ipobarecriminals:it is very sad how the mods move this so called fake traveller's posts to the frontpage. yesterday half of the pictures he posted on that owerri thread were actually from other states. my advise is that the mods should stop encouraging this fraud with frontpage and also delete any further thread he creates. nairaland should not be used as a place where misinformation is promoted. |
ipobarecriminals:don't mind him, i have called the attention of the mods; seun lalasticlala mynd44. stop encouraging the fake traveller with front page. he is just uploading random internet pictures and it is confusing and misleading viewers of this site. they should take that nonsense to ipob sites. |
ipobarecriminals:The ipob OP is a fraud, he is just uploading random pictures from everywhere. he did the same thing with that owerri thread yesterday. mod should take note of this op that goes about uploading unrelated pictures. this is misleading, stop energizing this fake traveller with frontpage. thank you. cc: mynd44 seun lalasticlala |

Making Ogun state a foremost market for local and foreign investors will remain a priority for the state government. This assurance was given by Governor Ibikunle Amosun while hosting the ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Nigeria, Mr Harry Purwanto, in his office in Abeokuta, the state capital. On his part, Mr Purwanto also expressed delight in partnering with the government, especially with what he described as the state’s friendly business environment and policies. http://www.channelstv.com/2017/05/04/ogun-state-govt-partners-indonesia-to-improve-foreign-local-investments/ |
Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers attacked the Imo State house of Assembly complex situated in Owerri, the state capital, carting away valuables, office equipment, electronics and other vital documents. Our correspondent learnt that the latest attack was the third in 2017. A lawmaker, Emma Orie, who represents Ohaji /Egbema state constituency told our correspondent on the phone on Wednesday, that his office was not burgled during the armed robbery attack. He, however, said that the offices of three of his colleagues, Mike Iheanatu (Aboh Mbaise) Uche Oguwuike (Ikeduru) and Uche Agabiga (Orsu) were robbed by the gangsters. An Assembly source, who preferred to be anonymous, said that the hoodlums gained access into the offices of the three lawmakers through the ceilings at night. According to him, it was when the staff members attached to the lawmakers resumed for work in the morning that they discovered that the tables and chairs had been turned upside down, and computers, documents, television sets and other valuables had been stolen. When contacted, the Chief Press Secretary to the speaker of the house of Assembly, Ben Ilochonwu confirmed the development and said that the hoodlums only stole electronic sets and gadgets from the lawmakers’ offices. When contacted for reaction, one of the affected lawmakers, Iheanatu, dropped the phone on our correspondent immediately he introduced himself to him. The spokesperson for the police in the state, Andrew Enwerem, could not be reached as of the time of filing this report. http://punchng.com/gunmen-invade-imo-assembly-cart-away-documents-electronics/ lalasticlala |

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has assured of his administration’s commitment to always place the welfare of Ogun citizens on the front burner. Gov Ibikunle Amosun The governor gave the assurance, on Tuesday, while addressing the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists led by its President, Alhaji Waheed Odusile, who came on a courtesy visit to the Governor in his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office. The NUJ leadership also seized the opportunity to formally inform the governor of the union’s decision to honour him with the 2016 Excellence in Leadership Award. Explaining the rationale for choosing the Ogun State Governor for the award, Odusile said it was in recognition of the giants strides Governor Amosun has recorded in his mission to rebuild Ogun State. “As journalists, we have gone round the country and we are impressed with the level of development we have seen in Ogun State,” he said. The Governor who appreciated the Union for recognising him with the award, said it would spur and challenge his administration to do more and serve the state with greater sense of dedication, vigor and vitality. “I will continue to serve the good people of Ogun State with more dedication, vigour and hardwork,” Governor Amosun said. According to Adejuwon Soyinka, Senior Special Assistant (Media) Ogun State governor, the governor while speaking assured that his administration would not leave any projects abandoned. He said, “contractors have been mobilized back to site across the state and we promise to complete all projects initiated across the state before the end of our tenure.” Speaking on the welfare of civil servants in Ogun State, Governor Amosun who promised to offset all outstanding cooperative deductions before the end of the year, revealed that about 6 months of the deductions would be