Guys be careful buying at this time, there is a possibility companies will start taking huge profits off crypto once it hits $50k that means they will dump and flood the market with crypto.

If you can take your profits BEFORE or at $49k800 and run.

If it's due to Blockchain traffic, it's right to say bitco.in will be replaced by the next big crypto, transactions can't be queued up for minutes like this if bitco.in gets accepted as a form of payment by major businesses.

Bitcoin on FIRE, it just his $44,500.

Could it hit $50k before midnight?

I've been thinking, who maintains the b.i.tco.in technology, You can't have a technology function for years without an upgrade and support, obviously the people earning the transaction fees are the ones behind it's ownership.

Bi.t.coi.n could be the GREATEST SCAM of all time.

Majority of individuals who trade BT.C or Et.h can stake $500 to $1000 globally per day, this is only a fraction of the profit you will get when the crypto goes up. The major beneficiaries of these coins are companies like MicroStrategy, exchange sites like Luno, Coindesk, Binance, High networth individuals.
They can trigger the market anytime at the mercy of average individuals.

To me, to play in the game there is need to take whole profit unfortunately the coins are unreachable to buy in whole even if you can afford it, bit.c.oin started selling at $1, to pay $36k for it for someone worth $36k is ridiculous.

AbdulJabbar1:

You have been misinformed! No one needs to buy a whole qoin, if na 50 dollar ur money reach, you can equally profit off any rise whatsoever, if it gains 10% you gain 10% of whatever your worth in it is... Even if it becOmes 100k per qoin people that will buy will buy...

Betece is not a stock or private equity and never will be. It’s available to whoever wants to buy, and at any amount you want to buy, no restrictions, beyond KYC.

I invested a portion and at the time 2015, eurobond was hovering around 7 percent while most Nigerian securities offered up to 16 percent.

The lesson is for everyone who spends Naira, the doors to own USD has always been open to everyone N216/$ in 2015 and N360/$ in 2019, a lot of people saw devaluations coming but only a few hedged.

Any Naira you own now has lost more than 50 percent of it's value from 2015 up till date so long as you earn/own Naira even if it's N500. When we saw bags of million naira rushing in we thought is was worth it, it's worthless. If Naira can be halved in 5 years I'm sure you get my point.

emmanuelewumi:

Since you earn dollars, why did you convert all your funds to Naira? Why didn't you buy Eurobonds or GDR of some Nigerian companies? Why didn't you Invest in real estate.

Good investors don't lament, pick the necessary Investment lessons and move on.

******The downside Investing in the Nigerian economy *****

In 2015 I converted $50,000 @ N216 and invested in a mix of securities at average of 12 percent for 3 years i.e
0.12 X N10,800,000 = N1,296,000 x 3 years i.e N3,888,000.

Capital plus interest after 3 years N14,688,000.

Since 2019 rates hasn't been good and I opt for other fixed security at N10 percent per annum for 2 years.

Capital of 0.10 X N14,688,000 = N2,937,600.
Capital plus interest = N17,625,000/ N480 per dollar today = $36,720.

In hind sight I actually lost $14,000..

The truth is that Bt.c will become a VINTAGE coin owned by companies n industries in a few months from now, how many Americans will buy a coin valued at $33k? When their disposable monthly income is $2k? Then think abt other less developed countries with much less disposable income.

Bt.c has so many lags e.g it takes time to process transactions, high fees. Competition is here and only a matter of time before it becomes the Rolls Royce Phantom of crypto (good to drive but expensive to own).

Sailor1:

Hehe... I disagree with this in a way... Betece will likely remain the king for a while...
Alot of things make it unique... More so, it's where new money goes into....
Making a coyn is not difficult... Getting the market behind it is all that matters.

On a second thought, your comment makes me think betece is about taking the stage again. You wouldn't have said this a month ago. I remember telling someone that once people begin to talk down on betece and hype altys and also after microcaps have ran, betece traditionally takes the stage abd either pumps or dumps reminding everyone its kind....

We're in an alty season (part of a cycle), but lets not be carried away... This market flows in cycle

Good, could you work out how much interest I can have on the ZPlan with N2.5 million investment for a six months duration. The guaranteed interest on the capital?

Also, is capital guaranteed?

Dsticks47:

Why not go for Zplan on our Ziing mobile app.

The ROI on Zplan is between 4-10% depending on the duration and lock status.

