Very impressive info.. especially on the current FDI of $4bn, the Foreign Reserves and Crude oil production..

However the FG need to do more to translate these huge achievements to support more Nigerians to feel the positive effects.

To be honest electricity in my area (Lagos) has improved significantly over two months now.. just like two years ago.. I rarely on my gen again… also sometimes turn off the freezer just to reduce the excessive freezing.

I disagree with Bruce. The governors are the biggest thieves and won't implement jack. This is my own proposal:
1. Determine how many barrels of oil we consume locally.

2. Sell them to dangote refinery at 50% discount on the international oil price.

3. Dangote sells/distributes the refined products from those barrels sold to him for local consumption back to us at 50% of their prices on the international market

4. Police the borders and kill smuggling. (Don't tell me our borders cannot be secured)

Why this model will work.

1. The government won't need to pay physical cash to any nonsense importer or to dangote for that matter.

2. Petrol prices will be 50% cheaper.

3. The benefits will go round everybody.
4. Inflation and prices will drop like magic.

If Dangote Refinery or any other Refinery is selling at say 1,000, he can subsidze directly from there so they sell at 500.

He can also choose to sell crude cheaper to Dangote Refinery or any other Nigerian owned Refinery at a cheaper rate than that of International cost price at an agreement that they sell cheaper to Nigeria.
How will that affect the refineries negatively for God's sake

As a matter of fact, I expected the present FG to do this same thing, subsidize directly from the Refinery.
By now we should know the average amount of litres we consume daily or weekly, this should guide them.
Furthermore, trackers can be installed on all petrol tankers lifting from Dangote Refinery to monitor movement and delivery to various petrol stations etc.
Even the Alhaji Dangote himself talked about this tracking.
Strengthen operations of Nigeria Customs to mitigate smuggling etc.
What are they FG if they can't do all these!

That cannot be achieved overnight given that the deep rot and decay accumulated over decades of misrule.
