PoliticsOgun LG Poll: ZLP Candidate, Bankole Adewale Vows To Rescue Abeokuta North From by ComradeWesto(op): 9:12pm On Jul 22, 2021
Chairmanship candidate in Abeokuta North Local Government, ANLG, under the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, Hon. Bankole Adewale Saheed has vowed to wrest and rescue Abeokuta North Local Government, ANLG from the slavery of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC in the forthcoming council elections in Ogun state.

Hon. Bankole made the vow during the ZLP political-campaign rally within the local government area over the weekend, while passing his good-will messages to electorates ahead of the coming polls on Saturday, 24th July, 2021.

Falcontimes.com.ng learnt that, Hon. Bankole’s campaign rally, which was briefly streamed live over the weekend on his facebook account; “Bankole Adewale” was conducted in a loud but peaceful manner, alongside various group of supporters, political stakeholders, friends and well-wishers.

During the rally, jubilant crowd danced to drumming and loud music in convoy, while the State Party Chairman of the ZLP, Comrade Boyede Ijaduoye read the party’s manifesto to the electorates, noting that the rally was “a clarion call to free the people of Abeokuta North local government from APC slavery”.

“We are out today, to canvass supporters and voters for our capable son of the soil, Hon. Bankole Adewale Saheed to be the next Chairman of Abeokuta North local government in the coming council elections”, Comrade Ijaduoye said.

“As we can all see, the selfishness of the ruling party is second to none. The ruling party, APC is planning to enslave the good people of Abeokuta North by imposing someone of no traceable source of income as their Chairmanship candidate to come and exploit our resources and run away with our had earned wealth”, Ijaduoye added.

“I believe that we now know their intention, and the only way out is to deny them, and support Zenith Labour Party. Let us vote Hon. Bankole Adewale Saheed as the next Chairman of Abeokuta North local government and all the Councillorship Candidates under ZLP in the coming local government elections in order to set us free from APC slavery”, the party chairman concluded.

However, Hon. Bankole also vowed to defeat the APC candidate in the coming local government poll, adding that, when he eventually emerge, “the plights of the good people of Abeokuta North will surely be attended to, and no stone will be left unturned”.

Some of the personalities who featured in the campaign rally include; the ZLP Vice Chairmanship Candidate in ANLG – Hon. Sanni Oluwafemi Israel, ZLP Councilorhip Candidate of Ward9 – Hon. Salami Saheed (Jasiri) Olomore Youth Base Cordinator – Jonathan Sobowale (Jayboy), Wife of the Chairmanship Candidate – Hon. (Mrs) Tundun Aishat Bankole and others.

Politics#endsars #endpolicebrutality - Hon. Muyiwa Fajimi Speaks by ComradeWesto(op): 6:19pm On Oct 16, 2020
MY STAND ON #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutality

By - Honourable Muyiwa Fajimi

Firstly, I want applaud the courage of every Nigerian youth that has been pushing for positive change in our country. By the special grace of God, we shall not labour in vain.

Fellow Nigerians, sincerely, it was so annoying that at this time of righteous anger, in the face of so much protests and public outcry to #EndSARS and #EndPoliceBrutality, the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu announced the disbandment of #SARS across the country on Sunday 11th October, 2020, and within 24hours, the same #SARS was replaced with #SWAT without any proactive and transparent policies to manage impending crises in the country.

Unfortunately, the same untrained and unethical Police officers called #SARS are going to be redeployed and find their ways to join #SWAT, after which, their usual harassement and brutality on innocent Nigerians will continue.

It is so sad that an everage Nigerian youth cannot freely dress-well and look good without the fear of getting tortured or brutalized by the men of the so called #SARS lawlessly.

Honestly, things are not done this way in other countries. Apart from the fact that the replacement of #SARS with #SWAT came at the wrong time, why bringing #SWAT when the top hierarchies of the government and security agencies have not accepted responsibilties and tender genuine apologies to all Nigerians over several evidental damages that #SARS has caused?

One may also wish to know or ask if the whole essence of creating #SARS or #SWAT is all because of cybercrime and yahoo boys because, the primary duty of the men of #SARS has always been to run after every well looking young man and yahoo boys ever since I have known them.

