Please Gazzuzz, I have an issue with my Toyota RAV4 2004. I was going out some 9 days ago when it suddenly stopped. When you start it, it starts but will not raise well. The first mechanic I called said it was wiring problem, that may be one fuze must have cut. He worked on it without success. Later he said it might be fuel pump. We bought various type of pump, the same problem. I later towed it from the place when they started dismantling it. The new place that was recommended to me, they checked, change nuzzle, this and that. The motor will start but will not raise well. Now, they claimed it has to be brain box issue, that I have to change it. However, I am doubting then, since it seems they are doing trial and error troubleshooting. Someone now recommends you to me. Please, how can you be of assistance. The car is presently at Mechanic village, Agidingbi by Zenith Bank. Thanks, Gazzuzz |
GAZZUZZ:Good morning, Gazzuzz. Please I need to get across to you. I have an issue with my Toyota RAV4 and you have been recommended to me, please. How do I contact you, please? |
Mr. Ochereome Nnanna, Chairman Editorial Board of the Vanguard newspapers, has described the Yorubas as "sophisticated morons". Nnanna made this assertion in his reply to a post on Facebook. Areh Sunday, a journalist and an aide to Delta State Governor, while reacting to President Muhammadu Buhari's declaration of June 12 as Democracy day on Thursday had gone to his Facebook page to express his disappointment in Yorubas for falling for the antics of the government of the day. He posted: "I use to think the South-West was very sophisticated. I was wrong. They are the most gullible. They fall for every poisoned carrot dangled before them" Reacting to the post, Nnanna wrote: "Sophisticated morons, more like" This comment would not have elicited any reaction from me but for the fact that it was coming from the Chairman of the editorial board of one of the reputable newspaper houses in the country. A man of his status is expected to conduct himself in a respectful and responsible manner consistent with his function as an opinion-molder in the society. Each and every newspaper is incomplete without the editorial section. They (editorials) are believed to be the heart and soul of newspapers. They display the values and policies of a newspaper and influence policy decisions. A member of editorial board is expected to be matured, experienced, intelligent and well-informed. He must rise above politics, tribal and religion partisanship. An editorial member should be able to explain all the aspect of any issue in relating with past events, presents scenario and future prospectus. This is not the case with Nnanna as seen in this circumstance. If this is the opinion of the Chairman of the editorial board of a national newspaper about Yorubas therefore, one should not be surprised about the view and news policies of Vanguard newspapers about the race. It is my hope that Vanguard newspapers will caution Nnanna and apologise to the Yorubas for the embarrassment he has caused them. Wale OLAYANJU

By Wálé Ọláyanjú During the new year's eve service at his church, the Serving Overseer of The Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare declared that God had instructed him to return to politics to lead the nation to prosperity. Said he: “I heard the Lord say to me, politics is not over for you, there is still one thing left for you to do; run for president. And He said to me, I will work it out myself. I will make it happen in due course. Please trust me, I lie not in the Holy Ghost." This declaration by the fiery tele-evangelist has since generated a myriad of comments and speculative interpretations. While some applauded the move, others believe he must be living in a fool's paradise. There are some who likened his declaration to dropping God's name, advising him to differentiate his desire from vision. Last Sunday, the pastor addressed the controversy saying his declaration has not indicated that he is running for any election. He said: "I’m indeed running but not for elections; it is a race of destiny and the destination is certain. The method by which God intend to do it is up to Him. I am neither flagging off an election campaign nor building political alliances." I am not an exponent of the touch-not-mine-anointed mantra as is presently interpreted and brandished. However, I am mindful of what I say to pastor's "God says". I believe it will be ignorant and arrogant of anyone to dispute him when you are not there when God was "talking" to him. Secondly, I think a genuine pastor should understand the consequence of thus-saith-the-Lord, especially when God has not spoken. Those around will remember the infamous "Bush will win" prediction on Frank Olize's NTA Newsline in 1992. As global attention focused on the impassioned US elections, NTA crew had visited Theophilus Olabayo to reveal to Nigerians who would win the November 3 election between incumbent Republican President George Bush and Democratic Governor Bill Clinton of Arkansas. Olabayo, the sought-after Prophet Elijah of the time is the founder and primate of the Evangelical Church of Yahweh Worldwide. The confident and ebulient Olabayo had faced the camera and declared that Bush would win, convincingly. When the election results came out, not only did Clinton trounced Bush in the popular and electoral votes, he won in 32 states including Washington DC. During the crossover service of his Adoration Ministry on the eve of 2015, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka prophesised the end of Jonathan’s era. In a message entitled "From Good Luck to Bad Luck", the outspoken Catholic cleric told his congregation that God had directed him to inform them not to support Jonathan because "Goodluck Jonathan has become badluck". The rest, as they say, is now history. Prophecy is time bound. So whether a prophecy is fake or genuine, time will prove. Joseph was an important figure in the Bible. A young man with a tall dream, he had told his brethren that there would come a day when all would bow down before him. This dream got him into trouble and he was sold as a slave to Egypt. He later became the Prime Minister of Egypt- a nation he was not even a citizen- and God used him to save the nation by carrying out the economic reforms needed to prevent the looming disasters. This story emphasizes how God works in His own way, especially when He wants to intervene in a precarious situation like ours. Pastor Bakare is eligible and