1. Half of all American children will witness the breakup of a parent’s marriage. Teenagers in single-parent families and in blended families are 3 times more likely to need psychological help within a given year. (Peter Hill “Recent Advances in Selected Aspects of Adolescent Development” Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry 1993) 7. Compared to children from homes disrupted by death, children from divorced homes have more psychological problems.(Robert E. (Horn, Bush, “Fathers, Marriage and Welfare Reform) 14. Children of divorce are 4 times more likely to report problems with peers and friends than children whose parents have kept their marriages intact. (Tysse, Burnett, “Moral Dilemmas of Early Adolescents of Divorced and Intact Families. Journal of Early Adolescence 1993) 15. Children of divorce, particularly boys, tend to be more aggressive toward others than those children whose parents did not divorce. (Emery, “Marriage, Divorce and Children’s Adjustment, 1988) 16. People who come from broken homes are almost twice as likely to attempt suicide than those who do not come from broken homes. (Velez-Cohen, “Suicidal Behavior and Ideation in a Community Sample of Children” Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry 1988) 17.Children of divorced parents are roughly 2 times more likely to drop out of high school than their peers who benefit from living with parents who did not divorce. (McLanahan, Sandefur, “Growing Up With a Single Parent: What Hurts, What Helps” Harvard University Press 1994) ________________________ mindfulness, you need to go & lie down. these are various researches & i made sure i sourced out the ones with references so you can go and read them in your leisure. everything you are trying to paint fell flat on its face when one research actually claimed the death of a parent is less devastating to a child than divorce. checkmate! |
SIRcumalot:a striker earning £300k/week got his leg tangled when all he had to do was cop some composure and score? are you aware it was rooney himself that dragged the ball beyond his right foot & ultimately screwed up the chance. Still he was calm enough to score the winning goal when he had another chance.the standard has fallen! rooney scoring from a clear-cut chance put on a plate for him by lingard is what you are wowing about. i am sure you would ask for a public holiday if rooney scores a ronaldoesque long ranger. ![]() My standard remain where it isrooney didn't play very well. it was a mediocre performance, you have been hoodwinked by relativity. if you have been watching your 20 inch TV & then travel to a place where the TV is 14 inches, it would appear smaller in your eyes. after a while, the 14 inches would become normal to you. the next time you go back to your original 20-inch TV, it would appear larger in your eyes. If either Herrera or Mata played exactly what rooney played yesterday you won't be this critical of their performance infact you'll do the opposite.herrera & mata do not earn £300k/week. to whom much is given, so much more is expected. matter of fact, if any of the spaniards perform that way, it wouldn't surprise me cos they almost always deliver good performances week in week out. it's always expected of them to deliver. |
Mindfulness:this isn't about social classes.... you seem to be tying yourself in a knot. the issue is if children of divorce fare better than children staying with both parents. in a nutshell, if two different families are in the lower social class. the kids in the divorced family would fare considerably worse than the kids whose parents are staying together. Please spare me British tabloids, you don't think I take such sources seriously, do you?so the messenger should be shot, the message is not important? the british tabloids did not carry out the research, they only reported the research. if you are confused about the statistics in britain, how about this one? https://peacemaker.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/bg1373cht5.gif like i told you, stop reaching..... there's nowhere on this planet where children of divorce are not the reasons there's a breakdown in the society. for every one of them that turned out good, there are several hundreds of them that are spending long years in a correctional facility! |
Mindfulness:this research is a heap of applesauce. when it said divorce affects children in the short run, how short is the short run? crime statistics read differently everywhere i looked. • children from broken homes are 5 times more likely to suffer from mental troubles. it ranges from depression, addiction, anti-social behaviour. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1079510/Children-broken-homes-times-likely-suffer-mental-troubles-says-Government-study.html •• children of divorce are 9 times likelier to commit crime than those brought up in stable families. divorce doubles the chances of living in poverty & it spikes the crime rate. the estimated cost according to the british govt is £100 billion per annum. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1326420/Children-parents-split-NINE-times-likely-commit-crime.html ••• children of divorce are more likely to fail exams, use drugs, suffer eating disorders, etc than their counterparts living with 2 parents. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2846812/Children-divorce-likely-drink-fail-exams-develop-eating-disorders-drugs.html don't even get me started with the stats in america. 70% of the long term prison inmates are from broken homes. do all these factors constitute what you think is a short term effect? abeg - stop reaching.... |
