Lexus are more conservative with innovation especially in the engine area. They use "familiar" tech over there so you're likely to have stuff that is less likely to break and easy to fix it ever does. Unlike BMWs that bring out new engines that are plagued with novel issues, frustrating the average car guy.

This Lexus still uses a 1ur, naturally-aspirated V8 at a time when it's competitors (A8s, 7series, S-class etc) came pre-installed with forced induction power plants.

Go through the frequent complains across these cars and you would see that engine problems are the least of your worries with the 2005-2012 LS460. Not the same story for the other cars
