Meanwhile please go back and check how many goals these your under the radar ninjas (TM Ibime) conceded too. At least we have to be sure you know what you are talking about before we sack Wenger and put you in charge wink grin
check how many number of goals? is that how it works?

of course, if they are playing in a quality team like arsenal who hugs possession 70% of the game, how many goals would these under the radar players concede? have you not seen chris smalling for man utd? how many goals was he conceding at maidstone or fulham fc when he was there? how many does he concede these days? defenders are mostly on holidays in quality teams.

if you are honest with yourself, you would know a defence unit of shay given, sagna, samba, vermaelen and cuellar offer a better protective shield than the pasta-boned specialists wenger have acquired in the last 7 seasons. it's not rocket science. samba would have improved under wenger compared to blackburn where he defends 80% of the time with his team being under attack all the time.

So basically, Coogar is a better scout than Wenger.
Issokay.

#okbye
in principle, yes.
when newcastle went down under. . . .wenger shoulda bought shay given. city paid just £6m for him and we all know he's better than any goalkeeper arsenal have had since jens lehmann. how much was schwarzer? brad friedel? sorensen? when they all left their previous respective clubs? these goalkeepers would have saved arsenal an average of 12 points each in the last six seasons.

then the defence. . . . .wenger is a blind bartimaeus. parading geriatrics like silvestre and squillaci when players like samba, shawcross, cuellar, faye, collins, richard dunne all cost less than £2m each few seasons ago. yes, these players are mechanical but then of what essence are specialist players in the defence when they concede bazillion goals per season? arsenal have one of the best midfield in the premier league. . . .with a good defence to back it and few decent strikers, you would agree with me arsenal would have won at least one trophy in the last six seasons - it doesn't have to be the league title. domestic cup victories can also be celebrated.

Coogar should stop making inane comparisons. . .Kun came on and almost single-handedly took Swansea apart.

That's someone with less than 2 weeks training with his side and 'tired' from the Copa?

Compared to Bolton where Muamba has scored his only goal of the season, Gabbidon scored on their behalf and the like?

This season the fear of Kun will be driven into all EPL defenders. cheesy
and swansea is the bestest team in the universe - the team is full of world class players like messi, ronaldo, vidic, pique, alves and coentrao.
you are a miserable sod. arsenal gave the same baptism to blackpool last season on their debut. . . .i am sure that makes walcott a world class player as well. if city cannot beat a newly promoted team with their expenses then they should donate mancini's brains to duduface. grin

who would give kun aguero that much space in any of the top four teams? how i wish this diminutive brat played against united at wembley. . .you would have seen cleverly put him in his back pocket throughout the 90. the space he had to score his second goal could have fitted 2 titanic ships. it was a wonderful strike(mind) but he was encouraged to take it from that distance by the back-peddling swansea apprentices.

So the aim is to get rid of Wenger or have Arsenal FC succeed? huh

The fans need to be careful - if their booing leads to worse performances, the slide may become precipitous - then what?

Arsenal will not suddenly become a club that can spend like Utd or Citeh, even if Wenger leaves, so then what?
this is the nonsense you people spew that gets everyone laughing at arsenal fans.
wenger does not really have to spend like united or city to challenge. at the end of the day it's 11 against 11 on the pitch. aguero is not 6 players cloned together because he's £38 million and chamakh is free.

over the last 6 years, wenger could have easily assembled a team of technicians with peanuts, if he had scouted well.
a lot of good goalkeepers went undetected by his radar that are better than almunia, fabianski and they cost next to nothing.
there were lots of midfielders(english) who went undetected by his french nose who are better than most of the quacks he parades week in week out.

the simple most important edge is. . . . .united/chelsea know how to win games when it gets tough. city and the others don't.

i am not scared of city one bit. they will get massacred by several mid-table teams this season.

Hernandez

Young Rooney Nani

Aguero

it was in the morning because by noon, fabregas was on his way to catalonia when he was halted by wenger.

the agreement(with my common sense) was. . . . .the deal was tied up late last week with the agreement that both parties must keep mum about it.
apparently, pique and puyol couldn't keep their excitement and they broke the news on twitter. . . . .cesc seeing this thought well, i might as well leave london now and he was on his way before wenger put a stop to it. . . . . .wenger then lied to the media again that the deal was yet to be tied up because of some fine details(like cesc signed with a different signature or there was a blot of palm-oil on the contract).

only for us to wake up on monday morning with the news that the deal has been done. . . .
to make matters worse, it took barcelona just 2 hours to prepare such a glorious welcome for cesc fabregas. it took them 2 hrs again to get 30,000 fans to camp nou that early, and another 2 hrs to stage an impromptu press conference to address hundreds of sports journalists.

