I need to know if there is anybody here that still/uses DSTV Pace DVR500 decorder for KU Band.

I just got it with the card from somebody selling (i have already paid) it and i called DSTV customer care and they told me i can use it with KU Band but i want to ask and make sure i am not throwing away my money.

You can what DSTV channels with any kind of HITV decorder (cos i have the latest), be it the first set or latest ones.

They all can read DSTV Irdeto card, i have friends that now use it and i personally use it.

The only reason i am scared using both card on one decoder is the fact that with time, the decoder might have a problem because i am removing and re-inserting the two cards, that is the reason i am looking for a DSTV decorder to buy so then i will only use AV 1 and AV2.

You can buy MYTV card from any of their Dealer for N2000 - N2100 and as for DSTV card i called them last week and the Customer care Officer said i could buy the card from their VI office or some of their dealers for N10,000

I activated the DSTV card with the HITV Decorder.

My only problem now is the fact that i use a less than 90cm dish and because of that, some of DSTV transponders are for wider dish, i paid for Family Bonquet and i don't get Event Channel 1 & 2 and if i move my dish and my quality for HITv transponder is below 74%, some DSTV channels like Channel 0, MTV Base, African Magic etc wont be showing or will be breaking.

My problem still remain, i want to use two Access Card (DSTV & HITV simultaneously) on my decorder.

I just recently moved apartment, i left my former flat to another and had to fix my dish all over again, so it didnt take me time (like five minutes) and i had a connection to Eutelsat W4 again, with quality 74% and Signal Strength of 88% and now all the channels on DSTV is not showing in my decoder.

Another problem i have is that they information for programs dont show on my decorder, last night a friend of mine brought a new Strong decoder (465xx) he just bought and it was showing the program information and EPG, what could be wrong with my decoder? software?

Can anybody paste the latest software for HITV new decoder here for me to pick with flash drive?

I just paid N2,500 (Family) for my DSTV card, when i get home, i will see how it goes.

Another problem i would have loved to solve is: is there a device i can use on my decoder so that i will be able to use both my HITV card and DSTV card at the same time?

Trendtv needs to get serious o, even their website is not working, i have been interested in them even before the launch of HITV, meanwhile i dont know if they will still have the same payment method as before and some of those channels lik football club TVs. i like the concept of being free first sha.

I am so eager to get home and try it out, i hope my HITV decoder (new model) will show it. I have been waiting since i first got wind of it like two weeks ago.

Can anybody tell me how i can put another LNB on my current HITV dish and get MYtv Africa.

I want this because of some channels MyTvAfrica added recently, most especially their Arsenal TV.

If is not possible, does it mean i have to get another dish entire to be able to connect to MyTv Africa?

Infact i know know wether i dey pity HITV o, you know, imagine the money wey them dey burn, i just hope and pray for them sha.

They will definately need to rent another transponder, they need to have more content to get more subscribers.

You havent got the picture, what you have is a misinformed picture. Yes, HITV went to France to get broadband as you call it but MSDS as it is called, but you know the truth about that is it can take a lot of channels but it works more like GSM technology, HITV will have to build basestations, which obviously they have not started.

Another news about Eutelsat that you seem not to know is that even giant DSTV works with Eutelsat, most of their channels both for Nigeria, South Africa and the rest of AFrica is on Eutelsat, so no be HITV start am.

If you want to cover a large geographical area in a short while, satellite is your best bet and thats why HITV is on Eutelsat.

Maybe in another 5 years, the MSDS will be fully operational in Naija and by then, you can have up to 500 channels and HITv wont have to pay rental fees for the transponders they are using with Eutelsat.

Is not everybody's HITv that is scrambled, agreed they have a problem because mine will take lik 3 seconds before it shows any channel whenever i change from one channel to another, but the subscriber really having this problem is those that paid for one year subscription during their promo.

I thought they were planning on adding new channels, that is why they are having some kind of problems, we should believe in this people, even if it takes them three years to try and better their services, i will stick with them. Fine, i might subscribe to DSTV Family, but for HITV, na me and them till the end.

It didnt search them out, and the channels that are showing are not Free to Air as you say, because if i don't put in a valid DSTV card it wont show, it will say scrambled. You should know that no DSTV channel is Free, except you want to call Shuffle Channel a channel.

To solve my problem, i need to get a Strong decoder and loop my connection to it and it will work perfectly. I only want portability in the sense that i wanted just one decoder for the two connection.

Note: Strong Decoders work with DSTV card, i have said it before, they are lik Universal, they work as a Multi-Encryption device, thats why they sell in the market as a genral purpose decoders for all your satellite need.

you will be able to see when you swap cards, you remove HITV card and insert DSTV card and then you change sattelite from one to another (depending on the card inserted) and the decorder being more or less universal will read this card.

My decoder does that, but the only problem i have is just that all the channels are not complete.

Their is no blind scan on my menu, this decoder is pretty new and it has things lik Installation, Channel Manager, System Info, Customasatopm amd Parental Lock. Inside the Installation you find things like Sattelite Setup, Search Satellite, TP Settings and i think one more thing i cant remember cos i am at the office now.

If you can get me the frequency that you can use in getting the DSTV channels i will be grateful, but i pray is not this: 12207 - Frequency, 27500 Symbol Rate and 3/4.

It is not the traditional Strong decoder they started with, this is customised HITV decoder, with their name on the decoder and on it when you on it.

Meanwhile, mine can show the channels that the decoder searched out, cos i tried it with my friends smartcard (DSTV) that is workingand it showed.

If it is blind scan, where can i change that, because the installation menu of this new HITV decoder and Strong decoder are almost the same.

I think it is the manufacturer of Strong decoder that helped them manufacture this one.

In addition, i have used all their frequency and symbol rate i found in lyngsat, all of them except for one which is specifically for Nigeria didnt work and even before i visited lyngsat, ihave gotten that from my friends DSTV decoder.

I am using the new HITV Decoder (their customised), and i want to subscribe to DSTV Family (i have their smartcard), but i can only get 11 channels of DSTV which include nigeria local stations and SS3 and QQRTV. apart from these eleven channels, my decoder is not showing the rest at all (not scrambled oo). They are not even in the channel list and i want to subscribe because of the entertainment of DSTV, is there anybody that can help on what i can do for these channels to show.

I found out in the other thread about Free to Air TV that Trend Nollywood is moving from NSS907 to Eutelsat W4 the same satellite with DSTV and HITV.

Why is this so? You may ask. Anyway, it has been deduced that since most peopple have DSTV and some other people HITV sha, it will be better for them to reposition themselves (i.e. Trend TV) in the market by first coming out free withTrend Hollywood and 13 other channels for people to see their strength, then start charging fees later.

It will be available from end of January, their Frequency and Symbol rates are: 11747 and 27500 respectively.

The same thing with mine too, all the Hitv Channels went scrambled, but i am not bothering myself, weekend still far for football matches to come, i know they will solve it before then.

It doesnt run SQL 2005 because it says it require service pack 2 which is suppose to b for Windows XP not Windows Vista.

Anyway, i am looking for a way to get SQL 2008 or Visual Studio 2008.

Finally o, i got it on Friday morning, in its pack, clean like nothing i have experienced before (Laptop wise).

This laptop is a machine, anyway, it is really give me the extra edge with my Web Developer and Programming, but the only negative is the fact that my SQL is not working on Windows Vista.
