Delejumi: The dumbest people here are the people who blame Trump for Covid without blaming other country's Presidents. The dumbest people are the guys who blame Trump for shutting down air travel between China and US early on and blaming him whereas Pelosi afterwards went to China and they now turn back that he did not handle it well. The dumbest people are the guys who don't know what's going on but swallow what they told them without being objective. Australia vs USA.

Do you know that people or souls, perish on Kogi highways daily as a result of its centrality in the movement of people and goods. The man is just shading crocodile tears. The equipment haven't saved anyone. They aren't even necessary. |

I also know some protesters in their 50s who were also on the streets . That mentality is a Nigerian thingy. Even in universities, you'll see young lecturers who haven't even starting growing pubic hair refering to students as kids, children etc. I still insist that term children is appropriate. They are neither his age mates nor peers. |

Those palliatives were meant for the second lockdown. The theft of those hidden palliatives is causing them sleepless nights.
They are waiting for Biden to win U.S elections. E go shock them when we do #EndSars again. Will you people shut up with this Bill Gates vaccine nonsense? And to set the record straight I have never received a Kobo not to talk of 30k from anybody to speak the truth, I say it as it is, that's my Foreign Account ATM and Residency permit I showed .
I asked ENDSARS to not block roads and cripple economy
I asked for truth and not fake news
I spoke against burning public infrastructure
I asked for a negotiation led by Intellectuals like Falz the bad guy
i don't use the burnt BRT

timbabng: Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gunpowder (Tribal tensions, Poverty, Unemployment, Terrorism, Banditry), any spark will be a disaster. Censoring social media is like taking away a matchbox, when we have other things like lighters, stoves around us. They should focus on gradually evacuating the gun powder.
The average igbo man does not trust an Hausa man and vice versa, the Yoruba man does not trust both tribes. But miraculously, our politicians are getting along.
Those countries with extreme social media regulation, like China, North Korea don't have the problems we have.
Nigeria needs to focus on the problems now. So it is needless to curtail what is the easiest path to destruction. Ok. |

wristbangle: If more military/paramilitary men are to be recruited, it should be sensible one and their salary must be review upward so that the existing sane and new forcemen won't be involved in corruption.
About a new protest, I see that happening. From the news gathered after the protest, the politicians corruption has geared to another level. How can it cost N1 trillion naira to fix damages in Lagos? Or cost N2.9billion to print question papers? Etc.
We have been belittled and fooled for too long. Their gimmicks have expired. This time around, the protest should focus on reforms, restructuring, ending bad governance, revamp of economy, etc.
I will gladly join if this will be the next tag of the protest. How much do you think those buses that got burnt are? What of the parks, police stations, and their equipment lost- from vehicles to guns to radios? What about private buildings that got torched? You don't think the owners require compensation? |

timbabng: Where did I mention the leaders misusing it?
Nobody wants to see Nigeria burn, at least I don't.
What you don't realise is that censoring social media will not prevent the country from burning. The root cause of the problem, which they are failing to address is what's going to burn the country.
"Many of you"...........herein lies the problem of Nigeria. How can you say censoring social media would not prevent the country from burning? Countries without the problems we face still ensure social media is indeed censored, so what are you scared of? There is nothing like root cause other than the predilection for illegality and anarchy by a large swathe of the Nigerian populace. Even the opposition to censorship underlines this. |

timbabng: We have to carefully look at things before jumping into conclusions. Nigeria has had it's fair share of riots and protests, but this last one speaks volumes. I saw videos of people removing hand railings from buildings, removing roofing sheets, removing metal rods from windows, stripping car parts and taking them away to sell! There is only one explanation for their actions; "HUNGER" and "HOPELESSNESS".
The ruling class is more concerned about regulating social media, which translates to taking away freedom of speech because it affects them. But they never ever talk about the root cause of the problem.
Because majority of us are not in the lower class, we think the actions of the looters are crazy, but when a grown man takes his kid to steal used mattress and a pregnant woman is kicking down the door to a food store, then there's more to it.
If things don't change for good soon, the middle and upper class citizens of Nigeria will be at the mercy of the lower class when anarchy starts. You have no idea what you are talking about. You are more concerned about the hypothetical case of leaders misusing it than the reality of seeing your immediate community burn. Many of you would not be finding transportation easy for the next 2 years at the very least. Many of you would experience a high wave of crime never before witnessed due to the inability of the police to function even at the previous lowly levels due to the vandalism that followed the broadcast of fake news. |