paid from the Paris Club refund the state is expecting. He also seized the ocassion to announce that the state government has concluded plans to pay the October 2016 salaries of some workers who took part in an illegal strike action last year. Govermor Amosun said the payment would be effected before the commemoration of this year’s Workers Day on May 1. It will be recalled that the state government evoked the ‘no work, no pay rule’ in response to a politically motivated strike action embarked upon by a section of the labour movement in the state in September 2016. Speaking earlier, Odusile commended the Governor for the infrastructural development that has dotted the nooks and crannies of the state. He also appreciated the Governor for hosting the first NUJ Media Summit in 2016. Alhaji Odusile noted that the Mission to Rebuild Ogun State is already yielding results and helping in the process of creating a desirable future for the gateway state. Daredevil armed robbers on Sunday killed an entire family in Nekede, Owerri West Local Council of Imo State. The yet-to-be identified man was killed in a cold blood with his wife and 22-year-old son. According to an eyewitness, the robbers trailed the man who was returning from a church service in his Lexus 330 SUV Jeep to his apartment at No. 4, Nekede Road. The eyewitness said: “The man was led into his living room at gunpoint and requested him to bring all the money he had in the house. But when the man returned with N70,000, the robbers who had expected more money, ordered him to bring more but he pleaded with them that he doesn’t have any other money at home. “While the man was pleading, his wife who was also in the living room with them began to cry, begging the robbers to spare her husband. Her plea infuriated the robbers who shot her dead. At this point, the man who had been cooperative with the armed men lost his cool and inquired why they had to shoot his wife. “The robbers again shot the man and just as they were about escaping from the scene, they saw the son of the couple climbing down the staircase after hearing the gunshots. The young man was also shot dead by the robbers before fleeing.” The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Andrew Enwerem, said he was yet to be officially briefed on the incident. In another development, it was a gloomy day for residents of Kakangi District in Birnin Gwari Local Council of Kaduna State last Friday as two brothers were allegedly killed by members of the vigilance group in the area. The police have directed relatives of the deceased persons to immediately report the incident at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Birnin Gwari for proper investigation. The younger brother of the deceased, Mallam Shehu Rankadede, said the duo, Oli Lafia and Rankadede Nana, had left home for Biski village to perform Juma’at prayers last Friday, but did not return. According to Rankadede, “since then, we have been searching for them. We learnt members of the vigilance group arrested them. The search yielded positive result as their decomposing bodies were recovered in the bush. “We are appealing to the Kaduna State government and security agencies to arrest the suspects and bring them to justice without delay. Our brothers were not criminals,” he said. The state PPRO, Mallam Usman Aliyu, said: “Please, tell them to report the incident at the Divisional Police in Birnin Gwari so that investigation will commence.” https://guardian.ng/news/robbers-kill-family-of-three-in-imo-state/ |
Lagos-based businessman, Benedict Kpaduwa, at his hometown in Anara, in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State. Kpaduwa was a former Principal Manager, Finance and Accounts, at the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria. Reports have it that the victim was abducted around 9am on the premises of his firm, Mekcyn Investment. Eyewitnesses told our correspondent that the armed men were in a Hummer bus. They reportedly trailed Kpaduwa to the premises of the firm and dragged him out of his Toyota Corolla after shooting repeatedly into the air to scare away his workers and passersby. The victim, our correspondent gathered, had just returned home from Lagos when the incident happened. A source in the village, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Kpaduwa was kidnapped in the presence of his workers, who scampered to safety. The source said the villagers had reported the incident at the Anara Police Division at Idem, adding that the businessman was kidnapped close to his home. “The gunmen shot repeatedly into the air. They went straight to their target and dragged him from his Toyota Corolla into their Hummer bus. They ordered a pastor of a nearby church, who came out on hearing gunshots, to lie down,” he said. Another resident, who did not want to be identified, said he heard the sound of gunshots and ran to safety, only to be told afterwards that the 55-year-old businessman had been abducted. A source in the village told our correspondent that the kidnappers had yet to contact the victim’s family. https://www.informationng.com/2017/04/business-man-abducted-imo-state.html |
