as Niyi said, you are wasting energy, leaving your standalone battery charger connected to the inverter when phcn/grid is off..

the increased run time you appear to be getting from your battery, implies that your inverter isnt charging the battery properly, that the addition of the charger is ensuring the battery is charged better and faster. for example if your battery is 200ah, and you used 120ah from it, so theoritically you have 80ah remaining, if you inverter out puts 8ah, then you need 10hrs to refill the battery [in real life its more like 12 hrs, due to losses/inefficiencies], but if you standalone charger is kicking in 12amps, plus the 8amps from the inverter, then you need only 4hrs to charge the battery full......

knowing the epileptic nature of phcn, this combo charging is better and will ensure your battery gets a decent charge for the few hours that phcn/grid is available.

the 2nd possibility is charge voltage, your inverter may not be outputting the correct charge voltage that your battery needs, while its the standalone that is giving it that voltage, example Quanta spec is 13.8v absorb voltage, while kung long battery says 14.8v for absorbtion, most cheap 12v inverter, luminous,mecury etc, only send out 14.4v max at absorption, so unless you have an inverter with editable charge voltage settings, your batts will always be undercharged

You are simply wasting energy at the part where you are trying to charge the battery by powering a charger from the AC output of an inverter connected to thesame battery.

In a no grid or gen situation, the amount of energy stored in a battery is fixed. It cannot be increased except from an external source. So trying to feed a charger off the battery to charge the same battery you are wasting energy due to the following.

1) Charge efficiency - On average a lead acid battery needs 20% more energy put in to replace what was consumed. You take out 100Ah you need to put back at least 120Ah for a full charge. Lithium packs may approach nearly perfect charge efficiency.

2) Losses in DC to AC conversion between battery and inverter then AC to DC conversion between charger and battery - all these amplified by a factor of 1.2 at least as I said above.

Try an experiment to help you.

Without grid and your battery fully charged, run a fixed load with your loop arrangement and see how long the battery lasts before cutoff

Round 2, ensure battery fully charged as before then disconnect the external charger - run thesame fixed loads and see how long the battery lasts before cutoff.

1. You can connect your proposed battery charger to the DC bus

The bus bar on the left carries the batteries, then all your dc loads (Inverter(s), CC, "your proposed dc charger" etc) are on the right bus bar.

2. Yes, you can connect a different DC source to the charge controller PV input to deceive it. As long as you don't exceed its maximum input current limit and voltage.

Whatever you want to do, do not connect any form of charging source apart from solar panels to the solar panel input of a charge controller.

The charge controller is for panels, not for AC chargers. You can't even connect wind turbine generator to the terminal except manufacturer's specification says the charge controller also supports wind power input.

Sorry I didn't clearly state my charger spec. For better understanding, I meant an equivalent AC-DC ordinary battery charger.. The reason is to have a semi self charging system... This is just a way to try deceiving the mppt but surely other variables like temp, etc will not display figures on this mppt (i sure don't care... Lol)

The solar input terminal does not "allow two way flow" as you think. Rather the design is to prevent current flow in the reverse direction from the battery going back into the solar panel at night. This has two benefits: it prevents parasitic drain from the batteries into the panels at night and it also protects the solar panels from damage that may result from that.

The load terminals of a charge controller also has reverse protection, especially the premium ones, and usually supports the max current of the CC itself, that is a 60A charge controller may support loads up to 60A on the loads terminals. That notwithstanding, it is not usually used for inverter loads. It's just for light loads like DC appliances like your DC bulbs, modems, chargers etc. So discard the idea of hooking your inverter onto the load terminal of your CC. Rather connect it directly to your battery terminals.

Thanks for this info. I was thinking to make the mppt be able to control the source of change of the battery since my type of inverter also has a charge system.

What I want to do is such that the charger is connected to the normal home sucket, so as the inverter/grid/Gen powers the house, the battery is charging but the mppt shld be able to stop current into the battery at full capacity while the inverter AC source is only from grid such that when grid is on, the inverter gets power which means it starts sending charge to the battery via the mppt but at such time too, the charging sends current too but it controls which current passes through to the battery just same way if the solar and grid were to be on.

But am glad u mentioned that the inverter shld be on the batteries direct. In this case, my worry will now be how to control which device charges the battery. But again, on a normal scenerio, with solar coming via mppt and inverter(with charging system) connected to the battery direct, then the mppt should know when the inverter is giving to the battery and when it's taking from the battery right?

I guess you intend to type 480 watt-hour (12v 40 ah) battery and I'll wager it's those blue coloured lithium types. If I'm correct, you should get the functions of the four terminal wires correctly (2 input and 2 output) wires... .

yes only one camera works at a time....i tried my own...the normal camera is the middle one, then when i switched for far shots, only the bottom one is active... I'm guessing the first one is not a camera....nothing changes when i cover it with a finger.

Scammers are now using the “Date of Birth” Lies to Scam innocent citizens.

Once they have your account number, they can proceed to hack the systems and get your BVN, and from there, they can get your name, address, date of birth, and so on.

And every information you ask of them as confirmation, they will just give it to you, so that you would think that they are genuine.

On Thursday around 4:45pm, one Adebola called me with an ordinary number instead of the usual 0700-300-0000 that Access Bank usually call people with.

He said that he is calling me from the Access Bank Headquarters. He mentioned my correct name for me, and I concurred.

He then went ahead to tell me that the date of birth on my “account” in Access Bank is different from the DOB in my BVN (But I have more than one accounts with Access Bank, so he didn't specify which account he was referring to). He then told me that he needed to know which one out of the two dates are correct so he can correct it.

I asked him to break everything down with figures. He called out my correct DOB and said that it was the DOB on my Access Bank Account. He then called the same DOB and changed the year of birth, and said that it was the DOB on my BVN.

Habbaa!!.
I asked him to explain to me how that could ever be possible. He said that maybe the person that was entering the values made the typo error while feeding my information into the system.
He then told me not to worry, that they can correct it directly from the head-office, that a code will be sent to me to confirm that I am the one, so as to give them permission to....

I cut in immediately telling him that I will go to my bank first thing on Friday morning to rectify it.
He asked me “what sir?”, and I repeated myself again.
He dropped the call immediately.

I went to my bank on Friday to rectify the said error in the DOB, but got disappointed to discover that there was no error on the DOB.
In fact, every single information on my BVN-Page was correct.

The officer that attended to me at the bank told me that I did the right thing by coming to the bank.

That's the number that called me, and that is his name on Truecaller. (In the picture attached)
But he came across to me as Adebola.
The number is registered with fake information, just for the sake of fraud.
