Thank you for the advice. She does update the series weekly, but recently I decided to check on webnovel terms, I have read tons of negative reviews online from reddit to Quora. I have asked her to stop updating the series, she will continue to write that series but offline for now . Dvea: I've left a reply on something similar. Your daughter will most likely do well with them if she is writing romance novels. But it's important to note that these sites operate nearly almost with a slave labour style.
Once she gets enough traction and gets a contract she will instantly lose rights to her work. Now the contract if she does get it, will be huge. I'm talking millions of naira. But the issue is, if it's a series which they prefer she'll have to write fir years. Dropping 1 chapter a week. If she fails to she can be sued. If she decides she is tired at backs down, she will be sued and made to pay back everything she has earned and more.
If she chooses to just post a finished work, she might not get a contract except of course it's like a really long book or she plans to get a serialised full book going.
Either way the requirements are really strenuous. For an adult, in Nigeria, I'd usually just encourage them to go on cause really the pay is crazy but for a 13 year old, she'll burn out quickly.
Try to find more local channels but the problem is they don't pay so well. |

Thank you for the advice. To correct your notion, I am not using her as a source of income, what I want to develop is her writing skills and broaden her knowledge in that area.More over she's in the sciences .She could study for hours. IbnB: Stop seeing her as a source of income already (that will come later)
Instead, broaden her reading habits by getting her books and enrol her in a formal literature program so that she can develop and grow.
She may be the next J.K Rowling....she can write background and plots for videogames, she can go into scriptwriting for T.V and movies, there are numerous avenues to monetize her talent but she has to grow first. You can be on the lookout for scriptwriting workshops (they do this periodically in Nollywood) but you need to protect her well because the entertainment industry is filled with sexual predators, paedophiles mostly.
But like I said earlier the emphasis is on growth at this stage. Money will come eventually. 1 Like |

The speed is far better than most Nigeria Telecom companies around here,in my own case I forced the service on two of our tenants each resident in a 1 bed apartment, I took 120k upfront from each of them and peg their speed to 2Mbps, still looking for More clients to do same for otis54: Yes Starlink is really giving us value for our money but the new price is quite high especially for those of us who mainly use it for just entertainment which is why I’m considering switching to airtel by this month end and since I already have the 5G router. I don’t have who to share the cost with otherwise, it would have been the best solution for me. I’m just going to miss the speed, reliability and top notch customer support of Starlink. Imagine Starlink sending a new replacement kit twice to me with a free one month subscription as compensation for the inconveniences experienced without charging a dime. Which Nigeria ISP can offer such a service |

I knew it all lies, right from when that post was released the tricks of the game is that, the government was targeting the harvest period usually around November/December.There will be temporary relief for the people because prices of grains will come down a little from the upward trend. Take for example a bag of beans was selling for around 350k, it has now come down to around 130k, now the middle men are mopping up this grains at that price of 130k, come few months time, you will begin to see outrageous prices of food stuff. The government must find a away to mop it by itself else middle men will continue to take advantage of it |

I had similar experience months ago about slow speed, they concluded either the cable or the router had issue, they sent me new router and cable free, few days later the speed came back to normal 170Mbps to 240 Mbps at night, I didn't replace them just kept them at home and it's over 8 months now Nonso92: UPDATE I reached out to starlink to complain about my slow Internet issue, and they concluded that my kit had a gps issue, that why my Internet has been poor. They sent over a new kit and even offered me one month free subscription. I just installed the new kit today and I have been monitoring the internet. Previously I was getting under 5mbps at every speed test, but now it's gone up to 20. I'm guessing there might be an update on the new kit, then the speed would improve. |

Politics › Nigerian Farmers Are Holding The Nation To A Ransom by confluence(op): 7:13am On Aug 06, 2024 |
Recently I watched on TVC news saying a basket of fresh tomatoes is selling for #40,000 in Lagos same basket of is selling for 38 to #40,000 here in Lokoja kogi state, looking at the distance between Lokoja and Lagos, for the fact that the same tomatoes were transported from the northern part of country to same Lokoja and Lagos, there should be massive price difference between the two locations. The so called local farmers are holding all of us to ransom using food as a weapon, the government need to wake up to address this food crisis before it will snowball out of control, open the borders let there be massive food importation to cut the excesses of our farmers and middle men. How can local rice with stones be selling at almost with imported rice that is stone Free |
