nijanigga: My brother this is not insinuation, the reality is that kidnapping is real not imaginary.Nigerians and foreigners walk freely in the South east, no one is being kidnapped. You can let you ''bad belle'' make you beleive anything you want though. |
Lakayanah: Someone should tell the north that they so blessed with vast amount of fertile land that they should go 100% into agriculture forget about oil and bokoharam see how far they will get. I tell you it will be beyond their wildest imagination.Calm down, most of the countries that depend of Agriculture alone are poor, very poor. |
motherlode: I pray ooo, bcuz dat guy in the pix with rain boots looks like the main farmer. The government and the investors, they also provide employment for locals. |
This is pure wickedness and must be stopped! |