SIRcumalot:any elite striker would score from that chance. the pass from mata arrived but rooney's lack of a left foot prevented him from taking advantage in his first attempt. however, rooney's mediocrity meant he couldn't control the ball & thus dragged the ball beyond his right foot. martial would have scored from the same chance. Did he not win a penalty that wasn't called yesterday did he not create chances in yesterday's game or score a goal ?his OPTA stats are with me. rooney was average in the game but like i have said earlier, it is an improvement from the previous games where he's served shyte! Am not saying we absolve the man of his Sins just give credit when it is deserved.your standard has fallen! this is what relativity does to people. when one has been subjected to shyte for so long, any small thing becomes overblown. |
Mindfulness:yes! even when there have been fights in the homes, it's still better than divorce. children of divorce are more prone to committing crimes worldwide and that includes mother nigeria. And while at it, a more conclusive research would show how many children of ALL divorced parents (in a particular timeframe) end up in prison.how would that be conclusive when the comparison is actually between the kids who stayed with both parents & their counterparts who were raised by divorced parents? |
pickabeau1:21st century polyandry!!! ![]() Cap? well... why cap another's happinesswhat about the long term effect on the children of divorce? people hardly talk about this but these kids make up the majority of the inmates locked down in penitentiaries. so i looked further to see what it's like in a different clime like nigeria and this was what i found......

pickabeau1: She is hot thoughshe's arguably the hottest black woman in the last 20 years or thereabout. it's very difficult for her ilk to remain in a stable relationship. it's hardly her fault! Timbuktou:you mean it's a joke already? ![]() |
SIRcumalot:what about the golden chance rooney squandered just before he scored? you often forget this fat cow earns £300k/week. when you get paid that much, you are expected to deliver like messi/ronaldo/suarez. i ain't hard on rooney.... to whom much is given, so much more is expected. the standard has fallen considerably concerning rooney's performance. if he controls a pass these days, it means he has played well. ![]() |
pickabeau1:what's the difference between serial monogamy & polygyny/polyandry? i think there should be a cap on the number of times people should be allowed to get married. after 2 tries, there should be an outright ban for such individuals to get married. marriage is fast becoming a joke! |
SIRcumalot:rooney was a disgrace for most parts of the game. he was decent to good in the first 20 mins. then he was anonymous for the rest of the game until he scored a sitter from 4 yards. after the goal, he disappeared again. meanwhile, young & lingard were good value for money. they didn't hide at any point in the game like rooney did for about 60 mins in the game. |
hehe.... eric benet is a clown! |
SIRcumalot:but rooney was hot throughout? ![]() were rojo & young not better than anything rooney did in the game? |
SIRcumalot:de gea smalling rojo lingard young that's 5 players on that list that were infinitely better than rooney last night. |
rooney was average last night! however, it was a massive improvement considering the shyte he has been serving in the last 18 months.... the standard has taken a huge dip. all rooney needs to do these days to have a good game is if he passes the ball better & does not lose the ball often like he's been doing. rooney is like a student that has been scoring 10% in all his exams in the last 18 months. if he scores 35%(which is still failure), it would be hailed cos it's an improvement. his performance yesterday is an exception, it's not the norm. people should stop getting nocturnal erëctions for what is certainly an indian summer. he will revert back to his shyte self in the next league game. |
Stillfire:she would be very stupïd to hold on to such a belief! Stillfire:i wish it was that simple! man meets woman.......man already has about 5 side-chics. new woman likes the man in spite of the warning signs. woman marries man.....man impregnates one of his side-chics. a scandal ensues! if you don't believe me, ask toke makinwa. ![]() |
funlord:the third party is a great conversationalist. some men are just suave when it comes to clocking people's wives on social media. i don't blame these men, i blame the gullible wives.Men be warned, don't always blame the player or in this case the culprit whom may be or whom you suspect may be chasing your girl/wife, SHE has definitely given him a REASON to! O.p go and talk to your WIFE! Bone that MAN and go and discover the "real reasons" behind her need for his attention!!!only a foolish man would blame the other man. if the wife didn't give strangers the long rope, they won't be lurking around facebook looking for impressionable women to slaughter. the OP should take heart and find a chat buddy for himself. |
