eldee must stay!

eldee's defense

i think it's so irresponsible for some of the managers clamouring for the league to be restarted. why should it be restarted? there was a deadline and most of you guys had enough time to choose your starting team before the website got hit by bugs. if you then fail to keep checking before the deadline expired, it's your own irresponsibility at play - not eldee's

why do nigerians love blaming their failures on something else but them? excuses after excuses after excuses. . . . .premierleague.com website is accessible 24/7. eldee does not hold the key to it's door. if you failed to rejig your team properly before the deadline then your query should be to the website and not eldee. from these few points, i stand to say there should be no reset and eldee must stay.

if anyone feels more competent than eldee, send your letter of application and a panel would interview and size up your intelligence. if you fall short of the required standard, you shall be named and shamed. i am sick and tired of the dog eat dog attitude on these pages with crooks, yobs, urchins and miscreants posing as football wannabes.

You are a m0r0n, thoroughly lacking in cognitive ability to distinguish between random, statistical one-offs and trends. Arsenal beat B'ham home and away - that is enough evidence to show you that the CC loss was a freak occurrence and nothing more.
we all know the one that is more important.
if you had won the carling cup, you won't be bereft of cesc and nasri as we speak.
useless losers.

Losing one game here or there is a one-off - the consistent measures are the enduring competitions such as the CL or the League. The evidence in those competitions is undeniable.
of course, porto won the champions league having outspent all the other european clubs in 2004.
man utd also won it in 1999 having outspent their rivals in europe. you are a disgrace when you come up with ridiculous excuses.

Because those losses are one-offs, you don't make judgements on individual games, but on overall trends.
what stupid overall trends are we talking about?
how did wenger beat roman's chelsea to the league title in 2004? that 38-game competition was also a one-off?

I won't tolerate your daftness much further - the reason for this has been explained numerous times - Citeh started from a much lower base, plus a lot of their spending has been wasted and is not being effective - Ade, Bellamy and Santa Cruz being prominent examples.
much lower base and their spending has been wasted? i thought spending and spending is the only way a club can win titles. . . .
ade, bellamy and santa cruz are not effective? the trio are better than any striker in arsenal's books and that includes van persie.

Didn't VDS also goof against Barca? You are a phat phoool and nothing more.

what is the difference between birmingham and arsenal in the cup final? you had better players on display and still got whacked. arsenal also had the better team on display against man utd in the fa cup when fergie played 7 defenders against wenger. why have united lost to leeds, wolves, west ham, etc if this expenditure is really a big deal? why can't man city finish above united since the abu dhabi take over?

We all want the best of both worlds, but the reality is that you need a compromise - if Wenger bought another GK, you wouldn't have Chez playing now. If we had packed the team with better midfielders, Wilshere would probably be sold by now. . . .I can make other examples.
who is chez? what has he done to be reckoned with?
his nerves went missing against a lowly side birmingham when he spilled a routine catch. . . .and you are here saying if wenger had bought shay given or brad friedel, chez wouldn't have developed? what is to say chez would win anything before he's sold to galatasaray like eboue. it is this kind of idiotic comments that lead you into trouble. by may 2012, this same mouth of yours would change saying wenger should have signed ike shorunmu or lemmy isa when he had the chance.

I am not saying that there is no need to spend, but the players that have won titles and cups for our rivals - Tevez and Yaya Toure for Citeh, Rooney and Berba for United, Drogba for Chelski - they've all cost big transfers and big wages. If Arsenal cannot afford that expenditure, it makes a difference.
what you give in is what you get.
the teams you have listed above here have won something - there's a reward when you win titles, not only bragging rights.
uefa just confirmed united copped £50m for being runner-up to barcelona in wembley last may. . .that prize money would be reinvested in the team!
when fergie spends that money on good talents, you would still be here screaming, wailing like a rhesus money about expenditure.

You continue to show an inability to learn. I am done bandying words with a recalcitrant doofus
what part of "It is the discretion of the selling club to exercise the buy out clause"  or is your brain manufactured by Microsoft?
mumuface. . . . .there's no discretion! if the discretion ish works why would any club insert a 1 billion euros buyout clause in a player's contract. now i know you are a stark illiterate. the only reason you are not dead is because it's illegal to shoot you - otherwise there's no need for you to be existing with your poop for brains.