Though, I do not support frauding or crime deal at any level, but what we all need to know is that; Online fraud is committed online, and the best way to fight or combact it is to create a dedicated ICT unit and a team of computer experts in the Nigerian Police to take care of that, while the theoretically disbanded #SARS be redeployed to combact with Bandits, Kidnappers, Bokoharam, Fulani Herdsmen, Terrosits, etc in our society. This will be far better than allowing #SARS or #SWAT to continuing extorting, harassing and killing our young men all in the name of laptops, iPhones, good cars, tinted hairs, tattoos, etc. As a matter of fact, everyone has a right to how he or she wishes to dress or look. It is our constitutional right.

Going forward, I want to encourage all young Nigerians at a level where I also belong not to give up. Let us not get distracted with some prices we are paying now. Let us not relent because of some injuries that are being recorded for this worthy protest to #EndSARS and #EndPoliceBrutality. The success of this worthy protest should rather be our priority, and I believe that our efforts and sacrifices will never be in vain.

Until when our voices is heard to #EndSARS, #EndSWAT and #EndPoliceBrutality, until when proper apologies are tendered to all of us by our President and other top security hierarchies in the country, until they acknowledge that Nigerian Police is bad and put proactive and transparent measure in place for better reform, until they admit that #SARS has truly and baselessly cut the lives of many young men and women short, until they are ready to convince Nigerians with reasonable polices and carry all youth leaders and stakeholders along to contribute to the policies to reform Nigerian Police, we shall continue to peacefully protest and fight for our rights and lives, and may we all find the strength to do what is right for our country.

- I am in for a #GenuineProtest

- I am in for the protest to #EndSARS

- I am in for the protest to #EndSWAT

- I am in for the protest to #EndPoliceBurtality

- I am in for the protest to #ReformPolice

- I am in for the protest to #EndIndisciplineRegardless

Enough, is enough!

PoliticsAnother Shame Of A Nation - Westo Adekunle Adejumo by ComradeWesto(op): 10:41am On Nov 09, 2018
ANOTHER SHAME OF A NATION!

Recently, Dr. Chris Ngige, who is also the Federal Minister of Labour and Employment said that; N24,000 is enough for a family of four(4) to feed in a month; arguing that N30,000 minimum wage is too much for Federal Government to approve.

This same government that said they can't pay the new minimum wage of N30,000 still donated $500k to Guinea-Bissau.

This is the same government that borrowed ₦13 trillion in 3 years.

This same government said they cant fund 2019 budget without selling assets.

Here is Professor Lai Mohammed, the Federal Minister of Information and Culture, speaking with confidence and boldness that; their government of anti corruption is feeding Shiite's (El - Zakzaky) with N3.5million every month!

If I may ask, where is the integrity of this APC/Buhari government? Could it be that this government deliberately detained El - Zakzaky in order to loot money with his name?

As for me, this present government of APC/Buhari has no integrity at all.

I don't blame Lai Mohammed. The reason why APC/Buhari government continues to insult our intelligence is because they have some foolish and mindless people that believe their lies.

If they did not have some lazy and blind Nigerians that always defend their atrocities, they would not be so bold to lie and hold this country to ransom.

I think Lai Mohammed should carry on.

Your mindless followers are here to defend you.

MAPOLY TO MAUSTECH: WHICH WAY TO GO?

By - Comrade Westo Adekunle Adejumo

After so many hullabaloos on MAPOLY / MAUSTECH Saga, it is now very clear that; politics has found its way in beyond redemption.

I was on Campus yesterday, and I saw a memo signed and pasted on all notice boards by the School Registrar on the decision that, the sales of HND forms for Full-time and Part-time students is on. Even, a deadline was given for the sales, while the muted Second Semester Examinations for the 'Returning Students' will commence anytime from next week. Also, the government has insisted that the sales of forms for ND students / Jambites should be put on hold as no admission will be given to them. Rather, the barren land in Ipokia has been concluded by the Governor to be the new Poly site for all ‘Freshers’ seeking ND admission into MAPOLY / Ogun State Polytechnic. Oppositely, the ASUP still refused to agree with this decision, as it was believed to be the new Rector / Government's personal opinion against theirs.

It may surprise some people to know that, as big as MAPOLY Alumni Association is, in terms of Members and names, so equal to their level of weakness in terms of decision and action plan.

