Obiagelli: maybe you should take up farming too, should i also call you an illiterate for not knowing what farming is about because you are making ignorant statements too. i am not talking backyard farming here, the people also sleep in the bush for months, they affected by far more severe weather conditions. Do you know the distance they go to channel water around mountains and rocky terrains to their farms, talk less of harvesting and transportation2 of the companies that usually carry out exploration contracts for where I work are currently in Maiduguri exploring for oil around the Chad basin. They had to comeback down here to recruit Youths to the Jobs for them because the people over there all ran away after less than a month of hard work. These are guys who are supposed to be better used to the desert terrain and weather conditions running away to be replaced by ND youths who though experienced in the job, have never worked in a desert before. That says it all really. That is why the so called minerals abundant in the north aren't being exploited. As for I agriculture, I have witnessed it first hand in the north and I have also witnessed oil exploration jobs first hand. Farming is like eating bread and tea when compared to the latter. Oil does not flow in Rivers as you guys make it seem, even those found in rivers and seas are found thousands of feet below, people get drowned looking for it despite all the safety procedures. |
Obiagelli: And this job is done by southerners alone? I never knew you now farm oil.Yes they are done by Southerners alone, mostly Niger delta Youths and a few Igbos and most of them are paid peanuts for thier efforts. You made that extremely ignorant statement twice on this thread and I thought I should educate you and others who might be ignorant to this, oil money is not easy at all. Even those working in air-conditioned offices will not say that because they know the suffering that takes place in the fields especially during exploration. Planting and harvesting is complete child's play when compared to it. As for the other guy's statement, the 19 states of the north combined contribute far far less to the national coffers than they receive combined, that is the hard truth and that is what ''parasitism'' is. |
Obiagelli: now address the northerner political class not the region as a whole, like I said earlier, your oil is mere natural resource. Talking human contribution, you still don't measure up to the north, at least Gdp figures are clear enough. You are a complete illiterate o, do you think oil flows in seas and rivers? Do you know the amount of hardwork, sweat, risks and hazards involved in oil exploration activities? Do you know the amount of money and hardwork involved in discovering just a single oil well? Believe me, farming is like eating rice and chicken when compared to oil exploration. Do you know that Niger delta youths trek tens of kilometeres with cables, geophones and sometimes batteries strapped on their bodies in mostly swampy environments just to carry out jobs involved in looking for the oil you fools like to write-off as ''mere natural resource'', ''God given'' etc? Do you know that the are exposed to snakes, leeches and other wild animals while doing it? I have been talking about the exploration part alone, when the oil is finally found, do you know what is involved in drilling it? Have you ever operated any type of vibrating machine before? Be careful so you don't place curses on yourself with your reckless statements, people are trekking in bushes and swamps right now in the name of acquiring seismic data that will be analysed for presence of oil as I type this. |
London is no man's land. Expect brown roofs soon..... |
danot1030: u are saying dat because u are not an igbo man, u can afford to have value for quality when see one but an average igbo don't have value for quality. If an igbo man is to chose between Rochas and TA Orji they will go for the later. You know why? Go to Alaba International, Aba, Nnewi, Onitsha or any igbo business center, u will notice their preference for substandard over standard products. Igbo man that will find original product and take it to china and request that the Chinese should reduce the standard for him. Is the same thing with them in everything. Is the same reason why they will not support their own blood with outstanding quality to rule this country but will be at the fore front to be beating the drum of GEJ till 2019 for the clueless.Pained motherfûcker! Go and check your BP after writing this trash. You are dying slowly... |
Unfortunately Sahara reporters version is true, I know this. Don't ask me how. |
kayciano: THE OP IS AN ASTUTE LIAR.!!!!!!!I thought Rochas was the host? Why did someone speak on his behalf? |
so he even constructs roads? What a pleasant surprise. |
chinasaekperem: Mod, ngwakwe, mynd44, seun, I recommend a front page for this thread, TA orji sycophants need to be seeing this, front page please. You see you guys wanted to swallow me when I said Aba was the dirtiest city in the country, now Arthur Eze has echoed the exact same sentiments using ''Abia'' instead of ''Aba''. Abia State is now the dirtiest in the country. |
I like how people are now openly talking about the decay in Abia and Aba in particular. Things will soon get better. |
NwaNimo1: 13 plots of land in Enugu for $80,000 - sounds too good to be true.Read well $180 000 approximately 30 000 000 Naira, about N 2.3 million per plot. Not that cheap. |
freshness2020: Na big men issues... They will settle it amicably ..Foolish thinking. That academy he wants to build can turn out to be a source of livelihood for a lot of people. |