Did FIFA or the courts force either of the respective clubs to sell Ronaldo and Lizarazu to the buying clubs? if so can you kindly supply those rulings or is that another of your urban myths you dream up in your mostly idle time?
yes, uefa forced barcelona to sell to inter milan. ronaldo hated staying in barcelona after his brilliant season. he was still under contract and he was unsettled. inter milan came calling, barcelona were enraged and they insisted if inter milan wanted the best player in the world, inter must pay his full buyout clause which was a ridiculous amount then. inter flipped them a bird and the case went to the courts.

uefa then ruled the buyout clause is nonsensical and it was never designed to affect foreign clubs. it was put in the contracts in the 80s because of the protest of la liga players who feel club owners had too much power and the players had none. so they ordered inter milan to pay the market value of ronaldo(£19m) then and the matter was closed. same as lizarazu!

If you do not understand law, I'm sure there are forums out there where you can learn. The contractual terms are between player and club.
YES, buy out clauses have mostly become symbolic as they are hardly ever enforced but they are enforcable provided all conditions are met. The only counter ruling that invalidates a buy out clause is the one from FIFA called the Webster ruling.
1 billion euros is enforceable? grin grin grin grin grin
this boy is a born cretin. tongue

To say that they are not enforcable outside of spain is a blatant lie or ignorant ranting.
FYI, if a player is contracted to a spanish club and within the first 3 year protected period of the Webster ruling, the spanish club have every right to insist on the full value of a buyout clause, whether it makes economic sense to keep a player who so desperately wants to go is a different matter entirely.
it is not about the country in any way.
it is not designed for foreign clubs. as at the period this clause became the ish in spain, spanish players don't even play outside spain.
that was the basis of uefa ruling in ronaldo's saga to inter milan. it was put in place to boost the player power of la liga players who felt they were being used as slaves in the 80s. the buyout clause became an escape where which a player can buy his remaining contract and break free if he's unsettled. that was the real reason spanish clubs started inserting it in contracts.

foreign clubs have never been affected by it.

Firstly, you challenge my statement about Cesc's transfer without giving any proof bar an urban myth, I asked for clarification and you refused to give any. I then went ahead to show you where your urban myth falls flat on its face and here you are asking for proof.  undecided

buyout clause for foreign clubs is an urban myth? so city paid the full amount of 60 million euros to get sergio aguero? you are a consummate cretin.
i now know why your head has an irregular shape. your brain is lop-sided. the cerebellum and the thalamus have swapped positions.

The fact remains that a buy out clause is legally binding whatever club a player is transferring to out of spain or within spain, it is the discretion of the club to exercise it or not. Prove that wrong or zip it and stop justifying your ignorance.
it is not binding to the clubs outside spain, you soccer illiterate.
buyout clause was meant for domestic clubs not foreign. . . . .barcelona and athletic bilbao had to drag inter-milan and bayern munich respectively to court in the tedious transfer saga of ronaldo de lima and lizarazu. . . .because of this buyout clause palava. barcelona wanted the full buyout clause to be paid by inter and bilbao wanted the same for lizarazu when bayern munich were sniffing him.

uefa told barca and bilbao to feck off and the buying clubs should pay the value of the players in the transfer market(dayokanu would lecture you on this incident). . . . . .since then, all spanish clubs fell in line and they will never charge a buying club outside spain to pay ridiculous buyout clauses.

ronaldo is on 300k per week for 5 yrs. his entire contract is worth just 80 million euros. . . . .but his buyout clause is 1 billion euros. how does that work? the clause was only put in place because they would not expect any team in la liga to pay such amount. . . .if city or arsenal have to bid for ronaldo, abu dhabi will pay 1 billion euros to get him? mumuface, you believe such fantasy?

can you quote your references and examples?  undecided
and can you kindly expatiate? what exactly you mean?

