cos you're absolutely correct. heater will increase the humidity problem 10 times.


However, the heater element for the rear window does work in cases like this. but for the windshield, fan + window down a little can help too.

I use even fan during raining seasons and the glass is clear for me and us rear heater for my rear glass and those lines makes the glass clear also. What he would have said is that it might not be like that of AC, but saying it doesn't work at all is not correct.

Not true.....car heaters tend to add to the fogginess of the windshield when it's raining..putting on the car heater during rainfall will reduce visibility to near zero

After all the fogginess is caused by the fact that the external temperature is lower than the temperature inside the car leading to condensing on the inside of the windshield..

For a car without ac, get those car window flaps...I don't know what they are called tho...they are made of transparent plastic and are attached above the vehicle window glasses..

These stuff kinda allow you roll your window down a bit without having rain enter the car, thus allowing cold air to enter your car and balance the temperature inside, and clear your windscreen..

Try and fix your AC Sha...its defrosting function can't be over emphasised....nothing beats crystal clear visibility during heavy rainfall

If you can afford to follow the maintenance schedule (it's in the manual, change items when they reach stipulated mileage don't wait for them to spoil), use the recommended fluids and don't abuse the car, you should be fine.

Anything can be your first car as long as you can afford to get (and keep) it.

For the flood issue though, modern cars aren't good with that.

You cant go wrong with E350, i’ve had it for 3 years and the only major work i’ve done was to replace engine mounts. No suspension work has been done to date. Best car i’ve owned. But again, i dont live in a flooded area

Been planning to get the 2012/2013 Benz E350 next month. This will be my first car. I have a budget of 6-7m.

Not for heavy use, just commuting from home to work which is around the same VI axis.

I want it but I’m scared about potential maintenance costs and then periodic flooding since I live and work in VI. Don’t want to get something I’ll be scared to drive when it rains heavily.
