Please is it even possible to book appointmentfrom another country?if possible I wouldn't mind working with any willing person on this plan.
I don't think this will fly unless u maintain a residency/citizen of that country.

it would have worked if we don't have german embassy in Nigeria but you have two german embassies already.

TIPS to get a date:

write your school for a deferred enrolment deadline. The embassy looks at ur enrolment deadline most times to ascertain if you can make it or not

@computaholicGoc - I can't help but say I appreciate your efforts towards assisting others. Thank you for that..

Please what can you say about Chemnitz university of Technology for STEM programs?

Cheers!
All I know it's a renowned Uni and the city/school are known for their technology prowess, tho people are skeptical about most eastern hemisphere excluding leipzig/Berlin. I would have gone there if it was the only admission then.

I think it's better to be optimistic that you can make it anywhere you find yourself. But you definitely be successful after studies.

At worst, concentrate on ur studies, brush up your skills, apply for internship/werkstudent then u will be ok.

Internship/werkstudent are far more important than the money u make from hustling laga job like cleaning/factory jobs, etc( still dont know why they call it laga job tho cheesy)

The best is to hope that your original documents arrive from Canada before your interview date. I don't see the embassy working with scanned copies.

Genau! but you can walk in boldly with a promise to send it in few days as soon as you have the docs. You may be considered.

But I wouldn't miss the Interview.

Is there anyone that apply to any of the below school plz i want to ask you some questions.

University of Tubingen

TU Illneaum
Why dont you ask. Someone may have better insights than the person that applied. anyway Uni Tubigen is a cool school esp in the area of AI, machine learning, etc

I once got admission there some years back (MA computational linguistics) and also got a job offer from the uni this year tho i declined the admission that year and also the job offer this year.

so why don't you write them? they usually reply within two days. Kindly take a leap of faith, they are engulfed with excess winter workload.

Wish you all the best!

Please, Is there any age barrier for undergraduate courses in germany, like am close to 30.
No barrier but u need to write a good Motivational letter and adjust your cv to address what you have been doing in the previous years.

Please how is city of Soest. Is it good for student life. I got admitted there.
Not a big city but there is nothing to fear. Soest is surrounded by big cities like Dortmund. you can always find something to do if there is nothing available for u to do in ur city. its about 40 mins to Dortmund and ur semester tickets takes u round NRW. 40 mins is not much trust me.

Cheers!

@Highbeeyajibola, or anyone currently studying at Tue chemitnz

I just received my admission letter today for Masters in web engineering.

My fear is about one's inability to get a job in eastern side of germany during studies.

With your experience so far what would you say about studies in chemitnz and also working while studying.

Thanks.
I will jump at the offer if that is the only offer I have at the moment. That being said there is always a way out in every circumstance. there are also summer jobs ( like Amazon) if selected you can make enough money to take care of urself during the semester plus other possible ways to survive.

cheers!

Well, first course makes sense, my in-law read same and He is doing fine upon graduation. I have no information about the second school. Though I learnt study is online for that same course and school BAI which is good cause it affords you time to work also. Best of luck in any you opt for
In addition to that, go for the first [Business Informatics], the course makes brain. for the later, the more you work the more you are taxed and less time you have for your studies. it's what you do after your studies that matters most. my 2cents tho.

Yours took how many weeks exactly?
Its incredible but if i recall vividly both sending and receiving my first admission Letter took about three weeks or less.

For those hoping for miracles, do not despair and take a leap of faith. Impossible is nothing!

God is still in the biz of doing wonders!

sent my doc to my fam here from Umuahia via DHL and it got here in less than 2days before it was sent to uni-assist and some schools that needed the docs also.

For someone out there about to give up on us! Don't dare quit on us or loose hope. AL( Admission letters), Visum, AD( Appointment Dates), etc will fall on us all.

Thanks for coming back to enlighten us. Your posts have been very very helpful.

Most times IT fields are mentioned as per German runs, what I see often talked about are usually about coding/programming/application developments aspects of IT.