Rijes: Then if you think so hausa is the most stupid, illitrate, Bleep up, animalistic tribe in the world my friend. How can someone who is not from your tribe convince you to start killing your brothers. I wonder how you can convince ibo man to bomb himself. Check it, i was a supporter of buhari, but the moment he use his mouth and say that he will make nigeria ungovernable and start calling boko haram freedom fighter, i start to suspect him.Guy you dey vex o! See as you screw that guy without CD |
UnknownT: Thank God he is stillplaying football and not his gratuity they want to scam him. Even if, that doesnt warrant this scam. What is happening with Chime's govt these days? The man appears to be a petty dictator, from his wife to his deputy governor and now private individuals. These are just the ones we get to hear of. Then again how about Rochas who refused to sell land to the guy? I am sure if it were his northern brothers based in Imo that approached him for plots of land, he would have given them free of charge. |
anag0900: is this not the paradise on earth some phools have been telling us about on nairaland for eons.Uthman Tunde Salam, no one has ever called Aba paradise here on Nairaland. Unlike you Yorubas who bury your oblong shaped heads in the sand, we say things as we see them. |
tsolz150: The way you think is as worse as the horrible roads in aba. So you feel GEJ is at fault for the poor state of roads?another clueless easternerThe horrible roads are Federal roads. Fool. |
vedaxcool: ^Absolutely yes. You need to give the police some evidence first, they can't just go around arresting people because someone accused them of something. How many times have Buhari been arrested since he was accused of being Boko haram sponsor? |
Why are our governors not putting pressure on Jonathan to do something about the federal roads in the South east? What kind of sycophancy is this? Even the ones that claim to be in the opposition aren't left out of the sycophancy. Very bad. |
They are planning to ''repel'' the attack instead of being pro-active. Why must they always be on the ''defence'' instead of attack? They have taken the tag of ''defending the nation'' way too literally. |
vedaxcool: Shocking indeed, in saner countries the govt. Would have arrested the accused and commenced intensive investigation, but unfortunately the feds is led by an incompetent ex patron of militants. The fed govt in any country does fear nor retreat from its obligations of protecting its citizens and investigation criminals actions, but in Nigeria the reverse is the case. NA is probably playing porsum hoping all this will go away!Is saner countries people are not arrested simply because someone opened his mouth to accuse them of something, there has to be some evidence however little, before the accused are brought in for questioning. |
Reading the parts in bold, I just wonder whether South East leaders are averse to development. It is very easy to castigate Igbos who invest away from home without hearing their own side of the story. Everything should be done to encourage those who choose to invest in the South East rather than frustrating them. |
Nigeria World Cup star Emmanuel Emenike is up in arms with the Enugu State Government over 13 plots of land worth 30 million Naira (about $ 180,000), which he bought to build a sports academy in Enugu.http://africanfootball.com//news/453427/EXCLUSIVE-Emenike-in-30m-Naira-land-dispute |
barcanista: honestly its a big shame. A disgrace to humanity that a MOTHER will participate in the selling of her baby that she carried for 9months(±). Some people value money so much that they go any length just to get it including Stealing, Baby factory, drug traficking, rituality, fraud and deception among other vices. This is a serious issue that need to be condemned and there should be reorientation especially in the SE on the values of life. You are quoting a northerner and talking about reorientating the South East people on the values of life? What an Irony. No set of people value human life more than Igbos in this country. If you want to be tribalistic, come out openly and be so. Absolute nonsense. |
The fact that APC plebs flooded social media with fake results doesn't make you winners. That pattern don reign pass. Ntorrrr! |
Ikengawo: You're an idiot, there's no such a direction as south south. You'll look like a follow saying that to anyone outside of this country. That aside, Rivers state is still not in the South east geographically. AkwaIbom and Crossriver maybe, but not Rivers. |
The increase in Boko haram activities and the accompanying media wave since the Chibok girls were kidnapped have distracted the APC from carrying out their usual vandalization of Gas pipelines. I pray they aren't allowed any where near those pipelines again. |
SLIDEwaxie: For a country like ours, so useless as to print our notes outside the country and even pay again to import it, then printing the fake is not a big deal...So typical! I am even surprised you did not mention Jonathan's name. The sell the US dollar and many other currencies on that site. |
ayo2dey: That's why business partners don't trust our exchange rate and currency. E dey pain me oooo. This is more than an allegation. #TakeNoteChinaEmbassyStop crying over nothing. Is Naira the only currency they sell on that site? They sell virtually every currency in the world. Why are you now making it look like a strictly Nigerian problem? Bloody alarmist! |
APC sponsored article. Even the devil himself knows that electricity supply has improved tremendously. |
If not for Ebonyi (placed 11th), all 5 South Eastern states would have been in the top 10. Igbo kwenu! |
atlwireles: Nigerians will always complain. No matter what. We have both a cremation center and the only general hospital in the area currently designated as a center for Ebola treatment and Isolation unitIt is worthless to them in the grand scheme of things. Afterall those centers are likely to be destroyed after the ebola outbreak. It is like citing a refuse dump. |
