Penuelseun:Thank you very much. You've been a giant help |
Penuelseun:Okay so what you're saying is that my wiring should look like below: 150w panel -> 100a charge controller -> 12v 90AH battery -> 5v 10a DC to DC buck converter (connected directly to the battery) -> the 3 computers I have as loads? CAN THIS SETUP PROVIDE 5V 10A DURING THE DAY WITH GOOD SUN TO COMPENSATE FOR THE LOAD ON THE BATTERY WHILE ITBIS BEING RECHARGED BY THE SOLAR CONTROLLER? I am also contemplating buying two of the below items to use in the wiring setup : Pic 1. 12v automatic low power shut off to stop the battery from discharging past 50% of its capacity (45AH) for longevity of the battery. Pic 2. 12v to 5v 10a dc converter OR Pic 3. 5v 5a & 5v 3a Ubec step down converters (I will use the 5a for the bigger machine and the 3a for the remaining 2 machines)

Please can someone tell me the minimum power/wattage of solar panels that I can connect to a 100 amp pwm solar controller? I fear I have bought one that is too much for my needs. I want to power 3 devices 24/7 with my setup. I have the charge controller plus 1. Raspberry pi 5 pc drawing 5v 4a 2. Raspberry pi zero 2 drawing 5v 2a 3. Ethernet switch drawing 5v 1a I am not connecting anything else to the controller as load apart from the above 3 units. I have one 12v 90AH lead acid battery and one 3.2v 72AH CALB LifePo4 battery. I think I can't use the LifePo4 because I made the mistake of getting the pwm charge controller right? I just want to use one out of the two batteries for my setup for now and leave room to upgrade later but my next purchase will be a solar panel to power the setup although I need help to know the right size/power of panel(s) to buy that will power all three of my machines during the day comfortably and also recharge the battery for use during the night when the sun goes down. My plan is to connect the panel to the 100 amp controller, connect one of the batteries to the controller to recharge and use a step down/up buck converter to give me an output of 5v 10a max. Is tbis possible? |
Hi, I'm new here and need guidance. I have 3 computers which I need to keep running 24/7 because I'm using them as a server cluster. I have purchased a 100amp pwm solar charge controller and I have two batteries which I can use for this project. Details of my load and batteries are below. 1. Raspberry pi 5 drawing 5 volts 4 amps 2. Raspberry pi zero 2w drawing 5 volts 2 amps 3. Mini ethernet switch drawing 5 volts 1 amp 4. One single 12 volts 90 ah lead acid battery 5. One single 3.2 volts 72 ah CalB LifePo4 battery. Those are the items i have on hand right now along with the 100 amp pwm charge controller. Please I need to know the right size of solar panels that I can purchase and wire up which would be able to provide enough power to directly supply current to the three devices I have as loads above during the daytime and then be able to recharge any one of/both of the batteries I have to be able to power the loads during the night when the sun goes down. I am a complete novice in electrical matters but I am willing to learn. I do not have any cash right now to purchase an additional battery so I need to make do with the setup I have on hand right now and plan for an upgrade soon. I just have to purchase the right solar panel size and type to give me the juice I need to at least power my devices during the day and then I can depend on whatever my battery backup can give me at night for the time being. I am in Africa, we have good sunshine most of the day. All my devices arr rated at 5 volts max. I fear I bought an oversized pwm charge controller for my setup (100 amps) hence my worry that I might have to splurge on solar panels to feed such a hungry controller. My humble questions are thus, can I use a lower rated solar panel with the 100 amp controller? Is there a minimum wattage of panels that can be used on the 100 amp controller? Will it hurt the system if I under-feed the controller power from the panels? I don't think I have the cash to buy anything more than a 150 watt panel at the moment but I desperately need this system up and running one way or the other. Thanks all. I appreciate your advice. |

Omoapena:Eiiyah ![]() Donbrowser where are you? One full month nobody see your brake light on the forum . . . Why? I hope you are still with us in spirit sha, because many people that followed you to 'RoNu' from here are still with us in body ![]() |
neccki please where can ome fo to do medicalsnfor study visa to Poland? I went to Qlife but they don't do for Poland also IOM stated on their website that I need to have a certain information from the embassy before I can apply for medicals with them. Is there any other organisation that does medicals specifically for Poland? Thanks |
Lightmykpoli please where can one do medicals in nigeria to migrate to Poland for studies. I went to Qlife and they don't do for Poland. IOM says I need a reference from the embassy before I can do medicals on their website. Is there any specific medical organisation that offers medicals for migration to Poland apart from these two? |
LOZENGE:Your gearbox was driven for some miles while under severe starvation of lubrication I'm sorry, it will only get worse. Just fill up and never touch it again and watch its deterioration. It would get to a stage and then stabilise but I doubt it will ever function as it did before the unfortunate 'hose bursting' incident ![]() You'd have to manage it as it is so far as it still functions for your use. |
Glithronix:I drive oh, only I don't utilise any app to do so. Just keep doing YOU and allow them to keep doing THEMSELVES and the world will keep revolving as it should ![]() Enough respek 🙏 |
Omoapena:No no no, you didn't understand my post. Bad catalysts or O2 sensors are both symptoms of oil burn and not its cause Blackbishop already hinted at your valve seals (minor repair) as being the culprit. The other culprits could be bad cylinder walls (major repair) or pcv valve (easy replacement) |
Glithronix:Are you indirectly speaking to/or about me? ![]() See, learn to discern sarcasm and intent in vocabulary. It will help you. If you check properly without any bias whatsoever you'd realise that i am one of the people who advocate for the livelihood of this thread against all odds , most people say nothing or hide behind innuendos to make their own opinions known (you yourself do this) and it's okay 👍🏾 Anytime you see me here coming to post about 'this thread being dead' was only done to Ginjah people like you and others to keep posting if for no other reason at least just to prove me wrong . . . And for the most part it worked ![]() I have said it not once or twice here before that I respect you for always putting in the work right from when you joined us here till today and my view has never changed. Just calm down, relax and know who the real enemies of this thread are and you will get clarity on many levels. Other members have gained theirs even after attacking me here, its okay. I always knew they would come around. Time is the only factor but the truth always reveals itself. Much respect 🙏 |
Blackbishop:Good take. A vehicle shorting oil is not the end of its life or usefulness. Just do your cost valuation against management or repairs and take action. Like me today, I have oil shortage but due to bad leaks, my engine will need to be dropped for the repair which I don't have the time to do now or intend to do anytime soon (so as not to allow a mech add an issue to my issues) so I just keep topping up as necessary. I even travel very well with it, here to the east and back frequently. I just stop at Ore and top up a litre and it will be low again at my destination. That's how I mitigate its adverse effects during long distance trips. On a daily I top up a litre in like 700kms in my usual city drive. The fact is if its due to an oil burning issue, then the catalysts or O2 sensors can get bad quickly if it's not tackled on time. This is where I am lucky |

Will he zoom off? Or is he unaware of the scam? |
TheModerator:Have you yourself shown anybody proof of all the baseless accusations you have been making against members of this same thread? Off the top of my head I can mention at least 10 accusations against others here which you have made and up till this very moment you still have not shown any proof or even withdrawn such accusations ![]() I mean, you're holding up a mirror 🪞 drop it first and start requesting proofs of whatever you wish to make yourself feel good ![]() |
