PoliticsRe: I‘ll Not Contest 2015 Election – Jonathan by Controversy: 9:34am On Dec 20, 2013
Dannylux: The opinion of tribal Nairalanders towards GEJ wouldn't change a thing about him. What's the population of Nairaland? I'm not scared by these pathetic lies from APC and the cries of some bigoted Nairalanders who would lie in the face of the truth just because he's not one of them. Even if the whole of Nairaland votes against him, it would change nothing!

2015 shall tell!
That remind me nairaland vote before Anambra state election
Don't worry Ngige will repeat in some of those state's. APC is political party build on lies, we are wiser now

PoliticsRe: PDP To Kick Apc Out Of Lagos Come 2015 by Controversy: 7:41am On Dec 20, 2013
I don't think Lagos PDP are serious. They have all the resources required to kick APC out of Lagos but tribalism and sentiment will not allow people like Bode Gorge to see beyond their nose.
PoliticsKidnappers Of Ex- Army Officer Wife, Send Fingers To Family by Controversy(op): 9:07am On Dec 13, 2013
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers who abducted 80- year-old retired army Major, Azum Asoya and his 55-year- old wife, Elizabeth, have reportedly sent two fingers suspected to be those of their captives to their distraught family in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State. Abductors of the Asoyas who kidnapped them on November 30 at Okpanam while on their way home from a burial ceremony in another part of the town, had allegedly opened negotiation with their family members, demanding a ransom of N30 million. Following inability of the victims’ family to raise the amount, it was gathered that the kidnappers threatened to eliminate their captives. It was suspected that the hoodlums might have made good their threat when they purportedly cut-off the fingers of the victims and delivered same to the family. A close family member who asked not to be named in print, confirmed that the fingers were indeed delivered to their house, adding that the kidnappers actually sent a message along with the fingers threatening severe action should the family members refuse to pay the princely sum soonest. But he added that the N30 million which the abductors originally demanded had been reduced to N9 million, an amount which he said the family could not still cough out. “We are just a struggling family and don’t have that huge sum of money. They should please set them free. We can’t afford even the N9 million they are demanding. They should have pity on the old man and his wife and set them free,” he said. Contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relations, ASP Lucky Uyabeme who confirmed the story, said his men were closing in on the hoodlums and will soon get at them. But he expressed doubt that the parceled fingers were actually those of Asoya and his wife, adding that only medical examination will determine the veracity of the fingers as there was a remote possibility that the fingers were those of dead people whom the hoodlums probably dug from the grave. Uyabame maintained that the hoodlums might have resorted to such bestiality to send shivers to the spines of the distraught family so that they could rush to go and pay ransom, urging the family not to yield to the threat as his men were hot on the trail of the kidnappers. The Asoyas were about entering their Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) when the gunmen who had apparently laid ambush swooped on them and bundled them into the car, shooting sporadically into the air as they zoomed off to an unknown destination with another car trailing behind.

PoliticsRe: Aregbesola To Receive Best Governor Of The Year Award by Controversy: 1:30pm On Dec 11, 2013
Let truth be told devoid of politics and media white wash, Ogbeni Aregde is working had in osun state in terms of what the eyes can see, he had clearly impacted on the state of osun but d very big question had been On what expense?.it is not hidden that ogbeni had plunged osun state into debts that are weaved in secrecy and just like fashola, aregbe had been using sloganering and to bamboozled the good people of osun in order to pillage their patrimony. while the people are rigaled in slogans like state of osun, opon imo, oyesso etc the state is plunged from one debt to another why the guy man smiles to the bank. just look at this recent manipulation of 4-5-3 from 6 -3-3 system to unification of school with common uniform, had any body dare to ask whether the challenge of education in osun is about this irrelevant issues other than provisions of well motivated and properly trained teachers with standard infrastructures and affordable education.
His “reclassification” and merging of public and missionary schools, which ensures that all schools in Osun will be co-educational, and only one colour of uniform is worn in all schools throughout the state. And i ask, the Hijab wearing students and non Hijab wearing students are they in the same uniform. Colour may be the same, but is the dress code the same?

Politics‘don’t Turn Corruption War Into Tribal Battle’ by Controversy(op): 7:25am On Dec 11, 2013
The Chairman, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, Mr. Ekpo Nta, has said that fight against corrupt persons in the country must be neutral and not be turned into a tribal battle.

He said this during the 2013 international anti-corruption day lecture organised by the ICPC for non-governmental  organisations, government officials, youth-based and anti-graft groups on Monday in Lagos.

The ICPC boss, who was represented by the commission’s head of operations in Lagos, Mr. Shitema Binga, said despite repeated avowals of self-righteousness in public lives, there were still proven incidences and allegations of brazen fraud and stealing in different quarters.

He said, “Corruption should not be trivialised, even where the offender shamelessly boasts and launders his loot on supposedly legal ventures or charities. Its arrest and trial also must not be labeled selective prosecution or tribal cleansing when one’s relative or friend or colleague is indicted as is touted by some quarters.

“We cannot claim to be wise or satisfied as spectators while certain unscrupulous persons pillage and loot our resources in every guise. I always consider it most grievous for any person to withdraw to silence, indifference or outright resignation to incidences of corruption and related offences.

“Imperfection, indiscretion and pilfering are no excuse even if served in intangible doses in our public lives. A truly honest Nigerian cannot be neutral in such an endeavour. It is therefore necessary to check and scrutinise ourselves to determine our incorruptible, and our commitment to remain so.”

President of Association for Eradication of Corruption in Nigerians, Mrs. Simbiat Agbalajobi, while speaking on ‘Role of the individual in the fight against corruption’, faulted Nigerians, including religious leaders, for the spread of corruption.

PoliticsRe: The Spate Of Hausas In Owerri by Controversy(op): 8:40am On Dec 09, 2013
Abagworo: The only reason I'm being suspicious of this kind of insinuation is that it might have political undertone and there might be plots to create political instability by first creating an atmosphere of resentment against Hausas and finally planting a bomb and claiming boko haram has invaded Owerri. The writer should be arrested ASAP as PDP has been known to play this kind of politics.
Afam4eva: Are Hausas not Nigerians? They have the right to live anywhere they choose to. It's not your business. Go get a job.
berem: So what if Hausas flood Imo state? Are Igbos of Imo origin not still migrating to the north despite the boko haram crises? Senseless post! angry
I hope you will still say the same thing when they start unleashing mayhem in the state with their cow
PoliticsThe Spate Of Hausas In Owerri by Controversy(op):
I saw this on Facebook so i decided to share it here with you
Churchill Brains Amakodike: Went to Control today and saw group/numerous of hausa people entering owerri on top of a trailer, about 4 trailers that are with goods have more than 10 to 15 hausa boys on it. What is happening on this IMO state everyday troupes of hausa people will be imported, IMO state government should pls look into this matter o cos the population of hausa's in this state is increasing with big margin, go to Mbaise road they have occupied they entrance with their fake goods and the government is not doing anything about it rather the government is chasing IMO boys on Douglas and other areas, but hausa boys are being left freely to do what the like in our own land Just the other night I saw many hausa boys beating an igbo boy mercilessly @ nekede road cos the are many and can out number igbo boys around Pls state government should do something serious about this before it gets out of hand cos if a serious action is not taking about the importation of this hausa boy to owerri, very soon the will start to drag owerri with us.