So far so good, none of the two wings, that is; The National Executive Council (NEC) and Committee of Distinguished Alumni (CODA) which constitutes the Alumni Association of MAPOLY has done anything meaningful to rescue the situation that has almost jeopardized the efforts of the good staff and students of Great MAPOLY, just as the school keeps facing depression in the hands of the state government, due to unpalatable policies, aimed at scoring mere political points. As observed, the NEC and CODA have not displayed any real or genuine interest in the current issues because of some unworthy reasons gathered within.

Though, while the NEC wing turned a total 'deaf-ear', some members of CODA had only made an effort to have a successful horrifying meeting with the state Commissioner for Education, Mrs Modupe Mojuta without any 'ear-friendly' outcome, following my previous broadcast on social media on this same saga, titled "TO THE GREAT ALUMNI OF MAPOLY".

Fine, the CODA team went into a meeting with the state Commissioner for Education but, with just 9-selected members by the Secretary of the CODA. The selection of the 9-members to me was more of 'we-we' than individual's capability. At the end of the day, the meeting had rather favoured the government more. Neither the staff nor students were well briefed with adequate information on the outcome of the meeting after they came back from the Commissioner's office. No communiqué, no press statement, no memo and no single official feedback. Probably, the fear of saying what the outcome of the meeting is has gripped those that represented, as I'm sure, that if such meeting had favoured the school, staff or students, the noise would have been everywhere by the representatives of the CODA. This made me ask a question thus:

Is MAPOLY Alumni Association now a newly evoke educational sector in the state?

Secretly, a source within the CODA team that went to have meeting with the commissioner revealed that; after the commissioner had initially belittled them without any humble welcome to her office, the commissioner in her later conversation tastefully admitted that their government had wrongly construed the bill that sustained the upgrade of MAPOLY into a University of Technology. She said; “Government only wants a ‘New University’ to kick start in MAPOLY using existing structure inside MAPOLY Campus, while MAPOLY will be moved to IPOKIA site with a name change to Ogun State Polytechnic”. Although, this is not in any way in line with the content of the bill but, totally against the bill's substance approved by the Ogun State House of Assembly (OGHA). Nevertheless, due to the perceived arrogance displayed by the members of ASUP and others, the government also decided to use its power.

Deceitfully, approximately a week after the shadow meeting between some members of CODA and the state commissioner for Education, a cajoling press statement was released by the commissioner, which only addressed the Alumni personally on future benefits that will be enjoyed by them after which the government might have successfully transmitted MAPOLY to MAUSTECH. The press statement did not in any way address those aching issues affecting the school activities.

For more clarifications, below are some extracts from the press statements by the commissioner for education, following the meeting with some members of CODA:

".....the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota who made this known while playing host to the Executive members of the Association at her office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said the change in status of the polytechnic to a University of Science and Technology would not have any effect on the activities of the Alumni Association....."

# (Could this be what the Alumni fell for?)

".....your Association needs not bother on the transition of MAPOLY to MAUSTECH. What has happened was borne out of the belief that there should be balance in the development of the State. The Governor believes that every senatorial district of the State should have a feel of the mission to rebuild agenda that is currently pervading the State. Hence, the location of the State Polytechnic at Ipokia, the Commissioner said....."

# (Definitely, the transition is not genuine. Rather, it was borne out of political purpose. But, must everything be done for political purpose?)

".....the National President of the Association, Mr. Akeem Ayoade, said that their visit was to obtain first-hand information on the status of the new Polytechnic and to ascertain if its members could further their education in the new University....."

# (How is this related to the ongoing issues please? How could a whole National President of MAPOLY Alumni Association say that; their visit was to obtain first-hand information on the status of the new Polytechnic and to ascertain if its members could further their education in the new University?) Arrant nonsense!

As for me, I am not impressed with the performance of the selected members of CODA wing of MAPOLY Alumni Association. Notwithstanding, and without any sense of discrimination between HND and Bsc, no sane person will go against the upgrade of MAPOLY into a University but, the process must not jeopardize the efforts of those apostles that had sacrificed a lot in ensuring that the school got to the height it has attained, ranging from government sponsoring institution into self sustaining academic institution, now to a level of attracting conversion into a University. It is not damn easy!

