drumstick: Good Job ISIS. All the damned christian souls in the caliphate land have three options 1. Embrace Islam 2. Keep their religion but pay Jizya 3. Face the sword(War) . I will implore ISIS not to overstep the boundries set up by Allah. Also increase da'awa to the infidels maybe they might see the truth of the message of islam. Go on and continue to revive the glorious islamic caliphate that fed the whole world with knowledge, Sunnah, Order and Justice. The unbelievers hate it, they despise it, they are full of venom seeing an islamic caliphate coming into existence again, However there is nothing they can do about it. Let us hold firmly to the Quran and sunnah.A Muslim woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says: “That’s the ugliest baby that I’ve ever seen. Ugh!” The woman goes to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her: “The driver just insulted me!” The man says: “You go right up there and tell him off – go ahead, I’ll hold your monkey for you.” |
The bank robbery incident which occurred on Thursday evening in Modakeke, Osun State, claimed no fewer than 10 lives.http://www.punchng.com/news/two-bank-workers-eight-others-die-in-modakeke-robbery/ |
It is a welcome development that Arewa leaders in Lagos have risen in condemnation of BH.The war against terror is everybody’s business and should be tackled headlong. But then something puzzles me.Why did the Arewa condemn residents’ registration in Imọ only to embrace the same policy in Lagos? Is it the case of IGBOPHOBIA? |
The Arewa community in Lagos on Sunday said that they would neither aid nor tolerate any terrorist activities in Lagos. In a statement issued in Lagos by the Chairman, Council of Arewa Chiefs and the leader of the Hausas in Lagos, Alhaji Sani Kabir, the group assured that ” the Arewa community will neither hide nor aid terrorists in any way”. It also condemned the activities of the Boko Haram sect, saying that their activities do not represent the teachings of Islam. “Nigeria is facing challenges that is unprecedented in our recent history perpetrated by terrorists disguising as a religious group. “We have enjoyed peace in Lagos and for that reason, we are sensitising our people on the need to maintain peace and to be security conscious. https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Apapa-Bomb-Blast.jpg “We have also directed all our Imams to consistently intensify the message of peace among the community. We have also directed that people should not be allowed to sleep in mosques and other places designated for worship” the statement said. The group also said that its leadership had instructed its members against sleeping or camping under the bridge or indiscriminate parking of vehicles along major highways. It, however, urged its members in Lagos to participate in the proposed government’s registration of residents. “We believe that these measures will further strengthen the bond of friendship among other ethnic groups in Lagos,” it further said. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/07/13/we-will-not-aid-terrorism-in-lagos-arewa/ |
This people is sick in the head |
Muyideen Salaam, a 35 year-old apprentice at Aketegbo community in Seme, Badagry area of Lagos, gave this chilling confession of how he killed a 13 year-old boy, Rilwan Amuda, in his crave for materialism. The Ibadan-born suspect claimed he was tempted to opt for money ritual after his wife left with their two children when feeding became an uphill task for him. According to him: “ I was alone in the video shop club owned by my master when one of my friends named Nuru came and said he knew someone who could make us rich . He told me all that was needed was just the blood of a boy of about 15 years of age. He said all I needed to do was to get the person since he had already contacted a herbalist. In my desperation, I told him we would take Rilawan, mama elewa’s son since I had easy access to him because he usually ran errands for me and sometimes I gave him money and used closthes. We felt it was useless to go out and get someone else since Rilawan stayed in the same area with us. I made him understand that getting someone was not the problem but taking him to the herbalist’s shrine where he would be killed. https://dvsl3w2q45hb8.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Ritual.jpg When we told baba our constraint, he gave Nuru a ring and instructed us to just touch whoever we wanted to bring with it , that the person would follow us without hesitation. On that fateful day, I called Rilwan and touched him with the ring . To my surprise, he became dumb and followed us to the shrine. We kept him there until it was dark . When it was midnight and there was no one in sight, we took him away from the shrine and laid him on the ground. While Nuru slashed his throat with a knife given to us by the herbalist, I held a bowl close to his neck for the blood to pour into it. Rilwan did not put up any resistance as promised by baba because he was hypnotized. And his memory was gone. After we collected the blood, we gave the bowl to baba and carried Rilawan’s body far away from the shrine to avoid suspicion and dumped it on the expressway so as to give an impression that he was hit by a vehicle. We thereafter, went to bath with the blood as instructed