That a buy out clause is not legally binding if the transfer is out of the country or what?  undecided
I wonder what kind of jurispudence that is in a domain that has a central governing body in FIFA.
I hope you realise that it is always the discretion of a selling club to exercise their right as specified in the buy out clause, NO?
you are a consummate tool. . . . .listen to me like you have never listened to anyone in your life.
buyout clause is only valid between two spanish clubs. it's a requirement in la liga for every player to have a buyout clause. it's just a guide the selling club can use as a defence if they are not willing to sell to the buying club in la liga.

if a foreign club comes, the buyout clause is completely ignored. aguero's buyout clause in athletico when real madrid were sniffing him was 60 million euros. it's a ploy used to scare away the vultures of la liga and prevent them from poaching from clubs with lower spending power. when city came calling, aguero was sold for 40 million euros cos the buyout clause will not apply to man city. man city is not a spanish club.

if you know any foreign club who has paid the exact buyout clause stated in a player's contract in spain, kindly print it here otherwise shut up.
every football fan i know is aware that buyout clause are just playthings for la liga clubs as a scarecrow.
foreign clubs are not bound to such clauses. olodo with octagonal shape.

i have known this piece of information like 10 yrs ago and you are here debating what the world already knows.
stinking twunt!
sad that you have relegated debosky to the shallow pool mentality club of yours. minute by minute, the smartest arsenal fan(debosky) has been turned to an ape. . . . . . . .now i have to visit the chelsea thread more frequently and talk to the gurus there.

Yet Portsmouth is relegated and fighting for survival. grin What an idiotic comparison.
they won a trophy. . . .if they have arsenal's capacity stadium, they wouldn't go down.

How much have they received? They got £50m for Torres and spent 35+22 = £57m in January. (7m overspend).
£20m on Henderson, £20m on Downing and you’re here talking about net spend?  Ok tell us the net spend for getting rid of duds like Konchesky. grin grin
it was only torres they sold? ryan babel(£6m), benayoun(£5m), riera(£5m), mascherano(£18million). you didn't factor all those transfers, mr troglodyte? in a nutshell, liverpool bought £80m worth of talents last season and they sold £85 million.
their net spend as a whole was negative.

i don't need to spoonfeed you all the time, debosky(you are a ruminant animal).

Benitez spent more than Arsenal - yet he finished below us in almost every season. Who cares if he bought quacks? Is Arsene responsible for him buying quacks? grin grin
he has won trophies in the period arsenal have won nothing. . .fact!
the only reason arsenal are under pressure is the long period of drought. if arsenal had been winning at least one trophy every other season without the league title, there would be no problem at all. dayokanu wouldn't have the clout to call you guys buncha failures.

Liverpool has spent more than Arsenal - as mentioned above.
Who beat Arsenal in 2008? Man United with their bigger spending.
liverpool have not. . . . .who beat arsenal in 2008? man utd?
who beat man utd with a lesser spending than arsenal/man utd? portsmouth.
this goes to show it's not about money in cup competitions.

Liverpool spent more than Arsenal that season.
they did not.
arsenal spent £41m in 05/06. . . .ade(£7m), rosicky(£7m) walcott(£12m), diaby(£2m), hleb(£13m) minus traore, poom and mannone, etc.
liverpool spent £35m in the same season. crouch(£7m), bellamy(£6m) sissoko(£5.6m), gonzalez(£4.5m), agger(£5m), reina(£6m)

Sharon you are a phat phool!! (TM hell boy) grin
i am sure the statement above has embarrassed you now as unrepentant simpleton from the village of gbongan.

As usual, you can't see wood for the trees.
Was Walcott playing his first ever game in the EPL after gruelling weeks at the Copa America? You like to make dimwitted comparisons - maybe that is what constitutes intelligence in your retaarded sect of the human race.
ohhh,. shut up. gruelling weeks of copa america in which aguero was a substitute and they were kicked out early. what was aguero's contribution in the copa? then he played last night against swansea(a welsh team)? debosky, you are a disgrace. a disgusting buffo with acidic sweat glands. grin

gabriel heinze scored on his debut for man utd after gruelling weeks of copa america/olympic games in 2004 grin we didn't pay £38 million for him to get his special performance on his debut.

olodo omo gbongan. grin

I like quoting babbling like this for future purposes - Cleverly that couldn't keep a championship striker from Reading in his pocket for 45 mins not to mention 90 will keep Kun Aguero in his pocket.
cleverley that w@nked semen on yaya toure and de jong at wembley by giving them the run-around of their lives.
go and watch united's second goal on the day.
blimey, go to the chalkboard and see cleverley's stats @ westbrom on sunday! championship striker from reading scored a soft goal. . . . .that was de gea's fault. . . .not cleverley's!