Academically, this government needs to be educated that; upgrading an academic institution or any higher institution of learning like MAPOLY into a University of Science and Technology is different from conversion, while conversion is different from starting a new institution afresh. Unfortunately, the Alumni body that was supposed to join forces and educate the government and even helps the government out to get things right is still turning a deaf-ear and acting novice on this sensitive matter.

It marvels me to see that what is playing out in my Alma-mata is totally different from what is being agitated and approved.

An upgrade was agitated and approved but, starting a new institution with the usage of an existing structure, without patently addressing what will become the faith of; - MAPOLY being a self sustaining Higher Institution of Learning, - the admission of over 25,0000 MAPAITES, - all the efforts and sacrifices of the Academic and non Academic Staff, - Traders, - Entrepreneurs, (Taxi Drivers, Food sellers, Shop Owners, Landlords, etc).

It is very annoying that after the failed attempt by some members of CODA, up till date, the NEC, which is the upper chamber of the Alumni body is still acting apprentice on the ongoing slow policies being implemented by the state government over what was initially perceived to be a smooth upgrade of MAPOLY into a University of Science and Technology.

It is very sad that the leadership of NEC only believes that the disagreement between the ASUP and state government is not enough to demand for the full interference of the Association because of the perception that ASUP and Government are both fighting for personal interest.

The NEC is of the opinion that; the government is doing all in order to score political points and accolades, while ASUP is after securing their jobs / employments.

Furthermore, I also observed that the NEC is rather feeling proud or too big to prevail on the ongoing saga in the way it ought to be handled, probably to avoid losing their base in the hands of the state government. My reasons are based on the expression and information gathered from a key officer within the Alumni Association when I asked him on why the NEC has refused to interfere in the matter since, and why the CODA wing has rather gone to ask such nauseating questions among other important things that demand explanation.

During my personal engagement with the officer, he revealed that:

- 'Ever since the issue has started, they did not receive any official briefing from neither the school management nor the ASUP about what is going on, and where the association can come in’.

- ‘The news / information were not tabled officially before the NEC or CODA. Not even the government made it known to the association through any official document or letter that the school will either be converted or upgraded into a University’.

- ‘That their avoidance was based on hearsays, which was not enough to act on’.

To me, the NEC wing of the Alumni Association is myopic to have considered the saga not worthy to act on, despite the fact that, the information is everywhere.

# For how long will NEC wing of MAPOLY Alumni Association continue to keep mute and act novice on issues that have disrupted the academic activities inside the Campus?

# For how long will NEC wing of MAPOLY Alumni Association continue to keep mute and act novice on issues that has led to the wildcat strike on the conduction of second semester examinations for the returning students?

# For how long will NEC wing of MAPOLY Alumni Association continue to keep mute and act novice on issues that have hindered the sales of entry forms for JAMBITES, especially those who have chosen MAPOLY as their choice of institution while filling their forms?

# For how long will NEC wing of MAPOLY Alumni Association continue to keep mute and act novice on issues that led to staff protest, disorderliness and denial of Prof Oke Bukola, Professor Isaq Salako among others members of the Transition Committee during the penultimate week.

# For how long will NEC wing of MAPOLY Alumni Association continue to keep mute and act novice on issues that led to Students protest to Governor's Office under the leadership of NANS - Ogun JCC Chairman. In which, the School Rector, Prof Itiola was asked to go on a terminal leave with immediate effect on the same day.

# For how long will NEC wing of MAPOLY Alumni Association continue to keep mute and act novice on issues that are everywhere in the public, even in the media.

Let us not forget that UNILAG Alumni Association was not officially informed before they rejected the wish of Federal Government under the leadership of former President GEJ to change the name of their institution from University of Lagos (UNILAG) to Moshood Abiola University, Lagos (MAULAG).

Also, Students of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) and their Alumni Association were not written officially nor informed before putting forces together to reject Governor Amosun's attempt to scrap their Great Institution for political reasons.

Why is MAPOLY'S case different?

Though, I will continue to be proud of myself being an Alumnus of Great MAPOLY but, I detest any unduly process capable of jeopardizing the efforts of the good Staff and Students of my Great Alma-mata.

Dear Intellectual Alumni and other pragmatic Nigerians that have benefited from MAPOLY in one way or the other, if truly we are proud of those benefits, then, we need to allow others to benefit as well, by not allowing any government, organization or association to play politics with our Alma-mata.