if you really believe this deal was concluded today then i suggest you donate your brains to the apes in chester zoo. grin

This would show us how big Schmeichel's transfer fee was
english clubs were not paying as much as european clubs back then.
the english league was still shyte in 90-92 until the sky revolution came into play and they completely revamped the english league. that was when the new premier league era was born and with it came success and more success.

as far as british transfers were concerned, schmeichel came at a very tidy sum.
all the british transfer records that were broken in that era between 1984 and 1995 were paid by other european clubs.
it wasn't until 1995 when fergie paid £7 million(another british transfer record) for andy cole that english clubs finally got a grip with their finances.

Cesc: "I spoke to [Wenger] on Friday to say goodbye and got very emotional because he has been like a father figure,]" Fábregas said. "I couldn't even talk when I wanted to say how grateful I was for what he has done to me, so I had to send a message afterwards saying thanks for everything. If it was not for him I would not be here today to live my dream. I will never have enough words to say how grateful I am. I went from being a boy to a man and they gave me absolutely everything in football. I have mixed emotions. Life goes on: Arsenal will always be there, the fans will always be there. Players come and go; the club will always be bigger than them."

"At Arsenal, there were finals and semi-finals but we always lacked that little extra push to win something. That was hard to take. It was not that we didn't win titles it was that we kept going through the same routine, the same things happening to us and us messing up. I gave everything for Arsenal but it didn't show in the [trophy] cabinet because I only won one FA Cup. That is the biggest regret I will have in my career – not to be able to lift a trophy as Arsenal captain."

"I am sorry I couldn't say anything for the last two and half months, Arsenal would not allow me to talk, I was disappointed and upset about that but it had to be like that. I still have, personally, a great relationship with them and I am disappointed to have maybe lost [the affection of] some of the fans.

"I am sorry I couldn't say anything, I am sorry. I was very, very sad to be leaving. I spent a third of my life there – eight years."

more depressing news for the gaynners.
Newcastle and Arsenal have been charged with failing to control their players following Saturday's Premier League fixture, the Football Association have confirmed. Arsenal's Alex Song has been charged separately with violent conduct following an earlier incident in the same game.

The Arsenal forward Gervinho was sent off in the second half for striking the Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton after the pair had squared up following what the home side claimed was a dive in the penalty area. Arsenal have appealed that red card, but the midfielder Song could now also face disciplinary action after his stamp on Barton, which had inflamed the situation, was missed by the referee, Peter Walton.

A statement from the FA read: "Newcastle United and Arsenal have been charged by the FA with failing to control their players following Saturday's (13 August) fixture at St James' Park.

"Both clubs have been charged following a mass confrontation of players following an incident in which Arsenal's Gervinho was also shown a red card in the 75th minute. Following Gervinho's dismissal Arsenal have today lodged a claim that the standard punishment of a three-match suspension is clearly excessive. A Regulatory Commission will hear the claim on 16 August.

"Meanwhile Arsenal's Alex Song has been charged separately by the FA with violent conduct following an incident earlier in the same fixture. Both clubs have until 4pm on 18 August to respond to the charge, whilst Song must reply by 6pm on 16 August."

As it stands, Gervinho would serve an automatic three-match ban – missing games against Liverpool, Manchester United and Swansea – and Song could also be hit by the same retrospective punishment.

Barton, meanwhile, received a yellow card for his part in the melee, and as such has already been sanctioned. The midfielder admitted he "went down easily" following Gervinho's slap, and also engaged in some heated exchanges on Twitter, a social media platform which the FA continues to keep a close eye on.

think like a man and not like an oaf(it's a new season). . . . .there's no way the deal was done this morning with barcelona organizing such a big party and welcome of such nature. events like today in spain take days of planning.

I'm glad Neville is unbiased, don't agree he had to be though, he is bucking the trend of punditry in the UK and for that I'm glad.
I personally don't think any of those ones would have made much difference, its the overall squad strength we're talking about not one or 2 signings, not many of Arsene's signings are faulted, its the signings he doesn't make that are and that points to problems with cash flow IMO.

wenger does not need british transfer record players to win a title. there are plenty of smart signings in the league most clubs have signed in that period. how much did tottenham pay for lennon, how much did villa pay for ashley young?

what about the defence? arsenal's biggest weakness. fergie got vidic and evra for less than £12 million. are you saying wenger couldn't have gotten that kind of signing in europe for the past 6 years? how much did roma pay for stekelenburg? £6m. . . . .are arsenal that broke to get someone like him instead of persisting with plonkers like almunia and fabianski? money is not an excuse for the 6-year drought, wenger's stupidity is!

