BusinessN50k Per Day For Tourism In Nigeria? by Comeandcollect(op): 9:42am On Jan 05, 2021
Good morning all,
I would like to hear from you all concerning living on N50k per day in Nigeria, the N50k includes hotel fee, feeding, going a few places like the beach in Lagos.

The first stop will be in Lagos, is it best to book a hotel on the island or mainland?
I like to eat out so which part of Lagos has a variety of restaurants, bars and clubs?

This is why
1. Their catch phrase is dominance, they go to any country to dominate and rule. They rent a property from you as a single man but go back to the property in six months time, you will see four of their generations there i.e grand father, father, wife and children.
2. They have a young population that are IT enthusiasts.
3. They are open to relocating to any country even if you offer them peanuts as salary so long as it's better than Indian minimum wage, they know they are going there to build generational wealth not live on salary.
4. They learn tricks of your country coupled with their tricks which makes them look like genius.
5. Their honesty is 5 out of 10.

Maybe time to start investing in the real sector, Agriculture is good. You don't have to do it yourself, you can employ and train people. If you have Palm trees in your village, maybe it is time to go and find people that will convert the fruits to oil, if you have empty lands in your village maybe it is time to go plant some cash crops there.

These things could yield consistent profits with little investment. Some of us are limited by human resources but if you are not lucky u.

DUNKA:
Good day all with the crashed rates affecting MMFs, TBs and Fixed deposits which genuine investment product can one now put his money in that have a reasonable rate of return? Any recommendations/pointers would be highly appreciated.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Comeandcollect: 11:17am On Nov 23, 2020
I see, looks like profits need to be in forex for an investment in forex due to instability in the country.
Unfortunately nothing can earn a decent forex in Nigeria at this time even the Eurobond is tricky now, funds withdrawal in Eurobonds can take up to six months now and upon maturity the govt. may default as seen recently with a nearby African country defaulting in it's Eurobond interest payment.

My best bet is to find a profitability business of N40 to N50 million investment with stability in the currency to invest.

emmanuelewumi:
Why should the repayment come from Nigeria? Unless if you earn forex in Nigeria or the investment will earn forex in Nigeria.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Comeandcollect: 9:13am On Nov 21, 2020
Yes half of my monthly income come from forex but if i take such, i expect 100 percent of the repayments to come from Nigeria, with the current exchange rates in Nigeria since the last few days, it may be difficult to source forex to repay monthly, i believe the major thing is to find a business or investment like real estate in Nigeria that can guarantee 10 percent return minimum before signing the agreement, what are your thoughts?
emmanuelewumi:
Are you making your income in forex? If yes you can go for it

Study and observe the banks, a lot of them hurriedly liquidated their forex debts some few months ago. Not quite long Naira after this, Naira was devalued
Sure it would've been great those days, I am looking for investment that will generate 10 percent income to take up the offer. This issue of devaluation and unstable exchange rate makes it looks impossible to go for. I will go for field study on this before taking it up.
awesomeJ:
It would have been good in the days of 182 day bills at 17%.
You'd just be buying t-bills and collecting interest to service the loan every 6 months.

But as with most business loans, you have to be sure of a venture that returns at least twice your finance cost ( that'll be interest + exchange rate differential in your own case)
for it to be worth your while.

4% is a good rate.

If you were in the US, it may be better to buy some healthy index Funds that you' LL cash in on buy Q1' 21. Because there's hope for more stimulus money that may push the market some 10,15%.

Opinion
An International Bank wants to borrow me N27. 5 million to repay over a period of 4 years (48 months) at 4 percent interest rate (N1.1 million interest only), I would like to know if this is a good offer considering the fact that they are giving me foreign currency and I will keep up repayments in foreign currency. Is this a good loan considering i would like to invest the money in Nigeria.

I do not have or know of any business that can generate sufficient income to service the loan so any business ideas is welcome too.

Thanks

Where do you buy at $9k and how do you sell at $17k?
The last time I checked when bitcoin crashed it was selling at N450 per 0.00001 unit or so, that means if you buy One million units, you will pay N4,500,000 for one whole bitcoin, now bitcoin is selling at N470 if you sell to trusted Nigerians here, where/who do you then sell to make $17,000 for one whole bitcoin?

jedisco:
Hehe.... No need to worry yourself. You got in at a good time. There's always another buying opportunity. I'd advise you keep your cash in hand and look towards locking in profits. A significant buy opportunity should come within the next 1-5 weeks, you want to be ready for that.