by baba. He performed some rituals fore us and mixed the blood with a black native soap and gave us to bath with after which he said we would become rich. But after bathing with the substance, by the third day, we did not see any money as promised by baba. We were as poor as we used to be . We were so angry and decided to go to baba’s place to fight with him. But on our way, Rilwan’s mother held me and asked me to produce his son for him. She said she was informed that he was last seen with me. She vehemently refused to let go of my trouser even when I denied. This caused a scene and people gathered around me and started beating me. Nuru who was with me managed to escape. Policemen from Seme division came and took me away. It was at that moment I opened up. But Nuru who lured me into it is nowhere to be found . I am left to bear the brunt alone . If I had known, I would have continued working for my master where I was paid N1,500 every month. The most painful aspect is that I do not have a mother, father, sister or brother. I am just all alone in the world. I do not want to die even though I partook in killing somebody “, he said in an emotional laden tone. After his arrest, policemen reportedly took him to the herbalist shrine where the suspect showed them the bowl that was used to drain Rilwan’s blood. The herbalist identified as Soji Akodiya did not deny demanding for a human blood from Muyideen and his fleeing friend but he stated that the killing never took place in his shrine. Out of curiosity , this reporter was forced to ask why he looked so haggard and tattered when he could make money to take care of himself. In response,he looked at the reporter , smiled sheepishly and said, “you will not understand” Continuing he said : “ Yes, I told them what they needed for money ritual was human blood. Because money ritual is one of the greatest tasks in our line. I told them they could either use their own blood for it but I believe they never wanted to and brought that of the boy. I was not around when the boy was slaughtered . I did not even know when they brought him. He was not even killed in my shrine….” But Muyideen interrupted saying “It is a lie. You knew when we brought him. It was even you that gave us knife and a bowl to put the blood. You even told us not to kill him in your shrine for security purpose and you were aware we were going to kill him that night”. But the herbalist ignored the interjection and continued “ I am a herbalist who speacialise in attending to barren women. I also help people to get jobs and also give charms to traders to sell more than their fellow traders. I collect, N50 to N500 , depending on what the oracle demands. It is then left for my clients to appreciate me. I got money ritual charm from a colleague ten years ago when all herbalists went for a meeting in Ijebu-ode . Usually, what we do at such meeting is to help ourselves. For instance, if I have the cure for any disease and others do not, I will give to them and vice visa. That was how the baba gave all of us ogun owo (money ritual charm)and instructed us on how to administer to our clients . I have never used it before, this is my first time. It was even when Nuru came to me that I realised I had the charm”. Asked why it did work for the suspect and his fleeing partner in crime, the herbalist relied “ it did not work because they did not follow my instruction. The instruction was to bathe with the prepared concoction nine days after its preparation but they used it on the third day. Had they followed the instruction, they would have noticed a total turn around in whatever they set their hands to do . Their businesses would have been lucrative . And if they leave N1000 in the bag, they would wake up to meet triple of what was there”. Mystics. Pure mystics. It’s unbelievable the extent many go to get rich. There are the politicians who believe that charms can make them powerful and transport them into powerful positions. Even when the efficacy of these rituals is in doubt, some people still believe that rituals can change their lives for the better. Evil men continue to chase their shadows. One thing is clear. Evil begets evil. There’s a price for every bad thing. Those who indulge in these primitive and devilish tendencies never end up well. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/07/killed-drained-teenagers-blood-money-ritual-suspect/ |
Being a student, I know full well the painstaking challenge in decorating an apartment or dorm room. Finding affordable yet nice looking items is hard, but it is doable. Have a transformer (sleeper) couch In a student/bachelor apartment, it is challenging to make use of and optimise as much space as possible. With a sleeper couch, you can save on space and money, as there will be no need in getting an extra piece of furniture. As long as the couch is comfortable, you can sleep away! Personalise your walls Brighten up those dreary walls by using disposable hooks to place your memories on your walls. Use your pictures to make your living space personal and save on wallpaper. Your pictures will make the space more your own and will be a good conversation-starter at your housewarming party. Tour second-hand shops Second-hand furniture shops are filled with eclectic and retro pieces. The furniture at these shops is also much more affordable than new furniture. You can buy vintage pieces that show off your decorating skills without breaking the bank. Get reversible sleeping accessories Reversible duvets and comforters save you the time and money in repeatedly changing your sleep accessories. Also, if chosen well, these items can be trendy and fun! |

