femmy2010:Well said Femmy2010, everyone desiring to make money should look into himself/herself and then look at the environment before choosing a business idea. |
Each time i hear the story of those who have made it online, i observe a variation in each of the stories. While some say all you need to make money is money, others say money is not an important factor. Some say all you need is a good idea, others say persistence and rest say courage. So i am throwing this open to the house. What do you think is the most important thing you need to make money. |
I am an entrepreneur, investor and most importantly a patriotic Nigerian. I surf the web a lot and whenever i spot a hot buzz or trend, i bring it down to Nairaland. There was a strong argument between my league of friends and the subject of argument was this: If you had the option to choose between money, power, love or fame, which one will you go for? This question caused a division amongst my friends. Those who chose money cited examples such as: Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Dangote, Carlos Slim Helu, Femi Otedola and others. Those who chose power backed up their stance with examples such as: OBJ, IBB, Chris Uba, Lamidi Adedibu, Vldamir Putin of Russia, George Bush of U.S, etc. Those who seek fame used Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, The Pope, Tiger Woods, Serena and Venus Williams as a stand point. And lastly, those who said love was the ultimate used stories from the Bible, Titanic, Romeo and Juliet, etc. If you were given the same option, will you go for money, power, love or fame? Please everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. No attack, flare or criticism. To get the ball rolling, i will start from myself. If i were given this option, to be sincere with you; i will go for money. The remaining three can wait. What about you, which one will you go for? Money, power, love or fame. |
@poster, if u finally decide on what to do with your N40,000 please let the house know. |

occam:Piling your money in a bank in the name of saving is a foolish idea. In the next 3 years, inflation will reduce the value. In fact, i don't pile up cash in the bank, i move most of my cash into my businesses and investments. Before i go, let me ask, how much interest can you get on your savings compared to the inflation rate? My advice to you is to start with what you have and you will find the rest along the way. Cheers |

For Nigeria to be better, our youths should believe in themselves. They should increase their financial intelligence and get creative. They should stop looking on the government. Only then will Nigeria be better. |
Let me drop a 2010 business advice, building a business whether online or offline requires you go through the entrepreneurial process. This process is challenging and tough but if you persevere, you'll build the business of your dreams. |
Sir Neyo, i'm sorry to say but you sound like a pessimist. I bet you are just an employee that lacks guts to start a business. |