I believe the real party starts next year.... But we're at a zone where smart money or people who bought largely at 4k and 9k will be dumping their bags on new entrants who believe it's going to the moon. It's very unlikely to cross 19-20k without significant blood first... When every analyst starts telling you it's going to 20k, you can be certain it'd likely do the opposite.

You don't want to give your profits back to the market. Nothing feels better than selling your bags after a good profit and buying lower. It's impossible to time the top so it's always worth taking profits after a significant run up except you're in it for the very long term. But even at that, you also want to compound your profits.

Good morning everyone, I would like to ask if buying these properties located at Ikota Lekki is a good investment, I was told the annual rent on a 4 bedroom duplex in this location is between N3 to N3.5 million a year. My questions are;
1. Is the rental income in these areas up to that amount?
2. Are the payments of rents sustainable of the tenants for anyone who may know or own a property in this area?
3. What are the risks buying a property in this location.

Thanks

Just because I'm losing
Doesn't mean I'm lost!
Doesn't mean I'll stop
Doesn't mean I will cross
Just because I'm hurting
Doesn't mean I'm hurt
Doesn't mean
I don't get what I deserved
No better and no worse
I just got lost
Every river
That I tried to cross
Every door
I ever tried was locked
Oh and I'm just waiting
'til the shine wears off
You might be a big fish
In a little pond
Doesn't mean you've won
'Cause along may come
A bigger one
And you'll be lost
Every river
That you tried to cross
Every gun
You ever held went off
Oh and I'm just waiting
Until the firing stopped
Oh and I'm just waiting
'til the shine wears off
Aha, I gotcha, uh,
With the same sword
They knight you,
They gon' good night you with
Shit,
That's only half
If they like you
That ain't even the half
What they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
See Biggie, see Pac,
See success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas
See Caesar, see Brutus,
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed,
Prepare to be crucified
Media meddles,
Niggas sue you, you settle
Every step you take,
They remind you
You're ghetto
So it's tough
Being Bobby Brown
To be Bobby then,
You have to be Bobby now
And the question is,
'Is to have had and lost
Better
Than not having at all?'
Because I'm
Oh and I, just waiting
'til the shine wears off
Oh and I, just waiting
'til the shine wears off

Ok for $300k bought at N360/$ and selling now at N460/$ , you are up by N30 million gained from depeciation so i think it's a right hedging.
But then is it wise to sell now to make up for the current devalued Naira investment.

I realised investing in Nigeria is biting hard to a lot of investors so i decided I will publish a book Nov 23rd that teaches how to invest in a declining economy. It is an essential read and covers liquid investments.

Obviously its a bit late now, if you have the mind buy in Black market now at N445/ $ or look for Nigerians in diaspora looking to send money home, most sell dollar at N420/ $, it will always be better than Naija black market, within a short period Naira Dollar will hit N500.

All those people on this thread saying sell your dollar so they can deceive you have succeded in benefiting from the last panic sale, most bought at N430 but now its shooting back up and will continue.

Phraences:
Please when is the right time o! When it was $380 - $400, people said it was not the right time, that CBN is making moves. That they will soon start selling dollars and the naira will rise. Later on they restricted forex for food and fertilizer. I don't know if that has helped. Exchange rate is still hovering around 445. Some people said when Dangote refinery is completed, the demand for dollar will reduce and naira will appreciate. That change is coming soon we should wait. But this country just seems to want to defy all economic indices. Who knows what the exchange rate will be like in 10years. I wish i had listened to the people preaching dollar savings when dollar was $360 and lesser.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Comeandcollect: 5:01pm On Sep 20, 2020
But you mentioned sometime ago you were able to beat the devaluation and buy $300k usd at N360/$. What really happened ?