The space Dzeko had to score against United could have fitted two space shuttles and nateevs phat frame as well. . . .what was the cause of that mistake? grin
that was because vidic expected de gea to be making an easy save to keep that away from goal.

Admit it Sharon - you are a phat phoool! grin
concede it debosky, you are a phat ruminant animal! grin

How come ONLY the teams that have spent more money have succeeded in finishing above Arsenal?
Keep spewing your ludicrous nonsense.
it's because wenger as a manager is idiotic and he's not a good project manager. he signs specialists, players who dwell on the ball for too long and who are more likely to get injured because of their style. a manager who is mental about specialists would at least have a bulky squad to cushion the effect of long term injuries - but mr wenger is the opposite. he keeps injury-prone players in the thinnest squad of the top four.

If he could have assembled such a team with peanuts, how come Redknapp and all the other managers below Arsenal haven't done this 'easy' task?
in the last six seasons, harry redknapp has been more successful than wenger. he guided portsmouth to the fa cup in 2008(beating man utd - eventual european double winners) to win the fa cup.

Why has Liverpool decided to spend over £100m since January alone since it can be cheaply done?
two things:

1) net spend.
how many players have liverpool sold since benitez left. you don't expend them to sell and not replace.
you keep barking about what who and who has spent? what about the amount they have received selling the quacks in their squad?
shouldn't that count for something?

2)rafa benitez.
benitez took liverpool 6 years backwards - signing quacks all over the world.
he ended up having 60 players at a point in his tenure with pathetic acquisitions. abeg, forget liverpool in the grand scheme of things.

as an aside, liverpool's drought is still shorter than arsenal's. since may 2004, arsenal have only won the fa cup.
since may 2004, liverpool have won the champions league, fa cup and a supercup. . . . .wenger still came short.

PS - I'm not talking about 'challenging' - that oft used now ultimately meaningless word. I am talking about winning.
If it is so easy to spend less and do better than Arsenal, then I am still waiting for the day someone will do it in this league.
if you aren't a blind bartimaeus like wenger himself. . . . . .you would see my comment:

coogar:
with a good defence to back it and few decent strikers, you would agree with me arsenal would have won at least one trophy in the last six seasons - it doesn't have to be the league title. domestic cup victories can also be celebrated.
CC final aside, the teams that finished better than us in the CL, EPL and FA Cup spent more money than us - FACT.
portsmouth 2008?
liverpool 2006?

debosky, you are a disgrace!!

@Coogar, you pulled an exagerration, bazillion goals conceded, I called you on it, so that is how it works.
hehe

The reason why you can put up the 70% figures is cause Arsenal is technical all round.
nope, it's because arsenal are an offensive team just like the rest of the big four.
the big teams are expected to win games, the big teams are expected to cop more territorial advantage and stuffs and stuffs.

And no I have said it here before, Shay Given is not the type of keeper we were calling for. He is an Almunia type keeper, good on the reflexes,  but never comes off his line. Did you see Tech 9 on saturday?
shay given wouldn't have made the error that cost arsenal the carling cup. do you agree or not?

All said, I'm good with Samba to give us something different from what we have. But Cuellar can go to where Ibime discovered him from.
cuellar is at least better than silvestre/squillaci and the latter years of gallas. richard dunne is better than any arsenal defender in the last 2-3 seasons. how much do these defenders cost in the open market?

duduspace:
While this might be true as I haven't checked it up but can't see the sense in it, this is a specific clause that locks in a max price to be paid if a return is ever on the cards.
as a footie acolyte, i expect you to know this.
technically, the buyout clause is only valid between 2 spanish clubs.
the way in which it can effect a transfer between a spanish club and a club from outside of spain is that it can be used as a guide to the price that they would be willing to accept. . . . . .

for instance, ronaldo's buyout clause is 1 billion euros. you think that is what arsenal would pay if they are buying him next summer?
wenger and the whole emirates would have to be sold. grin

Interesting snippet I just heard on Sky about Cesc's contract, there is a buy back clause which locks our purchase price in. Basically it means if he chooses to return to arsenal, the buy out clause of 170m put in by Barcelona does not apply to us. We will basically pay them what they paid us to get him back.
buy-out clauses don't affect foreign clubs buying outside spain in general.