Conclusively, I want to advise all admission seekers into MAPOLY to look elsewhere for now, exception on those that still feel better staying at home. I will never advise anyone to keep hope that something will come from MAPOLY because, no clear hope is in fold as far as MAPOLY / MAUSTECH is concerned. That of Ogun State Poly - Ipokia site is not even part of it at all, as no work is yet to commence on the site till now, except for shadow promises from Mr
Governor. It is just a pity situation and quite unfortunate.

Till then;

I stand with the Good Students of MAPOLY,
I stand with JAMBITES and All Admission Seekers into MAPOLY,
I stand with the Good Academic and Non Academic Staff of MAPOLY,
I stand with the Good Members ASUP,
I stand with the Good and Intellectual Alumni of MAPOLY,
I stand with Proper and Genuine Transition of MAPOLY devoid of Politics,
I stand with the Greatest Nigerian Students.

Till then;

OTUNBA ROTIMI PASEDA: The Man That Got TASUED Noisy

It was really an interesting day inside Otunba Gbenga Daniel Hall at Tai Solarin University of Education as the student union government of the school made the day, 18th of may its Mr and Mrs Tasued beauty pageant day. I didn't get to the venue too early enough to witness the opening of the programme but the incessant chanting of the name "Paseda" couldn't but made me leave what I was doing to clear the doubt I was having whether Paseda is a celebrity or the one time governorship aspirant in Ogun state.

Not until I got into the hall of the event that I got to find out that the man of the youths was actually the one at the scene, sorry I mean the man of the people.

Although, I have read news about his philanthropical assistance to the society being a business mogul but just today I confirmed the credibility of why the media need to praise him.

Someone might be confused why I have taken him so personal but as a youth I can't deny the everlasting goodwill the Paseda Legacy Foundation continues to instill in the life of Nigerian Youths both home and abroad.

And perhaps my thought is actually the thought of every tasuedites inside that hall today as they were enchanting ORP ORP ORP and I had to ask the student beside me what ORP means as I was told it means Otunba Rotimi Paseda.

He had started receiving encomium from the students populace even before he was called out that one would think "Paseda" was the only guest present at the occasion. I watched him give out umbrellas to the contestants and tablet gadgets, android phones and money to the lucky winners.

He got more of my attention as he delivered his speech and said he "frowns at political violence and blind loyalty". He did advise the youths to "make political affiliation an individual decision" and "support for candidates should be based on what is good for his future". Indeed a man that loves the sons and daughters of the poor.

Meanwhile, I still stand here as a tasuedite waiting for Otunba Rotimi Paseda to extend his philanthropical hands towards TASUED community.

PoliticsPaseda Is A Worthy Ambassador Of Yoruba Empire - Emir Sanusi by ComradeWesto(op): 4:18pm On May 12, 2017
PASEDA IS A WORTHY AMBASSADOR OF YORUBA EMPIRE - Emir Sanusi

The Ogun State gubernatorial candidate of Unity Party of Nigeria, (UPN) in the 2015 Governorship election, Otunba Rotimi Paseda has been described as a "worthy Ambassador" of Yorubaland whose immense contribution to national unity cannot be undermined.

The Emir of Kano, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido IV made this commendation on Thursday at his Palace when the Hausa community in Ogun State presented Otunba Paseda as the Garkuwan Hausawan in the state to the Emir in Kano state.

Emir Sanusi said, the conferment of the chieftaincy title on the Ijebu-born Prince was justifiable, considering his unprecedented achievement in the private sector and unflinching support for the Hausa community in Ogun State.

He said he was not disappointed in conferring the Garkuwan title on Paseda as a Prince from Ijebuland whose character epitomizes nobility.

The Emir therefore enjoined Otunba Paseda to always uphold the tenet of the Garkuwan title, and continued to ensure the peaceful coexistence between the Yoruba and the Hausa communities in Ogun State.

He said, "I welcome you to the Emirate council of Kano state. I am not disappointed with the conferment of the Garkuwan title on your personality. I have read and followed your unprecedented achievement in the private sector and support for my subjects (Hausas) in Ogun State.

"I'm not surprised with your unflinching support because you are a Prince from Ijebu Kingdom. The Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona is someone whom I always exchange ideas with. The Ijebu people are lovely people and accommodating.