We also have VGIF which presently guarantees 4.5%.

The above portfolio is powered by IOFS and regulated by SEC.

Your bag must be feeling heavy by now, I wouldn't advice investing so much in any crypto that is not among the top 10 unless the amount being invested will not make you lose sleep in the next 6 months.

So many cryptos are emerging, Bt.c is near maturity n there are better emerging crypto being developed, by the end of 2021, there will be at least 50 crypto in direct competition with Bt.c, all of them will grow and attain maturity over time.

Remember when computer was first developed, Abacus was the Bitcoin but now we use smartphones.

Guys who knows any fixed income I can invest N2.5 million into now, I am expecting interest rate between 5 to 8 percent.

Crypto currency is calling but I do not have the time for it, I need fixed income where I put my money and be notified when it matures with bank alert.

I just opened binance, they allow deposit of up to £50k, with that you are guaranteed to buy 1.2 BTC or more. My only concern is safety and their customer service, their feedback rating on trustpilot is 2.2/5.
They suffered a major hack in 2019 where 7000 BTC was lost but I don't know if they repaid customers.

Let me know your thoughts

How can one buy beetcc in huge sum at once? Some of the sellers on localbiitcccoin which has been my major trading site only sell in small unit.

Do you know the purchase cap for binance at once?, and it seems they only accept card transaction. I'm looking at how I can upload funds on an account then purchase bbttcc when I deem it right, like I won't buy the coins outrightly, which of these big tech practice such?

Alright, I just created my blockchain wallet, i tried to buy Bitcoin directly from the wallet, the price displayed on the first page says $39,500 but when i tried to choose a means of payment it says the bitcoin value at the point of sale is now $40,600. I went back to the previous page and re-confirmed the initial price of 39k was unchanged but at the point of sale the price goes up to 40k+, is this normal when buying directly from blockchain and is it advicable to buy directly from blockchain?

jedisco:

Just like @einsteine said above, I will add 2 things...

1. Just like most international traded commodities/securities suvh as gold, silver, oil e.t.c most folks who trade it follow it's value in dollars for uniformity. It's value in naira or any local currency would be a based on the dollar value of the assest and how that currency converts to the dolar at any given time.
For example, if one unit is 42000 dollars, it's value in naira is = 42000x 470 (exchange rate). We know that the exchange rate of the naira is all over the place so following the value in naira also has that extra volatility.

Now, to what I believe is confusing you. One b1tco1n can be divided into much smaller units. So if the value of one is 20million naira, and you buy a sum of 1 million, what youre buying is 0.05 b1tco1n.

2. I wouldn't absolutely stay off buying anything from nairaland. There are regulated and safe exchanges which are readily available. What you may be sold here may just be nothing
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Comeandcollect: 9:22am On Jan 10, 2021
since i've seen bitcoin being sold on Nairaland, it has been selling between N460/N500 even when I bitcoin was sold FOR $7,000 and now it's been sold for $41,000 it still sell around N500 per dollar, does this mean if you buy one whole bitcoin on Nairaland you get to pay N5,000,000 ? Meanwhile Abokifx is quoting bitcoin at N19,500,000.

Anyone who fully understands the dynamics of bitcoin can throw more light on this.

jedisco:

Hehe... I wouldn't talk in absolutes even though it's likely a parabola is approaching... This market moves quickly. A drop below 1000 is just 15-20% below... That can easily be achieved in 15 mins. It's a volatile market. It just broke out of the 600-700 resistance cluster. A retest of that zone as support would still be bullish except if it fails. It's not every week a major moves 60-70%

Barely 2 weeks ago, 1000 for it would have seemed like a tall ask and most thought a1ts were dead. I remember telling someone here that the market flows in circles and a1ts would have their time. When the general sentiment is strongly in one direction, that's usually when the market turns whether at tops or bottoms.

It's a bull market and so dips will be bought up quickly until a blow-off top. This market usually repeats history quite well and we can learn alot by looking back. In past bull runs, there are usually steep retracements and even steeper buy ups. So far, we've not seen any significant one.

A pullback should come, most folks would get scared and panic sell thinking that was the top, then it'd start rising and they'd buy back higher than they sold. It may repeat that until folks become so lax such that when the
real blow-offf top happens, most will still be confident it'd retrace and they'd keep holding until they loose all their profits... Ask the class of 2017 how that felt.