Kindly advise on IT scenarios that are non-programming e.g. Telecommunications, IT Tech/Network Support, Network Admin/Operations, Security and Enterprise Architecture/Designs. How are the opportunities both for part-time student jobs and post-study professional full-time job in these other IT areas?
There are great opportunities for all but may require language skills to fit in unlike programming. I have homies working part time and full time in IT security and Network Admin respectively. Just brush up ur German u will be fine as far as you know your onions in this domain. Opportunities await u sir/madam.

Good Evening!

Ok. Thanks

Do you have an idea how long it takes Uni-assist to process admission? I just applied last week.
Uni-assist doesn’t process admission rather they process your application docs . They only vet ur docs and push to your respective schools. Your school still has the final decision. wink

Secondly, you can expedite this process by contacting them via their contact page with ur details of payment, etc. send them a snapshot of ur payment. I did it worked for me during my time.

Lastly, on receipt of payment and docs. It take usually 4 to 6 weeks ( see https://www.uni-assist.de/en/how-to-apply/send-track/status-evaluation-result-admission/). But mine took less than that.

Happy Monday Evening with smiles

@computerholicgoc, what are job opportunities like for people like us who aint proficient in german at all? tho i intend taking A1 classes before travelling, did u arm yourself with the language proficiency b4 departing Nigeria which enabled u get a job quicker or u began learning german when u arrived
Halo Barth!

There are enough jobs for everyone but the question is: are you job ready?

I had little or no language skills ab initio. In short i just started my A1 class which my company offered me pro bono.

I didn't get job immediately! i finished all my courses in ten months (2 semesters) before i got my first job as a software engineer Intern tho i did some blue collar job to keep body and soul together..lol..

But please learn it if possible upto B1 before coming.

Happy weekend!

Wow.. so bro, are you saying everyone here who got admitted used their original for enrollment and not the student copy?
means I have to find a way to extract that my transcript from exams and records for use during the entire process. problem is my school (FUNAAB) don't hand transcripts directly to students.
I don't think any Nigerian school does because its another medium for generating revenue for the school unlike here. For enrolment in person i don't think you need the original transcript. it was never a requirement during my enrolment in person. this enrolment we re talking about lasts less than 5minutes. you will be impressed the way your intl office will just handle things meticulously!

Just have other certs/docs in original and worry less about original transcript!

Happy Saturday!

Hello bro, sincere appreciation for remembering to give back to the "hand" that fed you. Not many people will do that. God bless you.

Please, tell me what you think about this post i made just recently. Its a long read, and i crave your patience in reading it. https://www.nairaland.com/5042902/general-german-student-visa-enquiries/569#79944117

Also, what do you know about the city of Trier and Baden-Wutterburg? I have eyes on both cities now. How welcoming are they in terms od education quality, accomodation and student jobs?

I look forward to your response sir.

Thanks
Good Read! i read all!! just filtered the trivial infos!!! lol

Taking retrospective look at your post @https://www.nairaland.com/5042902/general-german-student-visa-enquiries/569#79944117:

Business Informatics is the way forward. you don’t need german speaking prowess to fit into the labor market. so I advice Business Informatics or Business Intelligence related courses. But you need to pay the price of inculcating IT skills into your bloodstream. Business Informatics is concatenation of IT and Business. So get ready for programming, Data Science, Machine learning in order to stay relevant. No need for any phobia. Its not a rocket science. Its totally doable. there some nice Business IT courses i saw at koblenz( not a bad city--its between Bonn and frankfurt )

For Trier, I only know the city as a beautiful city. i am sorry i don't know much about the city.

Baden-Wutterburg is state and not a city. Has some big cities in it like Stuttgart, Mannheim, etc. there are plethora of job opportunities but plagued with high rent prices too..lol.. some big companies are headquartered there like Bosch( near stuttgart ), Hugo Boss in Metzingen and the list goes on.

that being said , my advice is to pay more attention to courses not cities. I studied in small city Kiel but it didn't define me rather it helped to redefine me for the best.

All the best Bro/Sis!

Schönes Wochenende!