SailorXY:stones is 10000% better than jones. you are still expecting him to overcome his demons at 23 when stones has no demons at all at the age of 21. jones is a mediocre footballer - all he has is desire. he doesn't understand the art of defending, he's always injured & he's a risk to everyone else & himself on the pitch. |
fphumie:never knew married women can be so gullible! thanks for this vital information. ![]() |
sinizia:he has turned it around. his distribution is improving and he's been beastly in defensive duties. if we get stones next summer, our defence is sorted for 5 years at least! |
Odunharry:my eyes were glued to the TV. another MOTM performance from smalling! |
sinizia:don't despair..... we have this under control! this is the kinda game we win emphatically. the line up is shyte(i agree with you) but it hardly matters in europe cos the pace is always slow. |
daretodiffer:how so? Bwahahaha, that is what they will have us believe so that men can continue to act with total disregard while their partners have to suck it upyou didn't quite answer my question. the question is, who carries the graver consequence. for the male, nothing happens. he's not going to carry the child or hushed into the labour room to push & he's not going to lose a year to take care of the child. is the society to blame for this simple illustration? The society is not in a postion to castigate them, rather it should be blamed for ruining their lives. Give them the necessary help and support that week prevent unplanned pregnancy and also help then through one.we ain't talking about the castigation.....we are talking about the consequences. even in developed countries where teenage pregnancy is prevalent, the females still bear the brunt of indiscriminate sēx. it's all tied to nature! I don't see why this new model shouldn't work but of course, you wouldn't want it to work, would you?why fix what's not broken? ![]() Women get the perks in court and sincerely I hate it. In reality, It hasn't change anything so far, men still want to eat their cake and have it. If we can change that, the court might loosen its victim approach to gender issues (some western countries like Germany have began to favour a more equitable approach).now you are talking..... What happens when a woman cheats? She leaves immediately. She and kids get tagged for life.men made this standard for themselves. women should follow suit and make infidelity an unforgivable misdemeanour! If the man were the perpetrator, the wife would be told to suck it up. It is part of marriage. They don't want to know how she feels, she must look the other way. And the average man still believes that it is normal for men to cheat therefore he just couldn't be bothered about being careful.we are africans! there's a long tradition that allows a man to take more than a wife. nigerian marriages are also backed by islamic laws which actually makes polygamy very legal. we are not breaking the law. Have you ever gone thorough a rape thread on Nairaland?i despise rape threads! Aren't you aware of the ceaseless slut-shaming on Nairaland?women slut-shame more than men! the men learnt from the women. Are you aware that most men still find a way to justify physical assault against women?not exactly! men only justify retaliation. if a man suddenly starts beating a woman on the street, men would descend on him & beat him up. however, in cases where women draw the first blood, it becomes a bit more complicated. Whether you like it or not, these few examples are still huge concerns for women.i can give you a shopping list of huge concerns for men but i cannot moan. i wasn't trained to moan, whinge or complain. my emotions have been taken out of me by the same society that turns the other eye when you cry. ![]() So you know, I am not denying the fact that there are injustices against men however are ever ready to see it as part of being a man (in fact I will be writing on redefining domestic abuse). Basically, you are responsible for being in this position.just like i was telling you earlier.... men don't whinge. we have chosen this path, there's no need to complain about whatnot. my fate has been sealed - everything that happens to me is part of being a man. ![]() And my insistence on treating others fairly does not mean that I disagree that men are naturally superior to women but the superiority does not mean that we have to be treated like rubbish.now, this is what i like to hear. ![]() I am going to ignore that statistic again.hehe! |
raumdeuter:easy.... £10 per each name revealed. of course, the first request shall be free of charge. stillfire = stillwater skimoni = osisi ![]() |
raumdeuter:she's a newly born again old poster. ![]() |
UniqueGem:darmian is fit, jones is fit & yet LVG puts young as RB? van gaal must be very stüpid. why not just give rooney a rest? play young as LW and let Jones play as RB. |
Stillfire:close to 60% of the single babes in nigeria attend these church programmes on a weekly basis. my dear, the struggle is real. ![]() pickabeau1:the struggle is real. ![]() |
