Sweeetheart: agreed! because we have many educated idiots who believes a man who had no past excellent record will do wonders in this 21 century
it's a shame that many illiterates occupied Nigeria lately So you haven't registered for the adult lessons yet? You even need to be quarantined. This is not a case of trying to educate you. They should simply tie you down. |

Acidosis: Is it Jumia that is delaying the delivery of the goods you ordered online or your brothers and sisters (Jumia staff)?
Who employed the bribe collecting staff? Who failed to block all bottlenecks and provide enough measures to address corruption? There would always be corruption in a country in which people are not creative and GDP per capita is less than 2000 dollars. No Angel would come from the sky to change that. Let's see if in your lifetime corruption would be reduced to a minimum. |

Angelfrost: Bro, the international community is on red alert... They have been for over a month now... Before you go all overtly defensive, try and confirm if there's even provision for quarantine in the first place.
Well, at this point internet banter won't suffice... The reality has finally hit home. Our nation is once again all over the international news!!! How many states of the federation currently have containment plans and facilities in place as we speak??!...
In all, I sincerely hope we truly contain this in the shortest possible time. Just one more case, and the panic skyrockets. Which countries? I flew out of UK to SA, what was in place in these countries? Absolutely nothing. No screening device used in Heathrow for departures, that I know. In SA, they had the same thermal device which only checks for raised temperature and nothing more. This agitation to condemn Nigeria invariably condemns the citizens too. |

Cant you see how wonderful the country has become because they are honest? Local man. Why can't you travel yourself to discover how the rest of the world is conducting it? Oh, I forgot. backnbeta: My point exactly! In saner climes, new arrivals will first be quarantined for 14 days at the Port of entry, then transferred to their houses for further 14 days of self isolation! All the passengers on board the patient's plane is vulnerable to the virus. Some have proceeded to the East, some to the North and other places! Who will follow them up? Which saner clime would quarantine every traveller from Europe, Asia and America? |

urchcoded: All dis ranting about us being unpatriotic and ignorant, una Dy mad oh. How hard can it be to quarantine anyone coming from a country with a known case of the virus for 14days B4 letting d person roam free. The quarantine should be B4 he leaves the airport since the incubation period is up to 14 days and to be more strict, everyone on the same flight as that person should undergo same measures the best Nigeria could av done is preventing the virus from entering this we country I'm not sure we can do much containing it. Kai if not Dem Chinese for Don contain am by now So you would quarantine just about every traveller out of Europe, Asia and America.? |
Health › Re: Coronavirus: Pictures Of Screening Equipment For Travellers At Lagos Airport by Commentor: 7:44am On Feb 28, 2020 |
Angelfrost: I laud the efforts of the health authorities... But, this was careless!!!
A man coming in from a high risk nation (over 600 confirmed cases) should have been quarantined for at least a week... Had that been done, we would not be having these exchanges.
Now, we are playing catch up, with an uncertain spread ratio, not to mention uncertain containment plans within a populous Lagos state. When did Italy detect its first case? Wasnt it just this week? Are you suggesting this Italian who could have decided to fly out of Switzerland or a neighbouring country should have been quarantined because he came in from italy? What of the hundreds of other travellers who have made the most random of journeys? |
Health › Re: Coronavirus: Pictures Of Screening Equipment For Travellers At Lagos Airport by Commentor: 7:40am On Feb 28, 2020 |
Auxtin85: Bro i don't know oo, am really scared and confused Nigeria isn't doing anything different from the rest of the world on detection. If we want to be drastic then we ban all international arrivals because country of departure means little. If you think about it, the easiest place to pick it up in an aircraft with hundreds of people from random places who have in turn visited even more random places and people. |

Gnaeusmagnus: Sorry, Gamal, and Nick, but you guys are getting it wrong here.
1.The type of screening the South Africans are doing is the same type of screening the Nigerians are doing...which is checking for temperature, the difference being that the SA people are doing it in the plane. Nigeria does it when you come in.
2.Either way, both methods won't stop the virus. The only way to see if someone is infected is by doing a blood test(Because asymptomatic patients would pass the screening test). Already, facilites are on ground to test for the virus.(for once the Ministry of Health was prepared in that regard).
3.For now, the best that can be done is to isolate every contact, and isolate every contact of every contact.....which is not going to be easy.
4.Don't panic. Whilst travelling into SA, there was no screening in-flight. |

Missmossy: The Italian should have been prevented from coming into the country since his country is among the affected places same way standard countries placed embargo on flights coming in from affected countries.
Prevention is better than cure. Same way Tom Sawyer came in with Ebola and in the long run we lost some lives. This could have been avoided But Italy only declared its first cases this week. Should all travel be banned now? |

GamalNasser: Keep quiet there !!! He came in on the 25 with symptoms , went to the hospital on 26th and his test result came out positive on the 27th so stop saying gibberish ... Today a senator said he wasn't satisfied with the approach of the Buhari govt at the international airport in screen for Covid 19 and he prefered the south African method which didn't allow people leave the aircraft till they were screened as against Inept Buhari method of handing incoming passengers palmphlets with phone numbers to call if they suspect they are sick with any flu like symptoms.
We pray Buharis incompetence doesn't make this worse as nobody trust in his ability to handle such an outbreak Shut up. What South African Method? I'm in South Africa and I arrived a week ago with the same screening as shown in the picture. So what further screening? Local champion and the 35 nitwits that liked your post. |