Shallow reasoning, negotiations were still going on at this stage and it was not a done deal, if he was sure Cesc would stay, a simple YES would have sufficed to the reporter's question. Most arsenal fans resigned to losing Cesc ages ago, even the few who held on for emotional and rational reasons gave up a few weeks back. That had no impact whatsoever on season ticket renewals, yu're grasping at straws.
you are a tool. . . . .
negotiations had stopped since last week and this interview was on friday.
before pique/puyol tweeted cesc was coming home. . . . . .wenger just wanted the news delayed so it won't create a circus before his tough away game at newcastle. that deal has been done since last week otherwise, why was cesc travelling to barcelona on friday morning before he was stopped to remain till monday.

@ Coogar, why you dey take phensic for other people's headache now, abeg carry go jo!
if debosky and mumuface hadn't taken tyleonol, panadol and paracetamol when ronaldo left, i wouldn't be taking phensic now. grin

Now this takes the mickey? Weirdest source of backing for Arsene Wenger.
Gary Neville of all people  huh huh huh

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2025700/Gary-Neville-Arsenal-fans-shouldnt-criticise-Arsene-Wenger.html

Amazing, coming from someone who played under Fergie. A most hated enemy can see this but crying shame our own fans can't see it.
much respect to Gary Neville that he can come out and say the truth despite club affiliations.
neville is now a skysports pundit - he must remain as unbiased as ever to hold on to that job. 50% of what he said was the truth but then there were good bargain players in those six years of famine that wenger missed.

shay given
ashley young
richard dunne
christopher samba
van der vaart
and hundreds of players wenger could have bought to improve his squad massively without breaking british transfer records.

was money the factor when he lost to a relegated bound birmingham side at wembley?

Coogar,
I doubt your analysis about transfer fee.
in 1991 (the year Schmeichel moved to United), David Platt was the record transfer for 5.5 million pounds (Villa to Bari)
How does a fee 1/11th of that become exhorbitant?
you cannot look at money that way. . . .the graph is not that straight-lined.

As for Sneijder,Let's not beat about the bush too much.Wages/transfer fee,it's all the same:Sneijder is deemed too expensive either way.
Back to De Gea.
but berbatov wasn't?

Where he is from isn't the issue for me.The fella is lacking in areas I think a top-notch goalie should be having.
If Cassilas can be the goalie of Real at 18,De Gea shouldn't be causing us palpitations when he's in between the stick. He has two appearances and two gaffes,do you think it's normal to be comfortable with a man in between the posts with that rap early on into his United career?
And as for United,
when casillas was manning the post for real at 18, blogosphere wasn't in existence. whether he made gaffs or not, there was nowhere fans could talk about it and slay him on the webspace. it was much easier for players to grow then than now. look at the abuses manuel neuer have faced since his big money move to bayern? see his gaff in the opening game. . . .that is the pressure young players face in the modern game where everyone is now a football pundit.

We were crap from 2004-2006.We lost to all sorts of basement teams. We finished LAST in our CL group in 2005/06.We celebrated the Carling Cup like it was the league title.
we won the fa cup in 2004
carling cup in 2006.
2005 was the only year we finished empty handed and we were runner-up in the fa cup where we battered wenger's team beyond repair.
the thing is. . . . we win even when we rebuild, others don't.

Yes the names we lost started a CL final, but so did Djibril Cisse and Djimi Traore for Liverpool. So to me it's really not a big deal, given that peeps like Ronaldo de Lima haven't smelt a CL final.
Jose had the best team in Europe? Not true. How didn't they win the CL during that era?
that they did not win anything in that era baffles me too and it dented jose's reputation a bit.
but if you can name any european team better than jose's team between 2004 and 2007, i would give you a bottle of bubbly.
cech, ferriera, terry, carvalho, del horno, lampard, essien, makelele, robben, drogba, joe cole/duff. . . . .big money signings, efficient players, won the league with 95 points. . . .etc. you cannot just beat a jose mourinho team then. . . .they are unbeatable and if they manage to score before you. . . .just forget trying to equalize. it's not happening.

I hope Wenger realizes if he doesn't bring any reputable "replacement" in, blood will spill?

Oh wait, 29M can't even get you any really good player in today's market! Unless you are Barcelona and the target is Cesc Fabregas!

Then again there are still like a million people on the waiting list for season tickets so it's all good! grin grin
who would spill the blood? grin
another riot in the capital? grin grin grin

debosky:
^^ Stop being a muppet - season ticket renewals happen in May, not in August.