competent to rule Nigeria and if God has chosen him to lead the nation to prosperity, I will be glad to pray for him. How a Moses emerge in a country that needs breakthrough should be less of our concern, especially when military and politicians have failed us. The time has come for everyone of us to take interest in how this country is being governed. If the righteous and competent run away from politics, we will continued to be ruled by vagabonds and incompetents. In politics, winning is not the only reason why people contest. If we want to increase political competition at all levels, competent people should be encouraged to consider contesting, rather than discouraging them. That God has told Pastor Chris Okotie to contest and he has lost twice does not mean he has failed. It also does not mean that the prophesy was fake. When God asks you to run, it does not mean you will win the first time. Abraham Lincoln ran for elective offices five times and lost. He only won on his sixth attempt. Ronald Reagan won on his third attempt. President Muhammadu Buhari contested presidential election on four different occasions before he won. Joseph saw his dream at the age of seventeen but he did not become the Prime Minister until he was thirty. The thirteen year interval was there to try his faith in God and to prepare him for the job ahead. So, if God has indeed told anyone to contest, it does not matter the number of time he has contested, as long as s/he is still alive, the prophesy subsists. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry (Habakkuk 2:3). Yes, we should pray for the country, but more importantly we must develop interest and take part in politics. It is not only your civic responsibility, it is spiritual. All our prayers and rantings on social media will achieve nothing except we have the righteous in power. In about thirteen months, another general election will be held. We must participate and change any government that has not delivered on its promises. This is not the time to say your vote does not count. It is the little drops of water that make the mighty ocean. Remember RSVP. Register. Select. Vote. Protect. If you have not registered, you can do it now. If you have relocated since you last registered, you can visit any INEC offices and transfer your PVC details. We shall vote for candidates of our choice and we shall protect our votes. It shall be well with Nigeria. https://www.facebook.com/WaleAFRICANA/posts/10156051159967840 |

You are not dying because of medical problems.... ....YOU ARE DYING BECAUSE OF SELF MEDICATION |
That we sit down and talk may not necessarily lead to division. The fact is we can not progress with the way the country is presently structured. Even if Nigeria will still remain one, it must be based on terms and conditions, agreed to by all stakeholders. Or what do you say Lalasticlala, Seun ? |
By Wale Olayanju The threats, tensions, ultimatums and counter-ultimatums ocassioned by the sit-at-home order declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are a pointer to the fact that the time has come for all stakeholders in the Nigerian project to sit down and discuss the continued existence of this nation. As if the Monday's declaration of fatwah to the Igbos by those grandfathers masquerading as representatives of Northern youth is not enough, another group, this time from the South South has come out with a counter-fatwah. The sophomoric group which calls itself Rondel Solidarity Movement (RSM) claims to represent the Region of the Niger Delta (Rondel). Just like the IPOB, MASSOB, OPC, Ohanaeze, Afenifere and Ijaw Youth, their demand is unambigious- self determination. Though a patriot, I have no doubt in my mind that this country needs restructuring more than ever before. Most, if not all, of the problems we are facing today are located in the way it is structured. Is it not worrisome that despite the abundance of resources at our disposal, starvation, hunger and poverty have been our lot? Or how do we rationalise the fact that those who are qualified to run the nation have been pushed to the background because they belong to the 5% group? Why is it that those who enter the unity school with two marks are more qualified when it comes to appointments? Is it by design or by con-incidence that since 1979 no one is qualified enough from a section of the country to be considered as minister of the Federal Capital? Are we not in deep sh*t when governors say they can only pay salaries when another Paris Club fund is released? Is governance now about how to consume and not about how to produce? Every month, governors go cap in hand to Abuja like beggars to go and share the nation’s resources. That is not federalism but a unitary system of government. Federalism allows every state to develop at their own pace. Omo to ba sipa ni iya e ngbe. It is not federalism when you take the resource of a state to Abuja and share it with others, whether they contribute or not. I am sure when the current administration was coming to power, they were very sincere and optimistic to turn things around. However, like a warrior who was going to war and was only thinking of how he will kill and come back with loots, they have now seen that this nation is not as easy to govern as envisaged. Or how else do you want to score the administration when the national leader of the ruling party laid off 30% of staff of his media house in one fell swoop? It is not about tribe or religion. It is not about party or affliation. We have good people in all tribes, in all religions and in all parties. It is about the structure. Nigeria as presently structured is a deeply flawed nation. No party/government can get it right until we go back to the drawing board. An attempt to pretend that everything is okay is like sitting on a keg of gunpowder and, as Chido Onumah puts it, it may result in our “country sleepwalking to disaster.” The reason for the agitations for Biafra 50 years ago is still the same today. It is the need to manage the Nigerian state in line with the protocols of a federal state. "Biafrans" want a country where every part would be fully involved and the future generation would have a country they can be proud of. This sentiment is not shared by them alone. It is a clarion call every good Nigerian should join. We are all Biafrans! By the way, have the police arrested those "youths" behind Igbo quit notice or is their notice not treasonable enough? Sorry, I forgot they belong to the first class citizens of the country. |