"But always live up to your responsibilities as Garkuwan and don't hesitate to run to the Emirate council whenever you are in need of advice because you are now a member of the Emirate council", Emir Sanusi concluded.

In his reaction, the Garkuwan Hausawan of Ogun State, Otunba Rotimi Paseda appreciated the Emir for his acceptability into the Emirate council, saying he would continue to represent the interest of the Hausa community ".

PoliticsPaseda: The State Of Seventeen (17) Years Of Democracy In Nigeria by ComradeWesto(op): 7:06pm On May 29, 2016
PASEDA: THE STATE OF SEVENTEEN (17) YEARS OF DEMOCRACY IN NIGERIA

Fellow Nigerians, today, we celebrate our Democracy. For Seventeen (17) years, we have experienced various forms of challenges from many parts of the country, however, we are still strong and hopeful for a better tomorrow.

We cannot deny that we have encountered various setback as a country, ranging from Terrorism, Corruption, Militancy, Poverty, etc. We have even tried to paint these setback and make them look political.

If after seventy (17) years of democracy, we are still faced with lots of challenges on issues that are not worth it, then our democracy is not worth celebrating.

Looking at the major sectors and the need of the people, one will agree with me that the following challenges are enough to prevent us from celebrating our expected true democratic system of Government in Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.

- EDUCATION
Ogun State has had its own fair share of setback, obviously, not in terms of some of the above mentioned, yet, we have struggled to bring these setback under control as we are expected to. We are fighting hard to admit these challenges, rather than strive to curtail them.

Ogun state has the highest number of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria, still, our graduates struggle to find their footing in their various fields of study. Ogun state is one of the few States in Nigeria, that owns two State Universities and Seven State polytechnics. But where does this place us in the ranking of states with high standard of living?

- BASIC AMENITIES
Basic amenities that make life enjoyable are obviously absent in many parts of the State. Finding these basic amenities have brought about untold hardship to our dear people.

In many parts of the State, getting water and other basic essentials for our daily living is as difficult as finding gold. We have had to go through tough times to make ends meet.

Ogun State is endowed with Youths who are highly intelligent but falling short of expectation because of the highly limited opportunities before them. Youths with high degree of working capacity, who are still hoping for the dividends of Democracy.

- POVERTY
The rate at which poverty is growing in Ogun State is seriously alarming. We are sad for this is not where we should be at such a period when we should be developing with jet speed.

Poverty is one of the crippling factors towards the growth of a society. Ogun State has more than required to make poverty a thing of the past, however, the wrong usage of our precious resources has put us in a condition where poverty is growing in the State with little efforts by the present day Government at curbing it.

More so, Local Governments are constantly starved of funds for the day-to-day running of their affairs. Since the Local Government is closer to the people than any other tier of the Government, it is expected that they should be well funded to make life meaningful to the residents of their communities.

- INSECURITY
Also, the state of insecurity in Ogun State is worrisome, recently, we heard the shocking News of the kidnap of Senator Iyabo Anisulowo in Yewa. Security is one of the aspects of life that should not be taken with levity.

When we are not secure, we fear even our neighbours. Ogun State previously had an admirable record of peace amongst other States in Nigeria. Until recently when our Government looked the other way which has paved way for insecurity in Ogun State.

- INADEQUATE WELFARISM FOR STATE WORKERS
We should not forget the non-payment of salaries, pensions and other civil servants' entitlements. When people work hard, doing what they are employed to do, and do not get paid as at when due, then they become discouraged at giving their best to their work.

It is noteworthy to remember that these payments are the rights of workers and not a privilege which should be given as at when remembered or considered.

The level at which workers' salaries are being delayed, either deliberately or not, is worthy of serious concern. Several times, even recently, workers of Ogun State Government have had to go on strike, protesting the non-payment of salaries, pensions and other entitlements.

- POOR HEALTH SERVICE
When we consider the poor service rendered to the people of Ogun State when they visit the State owned Hospitals for medical attention, it is saddening that the needed health facilities are not present.

This oversight by the Government on the Health sector has truncated the lives of many who need immediate medical attention, but could not get it as a result of the lack of basic first aid tools and drugs against emergencies.

When the people are healthy, they tend to give their best at what they do to earn a living, but when we can no longer trust the efficiency of the Government to provide these amenities, then fear set in.