Ambassador Rufus Akeju, Osun state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), has been requested to proceed on leave of absence – for his own safety and as his contribution to ensuring the credibility of the state governorship election scheduled for 9 August 2014. The action taken by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) came hours after it had been widely reported that he has not been removed or redeployed. In a statement issued by Kayode Robert Idowu, Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega, Akeju was requested by the Commission to step aside against the backdrop of intense partisan acrimony over his person. “He acceded to the request, knowing the effort being invested by INEC to make the Osun governorship election free, fair and credible. He has not been indicted for any offence, and the appeal by INEC for a stay of execution of the interlocutory order restraining the Commission from recognising him as Osun REC still subsist”. The statement further read that, “For avoidance of doubt, Ambassador Rufus Akeju remains INEC’s substantive Resident Electoral Commissioner for Osun State. But another Resident Electoral Commissioner will hold fort for the period that Akeju will be away on his leave of absence.” “The Commission hereby reaffirms commitment to spare no effort in ensuring that the upcoming Osun state governorship election is successful, and that it meets the best possible standard of credibility. It urges all other stakeholders to join in this commitment,” the statement read. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/07/04/inec-sends-osun-rec-on-compulsory-leave/ |
https://sunnewsonline.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Uzomah-702x336.jpg Up to the year 2002, Ekiti State had no single eatery. Residents were longing for one but no one wanted to invest in the business, probably because of the belief that Ekiti people love pounded yam so much that no food business outside this could fly. It was in that year that Prince Nathaniel Uzomah decided to plunge into the murky waters of eatery business in the state. However, in going into the business, he failed to observe business rule number one, which is, know the business that you want to go into like you know the back of your palm before you dabble into it. He went into the business as a novice and had his initial investment burnt. But as somebody who believes that failure is nothing but a sour taste that only needs to be sweetened to turn it into a success, he hung on and today, Prince and Princess Eatery has become the number one food and drink centre in Ekiti State in particular and the other neighbouring states in general. According to Uzoma, it was after he had gone into the business and made a success of it that others such as Mr Biggs, Tantalizers etc gained the confidence to venture into the state. “I want to say that I broke the jinx that Ekiti people would not patronize eatery centres because of their love for pounded yam. It was after I had established Prince and Princess Eatery which was the first in the state and made it a success that Mr Biggs,Tantalizers and the other eateries began to come in. In this interview, he spoke on the challenges of pioneering an eatery business, how to make money from it, his management style and other issues. Excerpts My name is Prince Nathaniel Uzomah, managing director of Prince and Princess Eatery which is located in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. Apart from the eatery business, I have a construction company and also deal in plumping materials.I came to the old Ondo State in September,1996 as a contractor and in October of the same year, Ekiti State was carved out of Ondo State and the area that I was living fell into the new state. From that 1996 to 2002, there was no single eatery in Ekiti State as a whole. The residents were longing for it because when they go to other states such as Lagos and Oyo, they would see eateries but back home, nothing like that existed. When I inquired, I was told that Ekiti people love pounded yam so much and as such any food business outside the normal restaurant would not fly I decided to plunge into the business, knowing full well that business, like life, is all about risk.I saw the lack of eatery centre in the state as a very big gap and I decided to fill it. Setting up Prince and Princess Eatery As I said, the reason why I set up Prince and Princess Eatery was to fill a gap, I told myself that I would try an eatery and see for myself since Ekiti people do not eat much of other foods except pounded yam, I decided going into the business, even though there was already doubt in the minds of the people concerning such a business, I had to start in a very big way but in doing that, I did an overkill. For instance, I bought a 100 KVA generator which was by far higher than the equipment that I have in the place.I also bought an ice cream making machine that cost more than N2 