XiaoLi:
I am just managing 5% in commercial paper and low rates in other investments while waiting for dollars to drop so that i can convert all my naira to dollars, I will never keep more than 10M in naira again once dollar drops and this is the last time i will be caught in naira devaluation, tbills, mmf, cp e.t.c in Nigeria doesn't worth it..once there is a devaluation you will lose all the gains and even some of your capital.

It is a bank that was being promoted by Cubana Chiestfpriest around May 2020 and they use to offer 20k when you open account with them. They are a microfinance bank and the fixed deposit rates arre ;
30-60 days - 8.5 %
61 - 90 days - 9.0 %
Up to 180 days - 11 %
Up to 365 days - 14 %
They said they are backed by NDIC. I'm not sure how much cover that gives an investor if they default in paying customers, i think the discussion here a few days ago mentioned N500k, someone should correct or confirm this.

ES330 has more affordable parts between the two. ES350 parts are even costlier than those of RX330.
It’s also has a better fuel consumption.

You can’t compare the parts or fuel consumption to the typical Corolla/Camry. It’s luxury, it consumes more fuel and the parts are more expensive.

Resumption of FOREX sale has commenced today and the rate of Naira v Dollar is expected to crash further, just in case anyone see or know any seller of N400/ $ , i have a request to purchase $ 200,000 and you will get 1 percent commission on the transaction i.e. $2,000.

On the otherhand the hike in electricity, increase in taxes and removal of fuel subsidy is part of the conditions of the $3.4 billion loan given to Nigerian by the IMF to be re-paid before the end of 2021, there are other loans that was declined and some are yet to be approved on the condition that Nigeria will further devalue the value of Naira, Naira may well shoot up again before the festive period.

3. Shallow knowledge about the recent events of 2020 and the future.

It is better to do what the economy directs, since Nigeria has been devaluing currency, has there been any point devaluation was reversed ?

Nigerian govt don't print dollars and not generating enough but they can print billions of Naira to keep chasing more forex.

Ncdc website is currently buying dollar at N471 from anyone travelling or coming into Nigeria.

Naira will hit hit N600/$ before the end of 2021.

For those who have ears, you really should listen to awesomej and sell your dollars if you still have some right now at this late hour. The price is gonna balance with the official rate soon.

I don’t need anyone to believe me or counter me. Na just advice I dey give. I already made my own buck. Converted all my naira savings/investments to USD at 370 back in March when I felt the pressure coming. I converted all of them back to naira at 470 immediately they announced opening of the international airport (As I knew BDC would have to open to retailers). I have successfully dodged the bullet of devaluation and inflation and even gained a lot. If you are still holding dollars, OYO is your case o, unless you’re willing to wait another 4 to 5 years, when something drastic would happen and there’d be pressure again on the currency.

Okay, bye for now.

The CBN governor is probably the best governor Nigeria has had since the existence of the CBN.
He is not the problem but the Nigerian system is faulty, how can the government keep borrowing money at the expense of the CBN and the FG has no tangible model to generate forex from all the borrowings.

The CBN and FGN are two different entities and it will be best they both have a unified govenor, CBN and FGN is like a hardworking man earning N1m a month and keeping a girlfriend that spends N5 million every month, it is destined for failure.

Who is really hitting profits, as we all know na mallams. Nigeria has too much Naira in the system, the only way we can have dollar is by earning it.

From now till the next 6 months we can't earn enough neither can we print dollar even when covid goes, it will persist,

It's most likely CBN will sell small quantity, currently even the BDC is now hoarding, they are now buying at N420 and selling N440 not selling N430 thereby they are holding dollar at N440 and it is likely to start going up from here.

TransAtlanticEx:
I see something happening on the 7th of september,2 outcomes;
1)CBN will sell dollars but in small quantity, that will either not go round amongst all BDCs or will go round but in very minute quantity(this still breeds scarcity).
This will have so little impact on the price market for fx,especially with increased demand due to resumption of international travel and have rates shoot back up again to the mid 400s.
Or
2)CBN will be bold enough to release much funds and risk destroying its $35B which will totally collapse its naira las las in the long run which I know they can't risk...
OPEC is beginning to ease oil cuts which might bring down oil price again or stagnate it,which means less inflow for the CBN and we also know remittances and FDIs or FPIs are out of the picture this season.
Cheap dollar people, don't be optimistic yet,e get why grin