Our hospitals are seriously in need of immediate upgrade to meet the standard of developed states. The incessant strike of medical practitioners has done more harm to the health sector in Ogun State, thereby, prolonging the health challenges of many indigenes against their right to be healthy and live long.

- MY PROSPECT
For us, democracy, social progress, and provision of opportunities should always go together, while recognizing that the specific form our democracy takes depends on the choice that we make.

For our Democracy to be meaningful, it must empower us to help ourselves, to shape our destiny, and to influence the world around us.

It is one thing to design democratic institutions, and another to persuade everyone to live by democratic precepts. Yes, the Government has a key role – but so do each and every one of us.

It requires a mindset that is ready to practice democracy, this means turning out to vote and getting engaged in our society.

Democracy can be seen to work when communities and indeed the Government is prepared and able to address opposing views, engage in constructive criticism and forge compromises.

Democracy should provide the most obviously natural environment for the protection of lives and property. It is important to deliver on cultural, economic and social needs – water, sanitation, access to a decent living.

Our core principles should be: participation, non-discrimination, transparency and accountability, to empower our people, communities and deliver equality in the opportunities for all people.

We have our own rights – but also the obligation to foster the rights of others.

Democracy can be seen at its strongest when the society as a whole puts emphasis on protecting the rights of the weakest, those who are in most need of the protection of their rights.

Nigeria, most especially Ogun State, would not have experienced so much setback and stagnation, if the blue print of the late sage, Pa Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo have been followed. These blue prints include: Free and qualitative education; adequate health service; job creation; and security.

We urge all Youths in Ogun state to imbibe the spirit of hard work, which is the foundation upon which Ogun state was built.

I hereby admonish all indigenes and residents of Ogun State to look beyond the present condition of our dear State. Let us continuously emulate the steps of Pa Awolowo, with absolute commitment and ensure that his legacy is forever upheld and cherished through our individual and group contribution to the betterment of our Society.

Long live Nigeria
Long live Ogun State.

PropertiesOgun, Amosun And The Nemesis Of Collapse Building by ComradeWesto(op): 10:20am On May 24, 2016
OGUN, AMOSUN AND THE NEMESIS OF COLLAPSE BUILDING

- By; Westo Adekunle Adejumo

Today, Tuesday, 24th of May, 2016 will make it one week and 4days that the ugly incident somewhere around Itoku Market occurred, where government Ultra Modern Market buildings of about 68rooms suddenly collapsed, which recorded one death, while scores were injured.

Fellow citizens of Ogun state, it is highly disheartening that up till this moment, the State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun could ignore and keep off from the family of the deceased and the injured since the dastard incident had happened.

Though, I have deliberately kept off my eyes from the ills and polity of governor Amosun in recent time, having observed some high level of inhumane policies among many other unworthy projects that has no direct impact on the common masses. I always felt bad at some youth’s response and comments on Social Media and other medium respectively, over several actions and inaction of Governor Amosun, which is not in tandem with the philosophy Ogun state and cries of the common masses, but issues of this nature cannot be overlooked, except we don’t want to be sincere with ourselves.

Thursday 19th and Friday 20th of May, 2016 were another memorable day I will never forget in a jiffy, and I know that some will not also forget, especially the affected families of this unpleasant incident. I could not stop my emotion as tears of pain rolled down my cheeks as I watched and listened to many comments made by those affected during an avid visit with the UPN governorship candidate, Otunba Rotimi Paseda and other sympathisers to the site of the incident and the home of the deceased, late Mrs. Noimot Oloponda, omo Wurimotu.

This incident has also made some common masses within the environment destabilized, while many were devastated and many are still mentally traumatized because, they lost a friend, colleague, lovely family member, a mother or a bread winner in the family. (An expression of thought by a Marxist, Mr Ayorinde Olajide, while narrating their ordeal to Otunba Rotimi Paseda at the site of the incident).

Funny enough, rather for Governor Amosun to show some sense of human and extend his kindness and gesture to the family of the deceased and others that were affected either wittingly or unwittingly, he further proposed to pull down some buildings around the environment where the incident happened at Igbore Community for reason best know to him. Why again? I asked.