million then which nobody could operate and it was damaged even before we started the business. Initial challenges The initial challenges that I encountered when I started the business in 2002 was legion. You know, to start something new is usually difficult. Being the pioneer eatery centre in the state, we did not have people with experience to hire. It was trial and error because the management staff then were all novice in the business and I paid dearly for it. As I said earlier, the ice cream making machine that I bought never made ice cream for one day because nobody could operate it. The 100 KVA that I bought was higher than the equipment that it was meant to power so I abandoned it and bought a lesser one. Another challenge was that I left the business for the team to run while I was running the other of my businesses. Because of my absence, they were behaving as they like and before I realized what was happening, the business was going into liquidation. Initial response from Ekiti people When Prince and Princess came on board, there was joy everywhere in the state because that was what they had been longing for. They were asking themselves, this thing that we see in Ibadan, Lagos and other places, when would it come to Ekiti but nobody had the guts to go into it. When I eventually plunged into what I felt then was murky waters, a lot of people were very happy. Even people from Ondo town and Akure were coming there every Saturday and Sunday to relax and enjoy themselves. We started with pastry foods like doughnuts, meat pies, fish rolls, burger, ice cream and others. Later, somebody advised me to make it departmental and introduce beer section. Thank God that I still had empty space where Prince and Princess was located, so I added the beer section with the things that go with it like goat head, ox tail, grilled meat, pepper soup, fish pepper soup and all that and that even became the hit. Again, some weekends, we would invite live bands to play. The response was massive and made Prince and Princess the place to be in Ekiti. Mind you, there was nothing like that before it. How to make money in eatery business Food business, though very ordinary is very lucrative. It is a business that you cannot fail. Remember the saying, “man must whack”. The reason for this is because food is the first basic need of man. Before you think of buying a car, you must first of all satisfy the need of your stomach. Before you think of building a house, you must first of all have food in your stomach. Even before you think of buying clothes to cover your unclothedness, you must have food in your stomach, which will give you the energy to wear the clothes. That is why I said that food business is the best business in the world. However, it is not the kind of business you spend money recklessly on. We make money through repeated patronage. The more people patronize your eatery, the more money you would make.So I can say that the business, like most other businesses, is customer based. The more the customer, the more the money. However, it is not the amount you make that determines how rich you are but the amount you are able to save and plough back into the business for expansion and growth. Money comes very easy in the business depending on the level of patronage one has but it is not a business you spend money recklessly. You must know the difference between gross and net profit and the things that your customers need at any point in time.If one is in a very good location and is prudent in spending, he would make money in eatery business Our edge in the business. I want to say that what has given us edge in the business is the adage which says that wine tastes better with age. The saying is applicable to Prince and Princess Eatery. As the first eatery in the whole of Ekiti State, we have come of age.We have also been tested and trusted. People are now emotional about our services because it is now part of their subconscious mind. You know that it takes a very long time to build a successful brand but once it is built, it stays in the mind of the people. Prince and Princess has become a successful brand as far as eatery is concerned and as such nobody would jump the fence and take the market from us. People would ask, where is he coming from? What are his antecedents? You know that Ekiti is filled with enlightened minds who are very critical of everything. You cannot come yesterday and try to pool the wool over their eyes. They would put you in your rightful place until you pay your dues as Prince and Princess Eatery has done. Management Style I want to confess that I learnt the business in a very hard way. I have told you earlier that my initial staff almost grounded the business owing to lack of experience. It was when I left most of the other businesses that I was doing and then focused on it that it picked up. So, my management style is building a large customer base and treating them very well. Those things that make my customers to continue to come back is my priority. I have told my staff that if they offend me, I can forgive but whoever offends a customer would never get my forgiveness because it is because of them that we are in business. Apart from making sure that my customers are satisfied, I also make sure that my staff are happy with their