Lest I forget, the collapsed four storey government Ultra Modern Market buildings of about 68rooms was allegedly given to one Chief Mrs Alaba Lawson (the Iyalode of Egba Yoruba Land, and the Chairman, Governing Council, MAPOLY), who later gave the building contract to her son and some local contractors. Could this be the reason why Governor Amosun had to let go off further investigation on the cause of the sudden collapsed of the said building or what could have caused the misshaped? I asked again.

Well, while I keep my mind with the family of the deceased, I still wish I can provide answers to the following:

- Can the loopholes ever be filled by another person because; the role of a mother can never be totally replaced, especially in a situation like this, where two under aged children are left behind by the deceased?

- What becomes the hope of the children left behind by the deceased?

- What becomes the hope of the family of the deceased whose life was cut short from this ugly and aching incident?

- Could Governor Amosun have ignored the family of the deceased deliberately because it happened to a commoner?

I will continue to sincerely appreciate the governorship candidate of UPN, and my Principal, Olatunde Rotimi Paseda, who has taken his time out of no time to visit and support the affected families and community members.

I hereby implore others to imbibe the spirit of oneness and show love to the family of the deceased and other people that were affected because they really need our help.

I also want to charge the good people of Ogun state to call on Governor Amosun in the way and tone he understands for necessary compensation to be done to the family of the deceased and others that were affected, and charge the handlers of the collapsed building accordingly, because, IF OUR GOVERNOR’S LIFE HAD BEEN CUT SHORT AS SUCH, HE WOULD NEVER BE A GOVERNOR TODAY.

Thank you all for reading. I RISE… Comrade Westo.

Well, thank God, the good people around the globe have spoken. By now, the writer should be seeing more reasons why Senator Prince Buruji Kashamu remains Great and why he will continue to be called a Great Man. All the comments are nothing but testaments to SPBK humane nature. Despites all efforts from different visible and invisible people that I would rather call "Bigots and Bimbos" that have decided to hide themselves under various veils to carry out hatchet work on the Man Buruji Kashamu, the Man Buruji Kashamu keeps defeating them and thereby putting them into un-washable shames. RIVERS STATE ELECTION TRIBUNAL’s JUDGMENT, MY OPINION – Comrade Westo

Now that Tribunal has sacked Governor Neysom Wike of Rivers State, and ordered election rerun within 90days in the State, no doubt lies the fact that Nigeria is manifesting all the attributes of a failed Nation, just as one keeps wondering if we are still practicing Democracy or ‘Militocracy’?!

Even if Nigerians need a bit of ‘Militocracy’ to get things right, preferential treatment and misuse of influence by some Power Centered Folks, in order to favour some microscopic view, in the name of political party / caucus is hence abysmal!

Just like Badero-Olusola Maiyegun-General Pupsy Kofo highlighted in one of his statement on his Facebook Account’s timeline as I quote: ‘’All the PDP strong states are getting rerun judgments from APC courts while all the APC states are getting petitions against them dismissed’’!

My own candid advice is therefore, that; before other PDP Governors, Honourables or Senators will lose their elective seats, it not a crime at this stage to humbly join or play along with those ‘Power Cantered Folks’, who suddenly turned to (Political) Megalomaniacs, rather than losing their mandates at the detriment of the good people of Nigeria that situate reliance because, APC to many acclaimed progressives can never do any wrong no matter what. – Comrade Westo.

BURUJI KASHAMU: THE MAN TO BEAT!

Election re-run is not a bad judgement in any court of law, it is just a test to reconfirm the strength and authenticity of the initial winner. The case of Buruji Kashamu is not an exception therefore, Buruji Kashamu is a man to beat. While we watch out for this Election Olympic game between the Man of the People, Senator Buruji Kashamu and the agent of Shame, Dapo Abiodun, victory is very certain for Senator Prince Buruji Kashamu because, Almighty God and the Good people of Ogun State are with him. SPBK... Success is certain!

Well, the good people have passed and said enough good comments above. I will only add that... Buruji Kashamu is a special being. He will continue to win even if the election is conducted inside Dapo Abiodun's bedroom. Here comes another saga to prove to the whole world that Buruji Kashamu is really the man of the moment, and the true man of the people. Buruji Kashamu is a no doubt a great man. God is really with him... All his enemies will just keep trying but there will never be any victory for Buruji Kashamu's enemies.