work. I am a team player.I am not the bossy type I welcome ideas from staff and implement them if the idea would help our customers to value us the more.I make sure that they are well paid and that they get the reward for every extra effort they put in the business.I understand the fact that if my staff are not happy, they would not relate well with the customers and that can affect the business. So my management style is to make sure that my staff and customers are happy. Competitors I don’ t believe that I am competing with any other person in the business. Rather I feel that I am competing with myself. It is like somebody who is involved in a 100 metres race. Though he has other people in the track, he is competing against himself because the more he lowered the yards, the better runner he becomes. But if he feels that he is competing with people and they are so lazy that it would take them 20 minutes to run hundred metres and you feel that you are competing with them, you are harming yourself. Naturally, I have very high standards and I always like to make impact. In order to do that, I set my own standard and work towards it rather than wait for others to dictate the standards in the name of competition. We have come of age in the business and I know what the market demands from us. Once in a while, I also make some innovations to avoid my customers feeling bored because if they continue to eat and drink the same thing year in year out, there is the tendency for them to feel bored.Variety, they say, is the spice of life. So I am on top of my game in the business and doing what my instinct tells me. Advice to would be entrepreneurs The advice that I have for people who want to go into any type of business is to be patient and prudent in spending. They should know that they cannot sow and reap at the same time. Everything in life has time and season. They must not mix the season, rather they should allow it to run its natural course. Nigeria is a very difficult place to do business but if you persevere, you would enjoy the fruit of your labour. We have a huge population which is the desire of every entrepreneur. However, we must make sure that we are giving the best because if you are giving the best to others, you would also be getting the best because what you sow you must reap and with what you measure, you would be measured with. Job creation Eatery business is one that needs a lot of hands because of the services it is rendering to the public. In Prince and Princess at the moment, we have over 20 staff. Some companies that are bigger than us have more hands. That is why I feel that government should try and make its policies friendly so that they would be favourable to local investors because the more our businesses grow, the more hands we would be able to employ. One of the reasons for the insecurity in the country is unemployment. A lot of hands, mostly graduates are idle and a saying has it that an idle mind is the devil’s workshop. That is why I am appealing to governments at all levels to start providing support and incentives to local investors so that they can grow. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=69848 |

No fewer than four people were feared dead after clashes between suspected two rival cult groups at Baboko in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, in the early hours of Thursday. Though the immediate cause of the clashes was not certain, a source told our correspondent that the suspected cultists fought over an unnamed young lady. As of the time of filling this report, only one of the dead victims had been identified as Babatunde Sulyman. Our correspondent learnt that Sulyman’s corpse was later conveyed in a Sienna space bus with number plate Lagos BDG 330 XH to a hospital. It was also gathered that the corpse was accompanied by police officers in a Hilux pick up van marked NPF 2525 C said to belong to the ‘C’ Division of the Kwara State Police Command. It was also learnt that while the police were preparing to take the corpse to the hospital’s mortuary, the suspected cult members reignited their bloody clashes in the same area. After the clash, three people were feared dead. A relative to Sulyman, who pleaded for anonymity, told journalists that his late brother was killed by yet to be identified people allegedly from Adabata area of Ilorin. According to him, Sulyamn died almost immediately after being hit by a bullet during the first clash as the suspected cultists allegedly shot indiscriminately into the building where the deceased reportedly slept. The source added that another person, who was also asleep in the building, was lucky to sustain bruises on his cheek. The new Public Relations Officer, Kwara State Command, Mr. Okasanmi Ajayi, in an interview with journalists said only Sulyman died. He stated that the police had brought the clashes under control, adding that the police had returned normalcy to the trouble area. http://www.punchng.com/news/four-feared-dead-as-cultists-clash-in-ilorin/ |
OPC.NAIRALAND:Sing your song to the birds! We know the real yoruba and their cowardice Chyz*: |
The day i created thread on spate of Hausas/fulani in Owerri, here are some nairaland response torkaka: How time flies and how things change, growing up as children we were never aware of our cultural, political and social differences. To us everyone was the same regardless of whether he/she was ibo, hausa, jukun, tiv or yoruba. Being muslim or christian was of no importance and our teachers in primary school made no effort whatsoever to enlighten our consciousness on how different we were/are. Then we grew up and turned to teenagers and influences from those before us became more defined, we started being aware of certain things around us, our eyes opened to our socio-political surroundings, ibo's as we were meant to believe were traders who will do anything to get a good bargain, money was all they thought about and they will do anything to get it even if it means killing a man. Hausa's(there was nothing like hausa/fulani then) were uneducated people divided into two, muslim alhaji's with a lot of wealth who controlled the country and dirty beggers who roamed the streets. Yoruba's as we believed were dirty noise making cowards stinking of tribalism. Fulani's we associated with cattle and nunu, they were also thought to be honest and straight forward. These opinions were formed not based on our interactions, but on merely what was passed on to us by those who themselves had little information and knew absolutely nothing about those they were stereotyping. We are aware now, technology has opened our eyes and as events keep unfolding, we now know better. Political and social tribalism has not been and was never the ideology of the yoruba's, it has been and was always the child of the ibo's nurtured by perceived marginalisation and the losing of a war. This has always been the card, as the "they don't like us" and "we are victims" theories have been passed from generation to generation. Suspicion and the sense of injustice has fuelled the spirit of political tribalism, mediocracy is put on the front burner as double speak is the order of the day. Looking back, one has come to realise that our socio-political conciousness was not just awoken by stereotyping from our hosueholds but by our intereactions with peoples of different ethnic/tribal backgrounds, with the ibos who used every opportunity to remind us of how they are better, how they are marginalised politically and how if the country had divided, they would have prospered. This raised the ethnic/tribal fire in the rest of us as we were constantly reminded of the solidarity of the ibos....................Excerpts from an unfinished book (Author's permission taken)________________ Ddaji: @ op my sincere advise to you is to deport those Hausas back to their state.Have you ever been to out of ibo land.in sokoto the present councillor of rijiya ward is an ibo man,the Special adviser to the governor on non resident community is an ibo man and your people are enjoying free education in the state like indigenes.Ibos Kidnapped and collected N5o million from the family of late Abu Dankure(an associate of the Gov),just on saturday they kidnapped and release a state house of assmbly member. There is no village or harmet, that you will not find an ibo in the state. To be honest with you they threat to us.Crime rate like arm robbery is high in the state due to the large presence of ibos in the state.pls.let the deportation begins,I promise you it will be a blessing for us.I belief you are a lion in the cage________________ Even Afam Afam4eva: Both of you are obviously ignorant because you don't know the difference between Hausa and Fulani. even the people the OP saw may not even be Hausa. Even if it's Fulani people, so they should be stopped from moving freely just because other fulanis are soiling their name?_____________ Theben: When they unleash mayhem, the government should take the blame for not providing adequate security. Not all Hausas are Boko Haramists and not all are violent. The Hausas did not react to the influx of the igbos into their land with statements like "they are criminals, they are kidnappers". Whoever commits a crime should be prosecuted. The individual should take the blame and not the tribe._________________ donphilopus: I love the comments I'm seeing! If you check the number of Igbos in other part of the country, the OP won't spew this trash! They used to say, anywhere you go, and you do not see an Igbo man and Egbira man there, better run from there. |

Donmams: All these comments about GEJ till 2019 or 2050 are made just to spite the north and the south west. Ironically the north and south west have 80% of the country's voting strength. I wonder how power drunk GEJ thinks he's going to win elections when he's successfully alienated the two biggest voting blocs in the country. I think GEJ has no intention of conducting free elections which explains why he treats these two regions with utmost disdain. It is becoming apparent that GEJ believes that nothing will stop him from rigging the 2015 elections. Which is why he thinks he doesn't need the PDP, the north nor the south west. His body language tells me that GEJ is ready to plunge the country to war if his attempts to rig are unsuccessful. However i foresee this turning out very bad for GEJ, the south south and south east. I just hope nigerians are ready for another civil war in 2015.I'll advise you to pay a visit to any Psychiatric Hospital in North ASAP, before your condition becomes more outrageous and irreversible. |
